My favorite Chinese food in McKinney! So happy to find this gem right by our house. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is so nice, prices are great, and the food was delicious! We got: Chicken Egg Rolls, Veggie Lo Mein, Spicy Crispy Chicken (fried), Hot Spicy Chicken (stir fried), and Jalapeño Beef. The flavors on everything were on-point, with fresh and crunchy veggies. Our personal favorite was the beef, but there wasn't a bad bite in the bunch. 100% recommend this new place!

Love this restaurant. As soon as we saw the grand opening signs, my son and I were so excited to try it, and we have not been disappointed. The Mongolian beef is our top favorite, love the lo mein, kung pao chicken, egg rolls, spring rolls... we order at least once a month and probably more often than that. I'm pretty sure they know me by name now lol which reminds me, service is always welcoming and friendly.

My wife & I came here for a quick lunch. The service was good. The owners boy was friendly and eager to serve us. The eating area was clean. The Chinese food caters well with the people neighborhood.

I got the Mongolian Triple which has beef, chicken and shrimp. I asked the gentleman behind the counter what he recommended and he said the beef. I should've listened. The beef was amazing. Not that the triple wasn't great. In fact, it was awesome. I love that they've already pealed the shrimps and the shrimps were massive. I guess you can't go wrong with either choice. It was delicious and the portions are super generous. I also got white steamed rice. It also comes with a veggie roll. Such a tremendous value. I love little mom and pop shop like these. The taste and value just can't be beat. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes.

Crab Rangoon. Comes with 4. We ate one before I took the picture. Very yummy.

Bathrooms are cute, clean, and well stocked. What I didn't care for... I received my Mongolian beef early. My husband didn't get his orange chicken for 20ish minutes. I had a few bites but waited, we typically eat together. After 15 minutes, the eggrolls came out hot and fresh, now my food is getting cooler and the hubby still hasn't received his meal. All of this to say, consider making the easier dish later so they can be done together or hold meals until they can be served together. There was a long wait between food delivery, drink refills, and check, but in our servers defense: he was the only one serving, and it got busy for lunch. I may try it again when in the area

He offered suggestions and told us if there was anything we did not like to let him know. We had a lot of different things. The Red Devil Beef was super flavorful and like nothing I had before. It was a spicy but doable and full of yum. We also had the beef flat noodle, black bean chicken garlic, rangoons and green beans. When I say everything was cooked perfectly I mean everything. When I started writing the review I had it as 4 stars. I am often hesitant on giving a 5 on my first visit. Due to Ty taking personal accountability and catering to make everything just right I felt the 5 was well deserved. My only feedback is I felt the prices were just a little higher than expected. It was not ridiculous and maybe it is inflation. Regardless their food is good.

My first visit was solo, since I'd been curious for some time. It was just me, a bowl of wonton soup, and some Kung Pao Chicken, and the whole experience felt like I'd been teleported to a cozy spot in San Francisco. Warm ambiance, incredible food, and that "I could sit here for hours" vibe. I ate at the bar, which is by the entrance, people watched and enjoyed my delicious food. Naturally, I went back with a couple friends and my wife... and that's when things escalated. We ordered like we were feeding a small village. Kung Pao (again, because it's that good), House Special Soup Bao, chicken lo mein, pepper chicken, General Tso's chicken, and a bunch of other dishes that I lost track of somewhere between "wow" and "how are we still eating." Every single plate was fantastic. Not just "good for a group order," not just "surprisingly solid," it was legitimately delicious across the board. The table looked like a celebration, and we treated it like one. Every single dish was a great portion size, delicious, and tasted WONDERFUL. By the end, our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies, but honestly, if you're going to over‑order anywhere, this is the place to do it. I can't wait to go back... though next time I'll try to show at least a little self‑control. No promises. Chef Sun's is officially one of my favorite spots. Great food, great atmosphere, and the kind of consistency that keeps you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. When we got to out table we didn't know what to expect, The menu was packed with so many options so we tried a few different apps and dishes to share. We went with the popcorn chicken, chicken & shrimp shumai, steamed green beans, and cumin lamb. The popcorn chicken was awesome. Just the experience of it. You're presented with a bouquet of popcorn chicken. The chicken was flavorful and had a nice amount of spice to it. I opted not to add any chilis to my bites as I found the chicken alone to be just the right amount of spice. Would recommend this dish for the experience mainly. The chicken and shrimp shumai was outstanding. One of my friends has a strong dislike of any shrimp dish, but truly loved this. It was perfectly seasoned and so tasty. The steamed green beans were great and had the perfect amount of crunch. While the cumin lamb was seasoned well and tasted great. The only miss was the fried rice. I was honestly surprised that execution was so strong with everything else, but the rice lacked flavor. That said, I'd gladly come to Chef Sun's again.

The steak fried rice is excellent...a touch of garlic on the super tender steak and the rice is cooked perfectly The pork noodles followed and are delightful and full of flavor. The wings came out next and the buffalo and sticky Asian are nice size wings and really amazing to taste. Joe's lemon pepper options is a dry rub on wings that you can hear the crunch when you bite down. A pop of lemon with a back end of spice in pepper. First, many of the dishes lacked the authenticity. The hot and sour soup wasn't sour at all and was overwhelmed by the flavor of sesame oil. The black bean noodles tasted like instant noodles you could make at home, and we ended up adding black vinegar ourselves just to bring some acidity and balance to the dish. The sweet chili shrimp also didn't taste fresh. At the end of our meal, we literally said "this tasted like Chinese buffet food." The service and dining environment made the experience even worse. Throughout our meal, we constantly heard dishes being slammed around from servers cleaning tables. At one point, something was dropped so hard that dishes shattered across the floor. A trash cart was parked right next to our booth while we were eating, and the staff even started mopping the floor directly in front of us during the lunch rush. I understand that restaurants often hire seasonal staff during the summer, but proper training is still important. The way the dishes were handled throughout our meal was loud, chaotic, and disruptive, making it difficult to enjoy our dining experience. It's unfortunate because our first experience of this restaurant was great, but this visit fell well short of our expectations.

Likely spoiled after having lived in Vancouver, Toronto, and San Francisco. As for Rice Garden, drove by and decided to try hoping once again for almost anything I can be loyal to. This was clearly Americanized Chinese food and worth a try via takeout. Ratings below are in context of what's in North Texas. Prices: Very reasonable and doesn't feel like the many other restaurants who have taken inflation to a new level. Portions: Texas size and should have no complaints. Appearance: Clean Staff/service: No idea as was takeout, but food was packed ready to go within 20 mins of a web order. Food: Slightly bland which I welcomed bc I find most restaurants over oil or over salt their food. Would suggest some modest modifications to improve reception while still keeping food "Americanized" and keeping costs down. Hot & Sour Soup: Needs more black vinegar, as was imbalanced. It was also missing more of the usual traditional things like wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, strips of pork etc but with all of this no way one can sell for $5.99. Nonetheless, the vinegar alone would have brought it home. Sesame Chicken: Ordered white meat (and liked that they had that option with no up charge). Decent flavor, but slightly mushy hence may order extra crispy next time. Vegetable Hot Pot: It was just ok, very non-descript. In isolation reasonably priced, but compared to pricing of other items within the restaurant, it shouldn't be among the more expensive entrees. Kung Pao Shrimp: Ok, non descript, but edible and may/not order again. Also tasted (and looked) too similar to vegetable hot pot. Singapore Vermicelli: Decent, but needed slightly more curry flavor as was slightly on blander side. A small amount of BBQ pork strips (i.e., char siu) to balance out the chicken would have been nice. Will order again. Want to see them do well, and will do what I can to support them.

The biggest issue for us was the ordering system. Everyone has to scan a QR code, place their own order, and enter their phone number. For a large group, this became very confusing because when the food came out, there was no clear way to tell who ordered what. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out which dishes belonged to each person. If you're coming with a big party, I definitely recommend making a list of everyone's orders ahead of time so it's easier to organize when the food arrives. The food itself was extremely spicy. Most of the BBQ items -- seafood, chicken, beef, and pork -- seemed to have the same heavy cumin and spicy seasoning, so the flavors started tasting very similar. Personally, that wasn't for us. However, the soy sauce fried rice and the cold noodles were really good and stood out the most from the meal. The service was good overall, although communication was a little difficult at times because it was hard to understand the staff's accents. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. I think this place may work much better for smaller groups, but for our large party it was stressful and the food flavors were too repetitive for our taste. Unfortunately, it's probably not somewhere we would return to. Also they added 25% tip mandatory without mentioning it anywhere ; It was an experience though
