    Steak and Eggs

I've always liked this place and usually leave happy, even though the portions aren't massive (which is fine by me if the quality is there). Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown. My chicken was small and extremely thin -- like paper-thin cutlet thin -- and it came out very dry and overcooked, with a burnt, almost charcoal-like taste. In the past, they've served a thicker, juicier piece that's flavorful and well-cooked, so this was a noticeable drop in quality. I'm hoping this was just an off day because they normally do much better, but it was disappointing compared to their usual standards. Half of my little chicken slice was inedible.

Cute little cafe which is full of red truck paraphernalia. I ordered the cheesy shrimp and grits with a side of scrambled eggs which was delicious. However, the service was horrible. I notice that it improved when an older gentleman arrived and was behind the register. Perhaps the owner or a manager? Food five stars, Service 1 star.

Finally stopped by Red Truck Cafe in Plano after driving past it every day on my way to work. After a weekend of crazy snow in Collin Co., it felt like the perfect spot to start our day. We ordered the Migas with chorizo and the steak and eggs. The steak was tender but could've used a little more flavor. The Migas were ok, not bad, but nothing that stood out. What really made the experience was the service, polite, attentive, but not intrusive. Early in the morning, before my first sip of coffee, that's exactly what I appreciate. Overall, a decent spot for breakfast with friendly service, though the food could use a little more seasoning.

Third time in three weeks. Brought wife and daughter there. They loved their chicken fried steak and desserts.

It's a cozy and welcoming café. I wasn't very hungry--I just stopped by to feed my baby and enjoy a cup of coffee. The pancakes are fluffy and not overly sweet, and the portion size is just right. The sausage links were nicely cooked. The coffee is a bit mild, but it goes well with the food they serve. The interior has a red theme, with several red truck decorations and red paintings. Overall, it's a very cute café

Perfect Sunday morning breakfast place. Big thick and fluffy pancakes and sausage were what I needed after working a night shift. Fun atmosphere and wonderful service. Great prices as well! Will come back!

My second time sampling their fine cafe fare. This time I dined in. Craving a real meal I quickly eliminated the usual suspects when I remembered Red Truck. So,I jumped in my red truck and hauled over just in time to catch the Sunday special of pot roast potatoes and carrots along with chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. It did the trick. If you want " home cooking" without doing the work... Go!

This place is a hidden gem when it comes to the decor and ambience. It feels super diner and dive-y inside which was very cute. There are red trucks everywhere and they were playing bingo on one side of the restaurant. Unfortunately the food was very mediocre at most and the service was super slow, too. We got the chicken fried steak, chicken salad sandwich, liver & onions, and chocolate cream pie. The food was all just ok. Nothing was super memorable or amazing. It was more comparable to Denny's or IHOP at most I would say.. and we were hungry, too. The one good things was the broccoli casserole. It was really really good. The mashed potatoes were blah and the mac and cheese was the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. The prices weren't particularly cheap either. Parking is plentiful.

Really good chicken, fried steak, excellent okra and good tasting eggs

I'm a big chicken fried steak fan. In fact I order it in any state in the US that I'm eating. The steak was well seasoned but not quite as crispy as I would like it next time I will order it extra crispy, but I can't deny this chicken fried steak is sometimes they don't have much flavor and this one is super well seasoned. Okra is a 10 out of 10 and their eggs are tasty and fresh iced tea is got good bite to it. I had the pleasure of having Casey serve me today. She is a doll. Lastly, the price is right and the place is immaculate, bright and well appointed. I will definitely have breakfast here tomorrow morning while I'm here in business

    Blackened Shrimp Cheese Grits

Both meals were a solid 4 stars. We went on a weekday for lunch and they still had quite a crowd. The restaurant is overly decorated for Christmas so it was very festive inside. We ordered the smothered steak with fried okra and French fries and the Shrimp and grits. The shrimp was seasoned and cooked well but the grits were lack luster. The serving sizes are plentiful so I had enough to take home for another meal. This is a solid choice for breakfast or lunch/dinner. We will be back.

Red Truck Cafe has a very homey and country town feel to it. We came in early in the morning and greeted by a nice and conversational waitress. There is a huge selection of menu items. The food was not mind blowing but filled me up for a good while. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Blackened grilled chicken sandwich and onion rings

I have had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast here twice. Both times were great service and prices. The portions are large and price point is average. (Poor Richard's has become too rich for me). I have options and, I choose Red Truck Cafe for great tasting food. The staff is always friendly and breakfast is served all day for us late risers. The company and coffee are always delicious too. Red Truck has lots of options if you don't want breakfast-this time I enjoyed the delicious, big battered onion rings and grilled, blackened chicken sandwich. Meal was very good and onion rings were perfectly battered and tasty when dipped in a side of ranch. My mom enjoyed her crispy bacon, large, pancakes and eggs. The portions are large so we can never finish them all. The decor is cute-with a farm or cozy chic decor. I highly recommend it and like to take my mom and her girls out for delicious food and fun. In the past we had biscuits and gravy, SOS-it lived up to its motto! We will be back-love this quaint family owned cafe.

My double cheeseburger emphasized the meat, well seasoned, right amount of pickles & greens, not overwhelmed with sauce. The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together. They tasted amazing with the spicy Russian dipping sauce (which I appreciated wasn't too spicy). It was such a flavorful and memorable dish! I'm glad I gave it a try.

The queso was warm, but not piping hot, and the texture was a little gritty, almost powder-like. We were expecting a creamier cheese, so it was good, but not our favorite part of the meal. Now, the star of the show was definitely the Boss Hog flatbread. It was cooked to perfection, baked really well, and had that nice crispy texture. It was good and we ate it up pretty quickly. We requested another basket of chips to finish off the queso. To eat with our burgers we ordered hand punched fries and sweet potato fries. The hand cut fries were nice and thick and you could taste the salt. I enjoyed eating them with ketchup. The sweet potato fries were also thick and salty and you could taste the flavor of the potato. No need for ketchup with these fries unless you want it. For my burger I ordered the HL Hunt cooked medium which comes with white cheese, bacon, blackberry compote and mustard. The burger was filling, the cheese was melted but it had little flavor, and the bacon was chewy. The compote was my favorite part of the burger as it added a slightly sweet flavor. I requested a medium cooked burger but it didn't taste that way but it was still good despite that. Overall Rodeo Goat has lots of seating and friendly staff but I would go at an off peak time so that you don't have to wait a long time for everything. The food was still good despite the wait.
