When we were seated the waitress spilled water all over me causing me to leave and spend 40$ on clothes when i returned the waiter had nothing to say other than snarky comments "did you cry" "you took a while coming back" just ridiculous when we received our checks we still tipped despite the service but the waiter demanded that we tip more saying that it was okay we didn't since we're "young" and "didn't know better" if i wanted to eat at a water park i would've. my pants are still wet! read more

We recently visited Kimiya when we were in Dallas visiting friends. I love an AYCE sushi place and the ambiance here is very nice. We came for lunch and since it's a new restaurant, it is very clean with modern decor. The service is very friendly and even though we had a large party, the server was very accommodating. He made sure we got separate checks, all the right foods, and checked in on us often. I know it was probably very stressful and he handled us with grace. I wish I was more hungry to enjoy the food. I liked that the AYCE had a large variety from rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and even hot foods. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the McKinney area and bring a bigger appetite! read more

Marvin was our server today and he was good. We asked for a lot of stuff and he was in top of it. We opted to not do all-you-can-eat and ordered a hibachi fried rice side to share, $4.95....it is the best fried rice we have eaten in years! Shared the fried rock shrimp. That rock shrimp sauce is delicious. It's like yum yum sauce on steroids. We got a firecracker roll and iechiban roll. They were okay, but would probably not order them again. The rolls didn't come with wasabi or ginger. We didn't request it when we noticed. Didn't wanna send Marvin on another quest as he had his hands full being double sat. The restaurant looks great after the renovation post Dennys. If you opt for all-you-can-eat, it's $36 per person. read more

This is an AYCE sushi place but the flavors of all the sushi is really not that good! The rice is too mushy! The service was ok, they don't really come back to check on you often! The shrimp tempura we had was just ok because it didn't have the typical batter, I like the batter that they had for the vegetable tempura better! And the combination udon was good, had plenty of flavor! I don't think it's worth the money for just eating the two items! The chicken teriyaki was really dry, that's probably why they put all that sauce on top, it didn't help at all! They have a 20% off now until December 22, 2025 for the grand opening! read more

Delicious!!! Prices are fantastic and authentic atmosphere . It's small but probably one of the best sushi restaurants we have ever visited.

I ordered the ramen (pork) and it definitely did not disappoint. Loads of flavor and the broth was rich. I don't have the sushi, but I will say that what I saw coming from the sushi counter looked amazing. I arrived around 1:15 on a Wednesday so it was definitely after the main lunch rush. Still, there was a fair amount of people in the restaurant. The staff was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I'm positively coming back - would like to try the katsu and the sushi. I didn't recall seeing curry but it would be heaven if they had it. The setting was quite nice - modern, clean, spacious. The music at the time was pop, a little on the louder side, but I could have still had a conversation without yelling. Truly a good place for ramen, can't wait to see what else is amazing. read more

We finally got a chance to try this place. Bottom line...excellent! The decor is nice and tasteful - it doesn't look like a recycled Denny's. We went for an early dinner on a Friday, so it wasn't crowded and we were seated and served promptly. The menu is a little confusing as they have an "All You Can Eat" option of limited selections, or you can order off the menu. We tried several things....the crab puffs, shumai (shrimp dumplings), the Firecracker Roll, and Hibachi steak & shrimp. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Hibachi meals are plentiful with lotsa of veggies and white rice (or fried for an up charge). The meals also included soup or salad. One note....on the AYCE option, they warn you that they will charge you ala carte prices if you waste a lot of food so order what you want but eat what you take. AYCE has another limitation.....it's all you can eat, within a 90 minute time limit! Anyway, it was a great dining experience and we will be back soon. read more

I've visited Kimiya three times, each and every single time I've been completely satisfied with their sushi and hibachi. The first time I did the all you can eat and was able to sample a lot of different sushi rolls and also the rice and hibachi as their dessert, it was an experience. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered. The eggrolls are small, but tasty. The dumplings. I wouldn't order them again. They were not bad, but also not memorable. I will stick with the egg rolls. My favorites are the salmon, avocado roll, dragon roll, and their steak hibachi is actually very good quality, tender, and flavorful. The service is also on point, and their music! love. Tried Kimiya on 2 different days and 2 different meal periods. First was for dinner and all the sushi tasted fresh. Dinner has more selections and the place was busy on a Saturday night. Totally worth the price around $35 per person. There was a point they forgot our food so it took longer than normal. Overall dinner was a hit. Lunch price is about $24 per person and the lunch menu had less items. Some of our favorites were not on there but that was expected for a lunch version. All the sushi was great except the Tuna (Maguro). We finished with that and it left a foul taste in our mouths. It was not a pleasant way to finish lunch. So lunch disappointed in the end but dinner was a hit. Only plan on going back for dinner minus the raw Tuna. read more

We loved it! We used to go to Sushi Masa for our AYCE cravings. Then we started going to Yuhe down the street from Kimiya then finally we tried Kimiya today. Everyone who works there was great especially the host and our server. Food tasted very fresh. Me and the kids loved the sashimi, habachi steak, galbi short ribs, and shrimp fried rice. When my wife joined us she ordered a few rolls but her favorite was the kiss of fire roll. Overall the restaurant was clean and its very spacious. Glad to have them in McKinney as an AYCE sushi option and I'd have to say their habachi is better than shogun across the street as well. read more

She spilled water on accident on my friends lap and we didn't mind but my buddy had to leave real quick to get something dry to wear and payed 40 bucks for some shorts at Ross just so he didn't have to feel like he was at hurricane Harbor while eating sushi and then she she charged us a extra drink we didn't order and was making passive aggressive jokes towards my friend that got water spilt on him. And when we got the checks and left a fair tip for her service she came back before we left and DEMANDED US to give her a bigger tip. So we left a bigger tip but we're never coming here again. Really nice to have a local AYCE spot. Food was good, not great. Still a great value. They are offering a grand opening special for a few weeks which is great to get everyone to try them. I didn't give 5 stars because although the service was friendly, we kept waiting for him to come back so that we could order more. Was he on break? Anyhow, going on taste alone, I prefer our other spot in Frisco. They don't have ponzu but they offer a similar sauce that's good. The AYCE has a very large selection and unlimited sashimi. The sashimi came displayed very nicely and the cuts were thick and fresh. The other rolls weren't as good to me. Many dessert options and other things like ramen, hibachi, appetizers, katsu, and a selection of tempura things. Service was the slowest we've ever had and we are here on a Tuesday and it's is not crowded. I can't even imagine how they will manage on a weekend. There were many 10-15 min gaps between food coming out despite ordering everything at once. read more

Great new all you can eat spot in mckinney. This used to be the Dennys in the Home Depot parking lot. The owners did a good job remodeling the interior. Originally went here to try the sushi but spent most of the time eating the korean galbi short rib appetizer. Its like getting the best of kbbq without having to smell like bbq meat. Also the ayce menu offers ramen, hibachi, noodles, desserts and a bunch of other options. The server Jinny was also very attentive. Went here for lunch with a group yesterday and had such a great experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the cherry blossom tree at the front is such a stunning touch. There were so many options on the menu, and everything was plated beautifully. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the desserts were honestly insanely good. We also had an amazing server, I believe her name was Design, and she truly made the experience even better. She was nice, helpful, funny, and just overall wonderful. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I'll absolutely be coming back and recommending this place to others. read more

Went here on a date night with hubby and we both really enjoyed it! It's in the old Dennys, so lots of seating but nicely remodeled- except the bathrooms. They have sushi, ramen, hibachi and a few other options. We both opted for all you can eat, which is $35 for dinner and includes several appetizers, sushi/sashimi, basic rolls, a LOT of chefs socials roll, ramen, rice & noodles & limited hibachi. We got tuna tartar which was really yummy, and the bbq short ribs which were fatty but had a great flavor. The appetizers are small so you don't have to worry about filling up on those. Next I got several pieces of sushi, which were all really tasty, especially the salmon. Next time I'll probably fill up on salmon, it was so delicious! Hubby got steak hibachi and to me his steak was a little dry but he enjoyed it, and shrimp fried rice which he ate every last bite of. We also got a fire island roll, which was yummy and spicy! And a butterfly kiss roll. I liked that the rolls weren't huge servings, bc supposedly they charge you for excessive leftovers. The rolls weren't the best I've ever had but not the worst. I wish I could've tried others. I also got ramen, I asked our server Design about the portion and she said don't worry just get it bc I don't want you to miss out on it. I got a shoyu ramen, and it was just ok to me....I didn't find it to be very flavorful. I ordered green tea ice cream but they were out but somehow they had tempura green tea ice cream so I got that and just ate the inside. It was nice and the outside fried part tasted just like the state fair. Our service was really good and l definitely felt like I ate $35 worth. Hubby was SO full! Oh and his favorite part of the experience was the 90s R&B playing on the radio! I liked that you order rather than going through a buffet & that everything was made fresh. Wow, this experience was great, from the delightful cherry blossom tree at the entrance to the beautiful lighting and comfy seating in the booths. Our server Nate was fantastic, patient in explaining how the menu works, and then helping with recommendations based on what we like. My partner had Chicken Teriyaki and was very happy with the modifications she asked for, including her choice of veggies. The fried rice came with little salt, which she really appreciated, I had the All You Can Eat, something I don't usually do, and was very happy with the freshness of all the sashimi, just about everything they had on the menu even tho one piece of each.
