Food excellent for all of us! The two Salmon bento's were prepared perfectly, the Sushi Sashimi box delectably prepared, Korean Ribs tasted great but harder for wife to eat, but still perfectly prepared! All accompanying bento box foods; Sushi, Salad, Soup, Egg rolls & Tempura Shrimps were on point! Service by the servers at Sushi Sakura always exceed expectations, maintaining tables, water, tea and drink glasses without hesitation! Ambiance looks great and kept clean!
Ambiance: The restaurant is super cute and on the smaller end. The tables are kind close together so it feels very personal. The service was great though and they are very efficient. Alaskan roll: This is my favorite roll! The fish was fresh and the portion was standard. The roll had great flavors and I would definitely order it again.
Tried takeout sushi here for the first time! Taste-wise, it was just okay and didn't really stand out. The service and atmosphere were pretty neutral. Nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either.
Portion size/value is great (salmon bowl was loaded with salmon), but the food is not good. Pork katsu and karaage were totally unmemorable. Fish was bad quality. Even the toro was mediocre - not sure how that's possible considering it's tuna belly. I've never had toro that was this bland and tough. In a strip mall and feels like it. Service is very friendly, though the dishes came out pretty slowly. Free dessert was a nice touch. Also... they didn't know what karaage was. We actually had to say "Japanese fried chicken." Do with that what you will.
I think I found my new favorite sushi takeout spot! Every time I order here I always get the salmon sashimi bowl. I think they're the only one that serves it with the thickest slices ever and the pieces always melts in my mouth. This time I also ordered the red rose which is a no rice roll with tuna and salmon stuffed with jalapeño, crab and avocado. I'm telling you they don't skimp on their portions. The slices are thick and fresh, definitely worth it. They also pack their to-go orders so neatly and I never had an issue with their service. I would love to visit the restaurant in person soon!
Sushi Sakana is a good sushi restaurant in Plano. They offer a modern interior look that brings in a luxury casual experience. The services are quick, kind, and attentive. The food comes out very presentable with clear ingredients demonstrated. The quality is fairly good but not the freshest and provided mediocre flavor with other ingredients. Overall it is worth to try at least once in the area. But be cautious the price is on the higher expensive end listed closely to $20 per rolls.
Fantastic spot for sushi in Plano with great service as well! They offer a wide variety of menu items ranging from sashimi to specialty rolls, and everything we had was delicious! For appetizers, we started with the seaweed salad and agedashi tofu. While the seaweed salad was tasty and refreshing, the agedashi tofu is probably the one item we had that I wouldn't rush to order again. It was good as just fried tofu with a dipping sauce / broth, but it lacked in toppings such as bonito flakes and scallions. Moving onto the sushi, we got the guns & roses roll, hand roll trio (spicy tuna / California / salmon & avocado), sushi combo with 8 pieces, and toro sashimi. All of this was phenomenal -- the fish tasted fresh across the board, the hand rolls were filled to the brim, and the specialty guns & roses roll was flavorful and balanced. If I had to pick, the star of the show for me would have to be the toro sashimi as it was so buttery and delicious. Otherwise, I was very impressed by how much I loved the guns & roses roll since the sauces worked well together and didn't overpower the fresh fish. To finish off our meal, they provided us with a complimentary dessert consisting of taiyaki ice cream with strawberry jam sandwiched in between! It was completely unexpected, but we both really enjoyed the simple and refreshing sweet treat :)
Amazing as always. I came here after leaving another place. This was and will always be the better choice. You want great sushi, come here. If you want great service, come here. The music they play as well makes eating more fun as well. Love this place.

I just moved to Texas and have been looking for a good sushi place and this is far and away the best I have had here. I had the sashimi combo and the Vegas roll, both of which were so so good. The salmon sashimi and yellowtail were my favorites. The chef and server were both really kind and provided great service. Additionally the place is really well done and it's a great place for a date night.
The food was amazing! The quality was wonderful and i'm asian so trust me it hard to find a great quality place that wont break your wallet. The ambiance of the place is divine my family loved it. If you havent been here your missing out! Perfect lunch menu and special and a perfect place for dinner. Come by and check it out. Oh and ask the chef to make you his favorite, and see what u get. You'll be glad you did! Service was very warm and inviting, they make you feel welcome here. Stop by!
My first time getting takeout from this place & I was impressed! The food was ready in 20 minutes & the pick-up was smooth. The sushi was all super fresh & delicious. Even the soft shell crab wasn't soggy & was yummy. I'd go back & try them again.
"Here is the best water in Plano," was an actual phrase I heard from Esther after I sat down and was greeted. Of course, that prompted me to ask, "What makes it the best water in Plano?" Esther told me they have a great filtration system and that it tastes wonderful. And frankly, I agree! This is very good water. It may sound like a small thing, but I appreciate details like this from a restaurant that takes its service seriously. I started with toro ($39) and Japanese snapper ($20), both in sashimi form. I love snapper, and this was quite good, with proper cuts that were not too thin or too thick and very generous portions. I also asked for fresh wasabi, so that was the only accompaniment I personally added. The snapper was fresh with no fridge burn, something I encounter far too often out in the world. The toro was good, just served slightly too cold for my preference, so I set it aside for a few minutes to warm up while I approached the rest of my substantial order. At one point, my server actually told me I had ordered enough and didn't need any more. She was probably right, however..... Next came the chef's choice sashimi platter ($35): salmon, yellowtail, tuna and escolar/white tuna, four pieces each. Man, I love escolar when it's fresh and properly cut! It has that springy firmness with a light, smooth, slightly buttery taste that just feels right. Yum. Next up were mackerel and eel (unagi) sushi, three pieces each served together. Very different flavors if you're newer to sushi, but I like them both. The mackerel is a little oily with a savory flavor mixed with a punch of vinegar and salt that makes it really interesting. The unagi brings that richer, sweeter contrast. OK, so I'm still eating... I also ordered the Caribbean roll and the Guns N Roses roll. What was I thinking? The Caribbean is a no-rice roll with mango, salmon, tuna, crab and avocado. Delicious, fresh and beautiful. Then came the Guns N Roses, my fresh fish roll, which somehow I still found room for. I had a 300 ml bottle of Horin Junmai Daiginjo ($49) with the meal, and it paired extremely well with my choices. I tend to avoid heavy mayonnaise-based dishes and prefer lighter flavors overall. In other words, I like to taste the fish. Horin is delicate enough that it complements that style of meal without competing with it. If you're ordering more sauce-heavy rolls, the house sake may make more sense. If you're going for the fish experience, though, this is a very good sake. At $49 it isn't inexpensive, so if you want to stay closer to $20 to $30 a bottle, I'd just ask them for the closest alternative. I absolutely recommend Sushi Sakana. Fresh fish, generous portions, good service, and some genuinely memorable dishes. And get extra water. Apparently it's the best in Plano, and I'm not arguing. PS: The restrooms were CLEAN! This was our first time visiting, and we will definitely be back again! This is the perfect place for a lunch date! The decor is lovely, and the dining room is clean and well maintained. We loved being able to see the open kitchen during our meal! The sashimi portions were generous and excellent quality, and all of the rolls we shared were delicious, as well. The staff was attentive and kind, and we were quite pleased with our entire lunch experience! read more

Sushi Sakana has become our newest obsession, our favorite sushi spot in Plano. Theres a lot of competition right now, but Sushi Sakana stands out. They offer a spectacular menu, qaint cozy sexy ambiance, the rolls are generous (bring your appetite), and the sashimi is always fresh. Yes, the prices are a little high, but the quality more than makes up for it ... you really do get what you pay for. read more

Yesterday, we celebrated a fun birthday at Sakana Sushi, and it was an incredible experience! We ordered a variety of dishes, including the rainbow roll, salmon rolls, seaweed salad, dancing fire roll, udon, ramen, spicy edamame, spicy tuna tower, and tempura. Every single item was good and service was helpful and kind.. One standout was the fresh wasabi, definitely a must-try if you're dining here! FOOD Geisha - the role has salmon on the outside and imitated crab on the inside. There are also bits of small fish eggs inside. Very tasty! Very fresh salmon as well! Chef's Special - cucumber wrapped around salmon, tuna, and another white fish. Ingredients were also super fresh and sauce was in the perfect amount. Unagi - Sauce taste great, tad bit of fishiness. Comes with 2 pieces which personally I think $9.50 is a bit more on the expensive side for. VIBES Since the last time I came, they changed out a lot of the furniture and the lighting is brighter. They have booth seating and also tables with chair/booth. Seats are very comfy and the place is very clean. Interior well decorated and gives a bit more upscale vibe. SERVICE Everyone was very sweet. They even gave us complimentary ice cream. Food came out quickly as well. read more

Sushi Sakana is quaint, cute, and so worth it! The salmon sashimi was my favorite.. fresh, sweet, buttery, and 6 big pieces. The Dragon Roll was tasty and not fishy at all, and the Samurai Roll had the perfect spicy kick with both tuna and salmon (hard to find!). Cozy spot + amazing sushi = new go-to read more
This place was an absolute gem! Everything we ordered was delicious, the service was good, the food came out quickly despite being busy. A must try, for sure. We started off with the crab rangoons which were crispy and packed with flavor. It was filled with crab, so much different than the usual cream cheese filling that most places have. The dipping sauce wasn't quite a sweet and sour, but more of a Thai chili sauce, which I loved. The spicy tuna roll had great flavorful and quite spicy. The James Bond roll was good and perfectly crisp. My absolute favorite was the green hulk roll. The sweet shrimp on top paired incredibly well with the spicy jalapeño inside. The jalapeño added an additional layer of texture to the roll. We will be returning just to try other rolls and some of the cooked dishes, like teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, etc. read more
