Being new to Melissa I wanted to try a new Chinese food place instead of driving down all the way to my regular place, before this incident, I had came here twice and got the same thing both times, shrimp fried rice no veggies and shrimp lo mein no veggies. The third time was no different, I got the same thing, placed the order, paid for it, and went home to eat. Unfortunately while eating, my sister's kids meal fried rice had a hair in it. Right after finding it I called the store and told them that I found it, the lady who answered was super nice and apologized for the mistake, she told us that we could come in and get our order remade. Both orders. We went in today, a day after, and let the guy and lady know that we were coming in for our remake order. They found it odd but started to make out order, as we were patiently waiting the guy comes up to us and claims he made the order right, and that it was our fault for making the order confusing, he said and I quote "check it next time." Having your own business is risky enough and telling someone that, 2 young girls to be exact, is incredibly unprofessional and rude. This place serves Chinese, sushi, and Thai food all in one spot. The Thai dishes are actually pretty good, but they're cooked more in a Chinese style, so some of them come out a little greasy. The sushi tastes fine, but it doesn't seem to be their main focus -- not many people around us were ordering it. It's a convenient location, especially since there's not much else nearby, and the food tastes good for the area. But if you head down to Plano or Garland, you'll find better options. read more

So, so bland. Thai food is meant to have spice to it, especially when you order something that is SPICY. I ordered the Tiger Cry to go and the "traditional Thai hot sauce" is sweet. The steak is seasoned so poorly I just dumped salt on it to make it enjoyable. I was also given my order sideways so when I opened my bag all the food was pushed to one side. All in all, my husband likes their sushi. But for the price point (this was $20!!!!) and the taste this is not worth it. read more

The food is fixed fresh and comes steaming hot. The chicken and shrimp fried rice came with full servings of meat on top of delicious rice. The much special of two rolls and Miso soup was delicious. This is an updated review to this place. Initially I gave this place 4 stars because of my first experience being here for lunch on and them being new. Since then I've been back about 5 or 6 times. It's literally the only ethnic food option in Melissa so far and those times I didn't want to drive for good Asian food. The place is clean, staff is nice. Menu seems fairly large.... Quality of food is normal to most "fast food Asian spots". Price point is very high, especially for the stir fry dishes and the portions are super small vs price and full of "filler" vs the meat. Example, my husband ordered the steak filet hibachi. Doesn't taste like filet and literally there are only a few pieces of the meat with tons of vegetables for an almost $30 entree. Sushi is not the best quality. Really had high hopes for this place; but it's just not that great. But this is only my experience here; I don't like giving bad reviews. read more

What? A really good Thai & Sushi eatery in my neighborhood!? Yes Our family (all adults now) went there together. Since we all have different food sensitivities, including need for gluten-free foods, we were impressed with their careful attention to detail, and how the person preparing the food was willing to come to our table to confirm things were correctly prepared too I asked for "seafood" as the protein for both my orders, and WOW! I got pretty high quality combination of seafood items in both dishes, including shrimp, which was perfectly cooked, All the food was delicious; and everyone enjoyed their meal, each of us commenting on how well-prepared our dishes were. Wish I had pictures to post, but we forgot to take some pix, which shows just how delicious everything was to us. The only thing they could do better on were the Thai drinks. In the Thai milk drink there was too much powdery sentiment in the bottom. One person ordered a Boba Tea, but got something else instead. My recommendation to the restaurant owners is to change the person who takes drink orders, as I believe she couldn't understand our English well--perhaps we have an accent as Texans However, we didn't even say anything or complain simply because the young lady who took our drink orders, prepared them, and brought them to the table was so sweet and caring! It seemed like a small issue bcuz we enjoyed her spirit of gentleness and kindness. We're going back later this week, and hope to meet the same amazing people there again. It is a family-run business. The couple there have 2 boys, very cute, and so well-behaved too! The kids were never allowed to just run around inside or use loud voices. The brothers seem like 'best friends', always helping each other and playing together. They often smiled at us, too. Those parents must be very attentive! Everything was so super bland, the worst dish we got tonight was the pad Thai. It tastes like water, oil and lemons and for some reason it was spicy. Sadly this place will not last. Would I go back? Pad Thai to spicy, fried rice was just that, very bland. Pad Sew is fast food type and could have made it at home better. If you want fast food Thai food this is your place. If you want quality Thai, drive the extra 7 minutes to Pho's Bistro. Way overpriced for the food quality you get. read more

I have ordered sushi for pick up several times and dined in a few as well. The sushi is fresh tasting, maybe not the best I've had but fairly good quality. The service is somewhat like a fast food restaurant, as in that there is a drink fountain machine. The lady will bring you your food most of the time though. The out of controls roll and the monster roll are good and always my children's go to's. My husband tried a meat dish once and the portion size was good and he enjoyed it. I've tried the onion soup and it was very bland with just a few pieces of green onion in it. I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting. The prices are a bit high especially considering on the out of control wrong the rules itself are kind of on the small side. The service is friendly and overall I am happy that they are they're seeing as there's no other options for sushi in the area. read more

I will likely continue to go here on occasion when I need something quick for lunch since it is close to my house. I can only get it to-go, though. The atmosphere inside is not relaxing for a meal. The music is always way too loud. There are children running around the dining area (and in the kitchen). They added claw machines for toys. I'm all for extra revenue streams, but it definitely cheapens the atmosphere. As for the food, I've tried a few different items. All were okay, nothing spectacular. I travel all over the country for my work and often dine at similar places. I find that the best establishments have a specialty and don't try to offer too much. This one definitely is a Jack of all trades, master of none. I do feel the prices are high for the offerings, but I don't complain about pricing. They know what they need to be profitable, and I will not fault that. Overall it is worth trying, but just keep realistic expectations. You will not be over or underwhelmed. read more

I was so super excited to try after reading comments about it on our neighborhood Facebook page when I should've looked at Yelp instead. Soooooo bland. Got the pangnan chicken curry - bland. Daughter got Japanese chicken fried rice, she said it was ok but wouldn't want it again (that was after adding a ton of soy sauce). Hubs got the California roll - he said the rolls at Sam's were far better. The dumplings were probably the best thing we got but that's really not saying much. Lau Ba Thai was such a disappointment following so much anticipation for the grand opening. Tried the Shrimp Tempura, Panang Curry, and Drunken Noodles. Extremely poor value for what this place is charging. Small portions and the quality of food was similar to what you find at cheap (under $15) AYCE places around DFW. In my opinion, this is likely the result of an overambitous menu that attempts to offer a wide range of cuisines in an underserved area. The Yelp reviews to date speak for themselves. I hope management takes note and makes changes before this place disappears as one of the only Asian cuisine options we have in a developing neighborhood. With several better alternatives just a short drive down HWY 75, it will be some time before we consider giving this place another try. read more
