Cleanliness / better food handling from owner to staff. Basic handwashing practices. Anytime you come back into the serving area. Everyone should know to wash your hands. Everyone should know not to fix your hair or run your fingers through your hair and adjust your cap. Regardless of you applying gloves or not, everyone knows you should wash your hands when you yourself are sitting at a table, eating your own snacks and then come around to serve customers Basic hygiene, skills, sanitary skills should tell you to wash your hands. And yet you get an attitude as the manager - owner and send one of your employees to serve me rather than yourself and she in turn follows your lead, by not washing her hands before serving. Ironically, your employee puts on latex gloves to handle trash, but yet doesn't wash their hands upon returning back to food service. Diabolical!!! This will probably be the last time I recommend or Visit your establishment and that may be fine for you. It's certainly more healthier for me. Some people in your clientele that you serve perhaps your newer patrons or ones with the same values may have lesser standards or don't observe what's going on around them. Pure Puke! False Advertising. The poke bowl was to be large but it was small and half full. The mixed greens weren't washed so it tasted like dirt. The fish smelled and the yellowtail was missing and most of the toppings were missing. The miso soup spilled all over the bag. The weird blue slush was not as stated. The cup was delivered open, melted, weird white sludge in it and I had to toss due to safety concerns. The Mexican Coke was in a cup not a bottle as usual and has to toss due to poor packaging and not full. A waste of money and I don't understand how they have any positive reviews. So. The POKE here is STELLAR. There's a reason the parking lot is always packed. Fish is a fresh and delicious. Toppings are endless. Okay I get it, Poke places are a dime a dozen these days, and they're all pretty similar in quality (nothing close to the fresh stuff you would get in Hawaii), and provide the same toppings to choose from. But I thought the service was very good for me and my friend. You order at the front and proceed down the line choosing whichever toppings you want. My friend wasn't all that certain what to do when he arrived so the server was very friendly and helped him through the process (what a newbie). Additionally, there's free miso soup in a stewing pot with your order, so that was a very nice plus on a cold winter afternoon. Other than that, the poke is just as good as any other poke place you might find. There's not a ton of space inside for dine-in, the space feels more like a small coffee shop meant for take-out, so plan accordingly. There is a station where you self serve miso soup, sauces like spicy mayo & more, utensils, ginger, infused water, and chopped up jalapeños. We ordered the Frisco & the Fiesta bowl. The combinations are spot on delicious. My tuna was a little on the frozen side, but I just mixed it in and ate those last. No biggie. It was still good. A coworker invited me to check it out. Family owned business, great customer service! It was my first time they were so patient with my questions. I found it hard to find businesses who didn't take things personally. It was very refreshing to see a professional business owner wanting to make things right. They were generous with the portion sizes so a large gos a long way. They have lil cups that you can fill with different sauces FOR FREE. No one does that I was impressed, lol. I've eaten at the top rated poke places in Southern California, New York, Chicago... so when I was visiting Dallas and saw this place with the perfect 5 star ratings on Yelp, I was skeptical but curious. I am SO GLAD I checked it out. The fish is fresh and beautiful (I tried yellowtail, tuna, and salmon). It's seasoned properly to order (tossed separately from the base). The toppings, from the crab salad, masago, and avocado to the variety of onions and seeds are fresh, varied, and generous. The rice is perfectly seasoned. And the sauce options are great (most of which, thankfully, are not mayo-based). Pure poke offers lots of interesting ore-set combinations, but you aren't penalized money-wise for doing it up and building your own. And the staff that served me were delightful. I have come to the realization that many mainlanders will associate poke with build your own bowls. If they ever visit Hawaii, they will be sorely disappointed. While many of the flavors here still need a good amount of work, the ingredients are fresh and that's more than half the battle. They also have a spicy sauce that is crazy spicy too! They also have free miso soup which is a nice touch to cleanse the palette before your meal. I see many signs that point to excelling in the poke game. While all poke places are a far departure of what I know as poke, it is definitely nice to see a healthy alternative to the drab lunch places that offer burgers and giant plate lunches.
