We happened to be in the area during an early lunch hour. We were looking for a brunch place, so South Fork was an ideal find. We ordered a couple of brunch items. I always go for my favorite: Eggs Benedicts. No exception this time. The poached eggs were fine. One of them was slightly open, which was fine though. The smoke salmon was great. I loved the portion size, which was more generous than I expected. We also got a corned beef reuben sandwich. The bread was nicely toasted. The portion size of beef was great. I ordered a tomato soup to go with it, but they brought me a tortilla soup instead. Not the best pairing, but it was fine. The tortilla soup tasted good. The decor of the place is casual and relaxing. There are lots of green plants hanging down from the wooden rafter ceiling. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. After passing this place many times , I stopped by hoping for a solid diner experience - and overall South Fork delivered what I was looking for, but with better ingredients, less gut-bomby food, and a cleaner, nicer environment. I will be back to try more items from the menu. I ordered the Murphys scramble as it was a bit different than I'm used to- eggs, hash browns, cheese, bacon, and sausage, - but with the addition of gravy. Food came out fast - The scramble (which is one of my favorite kinds of dish of any kind) was done well - eggs perfectly over easy, hash browns were the right amount of crispy, and the amounts of gravy and cheese were such that I didn't feel overwhelmed by either. I really liked the combination including the gravy, and despite the ingredients, it wasn't overly greasy. Other notes: - Server was super friendly, attentive, and gave good advice. - Sourdough toast and butter were solid. - Gravy was good, though I'd love a bit more sausage in it - take this with a grain of salt though, as my gravy bar is army sos (gravy with a hefty amount of beef over a heavy biscuit) which I bet not everyone would agree is the best gauge. - Coffee met my expectations I like to have a reliable go-to breakfast spot nearby, and this is surely a candidate. read more

I wasn't even planning to stop here. I was on my way to somewhere else when South Fork Cafe caught my eye and I'm so glad it did. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the nicest people: Matt, Angie, and Angie's sister (who used to work there). They genuinely talked about how much they love being there and how great the restaurant is, and honestly... they sold me. You can tell when people truly care about where they work, and it completely shows here. Even though I already had plans to eat somewhere else, I couldn't leave without grabbing a to-go menu and they talked me into trying the toasted caramel marshmallow iced latte (aka the s'mores latte) to go. Let me just say: that drink alone convinced me I need to come back. And can we talk about the presentation? Even in a to-go cup, they went the extra mile to make it absolutely beautiful. Came to try this out for a work lunch this week. We arrived close to 1, so the lunch crowd was pretty cleared out. Really cute indoor decor. Lots of greenery! The service was not prompt or diligent. She forgot who ordered what and that we had asked for a few things on the side. When it was time for the check--she took my card and asked me...do you want the tip at 20% or 22%? Odd. I said 20 because I was being put on the spot in front of the whole table and the other patrons. Tacky. Didn't love it. She brought back the receipt and everything was done. No signature required. Food--Reuben was tasty but needed 1000 island. Crinkle cut fries were perfect! Friends tried paninis. Not outstanding but good. We also ordered one Very Berry pancake to split. Tucked away is a sprawling center it's a little hard to find, but, WELL worth it!! The food and service were OUTSTANDING and my breakfast choice (biscuits & gravy - served with your choice of hash browns OR 2 eggs - for 11.99) provided a SUPER breakfast at a reasonable price. My wife tried the crepes and berries and was surprised at the size of the portion (three nice sized crepes) and wound up taking half of it home. The toppings were delicious. On the morning we dined (weekday around 10:30) the cafe was pretty much empty except for a table of 4 also enjoying a late breakfast. The establishment is clean and airy and our sole complaint was the way the table tops on the booths are installed. The tabletop was uncomfortably far away from both of us andwhen you are trying to eat, you're forced to lean farther forward than is normal. There are plenty of tables available and next time we will definitely use that option. Handicapped parking close when they are busy MIGHT be a problem, but with it being a shopping center there ARE plenty of spots available. read more

I was looking to have brunch in the area and came across this cafe that recently opened. The cafe is super cute, nicely decorated, and they've got a great selection of dishes and drinks on the menu. I tried their Parthenon Wrap with tomato and basil soup; both were so delicious. The grilled chicken was seasoned really well and had that charred flavor I love. The only thing I'd suggest is slicing the red onion a bit thinner. There were some big chunks in the wrap that I ended up taking out. Service was a little slow, but only because a bunch of customers walked in around the same time. The staff did check in with us and apologized for the delay, which I appreciated. We tried out South fork cafe in plano today to meet the twins for a Late brunch, and everyone was so happy with their choices. I went for the Very Berry Crepes and a side of grits. I'm the only grits fan in my family and these were good. Matt was our server and did a great job! So glad we found this place. They serve brunch all day and are open much later than anywhere else - 7pm on weekends, I believe. (New owners, so call for hours before you commit or trust what's on google or Apple Maps). Food was great - huge portions, delicious fluffy omelette, crispy bacon (as requested) perfectly poached eggs, crispy hashbrowns (as requested). Grits were too runny for my preference, but they even tasted good. Very dense pancakes. And they have Segaredo coffee - the best!! After a Medical test I was hungry so in neighborhood found this cafe. Omg it was around 11:30 weekday so lunch crowd started but breakfast till close. Had to try there hand battered chicken fried steak we did breakfast version as want scrambled eggs, extra crispy hashbrowns and a pancake. Starting with pancake it comes with 2 for the lightest fluffy buttery vanilla pancake so good no syrup needed but they bring you a warm maple syrup so had to have some. I will come back for syrup alone. Meal was cooked just as ordered crispy hashbrowns and fluffy fresh scrambled eggs none of those liquid eggs. The CFS was light crispy hand battered easy to cut steak soooo good. Coffee great. Friendly staff throughout our visit. When you first walk in to South Fork Cafe you will get a garden cafe kind of feel from the place. Tall ceilings give it a light and airy feel with wood beams on the ceiling creating an arbor for the flowering vines (plastic). There is a noise level in the place and a clanging of dishes in the kitchen though that detract from the serenity of the decor. When we first arrived we were told there would be a 45 minute to a one hour wait. Thankfully shortly after we were told that several people left all at once and we were seated in about 5 minutes. Our server Anokhi did a great job. She was extremely pleasant and shared her beautiful smile with everyone she encountered whether it be at her tables or the register. Great attitude and always moving to keep all her tables taken care of. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Panini. Essentially Buffalo hand-breaded tenders on focaccia bread with Swiss cheese. My side was French fries. While we were seated quickly, our order took considerably longer to get to us. When it did arrive though it was served fresh, hot, and was delicious! read more

The food was pretty good but the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. It wasn't very busy when we arrived so it really shouldn't have taken as long as it did to get our drinks and have our order taken, our waters never got filled even once and it took him so long between stops at our table to check in or take any orders or requests. My fiancee literally had to leave our table to go up front and ask our server to come take our order. The server also spilled food on my fiancée and didn't even apologize. It was our engagement brunch so I wanted it to be amazing but it just sort of wasn't amazing at all. The decor is nice, and the coffee was good. But other than that... I ordered the smoked turkey eggs benedict. The poached eggs are definitely the worst I've ever had. One of them was just a congealed lump of cooked egg whites somehow it was missing the yolk, and the other one was a mangled mess. The turkey was just cold lunch meat layered onto a slice of tomato, and the hollandaise sauce was watery. My daughter had a skillet and reported it was greasy and something tasted off and had to abandon it. I've been here once before and it was mediocre so perhaps this was just a bad day. But to have such a bad day is unforgiveable for a restaurant in my opinion. read more

Came in at a slow time on a Monday at about 12:30 pm and ordered a salmon eggs benedict. Two other tables had people. Yet, the servers actually forgot about me ‍ The food was ready and the person in the back rung the bell, but nobody served it to my table. For a while, I was actually questioning whether it was my food, but I noticed they were no longer cooking anything. I had to stand and ask if that was my plate. It was, indeed, my plate, and the food was no longer hot. Eggs were partially cold and hollandaise sauce had slightly congealed. Yikes! Hash browns were perfectly crispy though (though cool, of course) and the salmon was pretty tasty. I wonder what the service might be like if the cafe was more full... Food was not outstanding enough to justify poor service. Probably not coming back unless there was no other brunch area in the city (of which, there are many). read more

What a pleasant surprise this new breakfast/brunch place is! We visited and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. Our Triple Play consisting of 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage patties, and 2 slices of Cinnamon French toast was delicious and more than filling. Coffee was perfect. We were treated also with an unbelievably good Very Berry Crepe covered with mixed berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries)....all so yummy. Service was friendly and prompt. Stopped by this diner while in the shopping center I was visiting. The decor is awful with a lot of artificial flowers on the ceiling, railings etc. They looked to be dollar store quality. The 2 gentlemen there were dressed in black shirts/slacks but nothing that indicated that they worked there. Food was only meh, every dish that our table had tasted, well, tasteless. No spices, very bland. The skillets would do better with some green pepper or onion or anything to give it flavor. I think I am better off not spending any $$ on this establishment. read more
