I'm giving Scrambler 3 stars because I go there all of the time for their omelettes and scrambles to order breakfast. I haven't gotten service in the dining room because I always get it to go. Yesterday was a TOTALLY bizarre experience at the Scrambler. I tried to order food online with their Toast online platform, which is not a difficult platform to order to go. I've ordered from several other restaurants with their platform. I tried to order my order multiple times and it kept saying error. I finally called it in to pick up and pay. I looked at my bank and the restaurant charged me three times for my order! The manager was so rude and did not even offer to comp my meal after I had already paid THREE times! It was beyond rude. It doesn't stop there.. then she demanded that I call my bank and have her speak to them about the transactions. That is a confidential conversation that you wouldn't let anyone else have with your bank. THEN, she proceeded to call the Plano Police. They told her that there is nothing that they can do because technically the restaurant owes money back to me. Total eye roll to say the least over a club sandwich on a Monday! I will continue to be a patron of this restaurant because this Asian manager is not indicative of how the Scrambler operates when just the normal Hispanic girls work the restaurant. I'm not sure what that was about but I still got double charged for my order yesterday and only got two of the charges back. As part of the Plano community, this woman should be fired and the owner of Scrambler cafe owes me over $40 in total. It's sad that we basically have to sue someone in a "civil" manner because they just do bad business. She should have offered me the difference of what thye owed and called it a day. She claimed there was no record of any of the transactions for their restaurant on her end on Toast. This is so not necessary and a complete waste of my day. Just a last comment - there is a reason that I don't sit down and stay to order food there. It's always extremely crowded and borderline looks like it's over fire code for that many people to be in there. They don't serve mimosas or bloody marys so that is why I'm not usually interested in staying there, along with the obvious sanitary issues. They also state in the front of the building that they have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. What restaurant doesn't have restrooms? Things have just gotten worse and worse for the Scrambler and I hope they make it. If they close, I will miss the Scrambler Scramble! read more

Great spot! Would give a 4.5 stars. Even though they said they were short staffed, service was still very quick and kind. Coffee was pretty strong and flavorful. I had the hash stack: I modified and did the bacon only, no sausage. The gravy wasn't too salty and didn't drown everything. Hash browns at the bottom still remained pretty crispy even with the gravy. Overall good ratio of all of the items. I even enjoyed the cinnamon toast on the side. Tasted fresh and not processed (it is from a local bakery). Also shared my husband's pancakes: they had a EVER SO SLIGHT gummy chew to them (reminding me of a microwave frozen pancake), but it was still tasty. On a lazy Saturday morning we enjoyed a delightful breakfast from Scrambler Cafe. We ordered 2 kinds of pancakes: one had chocolate chips and fruit and the other was a serving of plain pancakes. They were both very good. I loved the one with fruit and chocolate. We also got a side of bacon. Yum. We also ordered two kinds of omelettes. We had the Denver omelette with ham, green peppers, inion, and cheese. Boy, that was delicious. Then, we also ordered the Bacado omelette that included bacon, tomato, avocado, and cheese. That was very good too. I thought the name was really clever. The omelettes came with hash browns that were really tasty. And, we got toast for our breakfasts as well. Service was great! Too busy for such a small space. It was good, but not amazing. We weren't asked if we wanted to refill on coffee until we were almost completely done with our food. Again, just too busy and not enough space so service was not amazing either. We just happen to be in that area so I don't know that it will be a frequent visit for us. I will say the bacon on my BLT was perfectly cooked for a sandwich which is hard to find. It's a good restaurant, just know going in that on a Sunday. You may not get great service. read more

Always enjoy eating here! We sat in a booth. For us that is good seating. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It gets busy on the weekends when the church crowd arrives. It's a great spot for eating and enjoying the company you're with. Lots of options to choose from. Brunch or breakfast, it's a good spot to eat. Also they have their own hot sauce that you can buy at checkout. It's really good! The food is always good. The ambiance is good if you have the patience to wait for the best table. I had a decent dining experience here today. My party totaled four, 2 adults and twins. We came around 12 noon and were seated immediately. We were served water while we looked over the menu. I ordered the New Yorker (potato pancakes topped with NY Pastrami, poached eggs, and Hollandaise sauce). My order came out pretty quickly, in about 8 minutes. My meal was average because the hollandaise sauce tasted like a mix of melted Cheese Whiz and American cheese, the pastrami wasn't the best either. I'm actually from NYC I know great pastrami, for the New Yorkers reading this think Katz Deli for example. Everyone else's meals were good to them however. My wife had the Hash Stack HASH STACK (Hash Browns topped with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, gravy and cheese) which came with cinnamon toast. I had a bite off it was pretty good. I would recommend this dish, because the different flavors come together in a scrumptious way. My kids had the Cowboy omelette (Bacon, ham, sausage, Monterey Jack cheese, and cheddar cheese) with two stacks of pancakes and the cinnamon French toast off of the kids menu. They both enjoyed their meals I had a bite of the Cowboy omelette and it was delicious but too salty and just perfectly cooked. I can see myself coming back here for brunch and I would recommend Scrambler Cafe, the service wasn't bad. I took my Daughter to breakfast this morning at 'The Scrambler Cafe' in Plano, TX (my Granddaughter - the Teenager - decided to 'sleep in'). We didn't have a reservation and the 'After Church Crowd' overflowed onto the patio. Still, it took less than 10-minutes for us to get seated. Kristen was our server and did an excellent job. She brought us water & coffee once we were seated, and took our orders. The food took about 10-minutes to arrive. There were generous portions, and everything was cooked to perfection. Both of these items were sooo tasty. The French Toast was well cooked and the berries added a nice pop of flavor. The Skillet was probably my favorite thing. The flavors melded so well together-it was the perfect tex mex dish! I added their house hot sauce on it and it became even more flavorful. One of our favorite breakfast places. They also serve lunch but we love breakfast so much we've rarely tried the lunch menu. These guys are one of the few places that 100% honor how you like your eggs, they know what sunny side up means and they do it - very very rarely has any egg of mine there been overcooked. The service is attentive and very friendly, they've clearly been selected for their service mindfulness. It's an easy place to go to, almost never had to wait (but after Church on Sundays gets busy sometimes, understandably), and the place is always spotless clean. The menu ranges from sweet to savory, and for the most part has what you'd normally find at any breakfast place, along with a few originals. They also offer their own hot sauce and salsa for sale. We tried the Traditional Breakfast and The Scrambler (scrambler). They were pretty good and had a lot of food for the money. Next time, I need to try the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes!
