Solid sushi fix. Cool vibe and located inside Legacy Hall. Mac and Sunira were extremely polite and friendly. Had great conversations with them.

Philadelphia Roll & Crunchy Spicy Salmon

Solid sushi! Both rolls were pretty fresh tasting. Enjoyed the spicy mayo. Sushi could have been rolled a little better, was falling apart a little. Food hall ambiance is great, lots of spots and places to sit. Service was good!

    Hamachi Wrapped Roll

I love the variety of items Horu Sushi has to offer. What's even better is Horu Sushi being at Legacy Hall where you can order everything from your table without having to talk to anyone. I ordered the Hamachi Wrapped Roll ($18), which has an imitation crab filling, topped with Hamachi (yellowtail fish) tempura flakes, truffle oil, avocado, lemon & sriracha. While I didn't love the imitation crab filling, I did love the flavors the chef married in this roll. My only gripe were the costs of the rolls, as they run pretty pricey, but thats the cost you get when the chef imports his fish directly from Japan and Hawaii.

FOOD Seafood Volcano Roll - This is a baked roll that has crab, crawfish, scallops, avocado, and cucumber and is drizzled with dynamite sauce. All the ingredients are baked to perfection. The sauce adds a bit of sweetness that is so good with the seafood taste. I always order this roll when we go and it is just so yummy! Horu Roll - This roll comes with crab, avocado, and tuna and is topped with tempura bacon, salmon, masago, lemons, scallion, and sauce (which are probably eel sauce and spicy mayo but I'm just guessing). The lemons actually add such great flavor to the roll. This roll is pretty simple but is so yummy. No fishiness in the seafood and everything complements each other. Very good roll! VIBES This place is within Legacy Food Hall so there are usually a lot of people going to other different restaurants in the area. A bit on the louder side but a fun place to meet up and have a great time with family and friends. There are also a variety of restaurants surrounding so if sushi isn't someone's thing they can always order from other restaurants too! SERVICE The people are so nice here. They were also super fast with getting our order out. It took no longer than 10 minutes to have everything ready.

The sushi from here was so fresh and delicious. I got the hurricane shrimp roll and the Philly roll both were rolled perfectly and the presentation was amazing! The cashier seemed annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with another coworker and I thanked her many times throughout the transaction and she never acknowledged me but I would definitely come back to try more rolls.

I've tried food from here twice now and it's been amazing both times. They have both vegan and vegetarian options and not just one or two that need to be modified. It's nice it have more options that a simple cucumber or avocado roll. What I've tried: Vegetarian Hurricane Roll - tempura yam, cucumber, avocado, crispy angel hair, spicy mayo, sushi sauce Vegetarian Crunchy Spicy Roll - avocado, cucumber, jalapeño, spicy mayo, sushi sauce, crispy onion Spicy Edamame - edamame in a sweet and slightly spicy sauce

There are so many options for great food at Legacy Hall, but don't overlook Horu Sushi. They do a lovely job of bringing fresh rolls and cuisine to the Plano area. I was not up for anything adventurous, so stuck with the traditional (boring) California roll. It was terrific-everything tasted fresh and the different flavors commingled in just the way you'd want from sushi. I also ordered a couple mochi ice cream balls for dessert. Unfortunately, by the time I finished my dinner, they were pretty melted. Not the fault of the restaurant, but if I return I'd order them separately so that doesn't happen.

great sushi great service good vibe would go here again especially for the spicy tuna rice

I've found my new favorite restaurant in Legacy Hall! The sushi here is fresh and SO DELICIOUS! And they also make the sushi QUICK! This is the perfect place to go on your lunch break if your on a time crunch! I ordered the spicy crunchy salmon roll and it exceeded my expectations. I am so excited to try the other rolls that they offer, the next time that I am at Legacy Hall. The people who worked here were very pleasant and kind. I highly recommend trying this place!

    Crunchy Salmon, Salmon Nigiri
    Doyle K.

Horu Sushi is a fantastic sushi option given how fresh and delicious their fish servings are, however, it's not for everyone. I ordered the Crunchy Salmon Roll and two pieces of Salmon Nigiri. I took my first bite, and was completely blown away at how fresh and delicious the salmon was. Definitely an ideal spot for some real fresh sushi. The only problem, is pricing. This one roll and two Salmon Nigiri cost me around $25. The sushi here is definitely good, and definitely a great option if you're really craving sushi, but there are tons of places in DFW, practically sushi Mecca, that you can get salmon and rolls this good or better for a better price. For these prices you could head on over to some real luxury dining such as Uchi or Nobu. However, this place is definitely delicious for the fish, that much can't be denied. It comes down to a matter of if you're willing to spend the money.

    Rainbow Roll
    Sandra K.

I ordered a rainbow roll, it was mediocre and overpriced at $15. The sushi chef kept staring at me while I was deciding what to order and while waiting for my food, he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. They did not have the friendliest cashier. I was disappointed and regretted ordering from Horu Sushi when there were many other fascinating restaurants literally a few steps away. Will be going to a different restaurant the next time I go to Legacy Food Hall.

    Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll

It's a good sushi place located in legacy food hall. I tried the spicy salmon sushi and it was good. The tempura on top was crispy and yumm. I usually try veg sushi at this place but the salmon one was really tasty as well. And the serving is big. You can easily share it between 2. The service was quick. I ordered online and the order was ready in 5-7 mins. I got a table near the bar and it's always happening near that place. The vibe of the place was Good.

    "Fried Calamari"
    Douglas S.

Yes, we all know what calamari is. And maybe it's just me. But when I'm waiting for those delicious golden O's you typically get ... this is not what comes to mind. Honestly, I wouldn't have posted about how my GF couldn't finish her meal because of something that looked straight out of fear factor or how the food was significantly more sub-par than usual... However, I would, and am, going to write a review my experience with the cashier who essentially scoffed over my letting them know how unappetizing slimy octopus is to look at while trying to eat. I live next door, walk over 2-3 times a week, and usually don't mind overpaying for mediocre bar sushi. But considering this is news to me, I thought it might be news to Yelper's as well. The Edoko #1 roll was the standout of my meal. Most rolls that have this many ingredients are mediocre because none of the ingredients are distinguishable, but this roll was great and presented very well. My only gripe would be that the roll was hard to fit in one's mouth My partner got some robata, pork Gyoza, and the hot stone beef. The robata was good, and the pork Gyoza was great, but the hot rock was disappointing. The beef was extremely thin and you only got a few pieces. Cooking on the rock was difficult, causing the beef to stick and shred. Finally, the beef was served with a large portion of regular slice mushrooms that seems to still have the dirt from the package on them.

I got gyoza, yakitori chicken, yakiniku short ribs, and the hot rock. The gyoza was more equivalent to mandu (had rice noodles inside, and a lot more fried and crispy than usual gyoza), but I enjoyed it alright for the price. My chicken was average at best and lacked flavor even with the sauce it was drenched in. The short ribs were the highlight of what I ordered, and had good grill taste and plenty more than I thought I would be receiving. The hot plate however was incredibly gimmicky, even more so than I expected. The meat was flavorless even when dipped in ponzu and even with the provided butter it stuck horribly to the rock. The mushrooms weren't that impressive either, and you get maybe 7 tiny slices of beef. Do not get this dish if you come here. Bf enjoyed his pumpkin and calamari but said the tempura skin lacked flavor. However, he greatly enjoyed his sushi roll for the price and noted he would get it again. Overall, for the food I personally received, it was average at best and for sure overpriced. You can get similar better food nearby at a better price at Umiya off of Preston. I personally do not really wish to return for the price tag. Note that parking here was a bit crowded on a Friday night. We parked a 3-5 min walk away.

Some favorites include their chef-inspired rolls, fresh sashimi options, sushi combinations, and flavorful appetizers that are great for sharing. Starting with the positives, our server did a fantastic job (9/10). The staff is attentive, professional, and well-trained. The dishes are undeniably overpriced for what you get. While the presentation is high-end, the actual taste and quality of the sushi and nigiri were just "ok"--honestly, no better than what I've had at several other standard Japanese restaurants in the area. When you are paying top-dollar prices, the food needs to deliver an exceptional flavor experience, not just look pretty on a plate. I didn't feel the value matched what was paid tonight.
