I love going to sushi box, it is a small store but serves big flavor! It is close to where I work in the Hillcrest Village area. Very good prices and service is pretty fast. It is also a good place for a casual date, nice music and decor.
This spot was such a great find. We've either moved here pretty recently or spend enough time here that I've been wanting to find a sushi place we could really settle into and come back to often, and this absolutely feels like that kind of place. It has that true hole in the wall, local vibe. They don't even come greet you at the door. You can tell they just expect you to know the drill, sit down, and get comfortable. It's super simple and unpretentious in the best way. The menu has a little bit of everything. We got the bento box, which was really good, and we also tried several of their rice-less sushi rolls. Those were especially impressive. A lot of places offer low-carb or rice-free rolls now, but so often they just end up tasting mostly like vegetables, especially cucumber. Here, though, they were genuinely flavorful and really well done. Everything came out quickly, the food was great, and the prices were incredibly affordable. Honestly, it was surprisingly inexpensive for how good everything was. I would definitely recommend trying the gyoza. That was one of my favorite things we ordered. There was also another sushi roll I really loved. I can't remember the name, but it wasn't the cucumber one, and it was so good. I'd absolutely come back. There's still so much on the menu I want to try, especially more of their rice-less rolls.

Had initially planned to sit in and eat but saw reviews saying the place was quite small and more suitable for takeout. Now I normally wouldn't do sushi takeout as I have had bad experiences with it before where the rolls are not rolled properly and it's a bit of a mess. However I saw pics thanks to Yelp and decided to give it a go. This is a no frills sushi spot, definitely agree that it's better for takeout than dine-in. The inside has only a few tables and is a very basic place, but the counter staff was friendly and the sushi to go was packaged nicely and rolls in tact. I ordered the Tiger roll and the Geisha Roll. Both were delicious, the Tiger had a little kick to it because of the jalapeños. The sushi tasted fresh and the rolls were a nice size. For being a sushi place, I also have to commend them for the pricing, because it's very affordable for sushi, most rolls are $11.50-13.50 which is unheard of at most places. Definitely will make this a regular spot when the need for sushi arises.
I was looking for tasty sushi at a reasonable price, and this is the place! Sushi Box has some of the cheapest prices I've found, and the quality is not compromised! The sushi was absolutely DELICIOUS! I got an 8-piece Rainbow Roll for just around $11 (unbelievable) and a Salmon Roll with added avocado for $2. My only issue is that I don't believe they have a Salmon Avocado Roll, which is why I had to pay extra for the add-on.
ORDER Salmon Tower - The salmon tower was pretty good. I liked how they topped it with fish eggs. The salmon was fresh. I will say they gave a pretty sizable amount of crab meat which took away from the good salmon flavor. I also wish they had a bit more sauce to go with all the rice and the crab. Other than that was definitely a dish I enjoyed and would recommend. Bento Box - My friend ordered the bento box and it came with miso soup. He said the miso soup was a 5/10 since it was pretty bland and did not taste like much. The tempura has also remained the same as previously where it tastes like it was store bought and fried rather than using fresh ingredients. Other than that, the seafood was fresh. Their raw fish tasted yummy without fishiness. I will say that this place is nice for a quick stop to get sushi, but could definitely improve in some areas (it's not bad though!) VIBES Vibes are pretty casual. There are a couple of tables that people can sit down and dine-in. I've seen a lot more people coming in to grab to-go. The place is pretty clean and they are quick to clean the tables. Definitely more of a place for quick eats or casual hangout. SERVICE Food came out pretty fast. Other than that, not much interaction overall with the people.

Great spot for good value sushi. Restaurant is small and clean and the sushi was delicious. Easy to order and quick service. They definitely got a return customer in me.
Walked in and the place looked severely understaffed, waited about 30 minutes for mediocre food. The miso soup was very salty and the rolls didn't taste the most fresh. I've had much better sushi at this price before, it was almost 30 dollars for that box and one more roll. The place and decorations were cute, but I wouldn't recommend for the price.
This review is for a to-go order. Having never been to Sushi Box before, I decided to test the waters by placing an order for a tuna tower via their website. Being in Far-North Dallas, somehow I'm blown away I never noticed this place. It's in the Hillcrest Village Shopping Center. There's ample parking and it's located on the ground level of the outdoor strip center. I placed the order online, and it was very easy. Totally frictionless and it said my order would be ready in 8 minutes. When I arrived, there were no diners in the establishment even though it was prime-time lunch. The place is small, and had a very casual vibe. It was cute and clean. The girl who handed over the food was really sweet and friendly. When I got home, I was delighted to find the presentation of the tuna tower I ordered was was nice and well-packed. In fact, it was shaped like a heart- so cute!!! Also, I had requested a few mods and they were observed. No avocados or Sirracha. The tuna tower itself was great! The tuna was fresh and the sauces were delish. For less than $12, the value can not be beat! There were also some good crunchy tempura pieces that gave the tower some varied texture. Based on the positive experience for this to-go order, I'll be back very soon and try other options. Really glad to have found this hidden gem!
Sushi Box is a great place to pick up tasty sushi at a good value. I had the rainbow roll, the panic roll, and the caterpillar roll. All was very good, excellent edamame as well. The only drawn is that they're is boo ambience, it seems to be a primarily take out place, they have tables and chairs, just no one is eating in the restaurant. But would definitely return!
Personally, I recommend ordering ahead and picking up to go. The restaurant is really tiny and quiet. The food though- was really good ! For such a small place I wasn't excepting this much good flavor. They taste like a boujee expensive sushi restaurant. I felt like they were priced decently as well. Most sushi places I end up spending $70ish but here I was able to get all the things listed for $58. 2 special rolls, 2 regular rolls, 2 pc salmon sushi, steamed gyoza, and seaweed salad. I shared my receipt as well. Overall really impressed!

I got a chance to stop in on this place with my cousin today. And the atmosphere was great. I love all of the ambience. The sushi was authentic. I had the shrimp tempura udon and my cousin got the sashimi Bento box. The customer service was so great!!! I will definitely be coming back for more authentic sushi thank you guys for excellent experience.‼ read more

Personally, I recommend ordering ahead and picking up to go. The restaurant is really tiny and quiet. The food though- was really good ! For such a small place I wasn't excepting this much good flavor. They taste like a boujee expensive sushi restaurant. I felt like they were priced decently as well. Most sushi places I end up spending $70ish but here I was able to get all the things listed for $58. 2 special rolls, 2 regular rolls, 2 pc salmon sushi, steamed gyoza, and seaweed salad. I wanted some good quality sushi and reviews led me here. We paid pretty decent prices for some awesome sushi. We ordered a sushi tower appetizer, rainbow roll, sushi & sashimi special (comes with miso soup and house salad), and a sunset roll. Some of that isn't pictured :P Everything was super fresh and the cuts of fish were so nicely sized that I felt spoiled :'-) This place served such good salmon that I can't recall a better place that did it better. read more

Tried Sushi Box for the first time yesterday! Whenever the bf and I go to a sushi restaurant, we stick to the basic rolls and never order anything crazy (i.e. volcano roll, rainbow roll, etc), but the crunch Philadelphia roll caught my eye (this is their version of Philly roll with tempura puffs - I think that's the topping?) I could have eaten the whole roll myself! I felt guilty while eating it but it was sooo good I also loved the shogun roll, less guilty while eating this one since it's a rice-less, cucumber wrapped roll. Overall, everything we ate was super tasty. I'd definitely go back for those two rolls and try all the other items on the menu. The presentation was A+ too as shown in the pictures! The owners/sushi chef as well as the staff were very accommodating and made the experience even better :) read more

Food was amazing, I have to admit that the miso soup was on point with the ingredients. I also got welcomed with a really big and heartwarming smile from the front desk lady. The place overall has a really nice look with the style of a Japanese restaurant. I am definitely coming back to this place soon! read more

The best sushi spot around!! Seriously. Get the Louisiana roll and baked salmon roll and thank me later. The baked salmon roll is melt in your mouth delicious. And the Louisiana roll is something I have never seen but absolutely love it. Everything I've tried here is delicious. Could not recommend enough, they've definitely made a raving fan out of me. read more

Easy to miss from the outside despite living nearby for 2 years and visiting surrounding restaurants before. Inside is a generic strip mall food service layout with a few nods to Japanese design to go along with the classic sushi ingredient display fridges. Staff was friendly and helpful although it wasn't clear if I was supposed to order before finding a seat. The menu was easy to understand and the prices were reasonable compared with the area. The food was ok, nothing I disliked but also nothing that really stood out to me. Like many local sushi places they go heavy on the artificial crab and light on the actual ingredients that make sushi tasty: the seafood. While I lean towards 3 stars, the helpful staff and good value for the price lift Sushi Box up to a shaky 4 stars. If I could find a favorite roll, this would be a solid 4 but my usuals didn't hit the mark this time. read more

This is the best sushi I ever had for a while. I found this place on google, had a lunch with my two young boys. California roll, tiger roll, panic roll, and sushi sashimi combo. Omg so good so yummy. This quality and this price, you can't find anywhere else in entire states. The staff was super friendly and kind. I believe the lady she served us is owner, She is super knowledgeable about sushi. She introduced one of sushi chef who used to work very high end sushi restaurant called nobu. He is super friendly for our experience in here sushi box. I am very happy I found this place in Dallas. Absolutely coming back. read more
