Hard to see from the street when driving by. The food is so good. Crispy potatoes, eggs were done right, sausage patties were tasty and the biscuits and gravy is what I came for. The waitress was very polite and kept my glass full with fresh iced tea. Has a good ole cafe feel.

Warm, calming and clean atmosphere in the dining room this morning.

What a nice "joke in the wall" type of cafe! The outside is "very basic", but those who venture through the double set of doors find themselves in a very pleasant, clean dining room perfect for morning breakfast! The service was great - very attentive from my entrance, quick cup of coffee to get started and ready to get my order in. I had the French Toast combo with eggs over easy and bacon. Bacon was acceptable, eggs were done right and the coffee was fine - the French Toast was fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed my Friday morning break with a great affordable breakfast here - I plan to bring friends next time.

John's Cafe in Plano has been there for years. I finally tried them out for breakfast this past weekend and was impressed. I was just sad that I haven't eaten there sooner. I arrived around 11am and it was somewhat busy, but I was able to get a booth right away. I was greeted immediately upon seating with menus and she took my drink order. The fresh hot coffee arrived a few minutes later and she also took my order. The coffee was great. Not too weak and not too strong. The perfect mix for my tastes. I ordered the meat lover's omelette with a side of hash browns and an English muffin. I requested they butter and grill the English muffin as opposed to just toasting it and it came out perfect. The omelette was good and filled with ingredients. The hash browns had the right amount of crisp to them. This is definitely a little hole-in-the-wall family run business and it shows. They all love what they do and take care of their diners. The inside was very clean and charming. They had a nice mix of music playing in the background. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot for breakfast. They do serve lunch as well, but I have not tried any lunch items yet. If it's anything like their breakfasts, you can't go wrong.

On our way to Galveston, we found this place on Yelp and decided to try it. And it was a great choice! Albeit not a large restaurant it was comfortable and roomy. We had omelettes and biscuits and gravy. Both were excellent! I'm going this review a week later, so I can't say what they were. But I do remember it was delicious and filling! Friendly staff and accommodating!

The portions are large and the food was delicious. I ordered the corn beef hash, hash browns, 3 eggs , and biscuits with gravy. At first when you walk in it looks a bit beaten down but trust the food was fantastic. Service was prompt and on point. A bit pricey but you get the food!

Caliente Omelet

When I saw the restaurant's website was in Spanish, I knew what I was getting... a Mexican-inspired breakfast. I ordered the Caliente Omelet. Unlike similar omelets at other places, I did not feel as if they were trying to get rid of their jalapeno. There was sufficient amount of jalapeno peppers in the omelet. The salsa was very lacking, more watery than either spicy or flavorful. The toast was nearly burnt on one side and very burnt on the other. My waitress came to check on me only once after I got my food. While I was eating my breakfast, I was expecting her to drop off the check. By the time I finished my second cup of coffee, I never got the check and had to go to the register to get it.

This place does not disappoint for good home cooking. Tiki Hubby share the Caliente Omelette, chrozio, tomato, cheddar cheese, onions and jalapeños perfect for cold morning we chose biscuits and gravy and crispy hashbrowns $13.24 enough for both of us. Good ice tea and coffee best waitress. Gets full on Weekend mornings.

This place met our expectations of a hole in the wall diner. It was surprisingly clean inside and they're playing chill pop music so it was comfortable inside. When we arrived at noon on a Sunday, there was only 1 other table full. They have lots of bottled drink options including Starbucks, Jarritos, and monsters. The Bad: Do not order the home potatoes. Ours came out burned and way too crispy. The syrup for the pancakes weirdly tasted like vanilla frosting which ruined the cakes. The Hollandaise and gravy both tasted like packaged sauces. Most of the food tasted under seasoned. The Good: The bacon was cooked perfectly crunchy/chewy. The biscuits were strangely soft and cake like, but they were good. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a soft runny center. The price was the best part. You're going to get a large filling breakfast for under $10 a person. If you come on the weekends, you can get the eggs Benny for $8.

Cafe sign and a real diner feel.

When we find places that we are interested in and our lists match, it's a place to go to. This place has gotten a lot of publicity for a good reason. It's good. Burgers are a pretty simple item to cook but for some reason some places do it better than others. This is one of those places. We really enjoyed our food! I would only recommend going to fresh cut fries, I understand the reason its tough, as it adds another level of work for a small spot that the owners work everyday from open to close already to add one more task but it maybe worth it since the burgers are so good to match it with something great too. Service is what you expect from a burger joint order at the register and they bring it to you when it's ready, which is pretty quick. Happy with how it went especially given the busy lunch crowd. As far as places to sit and the inside of the place, just keep in mind its a burger joint and a busy one at that, so get a seat when you can and enjoy the fresh food. It's got plenty of room for most but be aware a big group is gonna be a challenge. Overall, excellent place with great food and hard working folks making a living, I love places like this! Give it a shot you will be pretty impressed!

The atmosphere is super laid back and casual, which we liked--but just a heads up, this isn't the place to go if you're in a hurry. They definitely take their time. There's a ton of seating both inside and outside, and the space itself is pretty fun. The decor is entertaining and they even have some little games around, which adds to the vibe. Everything felt clean--the tables were well taken care of and the bathrooms were spotless. As for food, we ordered the Blue Goat, the H.L. Hunt, the Royale with Cheese, and the cheese fries (No Surprise). I had the Blue Goat (no onions). It was good overall, though I wish the blue cheese flavor was a bit stronger. My husband got the H.L. Hunt and really enjoyed the candied bacon. Our son had the Royale with Cheese and it filled him up so much that he didn't even touch fries--and he loves fries, so that says a lot. Speaking of fries, the order was HUGE--easily enough for 5-6 people. If we come back, I'd definitely dig into those first while the cheese is still warm and gooey. By the time we got to them after our burgers, everything had kind of stuck together. Overall, a fun, casual spot with solid burgers and massive portions--just plan for a slower-paced experience.

The decor and theme are inspired by New Orleans/Creole/Cajun vibes, and it's beautifully put together. The layout of the location is a slight "L" shape, so seating can be a bit limited during busy times. It's a seat-yourself setup, and they provide QR codes at the tables for you to place your order and pay when you're ready. Now, onto the food and service. Unfortunately, the wait for both food and drinks were longer than expected, even as the rush began to die down. Our pretzel appetizer didn't arrive until near the end of our meal, and sadly, it was overcooked. Drinks The beer was great and a definite highlight of the experience. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers Giant Pub Pretzel ($13.99): A 12.05 oz pretzel served with signature beer cheese and beer mustard. Unfortunately, this dish was a disappointment. Despite being called "Giant," the pretzel was thin, and was a bit overcooked. While we enjoyed the beer cheese, the beer mustard could have stayed in the kitchen. Loaded Broccoli ($8.99): Steamed broccoli seasoned with Cajun spices, topped with melted cheese and your choice of chicken, beef, or pulled pork. I chose chicken, which was delicious and well-seasoned. However, the cheese was a huge letdown, it had an odd, roux-like texture and flavor that nearly made the dish inedible. Entrée Voo-Dill Pickle Pizza ($12.99): Made with roasted garlic pesto, fresh mozzarella, thick-cut pickles, and a special Voo-Dill seasoning. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short. The pizza crust was undercooked, and the pickles seemed like they were added at the very end instead of being baked with the pizza. The garlic pesto was the highlight of this dish. Desserts -King Cake Slice ($3.XX): Clearly store-bought and not made in-house. It also took a while to reach our table, which was odd considering it's pre-packaged. The kitchen area even had the King Cake box visible. Beignets ($7.99): Over-fried and served with icing that was overly lemony, which overpowered the dish. Side Order Jalapeño Slaw ($2.99): The star of the meal! It had the perfect balance of mayo and vinegar, with a fresh kick from the jalapeños and Cajun spices. I wish I had ordered more! I think this place has a lot of potential. The concept is fantastic, but the kitchen needs improvement. I do plan to return and give it another try because the space and the idea are great. Hopefully, next time the food lives up to the vision!
