fried squid legs and chef's mistake roll (sashimi salad on top of california roll)
    Lucy M.

Sushi Spot has always been one of my go-to eateries in the Jusgo Food Court; I always get their Chef's Mistake, which is a sashimi salad on top of a freshly made California Roll. I've noticed in the past year that the portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller and the price has also gone up a bit, which is sad -- fish is still super fresh and the dish is still very tasty, but it's pretty obvious how much less sashimi salad they give you now. I will still continue to order here but it's not quite as good a deal as it used to be. Most recently I tried one of their newer curry dishes and enjoyed it! More affordable than the sushi options, I got it with the yakitori which was quite tender and tasty. The curry itself is a dark brown (maybe more Kanazawa style?) and has a really nice flavor plus a bit of a kick. Came with a small cup of miso soup and a side salad as well. Good option for anyone looking for some Japanese curry in the food court!

HOLY OPTIONS! This is a legit authentic Asian food court situation. There are over 7 different food kiosks inside this building and there is an authentic option for everyone! Drinks, food, desserts, you name it, its at this location. Most places you can order ok a kiosk or pay at the register, service is pretty fast. It d9es get super busy in here on the weekends but it is worth the cultural experience and the food has neve ever been bad. Anything you get, you'll be happy you at least tried it. This is a good to spot often. Come with an appetite.

Best sushi ever! The owner explains everything and is very personable. He cares about the quality and your feedback Amazing quality food - sashimi, miso soup, pot stickers, eel sauce, literally everything was the best we've had. The tuna and salmon just melts in your mouth. I decided to go here because of another review. This Needs 10 stars! You have to go here if you want to taste real sushi. 308J when you go inside the food court, they are straight ahead

Unassuming place for sushi and other Japanese fare located in an Asian food court right by 99 Ranch! We stopped here for dinner on a Friday evening and it was decently packed with people ordering from a variety of places within the food court. For Sushi Spot, you order at a self-serve kiosk which was super easy, and our food was ready in about 10ish minutes. We tried the salmon hand roll, karaage, hot night roll, and pork belly bento box. The fish tasted quite fresh, and the hot night roll had a bunch of different textures that worked well together (plus the sauces definitely packed some heat!). The bento box was also quite good and came with gyozas, California roll pieces, salad, and soup. Only the karaage didn't quite meet our expectations as the batter was different than anything I've had before for karaage.

Their sushi is nothing less than amazing! It's inside the little food court, and seating is plentiful... there are a couple options that look good, but honestly do not miss out on the sushi!! Hands-down some of the best sushi I've had in a long time! They were quick and friendly and explained everything we ordered. Price is on par with other spots and their combos are very fairly priced.

Best Sushi in DFW ...and that's not just hyperbole! Tucked in the modest food court...Sushi Spot's offerings are anything but modest. The fish is fresh, the service is excellent and the presentation is absolutely impeccable! Had the Hot Night roll yesterday and it was delicious, looked great and great value for money.

My friends and I tried Sushi Spot within the Asian Mart, due to highly positive reviews. Sadly, my experience left much to be desired. Food: - Crunch Roll (5/10): Despite high hopes, the Crunch Roll fell short of expectations. Its taste was forgettable, lacking any distinctive flavors. Moreover, the disappointment of having to pay extra for basic condiments like wasabi and spicy mayo further dampened the experience. Regrettably, Sushi Spot failed to leave a lasting impression. I am unlikely to revisit this establishment anytime soon. In conclusion, while Sushi Spot may be convenient for those already perusing the Asian Mart, discerning sushi enthusiasts may find more satisfying options elsewhere in the culinary landscape of DFW. impression. Spicy tuna with no sauce

I'm disappointed. I get the counter to build my own bowl and the prices for the toppings on the build card do not match what I was charged. They need to update the cards to reflect what they are charging. My credit card was also charged before I was told they didn't have tuna yet. I believe knowing what proteins you have in stock is important. I settled with spicy tuna. I get home to eat my bowl and there is NO SAUCE! The bowl still tasted fine but I would like to have what I ordered especially if I'm tipping for your service. I'll give this spot another try ... The employees were nice and the food came quickly. They are located in a food court.

Located within the food court to the right of Jusgo Asian grocery store. How this is 5 stars I will never understand. The sushi pieces are huge! Bigger does not mean better. ;/- No ponzu sauce. Best to bring your own! They have soy sauce, but that's too salty personally. No sauce for me today and that's ok. I don't like crab filler period. I thought I checked all the boxes before ordering. I apparently didn't and the Hot Night Roll has a lot of fake crab in it. Ugh. I was able to avoid cream cheese filling too! Phew! The spicy salmon roll was good. What I expected. They use a nice chili pepper to season the salmon. PLUS! If you want water, you have to pay for it. It's a bottled, Ozarka,16oz. Or you can walk 2 ft and order a boba tea!!! This is a food court, and there are multiple tables to choose from. They do have a person that buses all the tables. I'd go back, but I'll pay better attention to the menu when ordering! They don't have a lot of rolls to choose from on the dine in menu. The ingredients are not listed, you have to ask what each roll contains. However, one of the chefs did say he could make anything if I asked! I like that! April 2023

The three of us ordered a variety of sushi rolls and shared them. We went with a wide variety of options and found it was hard to land on just one favorite as a result. They offer options with some unique variations (e.g. like the North Texas roll that is topped with guacamole and baked with spices). The prices were reasonable, and I will say the width of each piece was on the smaller end, and we still walked away very satisfied with the amount of our meal. The service was on the slower side. They got slammed shortly after we got there and said they don't typically have that much of a crowd on a Sunday night so it caught them off guard. The restaurants seating area is cozy with a warm ambiance.

God bless her there was only one waitress for all the guests and I could tell she was very overwhelmed. It took one girl I was with over an hour to get any of her rolls and we had to remind our waitress. The salmon I got was really good and it said it came with the Japanese vegetables and I literaly only got 2 small carrots and 2 small potatoe slices, I love vegetables so this was extremely dissapointing.

I got gyoza and Katsu Don, and my partner got a Charashi Bowl and Red Clam sushi. The gyoza I'd say was above average and pleasantly crispy. The provided salad was pleasant with a strong citrusy ginger flavor. The Red Clam sushi had wasabi hidden underneath the meat, so keep that in mind if you're a spice baby like myself. My partner described the Charashi bowl as good, especially for the price. My Katsu Don is where I felt everything fell a little flat. It was overly sweet, the rice underneath tasted a bit stale and like nothing, and the katsu itself was a bit too moist and no longer crispy on the outside. However, I must note that it was an impressive $13, when I feel the usual is more like over $20, for a decent amount. The waitstaff brought us these lovely pre-peeled and cut oranges with the check and they were a nice touch to the meal. Overall we had a decent, pleasant experience here!

I'd like to start by saying this is some of my favorite gyoza I've ever had, including when I visited Japan. This is a must get. The sauce was delightful, the outside was perfect with a crunchy bottom and soft top, and the filling was delicious. Well worth $7. My bf got some calamari ring tempura, which was fine but we got a small portion compared to when we usually get calamari. There was only like 3 big rings and 2 small on the plate. I also got a Gyu sushi to try. Was it worth $4.50? Maybe, maybe not but I enjoyed it and it was a much higher quality than the beef sushi at say Kura. Now my Beef Yakisoba was questionable honestly. Smaller portion than I'm used to, the beef tasted awkwardly like hamburg and was chewy, and the sauce it was stir fried in was really sweet and thick, almost like honey. Someone might like it but for $18 it wasn't what I expected and wasn't to my tastes Bf got a Charashi bowl for $25 and stated it was mid as expected for the price. I think we would return, but IMO our food was a mixed bag.
