More like Sushi Go Away I was craving sushi and it was a dairy at 3pm. I knew this place was gonna be fast casual and I lowered my expectations four what I usually get at sushi Sake or masami. I walked in and I was the only customer there. The walls were barren bright orange, void of decorations other than two paper laterns in the corner and a sushi go sign on the wall. There were two TV screens playing in the front corners. One was a travel TV series, and the other side was a glitched out frame of someone holding a koala on a veterinarian setting. There was no music being played, but I didn't hear the faint volume of the travel show. I ordered the wonder women roll and a simple veggie roll. It came out on a to go box sitting on a red cafeteria tray with generic soy sauce packets. The wonder women roll had a thick layer of sauce on top that looked like it was pumped out with a caulking gun. It over powered most of the flavor, probably due to the subpar quality of fish they had. The sauce on top of super creamy too. At some points. It felt like I was eating cheesecake but how rich and oily it was There was barely any spice that I could detect, even though the role is advertised with jalapenos. I had to dip into the wasabi in order to feel anything! The veggie roll was standard, with fresh avocado at least. I will say it had no flavor and I had to rely solely on the soy sauce. The roll started to fall apart slowly if I held it longer than 6 seconds as well. I want to support small businesses, but this one in particular isn't doing anything that makes me want to come back. The only benefit I see is someone wanting sushi for lunch during the weekday (especially at 3pm, works in the nearby shopping center, or doesn't want to spend much for a prepared premium sushi roll. read more

I've tried the poke bowl and a few rolls on separate occasions. The poke bowl is a steal for the price and you get a generous serving of fish. I got lunch for carryout from here one weekday. I placed my order online and appreciated that the ready time of 20 minutes after I placed my order was accurate. This place is in a shopping center near Tom Thumb. It is more of a to go place as they only have 4 small tables inside. I arrived exactly 20 minutes after and the man was packaging my order up. I ordered the Salmon Sashimi $6.95, Red River Roll $10.95, King Kong Roll $10.95, Alaskan Roll $10.95, and the Philadelphia Roll $6.95. Make note there is a convenience fee for online orders of $1.75. The sashimi was not good at all, it says it comes with 3 pieces. I got 4 tiny Lego block sized salmon pieces and 2 Tuna so I am thinking they might have messed this up but the quality was not there and the pieces were tough and super ice cold, I would not order this again at all. For the rolls, the King Kong had good sauces but I didn't really taste anything else which is weird since it has so many things inside like crab, smoked salmon, spicy tuna, avocado and cream cheese. The Red River also had a good sauce but again couldn't really discern any flavor from the roll inside. The Alaskan was my favorite but the picture online did not match what I got. Some places put the Salmon all the way across the top with the avocado inside. I assumed this would be the case based on the picture but it was done with alternating salmon and avocado on top. The roll was good taste wise overall besides this mix up. The Philadelphia was fine, they are pretty stingy with the cream cheese but okay overall. The man was very nice and juggled the phone, the customer there already and greeted me when I came in which is nice but just okay quality wise. I would stick to the regular rolls for the price point if I went back but there are other much better sushi options around. read more

Sushi Go has been open for about 8 months and is not far from me. I had seen it several times but never went in because I have my sushi places and I rarely play the restaurant lottery when it comes to Sushi. Today I was craving sushi and my favorite place did not open until 5, so I gave them a try. I was pleasantly surprised! We were greeted warmly by Philip, our Sushi Chef for today. He was a super nice guy and had a great attitude. He guided us through the menu and we settled upon 3 rolls, The Superman Roll, a Cucumber Roll, and the Crunch Roll. They were all amazing! Being that we were the only ones in the place, we had a great opportunity to visit with Philip as he cleaned the sushi making area after he finished our roll. This is not a fine dinning or even a good date spot it is, as the name implies, a grab some sushi and go spot. Great big portions and great combination of flavors for the the rolls. I will try and find another place to spend time and maybe enjoy some tea or sake but to grab a quick bite when I need a sushi fix for lunch- this is the joint. On a whim, my 8-yr-old daughter and I tried this place that is close to our grocery store. The decorations are spare, but it appears to be immaculately clean. We both ordered the Lion King roll. I loved it, but my daughter was unimpressed, so I ate hers, too! We ordered her a crunch roll to go. The chef modified it for her because she didn't want shrimp. So he just gave her more crab. The guy had misheard my order and didn't give me the proper sashimi blocks of salmon, but gave me some extra strips (the ones that go on top of the nigiri) instead; about twice as much as I would have gotten with the blocks. It isn't your fancy traditional sushi spot, but I will say it is pretty amazing if you are looking for really fresh, and well made sushi.
