Sushi Spot is part of a food court of sorts, all Asian cuisines, yet the warm wood chairs give it a very different feel than mall food courts. We ordered from a cool and up to date touch screen. Luckily one of my friends knew to get miso soup to go along ; it's a nice counterpoint, especially when the AC is going strong. We did not have long to look around before our order was ready. My friends tried to help me with the chopsticks, but luckily forks are available. We got a California Roll, a Dragon Roll and a Crunch Roll- I think, check photo below. Sushi Spot has always been one of my go-to eateries in the Jusgo Food Court; I always get their Chef's Mistake, which is a sashimi salad on top of a freshly made California Roll. I've noticed in the past year that the portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller and the price has also gone up a bit, which is sad -- fish is still super fresh and the dish is still very tasty, but it's pretty obvious how much less sashimi salad they give you now. I will still continue to order here but it's not quite as good a deal as it used to be. Most recently I tried one of their newer curry dishes and enjoyed it! More affordable than the sushi options, I got it with the yakitori which was quite tender and tasty. The curry itself is a dark brown (maybe more Kanazawa style?) and has a really nice flavor plus a bit of a kick. Came with a small cup of miso soup and a side salad as well. Drinks, food, desserts, you name it, its at this location. Most places you can order ok a kiosk or pay at the register, service is pretty fast. We stopped here for dinner on a Friday evening and it was decently packed with people ordering from a variety of places within the food court. For Sushi Spot, you order at a self-serve kiosk which was super easy, and our food was ready in about 10ish minutes. We tried the salmon hand roll, karaage, hot night roll, and pork belly bento box. The fish tasted quite fresh, and the hot night roll had a bunch of different textures that worked well together (plus the sauces definitely packed some heat!). What a great first time experience at this spot! When we walked into the food court, the environment felt inviting and it smelled amazing. We ordered on the kiosk which was super easy and efficient. They had our food ready fast. We ordered 1 miso soup (which they were kind to divide into two cups for my husband and I), a yellowtail hand roll, takoyaki, curry rice & yakitori entree, 911 roll, and rainbow roll. The only reason I would rate a 4 is because there aren't many different options for sushi. The options they have are good but I typically go for the more decadent rolls when going out for sushi so most likely won't be back here. VIBES This place is located in the food court next to Jusgo. There is a lot of seating available and this place is great for hanging out. If I wanted to choose a sushi place to hang out at, it would probably be this one because the place isn't too crowded and there are a lot of other options to choose from around if sushi isn't your thing. SERVICE Service is amazing. Last time I came to the place around lunchtime, they gave us extra portions and directions to ensure that the food we were taking out would taste good when we ate it at home. This time when I ordered the poke, the person at the register said they were out of salmon; however, the chef came into the conversation and said he could still make it. There was salmon in the dish which was very kind of him to put the salmon in. I read about this place on Yelps Top 100 and was shocked to see a north Dallas location in a food hall. I had to check it out. We got two rolls and gyoza just to try it out.
