Just recently bought a used Mazda and needed to have my 2 tires replaced. Found out no wheel lock key was ever left in the vehicle so the tires could not be replaced. Made an appointment with Mazda to have them remove the "aftermarket lug nuts" and replace with Mazda lug nuts, including to purchase the wheel lock package. Kristel checked me in and handled all the paperwork needed to have my car worked on. She was so sweet, very pleasant and she really cared! She kept me abreast of what was needed to be done in regards to the lug nut replacements, gave me a quote as a heads up and was very efficient in calling me as soon as my vehicle was done! I only went there to buy antifreeze. I had some leaking smell at the front of my car. I changed a few hoses and needed antifreeze. I could've went to Walmart, but for a little more and piece of mind I bought the dealer Mazda product. I called in advance and asked for the parts department. The guy that answered was a cool guy and knew cars very well. He had the right questions and even recommendations what he would do. He told me when and where. I visited the store the same day, it's kind of by the Medical School, back roads are faster than waiting at each stop light on Ala Moana Blvd. When I arrived, I was quickly greeted and directed to the parts guy. Called for a simple part for a 2012 mazda 2. I asked if they had the grommet for the windshield washer tank pump. The parts woman (Nami) asked me for the Vin #. I told her I did not have it and it did not matter because the mazda 2 only came in one engine size for those years and the grommet would be the same for all of them. She insisted that she needed the VIN #. Again, I insisted that she go through the system, select any trim level and see if they had the grommet. She refused all while being extremely rude and then hung up on me. I called back and she cursed at me and hung up again. Thankfully I called the other mazda dealer and without asking me the VIN# the person was able to find the part in literally 20 seconds. PLEASE REMOVE NAMI from your parts or sales dept. Meant to post this a year ago, but considering I still use Cutter Mazda's car services, I'm gonna update my review. I came back to Cutter after my old salesman, Marc, told me that a pair of Mazda CX-50s arrived. I was looking into this particular model and asked Marc to let me know if any version came in. Arriving there, I signed the test drive waiver and was immediately given the keys for a test drive. I loved the CX-50, but was in a dilemma. I had the CX-30 on lease for another year and wasn't too sure if I wanted to trade in, incur a penalty, etc, etc. I was also thinking about whether to just buy the car considering that 2022 was such a bad year for buying and/or leasing because of skyrocketing demand and not enough supply. Marc and the GM, Matt, gave me the facts and met me in a place where I was comfortable with buying the CX-50! Because of the demand for cars like the CX-30, I was able to turn in my lease, and with some other negotiable items, was able to leave that evening with a new CX-50! Everyone I interacted with that day was professional and addressed my concerns, and was really satisfied with how everything turned out. They are not close to where we live, but were hopeful that the deals were better there. We settled on a price for a 2023 Civic and when we came back, to order the car, we found that it was sold. Our Salesman Bo Ikeda helped us find a 2024 model and we got it for the same price as the 2023. We are happy with the deal, and happy with the service. read more

This was the worst car buying experience I ever went through. I spent over 9 hours there just to jump through hoops, be humiliated, and getting lied to. One of the sales reps said that if I was serious about wanting to buy the car, I was to physically give him my credit card and he would wave it in front of his manager to show that I was serious in wanting to buy today. I felt humiliated. Next, I wasn't satisfied with the final price of the car, so they showed me a discounted price they could offer. I agreed and signed a form. Later I realized the price of the car was larger than the price they showed me on the computer. When I brought this up with another associate, they played dumb and told me I signed the form so I agreed to that higher price. That upset me. Next I told them I have car insurance, but I didn't sign up for one for the specific make and model since I didn't decide which car to buy. The sales rep made me call a 24 hour insurance in order to buy car insurance from another company because my current insurance company was closed for the day. I never had to do something like this when buying a new car. I also just returned from deployment and my license is expired. Per the DMV, my license is valid for 90 days after I returned to the states. The dealership didn't honor that, so they told me I had to bring somebody else to the dealership in order to physically drive it off of the lot. I had a friend drive from Ewa to Honolulu, a 40 minute drive for him, just because the dealership wouldn't honor a rule from the DMV. I also want to mention in between all of this, I was sitting around the dealership waiting with the sales rep to talk to his manager constantly, wait hours to talk to some finance guy about some warranty I didn't want to buy, and having another associate try to socially bond with me as I'm irritated having to go through all of this. When I was finally given the car, they noticed the rear right wheel had a low PSI, so one of the sales reps went to fill up the tire with air. I asked another sales rep if we can get the tire inspected before I drove off, but he told me that the car was in storage for a while so it's probably normal. Well it wasn't normal. As I drove the car on the freeway, I heard a rattling sound, so I immediately drove back to the dealership. Turns out I was right and there was a nail in the tire and I was internally fuming. The sales rep gave me a rental car and told me to come back tomorrow to get my fixed car. I received it the next day and tried to calm down. I was then told two days later to come back again to sign a form for my bank's autoloan. From my home to the dealership is 30 minutes and I've driven to this dealership multiple times. And then after that, I was told by a sales rep that when I receive my customer survey email, I was to give them a 10 or else he would get yelled at. First off I know it's about a Christmas bonus so there's no need to patronize me. Second, after all they put me through, they're telling me to give them a 10 for customer satisfaction? That's insulting! Even weeks after buying the car, nobody ever called to check on me to see if the car is doing alright. At this point I'm just upset with owning a Mazda with all the things I went through. After all that, I don't even want to go to the dealership again for routine service if that means I'm giving them business. I'd rather go to a different dealership to get maintenance. If this is how the Cutter dealership brand treats their customers, I don't see myself buying another car from them in the future. read more

I bought a used 2016 CX5 last year and brought it in to be serviced for the first time this week. It was easy to schedule an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation and the receptionist was super polite, friendly, patient and helpful. Service was straight forward and easy. They were able to fix all the safety issue right then and there at a very reasonable cost (the tinting at the top of my windshield was too thick, my wiper blades were streaking) There was no pressure to do anything exorbitant. For example, the computer system kept restarting while I was driving. The tech removed the old SD card and told me that there was not actually a need to update to the new software if I didn't plan to use the Mazda GPS system. Saved me $600 right there. There was a comfortable waiting area with large comfy couches and a large TV. I am very happy with my experience and will definitely be taking my car in for service in the years to come. read more

After making a decision on a Mazda vehicle, all of the paper work preparation was scheduled for a next day appointment. When we arrived to purchase the vehicle, all the information was being processed at that time rather than having everything ready for signing. After all the paper work was completed, we were told that we had to wait for the finance manager to finalize the purchase. Overall, it took two hours to complete. Efficiency has to improve there. I do want to mention that our salesperson, Robert H. is knowledgeable about the Mazda vehicles and answered a number of questions. He is a hard worker, very helpful and put us at ease. They gave us a great deal on a different car with better miles since the one we were looking at was getting sold that day. We had Brian and Johnny help us with the buying process. They were both great and super friendly! There was also 2 small hiccups with a check from the credit union (make sure the check is made out to Cutter Mazda instead of the cutter umbrella company if using a credit union) and that I was told my car had apple car play when it was sold when it did not. Both times as soon as the general manager of the store heard what was going on stepped in and made it right. Overall, I will start with I love my car. I got a Mazda CX5 and the actual service they day I purchased was great. Timely but great. However, following the day of purchase it, I went through some weird things. Financing had to be changed, then I couldn't get a hold of the salesperson for some questions like, what is this chalky substance on my dashboard? ...BC there were some financing problems it was hard to communicate and get a hold of salesperson and FM (low staff, staff is busy runnjng around, playing phone tag, etc). Anyways went another day to pick up my old car and re-do my contract. (Side note: I felt like ai was diving a brand new car illegally lol!) Worked with a different FM and got a spray cleaner for the chalky substance (it didn't work) not his fault, he tried. Then, months passed and I didn't get a call about my license plate. After calling multiple times to get no where, I went through the chat box on website to get a hold of someone and the branch manager called right away. I went in, got the plate from a salesman that was willing to help, he asked if I wanted him to put it on -- I tell him NO but he did it anyways. (I literally got a personalized license plate the next day). Haven't been back there since. Got my first service at Waipahu and it was great, quick and friendly. Overall, friendly service! I guess they are short handed? Not sure...but make sure you communicate clearly to them, advocate for yourself, and when you do get a hold of them, they are nice... I will end with, nice and friendly staff & I love my CV5, but make sure to advocate for yourself! First time purchasing Mazda, I've purchased 2 Toyota's prior and never had issues communicating...or ever had problems getting my license plate. This is regarding their Service Department. This has nothing to do with the Sales Department. Brought my 2020 CX-9 in for an oil change and they filled it up way past the line. Having the oil too high can damage your engine. Either the person changing the oil didn't check the level before signing off or they did check it and did not give a damn and didn't want to do the job right so they just hoped no one would look. Brought it back in 3 days later and to me the oil level was still high but they said it was acceptable. If you get oil changes here please make sure that it's not overfilled that could cause issues down the road. So I leased a mazda 2020 back in February and loved the car. I recently was pulled over by HPD due to an outstanding safety check, which I understand is also my fault for not checking, however prior to my vehicle being pulled over, I had went it for 2 oil change and a tire change. I talked to Krystal who gave me an outstanding service and spoke to the service manager. Per the manager, I was denied compensation for my ticket, even if it is cutter mazdas protocol to check the vehicle this safety tag was expired since January 2020 I just feel mazda could at least have paid for a $70 ticket when I have been giving ghem repeat business since 2016 ‍ Like I said, I do enjoy the car but the customer service just feels like words and no connection. Cutter Mazda literally uses every trick in the book to get you to pay more than a fair price. On my first visit I told them that I was just shopping because I was very happy with my Toyota and I had to look at other places before buying. I knew that I kind of liked the Mazda 3 because I had it for a rental car for 4 days in Fort Lauderdale last year. It was really fun to drive. After spending about an hour, I was really happy and wanted a Mazda3 s Grand Touring because of the leather seats, heads up display, and remote gate transmitter and a whole bunch of other fun stuff built into the highest level premium model. When I was ready to buy, they came back with a purchase price of $32,569! They wanted to charge me full Market MSRP price plus a whole bunch of paint sealant and Theft Protection and dealer availability adjustment that I was totally not interested in paying. I finally purchased a Mazda3 s Grand Touring for the edmunds.com price of $25,082 plus tax, license, and doc fee (MSRP was $26,630). It took 4 trips to the dealership and over 10 hours for them to meet MY PRICE. I didn't pay the extra $999 rust proofing and paint sealant "that's already on the car". At the end they were even going to tack on $220 for VTR before I said, "What the HECK is VTR?!?" They wanted to add Vehicle Theft Registration in with the tax. I said I don't want that either. The moral of the story is never buy on your first visit. Take a look and see what you want and do some research and come back. The car will be there the next day. read more

He was so patient because it took me more than an hour before I finally decided which car I wanted. He even had to get more than 5 keys to move some cars around to get to the one I wanted to test drive. I ended up test driving 2 cars. I'm happy we weren't pressured to buy a car on the spot. They asked us what we were looking for in a car and worked from there. Whenever I have an issue, it takes me over 3 days of calling to be able to speak to someone who can help. So another worker came out (Robert) and both Robert and Mikey ran around the entire lot in the dark and light rain looking for the color I desired (mind you, this was now 2 hrs AFTER they closed). Without any success, I told them its ok and we'll keep in touch. As they were walking me out (sadly without a car) Mikey asked if he could introduce me to his manager (Nohili). Nohili came out just to say thank you for coming in (again no pressure "talk" what so ever). The only car thing we talked about was what color I was looking for, the rest of the conversation was local kine talk story sesh (music stuff, where you grad from, where you grew up kine tings). The very next day, I get a text from them saying WE FOUND YOUR CAR!! I wasn't able to go in that day to see it, so they said they'll hold it until I can get there. I made an appointment for the day after that, and when I pulled up, they had it parked right in the front for me and even greeted me outside!! VIP TREATMENT AT ITS FINEST!!!! The thing that made this experience so amazing (besides everything mentioned above) is that they were so excited for ME!! It wasn't about the sale. It truly was about seeing me happy. Even the Financial Manager was so knowledgeable and made the purchase seamless and comfortable!!! When I say we NEEDED a new car, it's an understatement. We have been driving our used at purchase 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the last 7 years, to include two moves from San Diego to the Bay Area and back, a job requiring constant commute, and a move across the ocean to Hawai'i. Prior to coming in we had already done some research on cars we wanted based on both need, as a family of four, and aesthetic. We had our minds set on what we could afford, gathered everything we needed, and made appointments... Thus, bringing us to Cutter Mazda. We were greeted immediately by Elliot as we pulled into the lot. He confirmed our appointment and was able to take care of us. Insert chit chat and small talk... good conversation. Tom, also came out to introduce himself while we were waiting and had earlier confirmed our appointment over the phone. Everyone is so nice in Hawai'i. We knew EXACTLY the car we wanted from this dealership. Elliot drove it up front, we took a look, he explained some cool features, and I took it for a test drive. Elliot's team of folks were able to work with us after some back and forth negotiating numbers. Also Yosuke checked in, gave us waters, and worked the negotiations. The process wasn't too lengthy, though my 7 year old would say otherwise. Elliot walked us through everything we needed and the signing of papers at the end was swift. We drove off with our 2021 CX-5 by lunchtime. The overall experience was pleasant, no pushy weird sales pitches, and simply with the intent to give us what we requested. The managers at this dealership are excellent. Initially my experience with the sales team wasn't perfect, but when the manager became aware, he took great care of us. In the sale's teams defense, my purchase was challenging since I am an out of state purchaser and this is not the typical purchase. In any case, once I got connected with the right manager, the customer service has been great and I have absolutely no complaints. For a local buyer, I believe this would be a very good dealership to work with. read more
