Meats are smoked on-point and they don't cut corners in doing so. The customer service and overall vibe is an experience that's incredibly rare to find. It's very peaceful, and the love can be found in the BBQ. There was a huge mistake in my order, and it ended up costing my family's+kids entire weekend schedule since I had to drive all the way out back. But their customer service did everything in their power to try to make it right. Personal suggestions: Pineapple coleslaw had too much mayonnaise, really liked the balance of pineapple flavor, but mayonnaise was way too overpowering and heavy, wanted something lighter. Also, I personally felt ribs were a tad overcooked, but all the other meats (Brisket, Pastrami, Pulled-Pork) were all on-point. read more

We stopped by on Saturday. The place is nice to see and the store was full of good things to eat. Great El diobla hot sauce, but it was not hot. However, It was tasty. We ordered half a rack ribs and one chicken sandwich to go. The food looked great and was seasoned well. The only problem with both meats were very dry. The thigh meat was so dry I used up the little cup of bbq sauce that came with it. The ribs were so good and so dry!. Maybe we came at the wrong time. read more

We passed by Corner BBQ Shack heading home and decided to make a u-turn and check it out. It's a very cool spot to eat and hang out. My wife ordered the pastrami sandwich I ordered a chicken and veg(keto) plate and a South African sausage. We're from California and have been to New York and we love pastrami, this was the best pastrami we've ever had. All beef comes from the farm it's located on so it's as fresh as it can be. You have to stop and eat here...this is going to be our go to place to eat from now on. We also had a great chat with the owner who was walking around and greeting everyone. There is also a small country store, they sell fresh beef, pre-packages meals , etc. read more

Staff is amazing!! I feel like I'm at someone's ranch home and they invited me over to eat some great Q, drink something adult and listen to some live music among friends. This place is really something special! Hidden on the backroads outside of McKinney city limits is this outdoor only seating, cozy eatery w/ a small bar; if you weren't looking for it you might miss it! Mom and I found out this land and restaurant is owned by a South African native who raises his own cattle for the restaurant. We really enjoyed the ribs, brisket and sausage. DELISH!! Another cool piece to this place is the sweet/quaint country store inside. They sell things like homemade local salsas, raw meats and a few other specialty items. First time there and absolutely loved it. The cheesesteak I had was fantastic. My wife had two tacos and the tortilla was grilled which was a nice touch. The bar had great drinks and the atmosphere was very family friendly with lots of room for kids to run around. Music stage provides live entertainment. All of the staff was great and the store had lots of great food and merchandise for sale. It is a new must go place for us and highly recommend! read more

Some how I found out about this place for "Having The Best BBQ in McKinney", which caught my attention. I thought it would be the same ole' folks winning the award but I had never heard of this place. What a hidden Gem, so glad we tried it. BBQ is awesome, and if you like it, you can walk right into the store and buy some meat to take home and smoke it yourself. The sell jam's, pepper sauce,, all kinds of stuff in their store. They have a full bar and wine. Prices are not ridiculous. Seating is outdoors, they have some covered area's. It was about 5 degrees cooler being away from all the city concrete and heat. Very nice property with fans, picnic tables and pergola's. They had Country Singer Matt Mason there who was really good. In the cooler months the owner told me they have fire pits they roll out and everyone can sit around them. It is dog friendly with bowls of water and plenty of good BBQ getting dropped on the ground for them. Kids were playing yard football, corn hole, etc. Just a really nice experience and great vibe, help was very attentive and pro-active. We will be back. read more

Finally! A local, neighborhood BBQ spot that knows how to properly prepare protein. Locally sourced and aged onsite like a fine wine, it won't be long before Corner BBQ Shack starts getting some chatter in the "Best BBQ Spots in DFW." And for those of us who prefer high-end cuts with attention to the center of the plate, the inside shop houses a traditional butcher shop you won't find at any area stores. Throw in some live music and family friendly sunset settings on the lawn and Corner BBQ Shack has quickly become our go-to hidden gem (that won't stay hidden for long). Great concept, Big John. What a disappointment. Made the drive based on 5-star rating but such a fail. Girl at window would not even smile, wouldn't say anything until we ordered and she'd then tell us they were out of it, such as the jalapeno cheddar sausage and the Fritos for Frito pie. We got farmers sausage sandwich, meatball sandwich and pastrami since it was supposed to be amazing. Farmers sausage was skinny bland sausage on a roll type bun. Bread was good, light and fluffy and reason for the 2 stars meatballs (2) on sandwich were large nut bland, no seasoning and just enought tomato sauce on outside of them to say they had sauce but not enough to add any flavored. Came fluffy light bread but almost too soft for holding meatballs. Pastrami was on slightly different bread, not as light, little difference in taste. Three tiny strips of pastrami seemed good but not enough on bread to even really taste it. Tiny amount of cooked to complete mush onions smeared on bread. All sandwichs were too expensive for what you got. Meatball came withvdill pickle spear but was just generic pickle brand. Inside store looked clean but there was a terrible sewage smell so we left fast. Will not go back, so not worth the effort. Truly don't understand what rave reviews were about unless they're all friends/family of owners. Large party turned up, scooted two tables in front of doors and we're so loud and standing around taking over outside eating area, staff did nothing to move them away from door or get them to settle at a table when food orders finally started coming out, that party stopped server every trip to ask questions or ask for something about food they were holding. They held up our orders as well. read more
