Maybe it was an off day, but our food was very disappointing. We ordered 2 carnitas tortas, a scrambled egg breakfast plate, and 3 breakfast tacos. The scrambled egg plate was not put in the bag, when I checked the digital receipt at home it was labeled "out of stock" but the restaurant didn't offer this information when I was picking up. I don't know if the tortas were an entirely different kind of sandwich but I can tell you there was zero meat, it was all fat(?) on both tortas. The fries that came with them were cold and looked like they were from yesterday. The bread and avocado was still good and at least we got three egg and potato tacos. read more

I ordered my daughter's birthday dinner online, so we could try a new place. I picked up the bag of food, which was knotted and tied very tightly. I was told they had no queso. I said that's fine, I need my money back. I was given exactly $5.95 in cash. Taxes are a real thing, but I didn't complain. I left and opened the bag at home. Big mistake. As you can see in the picture, a variety of tacos were ordered. Please see the next picture where all of the tacos looked the exact same. I have no idea what this is. I immediately took the tacos back to the restaurant and they just happened to have locked their doors by 7:30pm. No one answered the phone or the door. The hours posted show 10pm closing and the Open sign was still flashing. This is extremely frustrating and ruined our dinner plans. The customer's phone number is visible on the order, and all they had to do was reach out if there was an issue. I did request a refund through Zing, so we will see what happens. 0/10 experience. read more

I'm not going to lie, the tacos I ordered were so good, and I ordered from them two weekends in a row as did my coworkers. The BIGGEST and in my opinion most important complaint I have is both weekend days I ordered queso and that order was deleted because "out of stock". Cool cool the first time it happened, I was ordering early, so maybe they hadn't had time to make it, that's fair. The next weekend I ordered later, and the same thing happened with the queso. When I think about the place, my first thought is "I'd go back". I'm a fan of their green sauce. It's like Frank's; I put that sh*t on everything. It's hot but still tastes like green sauce. The taco meat is flavorful and they aren't cheap on the meat. All the tacos were loaded and I couldn't pick a favorite. We've been a few times now and the quality has remained the same. Whether is Tuesday or Friday, you're getting a quality taco here. It's an easy place to go for pick up. We haven't eaten inside yet but look forward to order from here again. We order the chips this time and they are fresh made. So good. The queso doesn't match the quality of the chips; it's a little bland but you know how to fix that?! They did not lead us astray. We ordered the 3 taco lunch plate. A great price for 3 tacos, beans and rice, plus salsa. The best salsa, hands down, is the verde. Spicy and flavorful, but not a meal ender. For our tacos, we went with barbacoa, pastor and bistec. All were delicious, not overly fatty and flavorful. The tacos were packed with plenty of meat, so you got a great value for the money spent. Bottom line: Would I eat here again? YES. Am I saying all of this only because this is one of the only real street taco places west of 75? NO. Should you stop in? YES. read more

I randomly found this incredible taco restaurant when I needed tacos. It's in a quiet plaza next to a bubble tea cafe in Plano. It's very quiet but they've been opened for decades. The menu is simple. They serve breakfast - dinner which is convenient. The first time I came here I ordered 10 tacos to go. It ended up being $1 per taco which was a good deal. The prices are very inexpensive which is why I love this place even more. I tried the chicken and the barbacoa tacos and when I tell you that this is the best taco restaurant in Plano that's an understatement. The food is DELICIOUS! The barbacoa was seasoned so well. It wasn't greasy but very meaty and delicious. They came with green and red salsa which were both very spicy but its good. I ended up coming here twice in one week because it was so good! I also got the rice and beans which are incredible as well! Everyone who works here is extremely kind and friendly. If you speak Spanish, that's a bonus as well! Not exactly what I was hoping for. I ordered a Torta , I wanted it made with asada , It was fajita but not chopped up like I'm use to. Very little avocado on it , there may have been two slivers on each half. Ordered chips with queso. The yellow queso was very good. The freq should fried tortilla chips ...not so much. They make churros here, our chips had a sweet flavor and tasted like the churros like they fried them in the same oil‍ I don't think I will being visiting here again. read more

A hidden gem in plank with the best street tacos! I ordered my usual chicken tacos on corn tortilla. They have THE BEST red sauce and the most seasoned sautéed onions I've had at a taco shop. I always order extra sautéed onions. They don't take too long but they've never been super quick cause everything made fresh. They're always so nice. It's never been glamorous on the inside: it's a taco shop? It's a few tables & you can sit down and eat. But you will always see some construction trucks or worker trucks in the lot cause this is where the real Hispanics go for authentic food tacos. SO GOOOD. Chicken tacos are to die for, as are the barbacoa! Get them on corn tortilla of course. They were tender and flavorful and cooked to perfection. The verde sauce is MOUTHWATERING- I wanted more more more. The red sauce is fire and it stings so use with caution. I liked their horchata so much. Best I've had in a long time. Service is basic and straight up. Order at the counter and wait your turn. One downside for me was the side of beans I ordered. Dumped them out after a few bites. They were weird soupy charro beans whereas the menu called them refried beans. I don't care for charro! read more

Plano may be the underrated gem for all things eats in the DFW. Our father always raised us with the notion that if you spot locals in a hole-in-the-wall establishment, the food must be good. We treated our parents here for Taco Tuesday. I'm not sure how authentic a bar this is, but we usually rate tex-mex places by their tacos al pastor. Love this place!! It's a cute little while in the wall joint with authentic food, great customer service, and nice little atmosphere. I got the chicken torta today. It was a little salty, but that's personal preference. The green sauce is amazing! So delicious on everything! The red salsa is spicy AF so be warned if you eat it! The churros are delicious! I definitely recommend eating them while they're hot and fresh! We've never had a bad experience here and if we have a complaint, it's taken care of immediately. I ordered 1/2 chicken quesadilla and a veggie taco on the Yelp app. I am staying in the hospital across the street to help with my mom. Went to pick up the order and the lady at the counter doesn't speak ANY English. She couldn't find the order and wanted me to pay again. Finally thru using google to translate, she got that I had already paid. Not sure how to review the food because it was cold by the time I got back and I was not a happy camper.. lol I will say it might have been good. Veggie taco was French fries and peppers. Chicken quesadilla was shredded chicken and pretty greasy, not good cold. I threw it out. Make sure you have a lot of time, took over 30 minutes to get my order and I was the only one there. Tacos are decent. The enchiladas are NOT. I ordered one chicken and one beef and it was cold by the time I got it to the car. Taste was off. I ate one bite of each and tossed it. Food - 5 Service - 4 Value - 5 With so many places opening up in the past couple of years doing Mexican street tacos, it is hard for one place to set itself apart from another at time. However, Taquerias Cervantez is one place where we'll be back. We ordered a few of their specialty tacos a few weeks ago for dinner and the tacos were fresh and to our liking -- never having had a street taco in Mexico, I have no idea how authentic this place is though. One thing to point out, the Yelp hours for Sunday are incorrect (Yelp currently shows Sunday hours from 10 AM to 10 PM), but it turns out they close at 3 PM on Sundays -- but they have no signage to indicate that, and if you call them there is no voice recording either (it just keeps ringing forever). read more

Found this place while grabbing takeout from Marco's Filipino restaurant for lunch. Torta steak fajita 5* generous meat portions, delicious Queso and chips- 3* it seemed watered down but add the green sauce and its good I didn't take photos of my meal but I remembered the taste and it was good. Delicious and will return. OMG, nevermind, just found photo! Barbacoa quesadilla- 4* not beef cheek but tasted similar to corned beef(?) So I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend! I ordered 2 three taco plates. One plate was for all three bisteak tacos. The other plate was for Two chicken tacos and one bisteak. They sent both plates of 3 bisteak tacos instead. However, they were good. The rice portion was too small, the beans were too much for the amount of rice. They should invert the rice side with the bean side. They were "aight". This place has gone downhill. The food is good; that's not the problem, though all I've had are simple taco plates and so can't speak for anything else. The customer experience IS a problem, because a) it's 105 degrees today and they won't crank up the A/C, just to save a little money; it was at least 85 in there, just now, at 2pm; b) we must not only eat off plastic forks/spoons, but they buy the cheapest ones they can find, those little ones designed for elementary school kids' hands; c) they have this absurd little ice machine that is not nearly adequate for a Texas restaurant in summer. This would all be normal if it was a restaurant actually in Mexico, but d) they are here, and not cheap, charging full American prices for everything. When I asked the kid behind the counter if I could speak to the owner/manager, he said he only comes in early (to open) and late at night (to count the money, of course). So what we have here is an absentee owner who clearly couldn't care less about the customers' experience eating there, but only about squeezing the maximum profit from each sale. We've all seen this before, and it's always the beginning of the end for any business, but especially a restaurant. So, if you eat here, get it to go and eat it at home, and you won't have to deal with any of this. As I said, the food is good. read more

Taquiria Cervantes is just shy of having full 5-stars for me. Their street-style tacos, loaded specialty tacos, and chips an salsa can satisfy the hungriest (and pickiest) of appetites. As per my norm, I go for the lengua and tripa tacos - the lengua is melt in your mouth tender, while the tripa is wonderfully crisp, without being overly oil. Both served on a double corn tortilla that has great texture, chew, and doesn't easily fall apart in you like some of the other tortillas around. We also ordered several specialty tacos, but the #5 was a favorite. The chips and amazing salsa is a nice addition, if you're looking for something a little extra, but the home-made avocado salsa is by far the best I've had... highly addicting! If they served a nice elotes and home-made aguas frescas, that would take them to the top, imo. All in all, great food and great service! read more

Looking for breakfast tacos around 11 am. After a couple of stops where "they were out", we ended up here. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The potato and egg breakfast tacos were great. We got 2 kinds of salsas--we liked the hotter one. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is they didn't have much choices for vegetarians. Tried this place out this evening. Trying to be as nice as I possibly can, but this was really awful. We ordered the quesadilla, the Eloté taco I ordered nave came. The beans (definitely Walmart brand canned pinto beans). Not even quite sure what form of meat were in my tacos.... The rice clearly was made with too much water, was puffy and tasted like tomato paste. They melted a cheese square on one of my tacos and that was probably the strangest thing I've ever seen. Husband didn't enjoy his meal at all. Still full on his plate. Salsa is hot as heck, bitter as heck too. I'm honestly unsure how anyone previously wrote a decent review. I don't even know what culture/ethnicity and/or background of food this was? Like what is the chef aiming for? I'm so incredibly confused about what I just ate. I do know that even Taco Bell would have sufficed.. I'm so disappointed, hungry and just want my money back. Maybe it's out of control inflation, but this place seems pretty expensive for what you get and was super slow. There was only one couple in front of me when I arrived and they already had ordered. Still took 20 minutes for a couple tacos. Food was just ok. Store bought tortillas are ok. Really couldn't identify the sausage or potato in my burrito. Green sauce was spicy, but pretty good.
