Today I went to your diner for breakfast, and I am writing because I was seated at the counter but not waited on for approximately ~15 minutes while other guests who arrived after me received service. I have visited this location about four times and have previously had a positive experience. I like the seating layout, and as someone dining alone, I usually sit at the bar. The food has been consistent, and the service has usually been very good. Today, as usual, I was seated at the counter. After waiting without being acknowledged, I went to the hostess stand and explained that I had been waiting. She immediately took my order, and I returned to the bar. Shortly after that, another couple arrived and was seated. A waitress immediately brought water to them, this appeared to be the same waitress who had walked past me several times without acknowledging me. I was surprised and went back to the hostess stand to explain what had occurred. The hostess told me my order would be ready soon and asked whether I wanted to take it with me. I did not want to take it with me. I had planned to eat there before an appointment, but because of the delay, I no longer had time to eat. My question is simple: why wasn't I waited on? I would appreciate an explanation and acknowledgment from management about why I was ignored for approximately 10-15 minutes while other guests received service. read more

Bf and I visited for a Monday brunch. Immediately the atmosphere was lovely, dim and smelled pleasantly of coffee. I got an orange juice, but it was very clearly Minute Maid. I paid almost $5 for it -- the same amount of fresh squeezed at other places like Starwood or Pancake House. I would not get the orange juice again here. I got the Sundae Waffles and I overall enjoyed them. They're a sugar overload, but that's practically implied. My gripe was that the vanilla ice cream tasted odd and I actually pushed it aside. It didn't taste like vanilla at all. Bf got the Country Omelette and he enjoyed it. I had a taste and can vouch that the sausage gravy was very good and he got a very large amount for his buck. The atmosphere was bustling and there were plenty of tables and booths to seat everyone (although they could really replace their booths, they are cracking pretty bad). The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and everybody enjoyed their food. My Dad loved his Turkey Bacon & Eggs and said the pancakes were super fluffy. My Chicken & Waffles were crispy and well-seasoned. We would totally come back when visiting family in the Plano area. Eddie's Diner in Plano is an absolute gem. Hands down the best chicken fried steak I've ever had--perfectly seasoned, crispy, and tender. The biscuits are fantastic too, warm and fluffy just the way they should be. The meat lover's omelet was loaded and delicious, and while the hash browns weren't my favorite, everything else more than made up for it. In fact, the food was so good we ended up coming two days in a row. The customer service was outstanding both times. The staff was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. We went on a Sunday when it was understandably busy, and even then the wait was only about 20 minutes--not bad at all. We visited for the first time this week and it was an awesome first time! Miss Tammy was our server, and she was a rockstar lady! I got the steak and eggs with hash browns and pancakes. The steak really impressed me because it was cooked perfectly at medium rare (how I like it), and it was seasoned extremely well (not too salty or peppery.) Pancakes were delightful. Needed a nearby place for lunch after a medical procedure and saw Eddie's Diner. Our server was Diane who quickly brought us our drinks. Now for the hard part. Breakfast or lunch? The CFS Breakfast won and soon I was facing the biggest CFS that I've seen in awhile. It was not one of those puny Sysco specimens that so many restaurants try to pass off but a big hunk of tender beef with crispy batter served with two eggs, hash browns and pancakes. My wife ordered the Haystack skillet which in part had biscuits and gravy. She took a bite and ate no more. When I asked why she said taste them, which I did, and the biscuits and gravy tasted horrible to me. Family owned and operated place. Their health department inspection scores are consistently strong, especially compared to the competition. Always amazing service and food, plus you'll be happy to know they replaced all their booths within the last 6 months to a year, so seating is cozy as well. This is hands down the friendliest and most accommodating diner in the area. The employees seem genuinely happy to serve you in a friendly (but non-fake) atmosphere. If you haven't been, you must try it. Order whatever modifications you may like to any menu item, or just make a meal up in your head and I guarantee they will delight you with the result. My personal favorites are the chicken fried steak, with hash browns, 2 scrambled eggs, and 2 biscuits; as well as the double cheeseburger with fries. The delicious food, wonderful staff and personalities make this place a rarity in North Texas, especially Plano. Almost never a wait, but if so only a short one. The indoors of this restaurant is charming with numerous farmhouse signs, booths and plenty of tables for seating. Also, they were open on a holiday so bonus points for that!
