Soup dumplings
Jessica L.

Really wanted some authentic Chinese food and we searched and found this spot. Don't let the exterior fool you, because the interior was decorated so aesthetically; garden vibes. We ordered family style; they gave complimentary roasted peanuts, we ordered hot and sour soup, soup dumplings, roasted duck, garlic bok choy, pork with bean curds. It was all so delicious! Service was good; staff were professional and respectful. This restaurant is great for small or large groups. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, stop by here. Till then, let's eat!!!

We called Mom's Iron Wok to confirm if they had a dish and the lady who picked up was super nice. The staff were all very friendly. The dishes I most enjoyed were the Chives and Tofu (savory and tofu cooked perfectly) along with the Shrimp and Eggs (it looked like a dozen eggs were tossed in with the shrimps!). I didn't care for the Seafood Tofu as it was too gelatinous and the Dry Braised Fish were too small (two tiny fish) and didn't keep their fried texture because there was too much sauce and veggies.

My husband and I would drive to Plano to fulfill our Schezwan cravings. We no longer need to make that drive since this local spot serves legit Schezwan cuisine. Tried the fish filets in chili oil, crisy pork intenstine dry pot, braised pork and chinese broccoli. The fish dish is a definite must have. The broth provides a numbing spicy kick with a wonderful flavor. If you like a fire kick in your mouth, the dry pot is the way to go. My husband loves super spicy food so this dish was made for him. They also dish a great job with prepping the intenstines where it did not have the taste that can usually be off putting to most. The braised pork had a tasty sauce and creamy quail eggs mixed in. I think the pork could have spent a little more time braising as the meat was not as tender as other braised pork dishes ive had. The chinese broccoli was also wonderful. It was perfectly blanched where the stems had a nice crisp bite and not overly soggy. They also split up the stems from the leafy greens for those that prefer the leafy greens over the stems. Lastly the portions are family style Texas size at an affordable price. Definitely coming back to try all the other dishes.

Four different entrees.

Excellent meal! Great service. Some of the best hot and sour soup we've ever had. Kung Pao Chicken was excellent. We will return soon.

I've now been to Chef Sun's Noodle and Dumpling twice, and at this point I'm convinced they're…read morerunning some kind of delicious sorcery back there in the kitchen. My first visit was solo, since I'd been curious for some time. It was just me, a bowl of wonton soup, and some Kung Pao Chicken, and the whole experience felt like I'd been teleported to a cozy spot in San Francisco. Warm ambiance, incredible food, and that "I could sit here for hours" vibe. I ate at the bar, which is by the entrance, people watched and enjoyed my delicious food. Naturally, I went back with a couple friends and my wife... and that's when things escalated. We ordered like we were feeding a small village. Kung Pao (again, because it's that good), House Special Soup Bao, chicken lo mein, pepper chicken, General Tso's chicken, and a bunch of other dishes that I lost track of somewhere between "wow" and "how are we still eating." Every single plate was fantastic. Not just "good for a group order," not just "surprisingly solid," it was legitimately delicious across the board. The table looked like a celebration, and we treated it like one. Every single dish was a great portion size, delicious, and tasted WONDERFUL. By the end, our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies, but honestly, if you're going to over‑order anywhere, this is the place to do it. I can't wait to go back... though next time I'll try to show at least a little self‑control. No promises. Chef Sun's is officially one of my favorite spots. Great food, great atmosphere, and the kind of consistency that keeps you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. I give this place my Arnold Schwarzenegger - "I'LL BE BACK!"

When we got to out table we didn't know what to expect, The menu was packed with so many options so we tried a few different apps and dishes to share. We went with the popcorn chicken, chicken & shrimp shumai, steamed green beans, and cumin lamb. The popcorn chicken was awesome. Just the experience of it. You're presented with a bouquet of popcorn chicken. The chicken was flavorful and had a nice amount of spice to it. I opted not to add any chilis to my bites as I found the chicken alone to be just the right amount of spice. Would recommend this dish for the experience mainly. The chicken and shrimp shumai was outstanding. One of my friends has a strong dislike of any shrimp dish, but truly loved this. It was perfectly seasoned and so tasty. The steamed green beans were great and had the perfect amount of crunch. While the cumin lamb was seasoned well and tasted great. The only miss was the fried rice. I was honestly surprised that execution was so strong with everything else, but the rice lacked flavor. That said, I'd gladly come to Chef Sun's again.

Crab noodles: VERY generous amount of crab meat. Super creamy, seafood forward flavor. If you like shellfish, this is for you. Dan Dan noodles: Lighter flavor profile compared to other Dan Dan noodles I've tried. Refreshing! Scallion oil noodles: this was my favorite. The sauce is addicting and the noodle texture is so addicting. Love the crispy fried scallions on top. A must order. Beef noodles soup: Also very solid choice. The broth is clean and the beef is tender. Lots of veggies on top which I like. Skewers: they're all pretty solid and have similar cumin seasonings. I think the beef/lamb was my favorite. Very "futuristic" vibe inside. Good amount of parking.

Only ate a bite. ~ Beef, shrimp, and chicken fried noodle (3.5/5): taste like hu tieu ap chao but a bit oilier. This was was good but I think it would be better with some pickled peppers or spicier. I would have also liked it hot rather than luke-warm. ~ Pork belly noodle soup (3.5/5) + spicy + numbing: the broth was rich and flavorful! We added the spicy and numbing customization but it wasn't that spicy and wasn't numbing at all. This dish was also luke-warm. Service: You walk in and choose your own table unless you're ordering to-go (then you order at the kiosk up front). If dining in, there's a QR code on the table to scan and order online. You can continue ordering and the kitchen will make it and send it to your table. When ready for the check, the app will send a notification to a server that brings out the check.. kind of defeats the purpose of doing everything through the website. They seemed extremely short staffed with only one server. You won't be able to ask for any condiments, napkins, to-go box, etc. as nobody stops by your table and it was difficult to get the attention of the server at all... we asked for an extra bowl which we never received. Ambiance: the place isn't that big and had a steady flow of customers. I liked how it wasn't too loud and was a good place to catch up with my friend.

Bathrooms are cute, clean, and well stocked. What I didn't care for... I received my Mongolian beef early. My husband didn't get his orange chicken for 20ish minutes. I had a few bites but waited, we typically eat together. After 15 minutes, the eggrolls came out hot and fresh, now my food is getting cooler and the hubby still hasn't received his meal. All of this to say, consider making the easier dish later so they can be done together or hold meals until they can be served together. There was a long wait between food delivery, drink refills, and check, but in our servers defense: he was the only one serving, and it got busy for lunch. I may try it again when in the area

He offered suggestions and told us if there was anything we did not like to let him know. We had a lot of different things. The Red Devil Beef was super flavorful and like nothing I had before. It was a spicy but doable and full of yum. We also had the beef flat noodle, black bean chicken garlic, rangoons and green beans. When I say everything was cooked perfectly I mean everything. When I started writing the review I had it as 4 stars. I am often hesitant on giving a 5 on my first visit. Due to Ty taking personal accountability and catering to make everything just right I felt the 5 was well deserved. My only feedback is I felt the prices were just a little higher than expected. It was not ridiculous and maybe it is inflation. Regardless their food is good.
