We stumbled upon this place when looking to see where we could spend our expiring inkind cash back. The place was pretty slow on a Sunday night and had a cartoon playing on tv. The restaurant in general was dimly lit and relatively moody. Before I go in depth on what we ordered, here's my verdict and reasoning for the rating: The fish itself seemed like it was of good quality. You may then ask: if that's the case, why the 3 stars Salman? Service. Service was the reason. Our server and the speed at which we were getting our food was pretty lackluster. And our server, simply wasn't on top of stuff. She would disappear for long stretches and wouldn't come back to either check on us or to even take our order in the beginning. For instance, when I started ordering nigiri's, she had to stop me because while she initially thought, she could remember everything, she realized it would be better to write things down. What a fantastic thought. The chefs were very kind, but slow. We wanted to order another escolar nigiri and potentially more items, but refrained from doing so, just because of how long everything else took. Here's all that we ordered: - Hama chili: the yellowtail seemed fresh and was a good indication that the fish would be good. The dish itself wasn't the best hamachiili we've had. - Cherry blossom: rice less roll that was better than expected. Here are the nigiri's we ordered: - Flounder: sweet. Not very chewy - Escolar: buttery, torched but no smoky flavor, good. Top 3. - Hamachi: flat and lacked flavor. Would've liked some more ponzu or spice - Saketoro: slightly fishy. Went down very smooth though - Kinemedai: very fresh. Slightly bitter. - Masunosake: also very flat. We won't order salmon here again. - Otoro: fantastic. Smooth and buttery. Our favorite - Otoro handroll: basic but the fish was spectacular.
I've dined here twice for date nights and had a pleasant experience both times, the restaurant always has a friendly hostess greeting us and it's always clean and a nice ambience. It's a traditional Japanese restaurant with really great dishes, they offer sushi as well as Ramen. The sushi is always fresh and A1. I loved the surf and turf roll the best! You can never go wrong with their calamari and seaweed salad. The muscles were really good everything is very flavorful. I really enjoy the cocktails as well, definitely bookmark this restaurant and check them out!
Musashi is a lovely restaurant reflecting a contemporary style. The staff is focused and nice, and food comes out fast. The wagyu was incredibly good quality and practically melted in your mouth. All of the rolls were high quality and delicious. There is literally nothing bad to say about any of them! The sashimi was delicious and naturally buttery. We also enjoyed the blue crab fried rice, and you can guess that it was also delicious. Overall we really enjoyed this place and it's definitely on the top of our sushi list for places in Dallas!
The only thing good about this place was the service. The inside is ordinary. The food was average at best but you can get it at any fast food sushi place. Vegetarian sushi, hama sushi and the sushi rolls were average. The calamari was pretty good. The location is so nice so I wish the restaurant had better tasting/upscale sushi.
Had a quick staycation in the area, decided later in the evening to get out to grab some food. Very pleased with our decision. Intimate but casual spot, TVs in the bar area but not loud or distracting. Music played in the background, again not loud or distracting. Food Ordered- Calamari Crab Fried Rice Roll (can't remember name) Great portion and taste for everything. Service- Great, our waitress was nice & patient. Didn't hover but we always had everything we needed. We don't live close enough in the area to throw it in our rotation but if we did it definitely would be a spot we came back to.
Fantastic find from my friend. We came in for happy hour and ordered pretty much all the appetizers lol. The fries were a hit with my child and table we ordered more. The house made gyoza were fantastic and flavorful. The miso sauce that these were topped with was really good and paired well with the dish. The karaage chicken was really tasty. It was marinated chicken fried and came with a side of mayo which was really good. We ended our meal with the assorted mochi. The strawberry flavor was my favorite. Our service was great. We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed this sushi restaurant as the happy hour is pretty good. We split a handful of the appetizers as they were decently priced. The edamame was pretty good, chicken karaage was the one of the favorites, and the potstickers were good as well. Staff were friendly and attentive for the most part. I'll definitely come back and try the sushi next time.
Very good sushi. Great unique combinations. The portions are not large but wasn't looking for a lot. If you eat a lot you will need to order two or three rolls. We had the geisha roll and the naruto. This was a unique roll with a cucumber roll on the outside. Service was ok but given there were only two customer tables it was a bit slow. There were two of us and one roll can out way before the other.
3/5 Food 5/5 Service We came in on a Tuesday night and were quickly seated. The server was prompt at getting our order and checking in on us throughout the evening. The food itself was a mixed bag for us. Our favorites were the shishito peppers and hamachi kama (came in literally smoking)! Flavorful with good textures. The Geisha roll is worth trying too! It's likely because this restaurant is Japanese fusion, but we felt the shiitake agagedashi could use some salt. The butter and mushrooms had a great umami flavor, but I just needed a pinch of salt to remind myself of a classic agedashi dish. The hamachi chili was good by ingredients... though we felt the orange was overpowering compared to the yellowtail. Lastly, the madai crudo was alright. Nothing too special to write home about. Overall, perhaps we needed to select other dishes for a fuller experience.
Had a couple rolls - those were good. I'd definitely recommend them over the nigiri. We ordered the nigiri tasting that was okay... average at best. Some of the fish were fishy. The star of the show was our server, Cheris! I'd definitely recommend sitting in her section if you give this place a try.

They were able to accommodate our big party. The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant has good ambiance, lighting & good vibes. This would be good for a lunch date or nice dinner date as well! Drinks: The cocktails and sake flight were great! The cocktails weren't too sweet and the sake flight was clean/crisp and refreshing which paired well with our sushi. You can have sushi without sake but why would you? 8) Appetizer: I got the Shiitake Agedashi. Spectacular I'll take 14 of them. The aroma/umami flavor of the dish. You wouldn't really think anything of it (if you're not a foodie) but I KNEW. I had to get it. (It was also recommended.) You wouldn't regret it especially if you're vegetarian... but also won't regret it if you aren't a vegetarian. Anyways get it. Sushi: We really enjoyed the Paradise Roll had spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, eel, avocado, eel sauce. Geisha Roll was really good too! It had a variety of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, masago, avocado, cucumber. The fish was really fresh and I would order these again. We also got some pieces of toro with caviar that just melted into your mouth. Not pictured: Ramen! the flavor was 10/10. I had some of my friends. It's so worth it. Strong umami flavors. spectacular give me 14 of them.
Beautiful elegant restaurant with lots of windows, even on a rainey day it was bright in the restaurant. We had a party of 7 and had a reservation, still there were tables available. Definitely a great spot for a cozy dinner on a Sunday evening. I had to get the pomegranate salmon which was on a special menu. You can specify how you want your salmon cooked (go for medium!! It's so good!). The lotus root chips and sweet potato mash were devine. To go with, I also got the shishito peppers (my favorite) and tofu shiitake mushroom app. My dad got the cucumber salad app and it has a hint of spice! Very refreshing. We also ordered salmon sashimi, karage, tom kha, assorted sashimi over salad, vegetable tempura, eel nigiri... Everything was beautifully plated and delicious and came out staggered. Staff is very friendly and bonus we ordered hot water for 3 of us and it actually came out! My parents love it so much they already made plans to come back when their summer guests visit.
So I found this place over yelp randomly and decided to give it a try. We went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon, we didn't need a reservation. They have a parking deck right in front so it was a breeze. The interiors are classy and comfortable. Perfect for work related as well as personal dinners/lunches. We decided to get the appetizers and got the spicy edamame, shishito peppers and chicken karage. We loved the spicy edamame the best. The sauce on the edamame was fabulous. For the mains , my friend and I got a bunch of nigiris and sashimi to try. My husband got the tonkonsu ramen. Let me tell you the ramen broth is cooked for over 24 hours and it's the BEST broth I've ever had in the US. It tasted so amazing, it transported us mentally to Japan! The umami was amazing. Our nigiris were fabulous, we kept reordering because the fish was so fresh, soft and sweet. We like the albacore, yellow tail and some kind of cod, I believe which tasted like butter!! The chef was so nice, he threw in some of his favorites as complimentary nigiris for us to try. They were fantastic. Overall as a sushi snob, I approve this place! I'll be back when I am in the area for sure.
Nice design a good sushi. I went during happy hour and got some great deals. The decor is pretty nice and there's about 20 tables. Lots of parking spaces outside. The sushi was fresh. Checked out this place with my friend tonight. The restaurant gives off very cozy vibes and its nice inside. I thought the our restaurant waiter Anne was really kind and explained each dish perfectly. The service was great in my opinion. The food was also very good. I got the spicy garlic edamame, the surf and Turf sushi roll, and a saki drink. My friend got the Gaisha and cherry blossom roll. Our favorites were the cherry blossom roll and the surf and turf roll. We also ended up sharing a tempura roll platter. Everything was amazing from service and quality of food. I highly recommend this location. read more

The only thing good about this place was the service. The inside is ordinary. The food was average at best but you can get it at any fast food sushi place. My first visit left such a positive impression that I couldn't resist coming back a second time in the same week! The menu is simple, but every dish sounded so exquisite and tempting. Highly recommend! For small plates, we got the Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab which was perfect for us seafood lovers. For soups, we got the Tonkatsu and Shoyu on separate occasions, and out of the two, Shoyu was our favorite. I usually prefer the milkier broth, but that one was too salty to my taste. The Shoyu broth was just perfect! For hot plates, we had to get the Seafood Udon Pasta which did not disappoint. But the star of the show for us had to be the Hamachi Collar. We always get Hamachi Collar at Japanese restaurants, but Musashi provided the freshest and most value Hamachi Collar we've ever had. I need to come back for the nigiris and sashimis, but we did try the Geisha roll and loved it! The atmosphere was nice and the service was exceptional. Hoping to come back many more times. read more

Overall ambiance is okay. For the price of everything you would think the decor and vibe would be nicer. Customer service and timing of the food to come out and great. The entrees are a good size. I ordered the seared duck; I thought there would be a nice crisp to the duck skin but there wasn't. The season was still good & the duck was nice and tender. read more
Stopped on for a quick Happy Hour at the spot tucked just off of Dallas North Tollway. Best calamari ever! It was fresh with a perfect golden fry and very, tender. Service was top tier, but we also were the only people there. I do wish the staff would have informed us what was actually available on their happy hour menu. I would recommend this quaint spot for a quick drink or even a cozy date night. read more

I love this place, been going here for about 100 times. Never has failed me, so good, i get a bento box and it's a perfect amount of food, we love the veggie tempura, and he gets the shrimp and chefs fish selections. the ambience is great vibes hit. bathrooms are noiceee. read more
Such a fabulous place to dine here in Frisco! My hubby and I go at least once a week and it is always consistently fabulous! I love the nigiri and he always ordered the gyoza and the scallop hibachi which he enjoys tremendously! They also make one of the best gin & tonics I have ever tasted! Leon was our server tonight and he is delightfully charming as are all of the servers and greeters at this establishment! Always immaculate and exquisitely clean, from the cooking-sushi preparation-beverage bar to the bathrooms! Parking is plentiful and easily accessed. Fridays and Saturdays are busy so if you are planning a dinner for a large party, consider making a reservation. The booths are super comfortable and seating is plentiful. Cannot recommend musashi highly enough! Go experience it for yourself! It is too good not to share!!! read more
An amazing sushi restaurant with fantastic service and a cool vibe. So many bests - Lychee Martini, Calamari, and Crab Fried Rice. I usually order a Lychee Martini at Japanese restaurants and this is hands down the best one I have ever had. One of the sauces that accompanied the Calamari was delicious. The Calamari was light due to it being breaded in panko instead of breadcrumbs. I was so full by the end of the meal but could not stop eating the Crab Fried Rice. Not too salty, not too soggy, and not boring like most fried rice. The Cherry Blossom roll was wonderful but the sauce on the Naruto sushi plate was magnificent. Instead of a birthday dessert, the server surprised us with a nigiri at the end and it was the best kind of dessert. If you don't mind dropping a pretty penny, come check this place out. read more

Enjoyed lunch at this new spot. Food was pricey but good quality and delicious. Service was good as well. Only drawback was that the location was hard to acccess and shares a parking lot with an Apartment complex. Limiting parking that is reserved for residents. read more
This is now one of my favorite restaurant in DFW. As soon as we walked in, our server (Nathan I believe) greeted us like an old friend. He was super friendly and helpful; someone who makes you want to befriend him. We tried the calamari, ora king salmon nigiri, the geisha roll and the peppered tuna roll. All were fabulous. Big pieces of fish in the rolls AND ITS NOT GROUND TUNA/FISH. So hard to find a place that doesn't ground their fish so this place has my heart. I WILL be back! read more

Great service and wonderful menu options. The sushi looked amazing though we wanted something warm so we got the ribeye Bento box and the gyudon. The meat and everything tasted delicious and we will be back to try more items next time! read more

Traveling for work & found this place within walking distance to hotel. Went early thank goodness, it got busy quick. Apparently the establishment had only been open for about 2 weeks--- still training staff. This is why I only gave 4 out of 5 stars ... there was confusion among staff on who actually was servicing our table. There were delays in drinks and errors with orders placed. The bar tender was trying to do it all; "A" for effort! All staff members were friendly, hospitable , and apologetic for confusion and mishaps. Should also note, a couple of larger office parties seem to be taking place as well. Despite the "B" rating for service this night , I would absolutely revisit this place. read more

We were happy to see this Japanese fusion restaurant had opened and decided to try it for dinner. It was our chance to compare it to the food we had on our vacation from Japan three days ago. We still had Japanese food on our brain and wanted to see what the fusion of cuisines would taste like. Our waitress was Shalimar. She was very friendly and gave some recommendations since this was our first time. Hubby ordered the Togi Lychee Martini ($14) and Sunomono Salad ($15). We ate a lot of Lychee in Japan. Hubby said martini was okay. The salad was delicious with thinly sliced cucumbers, wakame seaweed, and the ponzu sauce gave it a little citrus "bite." For dinner we ordered the Seafood Udon Pasta ($33) and Spider Maki ($15). the Spider Maki was a sushi roll with soft shell crab, cucumber, avocado, and roe. It had a drizzled sauce, maybe eel, that was not mentioned on the menu. It was really yummy. The pasta dish is where we think the fusion didn't work. The udon noodles were perfectly cooked and the seafood (shrimp, scallop, calamari) and mushrooms were plentiful. The ingredients were mixed together in a white wine and parmesan creamy sauce. The pasta dish while scrumptious, tasted like a seafood alfredo pasta dish. It lost all of any Japanese flavor or nuance. It was more like an entree you would eat in an Italian restaurant. The pickled ginger was wonderful! It wasn't pink, it was a cream cold and was soft and had a mildly pickled taste that was perfectly balanced. It was wonderful. Dessert was Ginger Creme Brulee ($14) and Strawberry Yuzu Bavarti Torte ($16). The presentation of these desserts was beautiful. ALMOST, too beautiful to eat...but we managed. You immediately got the ginger with the brulee, in both the creme and the shards of sugar. There was also crystallized ginger and something that tasted like a soft cookie. It was all delicious. The ginger custard was a little firmer than creamy, but I didn't have any trouble eating it. LOL The Torte was also wonderful. The strawberry yuzu was so tasty. The layers of cake, lemon curd, strawberries, and mousse just melded together in my mouth. Both desserts were so good we couldn't pick our favorite. I'm so glad we had dinner here. It was delicious and I would come again to try other menu items. I noticed tables outside and anticipate there will be crowds here in a couple of weeks when summer weather hangs around. read more

My husband and I just enjoyed lunch at Musashi. Cheris was our server. She was friendly, helpful in explaining the menu and very professional. We enjoyed miso soup, and spicy edamame. I had soft shell crab. My husband had several different sushi rolls. Everything was delicious. Nice atmosphere. read more

Great new Japanese spot that opened up in the area! I had my birthday lunch here after playing a round of golf at Omni PGA nearby. Service was very friendly and the food was delicious! I got the chicken bento box which came with a great variety of items that were all great quality. Loved the fried rice with it! A lovely unique touch was that they added homemade mochi to the bento box too. A few other items that my group got were the shishito peppers, soft shell crab, tom kha soup, sashimi platter, tonkatsu ramen, seafood udon pasta, and katsu curry. Everyone raved about their dishes. Atmosphere is very nice with lots of natural lighting. Will be back when I'm in town next to try some of the other dishes and the desserts next time! read more

The food here has always been great. The service has always been really good. The last time I was here I had the hibachi. I had the Miyazaki Wagyu and it was really good. read more

New sushi place opened up about 5 mins from our house and we've been wanting to try it. Went here for the first time today for an early Mother's Day lunch with my husband and this place is not bad. The restaurant was set up very nicely, everything looked new, and the building is very modern. We were the first ones there and we got greeted promptly. The service was good, our waiter was attentive. We ordered the spicy edamame for appetizers and this is one of the best spicy ones I've tasted. The flavors was popping and it wasn't too spicy and wasn't too tart and oily. My husband got the salmon bento box and it came with plenty of food. I ordered the Yaki udon noodles and it was delicious. I'd definitely go back to try the sushi. I can only imagine how fresh that would be. read more
