I didn't taste the food but I went to see if I wanted to. I didn't notice any aroma of smoking or grilling going on so it made me side eye. The guy in the front was nice I really didn't interact. It smelled like a regular India restaurant wasn't expecting that. when I go to dickeys or Rudy I smell grilled smoking meat coals lit wood burning outside letting me know something is going on in the inside but not this place. The ambiance inside is very casual, but to be expected from a bbq place. We got the fry bread which was hard and needed a better knife to cut through. The meat on the fry bread was dry on the top, but the meat still tasted good. The pulled pork and sausage taco had good flavors, but nothing special. I first heard of Burnt from Yelp recommending it to me, but then I started hearing others tell me about how amazing Burnt was, so I couldn't wait any longer and went immediately. It was hard to find as the front of the building is partly covered by a tree and it simply says BURNT in black letters on the stucco. If you aren't looking for it you will miss it. The digital menus line the wall over the small register. They are very clear to read and understand and if you want something in-hand, they have paper folded menus on the counter to peruse too. I had come for the tacos and decided to try the Coffee Grind Brisket taco, Roasted Garlic Pulled Pork and the BG Pork Belly Burnt Ends taco. I got them all on corn tortillas & with no crema or cojita. Sometimes when I remove dairy options from an item it changes it entirely, but these tacos were still hefty portions (see image) and packed plenty of taste. The Burnt Ends taco was my favorite, my hubby who stole a few bites agreed. The Coffee Grind Brisket was too dry for my liking, but it was still good. I also added a small side of mac & cheese for my son, who loves all things mac & cheese. He really enjoyed it. I will absolutely be back and next time I am brining the whole family! read more

I dropped by for Wing Wednesday and treated myself to a dozen of their mouthwatering smoked and fried BBQ citrus wings and crispy fries for lunch, and the wings really stood out! The citrus rub gave them a unique flavor that I loved! Plus, they were served with a creamy avocado lime crema that took them to a whole new level. I also tried their coffee grind brisket. You can specify if you'd like a lean cut, fatty (moist) or a mixture of both. It was tender and went well with their BBQ sauce but didn't have the smoke flavor I had hoped for. Next time, I'll have to try the lean cut and see if that makes a difference. It's a relatively small restaurant, and they were somewhat busy so I ordered to go. The place is pretty cute and well reviewed so I stopped by. The cashier was super friendly. I generally felt welcomed and comfortable. The menu looked appetizing too. Unfortunately, I was pretty underwhelmed by the tacos. I had the brisket, burnt ends, pork, and chicken tacos. Maybe I came at an off peak time, but they were all pretty dry and way too sweet. Brisket is very flavorful and since I like moist, it checks that box as well. But it's super salty. I'm one who likes my Que without sauce. Wouldn't advise that here. I was hoping to discover a strip mall hidden gem but alas, Burnt was pretty average and what you would expect from a strip mall bbq joint. I'm assuming they don't actually smoke any of their meats since I don't know they even could have a smoker in this strip mall location. The brisket lacked flavor and even though I asked for the brisket to be moist, half of my slices were definitely on the leaner side. We ordered the $45 Burnt sampler platter which is 1/4lb of each: Coffee Grind Smoked Brisket, Roasted Garlic Pulled Pork, Pork Burnt Ends, Poblano Sausage, Citrus Brined Turkey, 3 St. Louis Style Ribs, 3 sides and they gave us plenty of extra sauce and extra Texas toast! This cute bbq joint was perfect, I got a two meat combo with a side of potato salad, and a tequeno. The brisket was juicy and tender. The ribs were tender, and had the perfect smoke, and the tequeño was like a Venezuelan mozzarella stick, but 10 times better. Maria was incredibly friendly and helpful. I love to see a BBQ restaurant with a unique spin; this spot has a solid Venezualan side to their menu and some Native American dishes as well. I ordered the Navajo Fry Bread Taco (topped with Brisket) and it was superb; the fry bread was a little more dense than others I've had, but a great flavor. And while I thought the price was a little high ($15), that changed when I saw how big it was and how delicious it tasted. I also ordered the Tequeno, which was a great example of that classic pastry with cheese. The sausage was tasty too. Friendly service from the guy running the counter, even though they were busy (which is usually a good sign). My food was made to order, so there's a little wait, but completely worth it. I ordered the brisket taco, elote corn and the brisket beans. The Brisket Taco 10/10 it had a great proportion of meat, the flavors together were chefs kiss I would definitely order again! Elote corn 5/10 it was okay past the top layer there wasn't as much flavor. Brisket beans 4/10 the barbecue sauce was supper overwhelming I couldn't really enjoy the beans b/c all I tasted was sauce. Locals and tourists alike flock and long line to order. Service was super quick and so friendly! This is some of the best bbq I've had. I drive from Arlington to eat here. The citrus rubbed ribs and turkey are very impressive. The burnt ends are nothing short of transcendent. The brisket is great, and the Chicharrones are to die for. A great twist is the Venezuelan influence from the owner's wife. Their cachapas are excellent. I haven't tried the arepas yet, but I do imagine I'll be impressed. I love the drinks. The service is great. Never had a problem. The dining area isn't large, but it's pleasant. read more

This is our ??? time visiting Burnt. As I've mentioned in a previous review I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but my fella is. So, as in any relationship ... give a little. I truly could eat BBQ here weekly. Fella gets his BBQ fix and get Tacos!! Garlic Pulled Pork delicious tacos!! Today I had the aforementioned tacos, pinto beans, PLUS a single Arepa. Every single bite delicious as Always! Fella got the lean brisket, smoked pablano pepper sausage, elotes corn and French fries. We keep expecting to be disappointed at some point, but we never are! Every single thing is DELICIOUS! Did I say ... EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Consistent. Fabulous food! The place is small, with only 5 or 6 tables; but every single bite of food is made with love you can taste! The staff is fantastic with all the recommendations and their own favorites (if you ask). This Burnt Sampler was told it would feed 3-5 people, if lucky it'll feed 2.5 people. The sides, 3 of them, are big enough for nowhere near 3-5 people maybe if people only want a bite. The sample size of meat is great, but it's a tease leaving you wanting more. This sampler should be under appetizer and is an embarrassment to say it feeds 3-5 people. It feeds children, not full on grown ups. Saying I'm disappointed is an understatement. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the brisket mac. Portions are HUGE. Split it with fam and they loved it too. We also got the potato salad which was just alright. But rich with a lot of fresh and yummy ingredients if you are a potato salad lover. On a whim tried the sopapilla cheesecake and just WOW! Decadence all around. Instead I found a normal nothing extraordinary bbq joint that has some unique taco creations. The meat itself was ok. Nothing to write home about. The menu itself reads really well with all the seasonings they but once it's served none of that seasoning stands out. The sides read well as well but again nothing stood out from anyone else. Nice little family owned BBQ spot with a twist! It was hit and miss for me. BBQ with Spanish flair! The pork belly taco was my favorite, with a good blend of lime acidity along side the perfectly cooked pork belly. The sliced brisket I received was too dry for my taste, but the chopped brisket in the Navajo Fried Bread was moist and flavorful. This is my favorite bbq in Plano. Their menu has recently expanded. I've always liked their brisket, ribs, Burnt ends, but haven't true the pulled pork or sausage. First, Mohammad was the employee working the register and the 6 table restaurant and he was super personable and helpful (and honest..he explained what were his favorite items and why) Second, the food was delicious! I had a brisket arepa and the brisket queso fries and would definitely get both again. My husband got a Pork Belly Burnt End taco and a Chicken taco. He loved both but said the burnt end one was to die for. BBQ sauces and rubs are homemade (and sold there) and the meats are marinated then cooked overnight at the restaurant.
