I have heard good things about La Salsa Verde and they happen to have a $1 taco Tuesday deal on select meats. I got 4 tacos each of Al pastor and carnitas from the taco Tuesday deal. I also got a chicharron taco and a suadero taco à la carte, as well as a pina agua Fresca. It was packed inside, I had to sit at the high table seating at the window. They have 4 kinds of salsas here. My favorite was probably the green creamy one. That one was probably the most spicy one too. They also have a smoky salsa as well. The Al pastor is different from others I've had, I actually liked the carnitas a lottttt more. They don't hold back on the amount of fat they give you in the meat. The suadero was very good as well. Wow this place is legit! The food is so good and authentic. I have been looking for tacos like this being new to the area. Some standouts are the pastor. The quesa birria was good but I did find the beef itself a bit tough. Otherwise the flavor and taste are good and the consommé was one of the better ones I've had. It even comes with some pieces of meat and chickpeas which is nice. I definitely want to go back and try more things. I was really looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews, but honestly I was a little disappointed. My carne asada tacos had great flavor but they were absolutely dripping and drowning in orange grease...and I DO mean dripping. My friend and I both got it all over our clothes and was really gross. Maybe they were just having an off night? Anyway the place was packed at 10:30pm on a weekday so they must be doing something right.
