Great atmosphere. Awesome customer service. Came here with my husband to celebrate our 9th anniversary together and the food was amazing. Ask for my man Kiet , he got you taken care of and covered! Thank you Kiet!!!

This isn't your traditional sushi, it's fusion, but it's good. You're not going to find the long-established edomae style sushi at Yujo or are you going to get the more exotic fish (kohada, iwashi, sawara, etc), but what you will get is a good omakase experience. Yujo enhances their nigiri pieces by putting tasty sauces on top and some of them are pretty creative: salted egg yolk, fish sauce, etc.. Their rice isn't bad either... not as "vinegary" as some other places. I went on a Thursday night to take advantage of their 20 courses - $100/person omakase "deal". If you sit at the bar, the chefs are friendly and will engage with you. If you want a really over the top piece, order the "Big Mac". It literally has like 6 things in it.

This is the Yujo cut roll... delicious sauce!

Best Asian food I've had in California, Boston, Michigan, Baltimore and now Texas. I had the Volcano and Yujo cut rolls and Mmmm... SO good! Wish I could eat more. I'm going to fast then try the Omakase option. The mille crepes as well!

Return or not return? Maybe. T-Thurs 20 course Omakase for $100/pp. including tip. Food decent but not mind blowing. They are really the same Kyodai (old name), but now re-branded with nice decorative restaurant upgrades. Many of the same staff. Decided to treat my kids before they head back to school. Both enjoyed their meals, but we joked why they say no tipping. Service was spotty. Fast delivery of the overhyped first 3 courses, then a long wait. Not your traditional Omakase, but I understand. They do 5 nigiri at a time. Something one does periodically as food was ok. What actually ticked me off was I got charged $2 for a gob of Sriracha. Tacky! Hate to say it, but little things like this could veer me away. We just paid $300 for food!!!

We had the omakase $100 special that's available on tues-thurs that includes 20 dishes. Because of the price I didn't expect that much, especially because I've been to the salmon nigiri special nights at the other Yujo location. This Yujo location proved me wrong! All the pieces were high quality: They didn't skimp out on any of the fish, caviar, and uni. Every piece was unique and flavorful, and even the ube coconut ice cream dessert was fantastic. The presentation of every dish was also very pretty, and we also enjoyed talking to the sushi chefs throughout the entire night. It has a nice modern vibe to it and I think it can suit any occasion. Will definitely be back!

My daughter and son-in-law have been telling me for years about a place they go for sushi that's simply amazing, and what a treat it was to finally visit. I had expected something similar to my favorite sushi spots, but maybe with a few outstanding special rolls. Yujo Umi was so much more. My son and son-in-law ordered the traditional omakase. My daughter chose a waygu roll and a couple hand rolls. I elected to try the 16-course omakase special ($100 with the tip included in the price) and added an oyster and waygu nigiri. I had no idea how good sushi could be. I could be mad at myself for not taking more pictures, but the bliss I experienced with every course left me somewhat entranced. The waitstaff explained each course, and next time I'll know to jot them down. Everything was so fresh and buttery. For the dessert, I chose an yuzu ice cream adorned with frosted corn flakes. It was the perfect ending to a meal I didn't want to end. They have apparently remodeled the place, and it has a nice ambiance. The staff was attentive without hovering, and so friendly. This will definitely not be my last visit.

Had a reservation for Omasake and the food was delicious! We were seated at a booth even though I thought we'd be sat in front of the chefs at the bar for the experience. Regardless most the food came out within 10 minutes of the next dish. It's more casual than fancy which is odd for the prices.

They finally reopened!! We came for their "we're back" special which is 20% off their menu not including their drinks. Everything was amazing!!! The workers were so attentive and helpful it was a great experience. The fish was so fresh I was in love. My favorite was the oyster shooters and the Foie gras with chu toro, they were so good I had to get another order of both to end the meal! I would definitely be back, and would definitely recommend going this month while the special is still going on!!

My hairstylist said great things about this place, so I had to try it out. They have a discount on Thursdays, but I could only go on the weekend. Formerly Kyodai, this restaurant is known for their omakase. We went on a Saturday night. Omakase was $110 per person with a set menu. We were seated right away with no wait time. There was the option to sit at the bar or table. Restroom was clean. The service was excellent and very attentive. Our waters were constantly refilled. Once we were done with one dish, we were immediately given the next item. The waitresses were very knowledgeable in presenting and explaining the ingredients of each dish given that it was during their soft opening. They were also very friendly with a smile on their faces. The presentation of each dish was nice. Having my fair share of omakase, I would say the food tasted average. There wasn't anything that stood out. Some of my favorites were the fatty salmon with uni and silky smooth egg custard. Overall, it was great place for date night. I probably wouldn't make the far drive to go here unless I'm in the area.

Came in on Tuesday night with reservation. We picked Ultimate Omakase course. The sushi is fresh and delicate. My favorite is Unagi-Fois Gras, which is really balanced, not too fatty/greasy even with goose liver.

Great food, poor service. I ate here on my birthday and they do not do anything special for birthdays. They did not even wish me a happy birthday despite me adding it was my birthday on the reservation. Someone sitting next to me wanted to buy me oysters and a birthday shot but I was told my time slot for my reservation was over and I was asked to leave. I will not be coming here again. Which is unfortunate considering it was delicious. For the price there are much better options for a special occasion.

My girlfriend made reservations to try the $100 omakase special. It was 20 courses I believe. I didn't realize this place used to be Kyodai Handroll Bar. Definitely changed the interior design, and it's quite beautiful. A different vibe for sure. The $100 omakase had a nice selection of nigiri, cold plates, and a Handroll. I also ordered extra off the regular menu to try. Service here was good, our waitress was nice. I enjoyed all the nigiri pieces very much, this place has a great quality in fish. Some prices for the specialty rolls and fish were a tad higher than other omakase places. Presentation was beautiful, however some of the flavor combos on the cold tastings were just ok. Nothing was truly memorable, except the Hirame Kosho, that was probably the best tasting dish. Some of the others were lacking the flavors. Cool spot for sushi, can't say I won't be back but also can't say if I would purposely make a trip back out to Frisco to go back. But if you live in the area, their fish quality is great!

We used to come to this restaurant before this was Yujo Umi. It was good but boy, they are SO MUCH BETTER NOW! Every piece of omakase is a masterpiece in flavor. Very carefully and well-crafted. My husband cannot stop making the "hmmm!! HMMM!! YUMM" sounds. We had the 16 course omakase, I could not eat all. It's alot yall! Service is outstanding. We are celebrating My husband's bday here and they gv him a lil cake to celebrate. We have tried UCHI couple times, honestly this restaurant offers better flavors. It's very fresh. Also more affordable! So yeah I would recommend this place better than UCHI. Our server diligently kept checking on us. Offering to refill our tea often. She is very good! Ambiance is cozy. Intimate, beautiful, and elegant. We will come back every month..

Cute place. The service is nice but I can't remember a single bite being fabulous. It's good place for hangouts and meet ups.

Good service, exceptional atmosphere, good food…read more I ordered the Edoko #1 roll, pumpkin tempura, and squid tempura. The Pumpkin and Squid Tempura was nothing special, but was good. The Edoko #1 roll was the standout of my meal. Most rolls that have this many ingredients are mediocre because none of the ingredients are distinguishable, but this roll was great and presented very well. My only gripe would be that the roll was hard to fit in one's mouth My partner got some robata, pork Gyoza, and the hot stone beef. The robata was good, and the pork Gyoza was great, but the hot rock was disappointing. The beef was extremely thin and you only got a few pieces. Cooking on the rock was difficult, causing the beef to stick and shred. Finally, the beef was served with a large portion of regular slice mushrooms that seems to still have the dirt from the package on them.

Came here for our weekly date night as regular customers of these types of restaurants…read more Bf ordered Calamari, tempura pumpkin and the signature roll #1. I got gyoza, yakitori chicken, yakiniku short ribs, and the hot rock. The gyoza was more equivalent to mandu (had rice noodles inside, and a lot more fried and crispy than usual gyoza), but I enjoyed it alright for the price. My chicken was average at best and lacked flavor even with the sauce it was drenched in. The short ribs were the highlight of what I ordered, and had good grill taste and plenty more than I thought I would be receiving. The hot plate however was incredibly gimmicky, even more so than I expected. The meat was flavorless even when dipped in ponzu and even with the provided butter it stuck horribly to the rock. The mushrooms weren't that impressive either, and you get maybe 7 tiny slices of beef. Do not get this dish if you come here. Bf enjoyed his pumpkin and calamari but said the tempura skin lacked flavor. However, he greatly enjoyed his sushi roll for the price and noted he would get it again. Overall, for the food I personally received, it was average at best and for sure overpriced. You can get similar better food nearby at a better price at Umiya off of Preston. I personally do not really wish to return for the price tag. Note that parking here was a bit crowded on a Friday night. We parked a 3-5 min walk away.
