IMO, Dozo's take-out location is better than their sit-down omakase restaurant... kinda ironic I've always had a good experience when I get takeout at Dozo in Richardson. The sushi is always tasty no matter what I order. I will give them extra points for the packaging. The food comes in a nice container AND they put it all in a fancy bag. I also have never had to wait for my food, it's always ready when I arrive.

I often crave for high-quality to-go boxed sushi on my laziest days- a place where I could pick up an assortment of nigiri, maki, and Dozo checks all of those boxes! Last night I stopped by after seeing an ad on an evening scroll on my IG, and the algorithm knows me and my fish-tooth all too well. I drove 25 minutes and was presented with a lowkey shop. I was greeted by the cashier fellow, chose the Classic Box, and loved the authenticity and carefully crafted packaging (nice touch). The sushi was fresh, detailed, and satisfied my cravings. I can see people questioning whether the convenience of these boxes is comparable to restaurant dining experiences in prices, but that's also based on personal preferences as the quality is the same/better than most. I would love to see more box/custom options on the menu! Love to see how this young sushi spot evolves!

Had to make this my 100th review :D My husband and I were craving sushi & heard about this place on TikTok! The parking situation is not too bad. It is a shared parking lot with other establishments. The interior has a nice touch to it. They have a QR code for you to scan to see the full menu. There's lots to choose from in terms of food & drinks. Originally I planned on only grabbing sushi but a little bit of matcha wouldn't hurt anyone XD There was one staff in the front taking orders and making drinks. She was extremely nice & helpful! Would recommend for anyone looking for great sushi & matcha :)) FOOD: * Salmon Lovers Box: 5/5 salmon was fresh & buttery. definitely recommend getting!! * Aburi Box (Seared): 4/5 good assortment if you want to explore different cuts of fish DRINK: * Iced Mango Matcha Latte: 5/5 This might be the best matcha I've had in Richardson... You can really taste the matcha & it isn't too milky or watered down. Plus, the mango flavoring isn't too strong or too sweet which is perfect

Just a storefront in the middle of a strip mall on Arapaho between Greenville and Plano Rd. Parking is precarious, so hubs kept car running while I ran in. Inside is small but looks clean. There's maybe 2 tables, but more for waiting rather than seating for eating. The place thrives on providing quality sushi and sashimi on a to-go business model. Always check your order before you leave. They messed up our order twice so now I always double-check.

I treated my brothers and cousins for dinner at Dozo, a sushi takeout spot. Their sushi boxes are perfect to bring home or on a nice picnic. I ordered the salmon lover box, aburi (seared) box, and maki roll box. The salmon lover box is a classic must get, they give you thick slices of sashimi and nigiri and they are high quality as well. The maki and roll were both tasty as well. The 5 seared nigiri included salmon, beef, squid, eel, and scallop. All of them were very good, especially the salmon, beef, and scallop. The seared roll had a nice seared salmon on it topped with plenty of spicy mayo. The maki rolls were simple yet so good. I especially enjoyed the spicy rolls. They have really nice packaging and provide you with a pair of chopsticks, soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger for each box. For a sushi take out spot, their sushi very high quality

ORDER Lunch Box Comes with 4 pieces of Nigiri, two pieces of sashimi, edamand two maki rolls - the ingredients are quality and fresh! The rules are pretty basic, but they taste so good. The rice is a good consistency. Kuromitsu Matcha - the brown sugar flavor is very prominent however the matcha is still really good and has a more sweet matcha flavor (so not as umami heavy). I haven't seen any combination like this before, but personally, I really like it. The drink is a little bit on the sweeter side, but the ratio of milk to matcha is solid! VIBES There are two tables and four seats inside. The place is a lot more grab and go vibes. Very cutely decorated with the flowers/sakura vibes. SERVICE Service is great! Person taking order was very sweet and offered suggestions. Also just to say it again, usually they don't do substitutions but they gave me seaweed salad instead of edamame since I'm allergic to edamame. Presentation is really nice. The to-go boxes are high-quality. Lowkey on the pricier side but I fully enjoyed treating myself here :3

I'm in town for a few days looking for places to live, was craving sushi (as always), and I came across DOZO. It's advertised as a take out place which was fine for me. I ordered online... it was so quick and easy. The checkout process was seamless. I ordered the salmon lovers box and a soy garlic edamame. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was small but very cute and clean. There are a few tables but definitely not a full service sit down place. I was greeted by the server and told her I had placed my order online. After just a few minutes she handed me an EXCELLENT quality bag (think gift bag for a present status) and I was off. The presentation - flawless. Beautifully curated in a well organized little box. The flavor - AMAZING! The sushi was so fresh, the spicy salmon actually had a lil kick, the salmon was so buttery and flavorful. The soy garlic flavor of the edamame was incredible! The value - Appropriate. From the bag to the food quality, even to the quality little wooden chopsticks they include, well worth the price tag. The salmon box was about $35 and it included 3 nigiri, 3 sashimi, and 2 rolls. The cuts of salmon were thick and comparable to many high end full service sushi places. Overall, I would order from this place over and over again. If I just want a night in with some wine and good sush, this is my go to. Hopefully it won't be too far from my new home but even so, I would make the trek to pick this up because it was that good. Highly Recommend!

Dozo sushi is so good! The sushi quality is amazing, and it is definitely my favorite sushi spot in DFW. I definitely recommend this place! You should try the Salmon Lovers box or classic box when you go. If you don't place an order ahead of time, it only takes 15 min to get your food. There are two tables inside if you would like to enjoy your sushi inside the restaurant. It's a cute spot!

I am obsessed with Dozo! I can't stop ordering here! Very good quality at a reasonable price. I hope they eventually expand and open more locations across dfw!!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while after seeing it online and how good the sushi looked. Unfortunately this seems like one of those places that charges more for aesthetics and "instagramability" rather than quality of food. The sushi was good but way overpriced. I have no problem paying more for good quality sushi, but the salmon lovers box was around $40 with tip and tasted the same as when I get $25 sushi. The inside is very cute and clean. The service was excellent too. The woman that helped me was informative and very friendly. Like I said, this place is about aesthetics. I really liked how nice the packaging was. I'll be using that bag to take my lunch to work now until it falls apart haha!

Parking: Located in a strip mall...so there was plenty of free parking. Interior: Small but cute interior. It makes sense though since the concept is "to-go" and not "dine-in." Service: I was able to order online and the process was simple - there was no need to create an account and you can check out as a guest. When I picked it up, they were a bit behind since they were busy. But it wasn't too much of a wait. Food: I ordered the Classic Box. The nigiri and rolls were fresh and flavorful. And the nigiri had big cuts of fish. It was well worth it! Drinks: Sakura Matcha Latte (cold) was a bit sweet for me but tasty nonetheless. The matcha latte (hot) was super smooth. FYI - they use ceremonial matcha. Final thoughts: I can't wait to go back to try their other box options! I highly recommend this place if you want sushi to go! Two thumbs up from me! :)

Dozo Sushi is located in the same center as Tea Daddy. The service was good. My husband came to pickup our order and the staff were super sweet explaining what was what in the boxes. The food was decent as well. I like the concept of fresh togo sushi boxes for lunch or dinner.

Measuring the ceremonial matcha for our drinks

If you want takeout sushi, trust the professionals at Dozo. Everything is expertly packaged for the trip home and arrives just as good as it looks when they have it to you at the restaurant. We also got some matcha Mulholland drinks, and it was quite the presentation to watch. They mix ceremonial grade matcha right while you wait, and the mango flavor tasted like real, fresh fruit. Definitely will go back.

However, the past two times we shared this place with another couple who loves sushi just as much as my husband and I do. One reason we kept coming back, aside from all the delicious food, was how they labeled their menu with the top food allergens. As a food allergy mom, I appreciated this so much! Especially when I was still breastfeeding, I had to eliminate all of my daughter's allergies to breastfeed safely. The main ones I had to look out for was gluten, dairy, egg, nuts, and sesame seeds. The safe was aware of my limitations and shared empathy, not annoyance like other places. T Thankfully I'm out of that stage so I can eat anything on the menu now. We would like to take our daughter here some day, she loves sushi a lot! But being only 5 years old, we'll need to save it for a special occasion. We get carried away when we come here. The food here is top notch and worth every penny, so we'll have to save up. Cooked dishes we always order: Brussel sprouts, steamed mushrooms, hamachi collar and miso cod. All the nigiri/sushi is fresh and you can't ignore the specials or seasonal menu!

Having lived in Hawaii, we ate sushi, sashimi, and poke on a regular basis. Finding spots like this allows us to create new memories while also feeling a bit nostalgic for the flavors we love. We might have gone a little overboard, but everything was incredible! We ordered the Crunchy Eel Roll, Hamachi Nigiri, and Tuna Nigiri, along with two of the EBESU Course menus. My husband had the Chirashi Don and I went with the Toro Tekka Don. Love, love, love. As you can see, it was a lot of food, but every single piece was cooked and cut to perfection. The dishes are very easy to share, and I think next time we'll lean into that more so we can sample even more of the menu. If you are looking for authentic, high-quality Japanese food, this is the place to go!

I'd like to start by saying this is some of my favorite gyoza I've ever had, including when I visited Japan. This is a must get. The sauce was delightful, the outside was perfect with a crunchy bottom and soft top, and the filling was delicious. Well worth $7. My bf got some calamari ring tempura, which was fine but we got a small portion compared to when we usually get calamari. There was only like 3 big rings and 2 small on the plate. I also got a Gyu sushi to try. Was it worth $4.50? Maybe, maybe not but I enjoyed it and it was a much higher quality than the beef sushi at say Kura. Now my Beef Yakisoba was questionable honestly. Smaller portion than I'm used to, the beef tasted awkwardly like hamburg and was chewy, and the sauce it was stir fried in was really sweet and thick, almost like honey. Someone might like it but for $18 it wasn't what I expected and wasn't to my tastes Bf got a Charashi bowl for $25 and stated it was mid as expected for the price. I think we would return, but IMO our food was a mixed bag.
