K-Original Tteokbokki - Spicy
Codi B.

This place used to be in the Revolving Kitchen, now it's moved a few doors down next to the old Buckle store. The owner is so kind and the place looks really good so far. The menu is fairly simple, offering a lot of fried options. I've been twice so far. The bowls with the bulgogi and spicy pork are quite delicious. It has that street food Americanized flavor with Korean flavors too. I really loved the combination of the Japchae and the cabbage salad in the bowls. The kimchi here is very tasty; as well as the tteokbokki. Not a super huge fan of the breading of the fried chicken pieces, but it was cooked perfectly. Also wished they would've tossed the chicken in the sauce vs squeezing it on top. Food comes out fast, service is great, and the food is tasty. Great spot for a quick lunch.

Last night we tried Big Bowl Bite and Burrito and it was absolutely amazing…read more We ordered the Big Bite bowl, one bulgogi bowl, and two teriyaki bowls for the kids, all to go. The service was fantastic. I believe it was the owner or manager who handed us the food. He was so kind and polite and even gave us four Moon Pies for free. The food was delicious and I honestly could not find one thing to complain about. The portions were great, everything was fresh, and it traveled really well for takeout. If you have not heard of this place or tried it yet, please give this small business a chance. It is amazing and we will definitely be back. Website https://www.bigbitebowlnburrito.com

The food is good and reasonable! Korean bulgogi is my new carnivore obsession. I know there are…read moreprobably a few carbs in the sauce but it is a small sacrifice I make. I ordered just the bulgogi with extra meat and it was perfect. My friend ordered the bulgogi bowl with a fried egg it was her first experience with Korean food. I got there early, in fact my friend forgot so I had to wait for her to arrive. She lives within a few blocks of downtown McKinney so it took about 15 minutes to get there. The weather outside was beautiful, but too bright to see my phone so I went inside and asked if they minded if I sat inside while I waited. They were so kind and helpful. The girl asked me if I wanted something to drink and when I asked for Iced Tea she brought me a bottle from the refrigerator. They don't have fountain drinks, just bottled sodas, juice, tea and water. The place is clean and cheery. I use a walker so I am always concerned about handicapped accommodations and the place is spacious as well as the bathroom fully accessible. Looking forward to visiting with my family.

Great atmosphere and service, but oversized rolls missed the mark for me…read more From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. The menu offered a great variety with plenty of options, and I really appreciated that items were clearly marked to indicate whether they contained raw fish. That's a thoughtful touch that makes the menu more approachable for guests who may be new to sushi or prefer cooked options. Presentation-wise, the rolls looked fantastic and were plated beautifully. The flavors were good as well. However, the one thing that held the experience back for me was the portion size of the rolls. Some of them were extremely large--my Rock & Roll was so big that fitting a single piece comfortably in my mouth was a challenge. Sushi is traditionally meant to be eaten in one bite to enjoy the balance of rice, fish, and fillings. When the pieces get too large, it can throw off that balance and make the eating experience a bit messy. I also found the eel sauce to be unusually thick--almost molasses-like--which didn't quite have the smooth, glossy texture I typically enjoy. Overall, it's still a solid spot worth trying, especially if you enjoy larger rolls and generous portions. For me personally, the size of the rolls disrupted the balance I look for in sushi, so it may not become my regular spot--but others may really enjoy it.
