The location and outdoor tranquility alone is worth a visit. But if you have small children and a dog or two, you can bring them all in for some seriously good food. Everyone who works here is always so helpful. The covered patio's wooden picnic tables are always the seats to go first. You order at the bar and they give you a number if you're dining in. There's a fantastic general store inside that sells their own pickled veggies and meats. There's also some nice bottled sodas too. We've only been for lunch. The dinner rush is supposed to be their busiest. It makes sense since they have live music in the evening. Match that up with the beer, string lights, and spring/summer nights for a perfect dinner. We'll have to be back to try it sometime! I have to admit - I've had many sandwiches in my life and what really made this was the ciabatta. I'm not a big fan of the bread because it's either too dense or there's too much of it and I'm eating 95% bread and 5% sandwich filling. Our eldest son invited us for lunch to try this BBQ place in McKinney. This bbq place is busy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The place is next to a farmland with cows and goats that can be seen roaming on the fenced grass land. They make their own beef products like sausages, steaks and packed it in an airtight bags being sold inside the Market next to the bbq order counter. They also have a bar where you can order your favorite drinks or cocktails. I ordered beef brisket plus 2 sides of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Wifey ordered Chicken salad croissant sandwich with all the trimmings. The brisket is not well marinated. You need to deep it in their special bbq sauce, but it's thinly sliced, soft and moist. Taste good, but small portions. The croissant sandwich came up with all the trimmings, it taste good. They have an area where kids can play and hangout, being watched by Parents. After several recommendations, we finally had the chance to go and check it out for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon. We had the 2 meat plates, hubby's was pulled pork and brisket, mine was smoked chicken and brisket. So freakin' good! We shared an order of fried okra. It was crispy and delicious! I was out in the area doing some work when I drove by this place one afternoon. I looks like an old farm house that has been converted to a BBQ and live music venue. That Friday I took my sexy women out for a date there it was really cool. The BBQ was pretty standard..... the Mac and cheese was really on point. But it's such a cool little venue.... kids running around but not in the way, people with lawn chairs in front of the stage, looked like a full bar, a good number of table, and white lights everywhere. This was a wonderful drive by!! We went to the pumpkin patch down the street and afterwards we came back to get some bbq. We are sooo glad we did!! It was absolutely amazing!!! The Corner BBQ "shack" is now comprised of a gorgeous outdoor deck, pavilion, lawn, and picnic area. There is plenty of room to run around or relax in the shade. Staff are super friendly. The brunch menu is fantastic. Order at the window and they give you a buzzer -- everything is cooked fresh and made to order, and it's worth the wait. The Texas Tostada was smoky, salty, and perfectly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Smoked Chicken Migas had a delicate sweetness to them, and the homemade flour tortillas were soft and warm. I'm really conflicted here! I want to scream from the rooftops about this place to get the word out but, then again, do I really want to have to fight you for insanely delicious farm to picnic table BBQ? This is off the beaten path and that's what I love most about it. Turn on some John Denver (unless you prefer Texas Country) and take a country road to Corner BBQ shack. Make sure you check their hours first and if you want BBQ, come on the weekend. When we pulled up we were greeted by a very tall, stout gentleman rancher. Mr John Johnson runs this farm and he will show you what southern hospitality is right when you arrive. You can't miss his South African accent but don't let that fool you. This man knows Texas BBQ quality and it shows in his work. After a long conversation and personal tour of the place from Mr Johnson, we met Pam. She is the sweet lady running the market store. Yes, I said market store!! Wanna grab some homemade jam, queso, salsa, pickled vegetables or maybe their house made sausages, on-site butchered meats and homemade soups? We purchased the jalapeño cheddar sausage, fresh ground pork, el Diablo salsa and the jalapeño queso which is crazy good! I'd get it all again! I haven't opened the blueberry jam yet but if it's anything like all the other stuff I've tried, we're good! Now the food. Oh. The. Food. The hubs had the prime brisket sandwich. I should have stolen it from him because the bite he shared melted in my mouth like butter. I didn't know meat could melt quite like this did. My pulled pork sandwich was equally delicious and you'd be a silly fool not to get the onion rings with your meal. All the food is house made, even the buns were a slightly sweet sourdough and perfect addition to highlight the meat. On my list next is the burger. There's something about fresh beef from a farm! We devoured our meals before I remembered to get pictures but don't worry I'm gonna head back over there this week for that burger. In the works: Mr Johnson threw out some hints that they are growing this place to something special. He pointed out where they are building a stage with plans for live music and a bigger seating area. Honestly the plans were exciting but I'll be a regular here regardless. I truly felt like I was a guest at Mr Johnson's home. You can't beat that feeling and I hope they never lose it. Take a Friday off work. This is strictly a breakfast review as I haven't tried the bbq or lunch yet. First off it's a very cute place. Very friendly people. Redneck Benedict- has biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs, onion and jalapeño. It was excellent. It's a lot of good. Bacon and jalapeño pancakes- I wasn't sure what it expect with these. Was worried they would be too. Spicy with the jalapeños and it would over power the pancakes. I was wrong. The bacon and jalapeños were very visible in bing chunks through the pancakes but yet it somehow was very subtle and not overpowering. The pancakes were so light and fluffy. They are so good. I imagine just regular pancakes are awesome too. I was told the breakfast sandwich was great too. I will definitely be back as I live right down the street now. Well we had the Birria tacos and chicken sandwich. My fault on not asking fried chicken. The grilled chicken was 6/10 decent smoke flavor but that's it, the bread was the winner on that one. The tacos were disappointing very fatty, mostly fat and hardly no meat in the taco, one did have it and the other did not, but for 18 dollars for two tacos, come on now. It was lacking some sort of salsa. The mac and cheese was a 10 and it really saved the day. I would come back and try some other stuff and see if the review changes. read more

This is some of the best BBQ I have ever had. The best hidden secret in Texas. There is so much to appreciate at this place. First off it is family owned and ran which the family takes pride in the fact that this is a farm to table restaurant. They are only open 3 days a week and try to make it as community based as possible. Making and experience with having concerts and a laidback family friendly environment. All of the workers are amazing and truly love their job. Now the food. I am normally not a sausage person but this sausage is to die for. I will be returning for the sausage alone. Their brisket and pulled pork sandwiches are fantastic because the quality of the meat and they make their own homemade bread. The ribs are done beautifully every time with a nice spiced dry rub, elevate the flavors by adding some of their BBQ sauce to them. This is the best hidden secret in Texas BBQ. Such a great family place. It is not only a BBQ restaurant. On Friday and Saturdat nights it is also a concert venue. The BBQ is amazing. The jalapeno cheese sausage is yummy. The sides are so good. Not a huge issue but let's try to combine to make it easier for the customer. Family friendly, large area for kids to run around, live music plenty of outdoor seating. Food is where they lose me....I was super excited to try the pineapple coleslaw....100% tastes like vinegar. Fries/okra were good but waaaaay too much salt. The staff made you fell welcome with great suggestions off the menu, now to the good stuff the food at the table we had loaded FF with pulled pork that melted in your mouth goodness. The FF still had a good crunch to them with all that goodness on top, we also had the chopped brisket sandwich with the most perfect crunch onion rings you will ever have. Omg, this place is so cool! It is literally like a farm! I got the fried chicken sandwich and onion rings, which were literally amazing. Hubs loved his burger as well. Everything tastes so fresh, if I didn't know any better, I would say they chopped a chicken up and gave it to me . Also, this place is great for kids! So much room for kids to run around and have fun (although don't let them run around too much--it's right on a Main Street, and the cars come quite fast). I also got some of their homemade blueberry jam, which was so so yummy. Unfortunately, they were out of the mango habanero, but I did get to try a sample. I can't even describe how yummy it was!! First, the environment is so fun. Live music, kids playing, nice staff, good food. I do want to acknowledge that the 4 instead of 5 stars is because we waited an hour to get our food, they gave us the wrong side, and their system to serve food to you seems distressing to the food runner. They give you buzzers to know when your food is ready but you don't go get it, the food runner has to search for you everywhere. We watched the poor guy spin circles with a tray for over 10 minutes because he couldn't find whose buzzer was going off amongst the throng of people. We ended up having to take our food to go because we had a babysitter waiting and the food took way longer than reasonable to get to us. It helped that we were able to go to the bar and tide over with drinks while we waited. When we ate at home we found the ribs had good flavor and were tender but needed some salt - as did the potato casserole. The bbq sauce seemed tomato forward which I liked. My loaded tots were a great value / filling and flavorful but had very few onions or cilantro which it really needed to combat the richness of cheese and pork. Absolutely bring chairs to sit on the lawn if you are arriving past 6:30 - tables were a scarcity. We will definitely be back to give food another go - if the wait is routinely that long it will probably just be a place we go for drinks. read more

This place is with the trip out of town. As already described it is right on CR 168 and has limited hours. The barbecue is made from scratch including using their own meat. They are open for breakfast so we have to try that next. Be aware it is patio seating only so we ate in brisk 48* weather. read more
