After spending quite a bit of time in the Philippines this year for work, I learned to appreciate Philippine culture and food a lot more. Not only because I was born and raised in the USA, but the Filipino eating experience is sure something else. Glad to have visited this place! Definitely hit the spot in terms Filipino Taste and comfort, minus the Filipino portions (small portions almost tapas like) . Came here mostly because I have been craving Lechon Kawali for the past few days. The lechon kawali was perfectly cooked, not too oily and definitely an enjoyable item. Paired with Garlic rice and eggs, this has the makings of an enjoyable meal in itself! Definitely cannot go wrong with this combo and best of all the quality and the flavor! The price alone ($10) for this one dish is definitely a win! They also had the Beef Mami ( Beef Noodle Soup) on their menu, so I also had to order one for myself! For a Beef Mami this is reasonably portioned and sized for a Filipino Beef Noodle soup. The broth had the rich beefy flavor that Beef Mami is known for and the cuts of beef they used was definitely rich and flavorful! I kinda messed up by over ordering, but I am not complaining because it hit the spot! They also have tusok tusok (skewers with street food) available. I tried the Fried Shumai, which was delicious. The Kwek Kwek was good in my opinion, because the batter they fried the quail eggs in was actually crispy and not soggy, which was enjoyable. For the Kwek Kwek I don't have a solid baseline to judge it being that I never had it in the Philippines, but it was delicious nonetheless! The eatery itself is set up with outdoor seating. This is heavily reminiscent of eating at a lot of outdoor eateries in the Philippines, which led to a pleasant experience for me! It was almost like sitting in the Philippines minus the humid heat of course. Overall, I would say this is some of the best tasting Filipino food that I have experienced in the DFW considering the ones I have been to have been a bust. Delicious taste and reasonably priced is a win for me! The owners are very nice too, so It feels good to be supporting a local Filipino business in the DFW!
