Loved coming in! We have had pickup and delivery before and dine in is far superior. We ordered a lot of food and had plenty to take home: wide pulled beef noodz, rainbow pan fried dumplings, pepper chicken, even some brown milk tea. All delicious. And the noodles were truly the highlight of the meal. Can't wait to come back and try more of the Chinese menu! Interior is darling, so cute. Includes a patio on the Hub as well. Super fast, friendly service.
We went around an hour before closing so our experience was overall a bit subpar. Ambiance is good, it's trendy and classy but we had a view of cardboard boxes from our table which threw us off. Anyways, food comes out quickly and our server was nice....though we tried calling out to five people to get us a plate and no one seemed to hear us? Ok on the actual food now. Their chili oil is fantastic, I can't recommend it enough with your dishes. Dumplings were soft, and the filling was good. We ordered these beef slices and I would not recommend personally, it left a very bitter aftertaste in our mouth. For the mains, the biang biang noodles were excellent. Very springy, soft and packed with spice. The sesame chicken was decent but I felt that the chicken pieces were too big making it hard to eat. The kung pao chicken was also good, very salty and savory but nothing extraordinary. I understand that they have to close their kitchen but they were fully mopping their floors next to us towards the end which I wasn't a fan of us. I think overall it's a decent spot but I was expecting more.
Went here not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The inside is really nice, kind of dark and cozy with moody lighting. Food is affordable and solid. We got egg drop soup, wonton soup, and stir fried green beans with rice. The broth on both soups were savory but not overly salty. The chili oil is actually really good too, it's seasoned and, not just oil with pepper flakes. They also have a covered patio which is nice. Service was quick and everything was very clean. I'd come back.
Before I dive in the chili sauce that they serve is exquisitely amazing The beef rolls were amazing. It was light. It wasn't too heavy the onions and cilantro all mixed in well very nicely. The shrimp is a great and amazing avatar appetizer. It is a little heavily fried, but they make up for by cleaning the shrimp completely definitely recommend coming out here. The service is amazing. They complement you. They treat you like family definitely a nine out of 10, and then let me not forget about the ambience. It's low-key you can bring your family here. You can watch TV. it's a talkative space and you can also see them do their craft in the building which is pretty cool watching them make dumpling
Stopped in for lunch and we were immediately impressed by the presentation of this restaurant. It is so cute and inviting! Our server was prompt and friendly and took great care of us through the meal. The food also came out remarkable fast! Unfortunately in this case the food did not match the decor and service. We saw the three pepper chicken on almost every table and had to try it. The overall flavor was good, but for something that has three peppers and a notation of spicy on the menu there was no spice to the flavor at all. The presentation however is great. The Flat Noodles with beef were a disappointment. The noodles were only about half the width of what you would traditionally have and they were very Al dente. There was no wok flavor and the noodles seemed like they had been boiled and then sauced. For a restaurant that prides themselves on their noodles with was a let down. There seems to be opportunities for improvements and I do hope the team here will build on what they have and continue to improve.
Dani & Lindsy Eat A-Z landed us at Chef Sun's for our "C" choice. I was immediately greeted and got to pick our table. The menus, yes plural, offered so many yummy options as well as portion options. Lunch combos, appetizers and everything in between. I had already decided what I wanted, but the smells and seeing what others ordered had me second guessing. I eventually settled on the DaDan Noodles and Dani got the lunch combo. Our meals came out fast and hot. The DanDan noodles were so tasty and the portion was filling! I ordered medium spicy, I wanted a kick, and would go up a level next time. Dani's lunch combo was incredible! It was a little of everything, I may try that next time too! As you can tell, I'll be returning multiple times. This is a joint you can comfortably dine alone, with a large group, or just a few. The parking is vast, but it's busy around lunch so you may have a little walk to the restaurant.
The good: Chicken & Shrimp Shumai were tasty, we were immediately seated, service was fast taking and delivering our order. The mid: Crab puffs were very hot, dipping sauce had a hint of pineapple, but crab was almost nonexistent. The bad: Restaurant was overheated, water lacked ice, both tables we were seated at were dirty with trash in the seats. Once food arrived, the service stopped. The worse: Beef wraps arrived only slightly warm. Texture of meat and the wrap was smooth with a slightly sweet sauce, but the wraps were packed with cilantro steams that had a tough, woody texture and very little flavor. The worst: Steamed chicken dumplings were the color of raw organ meat which made them visually impossible to eat. I choked one down, and I could not tell you what it tasted like.
I came by for lunch on a Friday. It was completely empty as they had just opened for the day. The restaurant had a trendy interior and festive Halloween decorations, making for a fun ambiance. I ordered a garlic bok choy, a fish boil in spicy sauce, and beef slices (cold dish). The waitress was great and let me choose an authentically bold spice level, which was fun since most people usually order medium spicy. The garlic bok choy was decent but not standout. The spicy fish and beef slices were flavorful and enjoyable, though not as spicy as I expected. Overall, the experience was great, and the personalized attention from the staff was a highlight. The waitress mentioned a secret menu-level of spiciness called "变态辣" for the truly adventurous. They said no one's ordered it yet and recommended I give it a try if the 3rd level wasn't spicy enough. I'm looking forward to returning and trying that next time!
Pretty solid Chinese food but not as good a the Plano location. The biang biang noodles had a nice chew though one of them was a little too watery with the sauce. The soup dumplings were good but they no longer serve pork, and I understand why, but their pork soup dumplings were my favorite in DFW so disappointed that they no longer have them.
Starting off, service was very fast. We got our food soon after ordering. I just didn't feel anything that we got was truly remarkable. For this place, it could very well just be my experience and opinion. I tend to be passionate about food opinions, but for this one I'll say YMMV. An observation I had that I thought was interesting was that the menus seemed nearly identical to Uncle Xiao's menu in Frisco.
Came by for some noodles and dumplings, and overall, it was a good experience. The noodles were fresh. Handmade and well-cooked. The rainbow dumplings were fresh. The flavors were nice, but leaned a bit too subtle for my taste, could've used a little more punch. Service was okay, it felt just a bit off. They were doing some sort of team table waiting where one person took the order, one person brought drinks, another brought food, etc. felt disjointed, had to ask for refills. The place itself is nicely decorated, and the restrooms were clean, which is always a plus. Prices were fair for what you get, and it felt like good value. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place with solid food, this is a good option. Just don't expect bold flavors or super attentive service.
We went here for my nephews birthday, the ambiance was cool, the food was okay- the egg drop soup was not flavorful in any way - no salt or nothing and adding the chili oil didn't help it. The chicken tasted a little funky in all the dishes. Great presentation though!
This is a new establishment ! If the host is not at her station seat yourself and grab a waitress. I ordered shrimp, lo mein and my hubby ordered shrimp fried rice. Everything was fresh hot and tasty. Even with a full house the food came out fairly quickly. This restaurant does not serve alcohol. It's BYOB. ; A BYOB service charge may apply, depending on the type of alcoholic beverage you bring. Jalen the host who doubled as our waitress was a gem ! We will be back !

I've now been to Chef Sun's Noodle and Dumpling twice, and at this point I'm convinced they're running some kind of delicious sorcery back there in the kitchen. My first visit was solo, since I'd been curious for some time. It was just me, a bowl of wonton soup, and some Kung Pao Chicken, and the whole experience felt like I'd been teleported to a cozy spot in San Francisco. Warm ambiance, incredible food, and that "I could sit here for hours" vibe. I ate at the bar, which is by the entrance, people watched and enjoyed my delicious food. Naturally, I went back with a couple friends and my wife... and that's when things escalated. We ordered like we were feeding a small village. Kung Pao (again, because it's that good), House Special Soup Bao, chicken lo mein, pepper chicken, General Tso's chicken, and a bunch of other dishes that I lost track of somewhere between "wow" and "how are we still eating." Every single plate was fantastic. Not just "good for a group order," not just "surprisingly solid," it was legitimately delicious across the board. The table looked like a celebration, and we treated it like one. Every single dish was a great portion size, delicious, and tasted WONDERFUL. By the end, our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies, but honestly, if you're going to over‑order anywhere, this is the place to do it. I can't wait to go back... though next time I'll try to show at least a little self‑control. No promises. Chef Sun's is officially one of my favorite spots. Great food, great atmosphere, and the kind of consistency that keeps you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. I give this place my Arnold Schwarzenegger - "I'LL BE BACK!" read more

Chef Sun's is a lively place with an interesting aesthetic (various doors hanging from the ceiling). When we got to out table we didn't know what to expect, The menu was packed with so many options so we tried a few different apps and dishes to share. We went with the popcorn chicken, chicken & shrimp shumai, steamed green beans, and cumin lamb. The popcorn chicken was awesome. Just the experience of it. You're presented with a bouquet of popcorn chicken. The chicken was flavorful and had a nice amount of spice to it. I opted not to add any chilis to my bites as I found the chicken alone to be just the right amount of spice. Would recommend this dish for the experience mainly. The chicken and shrimp shumai was outstanding. One of my friends has a strong dislike of any shrimp dish, but truly loved this. It was perfectly seasoned and so tasty. The steamed green beans were great and had the perfect amount of crunch. While the cumin lamb was seasoned well and tasted great. The only miss was the fried rice. I was honestly surprised that execution was so strong with everything else, but the rice lacked flavor. That said, I'd gladly come to Chef Sun's again. read more

It's true! Both locations are owned by the same people. We met the owner and his daughter a week ago, who warmly invited us to come back and try their expanded menu. Tonight we gave it a shot. And by the end of our meal, I dreaded having to write this review. We ordered three entrees: Orange Chicken - Large, perfectly cooked chicken chunks, tangy orange sauce made with real orange rind, and a generous amount of peppers and onions. Delicious. No complaints. Shrimp Lo Mein - Lo mein portion was reasonable, but where'd the shrimp go? The butane gas taste was horrible. It was not editable. Can't report it if you don't have a waiter! 招牌陕西油泼面 House Biang Biang Noodle - Still the best thing on the menu. If you want their top dish, this is it. Customer service was zero. One person seated us, another took our order, someone else brought the food... and then we were abandoned. No one waited on us. If one person had checked in, we could have told them the Shrimp Lo Mein tasted like butane gas. We also needed our water re-filled before our food arrived -- and needed water especially while eating. Not having a waiter made us miserable!! We are generous tippers, and we've never skipped giving a tip until now, but this was that bad. The whole vibe was off!!! Really disappointed in this location--not sure if we'll be back. read more

Hi Melinda, we are very sorry about the bad experience that you had…
I came here on a whim after spotting this restaurant from the exterior. We ordered the house special soup, dumplings, spicy garlic edamame, and crab rangoons. All of the dishes were really good and fresh. The service was amazing and the ambience was really nice as well. This is definitely a great place to come and enjoy some halal dumplings. read more

Decent Chinese food, but definitely over hyped in my opinion. Yes, it is definitely nice to have a restaurant of this kind offer halal options, but in comparison to other Chinese restaurants, some of the dishes here weren't as flavorful. The biggest hit for us was the garlic bok choy. That was absolutely delicious and I could eat pounds and pounds of it. The dan dan noodles, shumai, and red oil wontons were also good, along with the mongolian beef. The beef wraps and crab rangoon were misses for me. While the 3 pepper chicken and salt & pepper fish lacked salt and that umami flavor (probably needed some MSG to be honest). Kung pao chicken, the lo mein, and sesame balls were ok. Rainbow dumplings were a hit and miss - some were good and some I did not enjoy. Ample space for groups with indoor and outdoor seating. Food comes out pretty quickly despite them being so busy. Service is ok, but could be better in my opinion. read more

This place is right next to us since we live within Craig Ranch. Went for a quick lunch with wifey and ordered 2 dishes from the Chef's Special - Pepper Chicken and the Salt & Spicy Shrimp. The biggest mistake was that we didn't ask for a walk of the dish and hence ended up ordering dishes that were deep fried. It was quite dry and we found it hard to eat fried stuff beyond a point. The place is convenient to get to, ample parking and the vibe is just great. Will be back and try other dishes before making a final verdict!! read more

nice interior, interesting doors as hanging ceiling panels, like the bathrooms! huge portions, fast service. handmade noodles are good. wish all the more spicier dishes (as advertised) had any spice to them, we didn't taste anything at all biang biang noodles had touch of garlic chili taste to it 1/2 stars read more

I blame only 4 stars on my desensitized American palate. I ordered the house biang biang noodles. I expected big flavors based off of past Chinese food experiences from around the Dallas metroplex for the past 20 years. I was underwhelmed by the simple flavors of the food. After a few bites, I had to come back to reality and really evaluate the food I was eating. The noodles were fun. They provide scissors to cut the noodles, as they are thick. They lie on the al dente side, delightfully chewy. I got beef added, which was tender and played well with the noodles. There seemed to be a very thin sauce on the dish, which kept it from being dry. I added some chili oil that came on the table to brighten it up. I had leftovers. Hub got the beef wraps. He liked them all except for what he said was an overkill of cilantro stems. He also got orange chicken in which he stated was the 2nd worst orange chicken he's had. The chicken was okay, but the sauce wasn't orange enough, no orange peels...tasted more like general tso. Inside the restaurant was really fresh and new. It was inviting, decorated nice with short and tall tables as well as a bar area where ladies were making dumplings. My meal was $12 for the noodles and $5 to add beef. Worth it. read more
Great upscale atmosphere with a nice selection of menu items to choose from. I especially enjoyed the pork & shrimp shumai. The hand pulled noodles were very good. We tried a beef and chicken dish with the beef being our favorite with the flavors and baby bok choy. Staff was professional and attentive. read more

Love this place! This is my second time going and I am very impressed with their dumplings. Today, my husband and I got the pork&shrimp shumai and chicken potstickers, along with some hot&sour soup. Flavors were great and each were cooked really well. The potstickers had an ice flower skirt (aka dumpling lace) and for some reason that really impressed me since I went to din tai fung and they didn't have that when I ate there. They have 2 locations in the DFW area but I've never been to the Plano one. I heard this location looks better and they also have a nice outdoor seating area for when the weathers nice! Can't say much about the service since we were trying to find someone to get us sauce dishes and already finished our food by the time someone came. They were really friendly though! read more
Hmm we really had higher expectations for the food, but perhaps we ordered the wrong items? See pictures below. Chili oil wontons- really no taste in the minced chicken and the chili oil lacked heat. Beef Mongolian- the flavor was amazing but the meat was sometimes chewy and over cooked. Three pepper chicken- our waitress recommended this as it's popular. This was our least preferred dish. The flavor is more umami than spice (if you like vinegar/sour flavor this is perfect!). But when the name of the dish is three spice, it lacked any spice. Also, too heavily battered and we barely tasted the chicken. Service was okay, our waitress was highly distracted but the manager did stop by and asked for feedback which we shared! I will give it points for ambiance though. Really cute decor and like the open kitchen concept so you can see the dumplings being made. read more

Food 5 out of 5 Freshly homemade and super tasty Chinese food. Highly recommended. Check in system 2 out of 5 There was a kiosk tablet near the bar counter (which was in the middle of floor) for you to drop off your name. It was hard to see/find it when I walked in, there were too many people waiting and blocking the view. It took us a while what to do since NO receptionist waiting NOR the kiosk tablet near the entrance. Customer service 3 out of 5 Not so friendly, they seem like they are focusing on doing their job but if they are more attentive to customers, it will make better experience. read more
