I didn't taste the food but I went to see if I wanted to. I didn't notice any aroma of smoking or grilling going on so it made me side eye. The guy in the front was nice I really didn't interact. It smelled like a regular India restaurant wasn't expecting that. when I go to dickeys or Rudy I smell grilled smoking meat coals lit wood burning outside letting me know something is going on in the inside but not this place. The meat on the fry bread was dry on the top, but the meat still tasted good. The pulled pork and sausage taco had good flavors, but nothing special. I first heard of Burnt from Yelp recommending it to me, but then I started hearing others tell me about how amazing Burnt was, so I couldn't wait any longer and went immediately. It was hard to find as the front of the building is partly covered by a tree and it simply says BURNT in black letters on the stucco. If you aren't looking for it you will miss it. The digital menus line the wall over the small register. They are very clear to read and understand and if you want something in-hand, they have paper folded menus on the counter to peruse too. I had come for the tacos and decided to try the Coffee Grind Brisket taco, Roasted Garlic Pulled Pork and the BG Pork Belly Burnt Ends taco. I got them all on corn tortillas & with no crema or cojita. Sometimes when I remove dairy options from an item it changes it entirely, but these tacos were still hefty portions (see image) and packed plenty of taste. The Burnt Ends taco was my favorite, my hubby who stole a few bites agreed. The Coffee Grind Brisket was too dry for my liking, but it was still good. The citrus rub gave them a unique flavor that I loved! Plus, they were served with a creamy avocado lime crema that took them to a whole new level. I also tried their coffee grind brisket. You can specify if you'd like a lean cut, fatty (moist) or a mixture of both. It was tender and went well with their BBQ sauce but didn't have the smoke flavor I had hoped for. I was hoping to discover a strip mall hidden gem but alas, Burnt was pretty average and what you would expect from a strip mall bbq joint. I'm assuming they don't actually smoke any of their meats since I don't know they even could have a smoker in this strip mall location. This cute bbq joint was perfect, I got a two meat combo with a side of potato salad, and a tequeno. The brisket was juicy and tender. The ribs were tender, and had the perfect smoke, and the tequeño was like a Venezuelan mozzarella stick, but 10 times better. Maria was incredibly friendly and helpful. I love to see a BBQ restaurant with a unique spin; this spot has a solid Venezualan side to their menu and some Native American dishes as well. I ordered the Navajo Fry Bread Taco (topped with Brisket) and it was superb; the fry bread was a little more dense than others I've had, but a great flavor. And while I thought the price was a little high ($15), that changed when I saw how big it was and how delicious it tasted. I also ordered the Tequeno, which was a great example of that classic pastry with cheese. The sausage was tasty too. This is some of the best bbq I've had. I drive from Arlington to eat here. The citrus rubbed ribs and turkey are very impressive. The burnt ends are nothing short of transcendent. The brisket is great, and the Chicharrones are to die for. A great twist is the Venezuelan influence from the owner's wife. Their cachapas are excellent. Did I say ... EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Consistent. Fabulous food! The place is small, with only 5 or 6 tables; but every single bite of food is made with love you can taste! Found this place randomly so didn't really know what to expect. I figured it would be something like Hurtados since it read bbq and tacos. Instead I found a normal nothing extraordinary bbq joint that has some unique taco creations. The meat itself was ok. Nothing to write home about. The menu itself reads really well with all the seasonings they but once it's served none of that seasoning stands out. The sides read well as well but again nothing stood out from anyone else.
