I also tried the shrimp shumai, which were just okay and didn't add much to the experience. Not busy when we visited. Clean, lots of tables for seating. Friendly counter staff and answered our questions. Food was fresh tasting including seafood but protein portion sizes were small. I got the large bowl and really no discernible difference in looking at the bowl compared to the standard bowl. Made a pick up order for two, two protein poke bowls. When my husband came home with our order. The additional charged add ons were not in our bowls. We both got spicy crab meat and avocado added, that's $2 additional per bowl. However only one bowl had spicy crab meat and one bowl only had avocado. Also the amount of fish in the bowls were scarce. It had plenty of vegetables but for a two protein bowl to have only 10 pieces of fish seems really overpriced. The place had great reviews so we had driven 20 minutes to try and pick it up. Not worth it at all. You're better off just going to a sushi restaurant ordering $40 worth of sushi, you'd probably get more fish anyway. read more

Tried this place for the first time today, it was over an hour away from my house so you know I had to commit. I was nervous at first been being raised on Guam I grew up with Poke bowls and such, I've tried countless of Poke bowls in different state but this one has come close to my hometown favorite. Flavors of course are different but freshness is the same! Once you walk in the restaurant, you'll come across a table with pencils and a sheet of paper to mark what you'd like on your bowl. I've chosen my usuals 3 protein: Tuna, Salmon and Spicy Tuna! Mixed in with green onions, onions, furikake (I'm not a fan of roe so I didn't add that), next I chose the Original Poke Sauce (it's like a soy sauce wasabi base) don't worry the wasabi isn't noticeable! I added toppings spicy crab which added a small fee but I didn't mind, then I added seaweed flakes, cilantro, corn, crispy onions and whatever I desired. I added Spicy Mayo to top it all off! I also got a Cookies n Cream and Strawberry Macaron and my favorite a strawberry ice cream mochi! I'm part Japanese so this will be one of the places I'll go back to if I'm in the area again! The Regular size was really filling and they were happy to accommodate my special request to have one sauce in the bowl and a different sauce on the side. On top of the great food, they've done a fantastic job of making sure the food is served safely, despite mask mandates and other Covid protocols being lifted early. The complaint about the large is like "ordering for a child" and the reason why "the Japanese are so thin....and twiggish" is ridiculous.....if anything that's the reason why America has an obesity problem. Poke time offer a healthy portion for the quality and price point; I think it's cheaper than competitors but with higher quality in ingredients. Decided to come out for a late lunch with the family so there was no one there, granted it was like 2pm....so it's ok. It's like sushi bowl chipotle. I got the regular bowl, white rice, salmon and spicy tuna, the Hawaiian BBQ sauce, and almost all of the sides except jalapeño and ginger. They give you a lot of the sides and aren't stingy at all. It tasted really good and for a good value. The staff were really polite and accommodating and able to answer all of our questions. The head chef from Sushi Haruya has opened another restaurant underneath his belt (along side Sushi Haruya and Yatai Ramen) and it it definitely worth checking out! Their poke bowls come in two sizes: regular or large, but don't be deceived by how small they might appear, they actually fill them up with a ton of food! Base choices are white rice, brown rice, salad, or half and half. Their protein options for fish wise include salmon, tuna, and yellowtail along side other seafood options. They had a TON of toppings to choose from, stand outs that you won't find at other poke places are tamago and spicy crab meat. The only thing that cost extra is avocado ($1) but they gave me a huge serving (about half an avocado) so I'd say it's worth! Service is really friendly and I had a TON of fish in my bowl! Overall this poke bowl was GREAT, the rice wasn't mushy but had a nice texture to it, the fish was fresh, and the sauce (poke sauce) was just the right compliment. If you have ever been to Poke Point in Ranch 99, it tastes the same to me, which is a great thing. Both of these places let you pile on as much rice as you want. I am usually pretty full after eating one of these because of that. What I ordered: White Rice, 2 scoops of Tuna, Salmon, mixed with Sweet and Spicy Ponzu with assorted toppings (too many to name here) - 4/5. If you are a fan of sashimi with rice, I definitely recommend it. My husband and I were out on search for another Poke place and we found one nearby our house. This place is a little bigger with several tables/chairs. It's very bright inside and airy, I believe this place has just opened recently. The set up is the same as the other place we visited in Richardson. They have choice of white rice, brown rice and salad, choice of protein, condiments etc, type of sauce and trimming. They were very good and it was a good experience and it wasn't expensive either though I wouldn't mind paying more for good quality. There was a dirty bowl on the floor near our seat that the staff never picked up though it was very visible to them. We cleaned up and disposed of it after our meal.
