    ** BUYER BEWARE | MILITARY MEMBERS BEWARE ** Do not buy a car here they will sell you junk, blame you for whatever problem the car has then give you the run around when it comes to scheduling repairs. I purchased a car here in May 2023 and almost immediately the check engine light came on. I returned to the dealer and told the salesperson Peter about the problem and right away Peter connects the car up to a small diagnostic machine and declares the problem to be a "FAULTY GAS CAP" then states he would look for a replacement cap. Fast forward a few weeks later and still no gas cap, the check engine light comes on again, so I return to the dealer Peter checks the car and AGAIN states it's a gas cap issue and that he is still looking for a replacement cap. So, after waiting more than a month for the supposed fix I am driving just a few miles from home and every single warning light this car has comes on, so I go into my local car service, and they tell me that I have a blown head gasket and that engine oil is mixing with the coolant in my vehicle. I called Peter at Max Motors and told him the problem; I sent Peter the report from the car repair service, and he told me to bring the car in. I brought the car to him, and he confirmed the broken head gaskets. Peter says that he will find out what it costs to repair the car and work with me on the cost to repair it. WAIT WHAT!!! Work with me on the cost to repair a car you sold me that should have never been on the road AS IS and was not sold as road worthy. So, I waited a few days for Peter to call back and of course HE DOESN'T so I call him and yup he gives me the old "HEY I CAUGHT COVID AND HAVEN'T BEEN TO WORK" so at this point I know these guys are trying to scam me. Peter then passes me off to his manager named John who right away tries to blame me for the car's problems as well so of course we talk, and I thought we had come to some agreement on trying to resolve my car issue which turned out to be more scammy behavior. After two conversations with him in which I told him that I could not get to work, doctors' appointments or even the grocery store, John's reply was "Well can't you take a taxi to work or get a ride from someone else?" John then proceeds to say that he has also caught COVID and shut down his business until next Tuesday September 26, 2023, and that he cannot get a quote to fix the vehicle or help me at all until then. I even asked John if he expected me to believe that in the short span of 3 months that a vehicle would develop a cracked head gasket and faulty coolant leak system, especially when I only drive the car 12 miles to and from work with local trips. I have less than 500 miles on this car from May to September! In short instead of owning up to selling people JUNK and trying to resolve the repair issues in favor of your customer or client, you guys simply blame your customer, hide behind fake COVID claims (who even does that anymore) or simply lie about the extent of your mechanics ability to make these cars roadworthy. I will be taking my complaints to the State of Hawaii, the Department of Transportation, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, Social Media and any other public space, permit or licensing source to have these guys sanctioned. Stop costing hard working people money and time. DO THE RIGHT THING PETER AND JOHN! MAX MOTORS WILL SELL YOU JUNK ! MAX MOTORS WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!

    My husband and I are so impressed with this place! It's small, but it had a great selection of vehicles on the lot. We saw a Jeep they had for sale online, called about it, and we set a time to check it out. When we got there, they had just detailed it and made it look so good! Clinton was our sales guy, and we are so happy to have worked with him. He was so laid back, which we really appreciated. There was never the feeling of being pushed around like other car dealerships. Jon (the owner) was super cool, and he made sure the Jeep was in great condition for us. Clinton had the car washed again for us after buying and filled up the gas tank. It was all such a smooth and easy experience - it was wonderful! I would definitely recommend checking out their inventory!

Looking around for a bit a salesperson comes out and greets us. He seemed nice, (don't all salespeople I thought to myself). Well he turned out to be very nice. She took the vehicle for a spin and he actually told her the good and the bad about the vehicle which kind of shocked me (a honest salesperson hmmmm). After all was said and done, he crunched the numbers and got her the financing she wanted and I got to go home hungry. Don't let the dirt lot fool you as this place my be no frills but they offer great service, pricing, and financing. I would of gave them 5 stars but I like frills and didn't like the fact my car ended up dusty.

I tried doing it thru the app, but it was quite confusing so I called and spoke to an automated machine and prayed that this bot understood what I needed an appointment for. I took off a star (not for this particular cutter location) because you can never speak to a real person. Making an appointment is soooo difficult and you don't know which location you are supposed to go to because it literally lists the town, Pearl city, AND Waipahu location! I once went to Pearl city and got told my appointment was in Waipahu. If I could just speak to an actual person, I wouldn't have been late to my appointment last time! Luckily today, I arrived at the Pearl city location quite early just to make sure that I was even at the right location for my safety check, which thankfully it was. I was greeted by Brenda who was such a sweetheart. I let her know I just needed a safety. She took some pictures of my car and had me wait while they finish the inspection. Even though it took some time (as expected being the end of the month), Brenda always came by to check in with me and let me know they were working on it. She even made small talk with me for a bit, and that goes a long way in business! The best part about buying here is the free safety! Until next year!

    Took my car in for a warranty repair of my driver seat. When i got the car back, the side of the…read moreseat was scratched right where two panels meet and the cushion not put back on correctly. I left a voicemail about it to work this out with the service lady who proceeded later to tell me the tech took a picture of the scratch on my seat before working on my car, but i guess that's fine when the tech realizes he tried taking the seat apart the wrong way, takes picture of his mistake, then finds the correct way to access the part to replace. Service manager stated techs take pics of the area to be worked before starting work. If that's the case, i only got a picture of one side of the seat and not the other side..so tech didn't follow the service managers instructions and SM sides with her lying tech. Got it. This isn't the first time I've been lied to by techs at this dealership doing warranty work on my car. Previous visit was for ACTUALLY replacing my entertainment screen and not lying about it being done the first time. Ask me how i know...not difficult to figure out if parts get replaced or not. Why should you have to worry about this coming here??? IF you do still go to this con job of a place, at least take pics yourself of area to be worked before you rely on "Certified" techs doing the work the right way, the FIRST time! This dealership is a con job...plain and simple. BBB review incoming.
