The Lexus is modern; the sales experience hasn't kept pace with Servco's Hawaiʻi legacy. Servco Lexus Honolulu represents a storied local institution and an excellent product, but my family's experience in February 2026 suggests a sales operation that has not evolved with modern expectations; particularly around responsiveness, flexibility, and visible aloha. Key takeaways for future buyers: - Servco uses fixed option bundles, not fully custom Lexus factory orders - This approach may work well for buyers who want simplicity, but less so for informed buyers with specific preferences - Responsiveness and engagement vary by consultant and management involvement - Lexus product quality remains excellent; the sales experience is inconsistent A legacy dealership still needs active leadership and follow-through to fully reflect Hawaiʻi values. --- For context, I'm a late-40s military veteran, married with two kids, and very familiar with the Lexus lineup. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted to order: a 2026 Lexus IS350 F Sport, with specific packages and options researched ahead of time on both the Lexus USA and Servco Lexus websites. I also read customer reviews prior to visiting. One detail I appreciated immediately was seeing sales consultants listed alphabetically by first name online. It gave the impression of a deliberate, fair management culture rather than a hierarchy-driven one. That mattered to me as a local customer. I also intentionally visited after lunch, roughly three hours before closing, based on Google trends and reviewer feedback indicating that period was less busy. That assessment proved accurate. --- Arrival & First Impressions Parking was more challenging than expected. There were no clear signs indicating customer parking, and I had to circle the block. I also noticed staff/dealer vehicles occupying customer stalls; small details, but it shaped first impressions. When entering the showroom, I held the door open for a sales consultant exiting the building. There was no acknowledgment or thank-you. It was a small interaction, but aloha is often conveyed in small moments. The receptionist, however, was welcoming and kind. When I explained that I wanted to order a vehicle and meet the sales manager, she personally walked over and spoke with Rex Bui, the sales manager. I noticed he glanced in our direction and continued with other business. While waiting, we observed a sales floor largely staffed by kupuna, with many kupuna customers purchasing vehicles. The showroom layout is very open. About 10 feet from where we were seated, an older couple was openly discussing financing terms with their consultant, which felt surprisingly exposed. --- Waiting & Initial Follow-Up After 25 minutes, our daughter was understandably restless, and my wife and I were growing impatient as well. I let the receptionist know we needed to leave in five minutes. She informed the sales manager again. He glanced over once more and continued what he was doing. After approximately 30 minutes total, I asked for his business card and left. Later that day, I emailed Rex asking for a recommendation for a sales consultant who: - Was comfortable with factory orders - Was responsive - Understood cash purchases He recommended Ricky Thai. --- Sales Process Reality Ricky contacted me the following day and explained Servco Lexus Honolulu's ordering process; something future customers should understand clearly: Although Lexus USA allows customers to configure vehicles pre-production, Servco does not allow full customer-selected configurations. Instead, customers must choose from three bundled tiers of packages and options. Ricky provided the bundle documentation, which I appreciated. To be fair, this approach likely appeals to customers who feel overwhelmed by choices and simplifies the dealership's operations. However, the bundled exterior, interior, and wheel combinations did not match my preferences. I reached out asking Ricky whether Servco could make a limited exception; I was willing to order from one of their bundles except for the wheel selection. After a full week with no response, no call and no message, I decided to move on. --- Final Communication & Closure In my final email informing them that I would be ordering from another dealership, I cc'd the General Manager, Tony Chang. My intent was to provide leadership with context, close the loop on my experience, and offer Servco an opportunity to engage. Neither Tony nor Rex responded. --- Final Reflection Servco's founding father, Peter Fukunaga, once said: "You either grow or you die." From a customer's perspective, the sales department feels retired-in-place. Experienced, but not motivated to grow, adapt, or fully embody the idea of being a services company, despite Servco's proud Hawaiʻi heritage. My hope is that future customers experience a sales culture that reflects both modern expectations and true aloha.

My first experience with Lexus isn't the greatest. I had my Lexus IS 350 and was forced to sell. I now drive a Lexus GS 350 and decided to give Lexus's a second chance, specifically with the Service Department. I needed to get the spring on my hood replaced along with replacing the back struts and tire replacements. My Service Advisor for this service is Frank Oros. He was knowledgeable, attentive and helpful during the entire process. He explained what was needed to be done. This entire process took about 3 weeks including getting the parts delivered and the time I took being away on a trip. Overall, I would recommend to have Frank Oros as your Service Advisor. Richard and the entire Servco Lexus team made the car buying process so easy and efficient! It's been 10 years since I've been in the market for another vehicle and I was honestly not looking forward to car shopping. As soon as I entered the showroom I was greeted and offered a beverage. Richard was attentive and easy to work with. Within 10 minutes, I was test driving a car. I had already done hours of research with the goal of checking inventory and test driving a car. From there, we texted once and e-mailed twice to fine tune some details and 3 days later I was able to pick up my 2025 Lexus ES! On delivery day, while I waited a few minutes for finance, Richard scheduled my 6 month and 1 year service. Completing the finance paper work with Alan was also very easy and efficient. While Alan worked on processing some things, he was able to schedule tint and clear coating service for the next week. When I did final inspection of the car, Richard helped me get my in car preferences set up as well as the Lexus app. He offered to put a bow on the car and actually took some nice pictures for me! He took the time to go through every single button, touch option, etc. At some point, a grasshopper landed on my hood and Richard jumped out, got a cloth and detailed it on the spot...and then again a few minutes later when I rolled down the window causing water streaks (as they had just detailed the car) ‍ From start to finish, it was the best experience I've ever had car shopping! Highly recommend working with Richard and Servco Lexus if you want a straight forward, easy, and efficient car shopping/buying, luxury experience. Everything was clean and aesthetic and everyone I crossed paths with was friendly and professional.

Lexus should have, more personable customer service agents. Scheduled appointment, for my 2024 Lexus. My tires were shredding and wearing more than normal, strands and chunks of tire were coming off tires. Thought I should get it looked at, for safety, plus we did purchase the tire warranty upon initial purchase of new vehicle. Called service department, I explained what my concerns were ... Representative said, "I do see you have the "tire warranty" and scheduled appointment. Took off of work, made it to my appointment 30 mins early. Upon checking in, Service representative walked out with me to vehicle and as he was looking at tires. told me, "yeah we don't cover that". I told him we bought the "tire warranty and if they could inspect the tires to let us know if it was still safe to drive", (due to the shredding of tread and having some chunks of thread missing from tires). Even with an appointment, he said "it's gonna take them a while to inspect because they were busy and I would be charged a "service fee" to do that" ... A "service fee" for our 2 year old Lexus ??? Service agent, also said "warranty only cover tire flats" (these are "run-flat" tires) "and doesn't include defects on tires" ... WTH ??? Told me "maybe you can go to Bridgestone," but if Lexus replaced these 20,000 mile used tires (50,000 warranty) they would have to charge me for new tires" . I replied, " I wished when I explained my problem to representative when making appointment, that representative would have let me know that nothing was going to be done and I wouldn't have taken off a day from work". Service agent replied, "People making reservations, just do that, make reservations and don't know service" ... again WTH !!! This is my 4th Lexus, but now it seems even Lexus doesn't have that "higher" standard or loyalty to their customers of the past. Very sad and disappointed with today's experience and customer service interaction ... no empathy or compassion from Service agent. FYI ... Lexus vehicles are great and mostly dependable ... but don't purchase the warranties ... they don't make any sense to do so. read more

Because they only have one location for service, it's always busy. The property is small So when trying to park the car in that little driveway it's difficult . The cars are very close. Why is the service representative are only men. Some are not very nice , rude in fact. Just because I'm a woman , don't assume I don't know anything about cars because I do!!!! read more

I have a POS car from Windward Ford has had to go back to the dealership every 6 months since I got the car. This time it has been at the dealer for a month. The dealer didn't offer a loaner while they were working on the car, a rental car was going to cost $700 a week. It was a total sh#@ show and I was angry. I vowed at that moment that I will only buy Toyotas from that moment forward. I have purchased vehicles from Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Ford. While the German cars were lovely with lovely sales/service people, they are quite pricy to fix once out of warranty. I wanted something reliable and I wanted it to be the last time I ever bought a car. I walked into Servco Lexus on my way home from work. I don't know what compelled me to drop in to the dealership on this particular day. Almost immediately, I was greeted by Sean Son. He was exceedingly friendly without being overbearing. I was pretty much set on buying a Toyota Sienna or Camry, but he changed my mind. I saw a model that I might like. He let me know that the model was available, and he could get it to the dealership in a few days. When I went back to pick up the car, the entire process was relatively quick - I want to say that I was out in about an hour. At my second visit Sean also helped me set up my first 2 service appointments, ran me through the functions of the vehicle, and helped me set up my app. Apparently, he does some awesome TikToks. Look him up! All in all, this was a painless experience. The car was also a lot cheaper than my POS Ford Explorer. read more

I had an issue come into my hands with my Lexus CT200h which I had recently purchased from Servco Lexus, and I had contacted Jason Thai and told him about my issues I had with the car upon delivery, he rested me assured and let me know that everything was going to be taken care of. I notified that I was available yesterday and came back down to Lexus to have my car taken care of. Dayven had helped me out and even brought me a loaner to use. It was amazing since everything happened so quick and my car even got repaired within the day! Dayven if you are ever reading this, thank you, and I cannot thank you enough! 10/10 would recommend. I'm not a customer, but a car broke down in front of the dealership. The driver tried to get out and push her car on her own and out of nowhere, three Lexus workers ran across three lanes of traffic to help her push the car to a safer location. I can't afford a Lexus at this time, but the employees sure have dedication and give me faith in humanity. read more

Car Sales Man: Sean @seans_servcolexushonolulu Just bought my first brand new car! Had a couple bad experiences at other dealerships which is usually normal: lengthy back and forth negotiations, pushy salesmen etc. But at servco lexus they are very friendly and straight forward. Lexus' are very reliable but expensive cars. I wasn't even thinking I would walk out with a luxury 2023 ES 350. I was fine with the base model but the black friday deals were WORTH the wait. Sean was great at getting us a great deal and explaining the ins and outs of the car. Before we arrived, me and my bf talked privately that the first thing we want to do is a test drive. No lengthy convos just let us feel and drive the car. Within 5 minutes of us showing up he immediately offered us a test drive. Then the whole buying process was extremely extremely smooth and stress free. All green flags (great signs). I'm glad we got Sean! read more

It all started out by me wanting to get my wife a bag and somehow I found myself driving into Lexus just to check out their vehicles. I was browsing and looking at their used cars and that's when Ms. Sandy Kelly came up to me and introduced herself. She has been working for Servco for over 20 years and is very knowledgeable. After doing some tire kicking, I asked my better half to come by to take a look and the rest was history. They offered us a fair trade in for our car but with Covid there is a shortage on vehicles so we placed an order for a 2022 as the model the better half wanted was not going to come in this year. After thinking about it, she changed her mind on the model she wanted and saw that they were going to get a shipment in so we called Sandy and she took care of us and put a hold on that vehicle so no one else could take it. When the vehicle came in, she gave us a call to come in. She even stayed after hours to show us how the vehicle works. She set up my wife's phone to download the special app, and to get Car Play and showed us all the features that would could do. She is a true professional. The better half is loving her new car and Sandy even texted to see how we are liking it and if we have any questions. If you are going to buy a Lexus, I strongly suggest calling Sandy as she will take care of you from the start to finish. read more

needed to replace 2 front tires needless to say asked for next available appointment asap next day Sat. service depth. Frank texted to say have opening 10.am wow !,%^$ . got there Frank explained service recommended alignment price total " cherry " added also a lyft ride instead of waiting at Lexus ( even though that also would have been a comfortable option ) decided to lyft off to ala moana and back to Lexus after receiving the call from Frank saying when you're ready to return your vehicle is ready . Frank kindly ask if wanted a complimentary car wash but denied his offer due to vehicle appointment Monday for ceramic coating... Mahalo Frank & Lexus service peeps well done experience Lexus ... too add Parts service tech Beau who guided and introduced this whole experience ( beautiful man ) is well appreciated time... there's a kicker ! ..... When coming to Lexus Honolulu ask for Richard Lee. I Came here couple of times looking at different cars. Richard Lee was very helpful and kind helping me find the right car and also he is very patient as I am a very indecisive person. Went in with no appointment. Met Julie front desk, very welcoming. Our cars salesman was Jason T. He was very welcoming, didn't push us to buy a car. He answered all of our questions and concerns. He listened to our issue with our previous Lexus and the dilemma we were in. He was able to work out a deal with his manager to accommodate our request and walk out with almost a brand new Lexus that had less than 5k miles for a great deal. David who was the finance also made sure that we were covered from warranty to insurance so that we are not put back on the same punch we were with our other Lexus. I would highly recommend them. We were a last minute walk in, just wanted to get an update on a car I was watching from their salesman Jason Thai. He was gracious and helped us, even though he had a full plate that day, and wasn't even supposed to be there that day anyway. Although not the car I was looking at, we went home with a newer and altogether nicer one. I absolutely love this IS. Thing drives like it's on rails. Being that a recall correction should be free of charge, how is their customer service when dealing specifically with recalls?

I had no problems with customer service. I had a recall for my Lexus RX-330 dashboard replacement that I was waiting for quite some time. However, when they did finally contact me, everything went smoothly.

When selling to them, Do they really ask for the title before they give you the check?

They need the title signed over to them and have role sure there are no lien holder having the legal title to your vehicle. You cannot transfer title over if you don't have clear title.

BEWARE! My first time buying car from a dealership. I recently bought a preowned 2017 Camry car from them. After couple days of purchased the car, I noticed the car is shaky at certain distance and clunky sound when I turn the steering wheel all the way. I didn't feel the shake when I took for test drive or maybe because they made me drove certain road so I won't feel it. I informed the sale person and took it back for them to take a look. After a day they informed nothing major wrong and they fix it because one of the tires was not install properly. I took it back drove for couple days and the clunky sound of steering wheel is still there. Sale person told me to take in mechanic because they no longer responsible for it. I took in mechanic and it turned out the whole steering wheel have problem. It is safety hazard to not recommended to drive around. Imagine if the steering wheel locked when you drive on freeway. This is can be result in big accident or death. Also I found out the cost to get it fix is around 7k around half the amount I purchased the car. Luckily it covered under warranty of manufacture. Imagine if I find out the problem after warranty date. The dealer never informed about the car and said there is no mechanical issue. For a person a non mechanic and little knowledge about car and was able to discover the issue why can't the people at Servco exam their vehicle and find it out the issue before sell to public? What is whole point buying from dealer if their vehicle is not even safe to drive. Also deal w the time and trouble to get it fix right after bought from them. After I informed them about issue of the car, then the person in contact told me I can bring the car in have them evaluate and give me another car if I like. He also said they will give good price to compensate the times and trouble going through w mechanics. When I took the car out of the mechanic to have them evaluate, the assistant manager gave me 2k less than the price I purchased for. I barely even drove the car and most of the time it spent at mechanic place and time going back and forth with dealer. Also the price they give for a 2018 Camry to exchange is even more expensive than the price I randomly dealer I pull within 5 mins on car gurus online. So much for their claim to compensate and bend over backward to give me good price. More like they want make more money out of their mistake. I'm stuck w the car hoping there is no other issue just because I believe they said no mechanic issue at time of purchase. read more

I have purchased two Lexus from this dealer. Which in Hawaii is the only dealer. I was skeptical about buying a car from the only dealer but they did bargain. The price I paid was reasonable (of course I "true price" the car first) and the sale person was nice and low pressure. What was unusual was sales person remembered me and my name even after 4 years, without prompting. (time between buying my wife SUV and my car). I can't even remember who my boss was four years ago. However, I am not very keen on the service department. Hence minus one star. Their price is very high and I doubt their sincerity . I would not mind the price if the service was outstanding. However, for treatment and the hassel I sooner just take my car to Firestone or Goodyear. As a comparison, I took my mom's BMW in to the shop once for normal maintenance. Normally I would drop off and leave, but the BMW waiting room was outstanding. It had a nice cappuccino machine, nice relaxing recliner seats, magazines, a TV, and free internet. The waiting area was also open and bright. Then there is the craziness that the service people tell you. Once I brought in my wife SUV for normal oil change service. They call me and tell me that my tires need to be replaced because they are balding unevenly. However, I just replaced the tire a week prior and I told them that. The service guy said a lot of things can happen over the week. So I told him not to do anything until he showed me the uneven wear. It turns out that he was looking at a different car. Same make and model, just not my wifes SUV. Recently my wife took in my car because it had a weird sound coming from the rooftop (convertible). The service guy said he heard it and would need time to get the parts. The parts came in, but when they tried finding the problem they said they could not find it. My wife complained and so they look again. This time they found it and they said they need to get more repair parts. 2 weeks later, the parts came in and the problem was resolved. The only good thing was that they gave her a loaner car for the 2 weeks. There is more but it would take to long. I think you get the picture. I would give it 3 stars but I cant take away 2 stars just because of the service department. Other than the price, they are no better or worse than Firestone or Goodyear. I would recommend people buy a Lexus and from this dealer. The service department, that is hard to say especially if the car is still under warranty. read more

He attentively listened to my needs, efficiently narrowed down my options, and provided comprehensive explanations that enabled me to make an informed decision. We have been to Lexus a few times in our current journey to find a replacement vehicle for my wife. We have had some ho hum experiences, but lacked someone that said I really want to return and give that person my business again in the future. We have previously purchased majority of our vehicles from Lexus and Toyota, but find it hard to leave the Lexus brand. In our journey we tried BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, and Lexus. I just purchased a brand new 2021 NX300. I had such a great experience! The GM, Charlie Wong and Sales rep, Sean Son had such great customer service! First and foremost, health and safety is a priority. I had to fill out a form which was a Covid questionnaire, they took my temperature, and gave me hand sanitizer. I traded in my car to get a brand spanking new one! Sean was very knowledgeable about the car I wanted, thorough, and answered all my questions. While we were waiting for the credit check and approval from bank, I was offered bottle water. The process was very smooth. They prepped and washed the car for me the next day, but I couldn't go back to pick it up because I was working. Sean offered to drop the car off to me. Talk about Customer service!!! The following day I picked up my belongings from my old car (trade in) and Charlie made sure everything went well and I was happy. He even made sure that my phone was linked up to the car before I left. If you need a vehicle, I would highly recommend seeing Sean at Lexus Honolulu. Servco understands my need and worked hard to help me to make the purchase possible. The salesperson was Michael Hamada who was very courteous and helpful and made the transaction very pleasant. He went out of his way to help deliver the vehicle to me. This is not an easy transaction but requires shipping to the mainland. Michael followed up with getting all the title and shipping work that made the purchase successful. Also, I got daily calls and updates from him. He will also mail me the title on certified mail with tracking and personally deliver the vehicle to the shipping dock for us. The dealership also give us a new coat of wax to make sure there is additional protection against dirt and dust from the shipping. Michael also offered rides for us to and from the dealership gave us a car to use for the weekend. It has been a wonderful experience working with Michael and Servco and I will recommend Servco to any of my friends. read more

He was very knowledgeable in the different cars available on the lot and explained the different features and mechanics of the car. Wow, I had a great experience with Jason. He was friendly, patient, and came across as genuine. I felt he was authentically happy for the upgraded features that happened to be included with the car by the previous owner. Completing all of the paperwork was also quick and easy. Went to Servco Lexus to look for a replacement car. Jason Thai, remember that name if you are looking for a great experience, helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Very professional. Explained everything and answered all my questions. Went beyond the norm looking for a vehicle. As you know there is extremely limited inventory during Covid. He found 2 that were still in transit on a ship and we made the purchase. The whole process was much shorter than I had experience at other car dealers, much shorter. My car should be in in 2 weeks and I'll write another review on the after sales experience (most dealers don't care much about you after they make the sale). read more

I no longer needed my truck so i went to look at a few places before I came to servco lexus. The team at servco lexus was short staffed since the car show was going on, but we were lucky to be paired with Bryan Okuno to help us with our trade in and purchase of a lexus suv. Bryan was kind, friendly and very helpful. In fact, some other people wanted to test drive the same car I wanted to buy and he made sure I got it!! The service is no pressure and relaxed.
