I can't really pinpoint out 1 dish that was good, they all were. The peppers, however, I could go without it. My friend asked for them to remake it, just b/c it was extremely spicy. We are always looking for new sushi spots, so we tried Sushi Hana. Three sushi chefs standing around, barely any customers--promising start, right? We ordered the Ahi Tuna Tower, Orange Blossom Roll, and Dragon Roll. These are our go-to "items" to see how a place stacks up against the competition. By the end of our dinner, we regretted every life choice that led us to cheat on our favorite sushi restaurant literally located across the street! First, the Ahi Tuna Tower. Tiny portion, overpriced, and drowned in teriyaki sauce (see my pics). If you need to smother raw fish in sauce, it's probably not fresh. Red flag #1. Next, the Orange Blossom Roll. Small sad bite sized pieces (see pic), the tuna was nearly black, smelled fishy, and it was chewy. We sent it back. To their credit, they took it off the bill. But at that point, we abandoned the Tuna Tower altogether because... why gamble getting sick? The Dragon Roll followed. Also small in size for the price, didn't match the picture on the menu but was somewhat edible. I feel like Kroger sushi would have been a better option. The wait staff stayed polite even though our disappointment was practically radiating across the room. When asked, "How was your dinner?" we gave the safest answer possible: "It was okay." Oddly, no manager showed up to our table .. on a Friday night. On a positive note, they allow BYOB--which honestly feels like part of the business model. Went to try this place out as it was recommended by a friend. The place is small but super cute inside with cherry blossom flowers on the ceiling. The food was overall good, we ordered x2 salmon rolls, yellowtail roll and Louisiana roll. The sushi rolls are on the smaller side for the salmon and yellowtail. Louisiana was normal size but a bit on the thin side. I personally liked the size portion. We also had shrimp shumai to start and that was really good and pretty decent sized for 2pcs prized at $2.50. Our server was also nice and pretty attentive. RUN HERE NOW!! They just opened now under the name Sushi Hana and even though it's past the grand opening deals, they have half price for particular items for the next couple of weeks. SO GO and try lots on their menu for a good price!! I got the salmon tower and I don't think I've ever had a salmon tower but it was good! I could tell the salmon was a good cut and was super tasty. HOWEVER I think there was WAYY too much sauce on the plate because when I mixed it, it got super saucy that it overpowered all the other flavors. That is my only complaint. I will probably come back here to try their rolls because the fish quality is pretty solid. They also gave us free vanilla ice cream which was super nice, but it tasted kinda funny (not bad just different). Great service, super cool and attentive (a little too much but it's okay hehe). The sushi here is great. Zero fishy smells and great new twists to some classic rolls. This place might be part of a strip mall but it is a well hidden secret of Plano. This place is a BYOB restaurant with no corkage fee. I tried 4 specialty rolls and they were all tasty and wonderful. The wife loved every one of the rolls as well, which if you are married, you know we found a unicorn of a place. The rolls came out quickly and were in pretty nice presentation. Service was quick maybe a little too quick but with a little tenure should be fine sooner than later. read more

I came here looking for Sushi Akira without noticing the name change. Sushi is fresh - that's important to note. Staff is friendly. I liked the tempura menu. You can select your own choice of items 2 pieces at a time with no significant up-charge. The wasabi is a texture less paste that gets squeezed out of a tube. The katsu bowl was soggy in a "not freshly fried meat" way and very unappealing. The restaurant would do better to not offer such poorly prepared dishes at all. Not likely to return. read more

This place was gooood, i ordered them on uber eats and they had a great buy one get one deal so thought we'd try them in person and they have a fun promotion happening of free sake in june for dine in. their spicy tuna roll is the perfect level of spicy. we also got the salmon roll and some roll with crawfish. everything was amazing. i didn't know the were BYOB before showing up and they don't sell alcohol there so next time will definitely bring my own bottle of wine. but also they have some great togo offers, definitely recommend checking out their website. service was also very attentive and great! read more

Their selection was a bit less than their neighbor (sushi sakana). The sushi was too big, the rice to fish ratio was so uneven. My once favorite Akari sushi is now Sushi Hana. The restaurant has been redecorated and a new menu. Hubby got the tonkatsu bento and I got the tuna tower. The tuna tower could have been better: - About the same price as before. - Used to be large enough to share, but it is now an appetizer almost enough for one person. - The tuna is minced and no longer chunks of tuna. - The crab portion was stingy. - There was way too much sauce (meant for more of a western pallet.) - Had to ask for ginger and wasabi. Hubby said his bento box was lots better than my tuna tower. Seems like the sushi has changed for more western pallet than leaning on the authentic style. read more

Wanted a bento box and Tokyo Harbor was closed (it was a Monday) so I found this place thru a Google search. Drove 15+ more minutes in the opposite direction of work to get there. First problem I had with it is there is NOTHING else on the "lunch menu" but rolls. Fine if you want sushi, sucks if you don't. So I'm paying a pricey dinner price for a lunch-sized bento box. Second issue- I asked if I could upgrade my rice to fried- no, the girl said. Not even for an upcharge? "No." Ok. Third issue- the gyoza was weird. Don't know what was in it, didn't bother to ask, but it was like beans or something- not like any gyoza I've ever had. And it wasn't served with a gyoza sauce as is typical. The California roll was just- eh. Best I can say about it is that it did taste fresh. The salad didn't have a separate ginger salad dressing like most places I've had it, just the ginger sauce they serve on the side with dishes. Weird. Too strong for a topping for salad, in my opinion. Now for the worst of all... I got the beef teriyaki bento box and it was literally the worst excuse for "beef teriyaki" I've ever had. The meat was sinewy and sparse and had little to no flavor- teriyaki or otherwise! I wanted to like this place, but it was a big fat no from me.
