We have NEVER left that restaurant unhappy! The food is just like no other around here. Service is awesome too!! Seafood Kitchen is the place to go for Seafood!! You can have it cooked any way you like!! Fresh fish on a daily basis!! I can't say enough good about the food and the service! It's a must when visiting!!! read more

What a great spot. In town for a couple of days and looked to yelp to find a place to eat. Was a bit concerned based upon some recent reviews but we gave it a shot and I'm glad we did. Started off with gator tails and calamari. Then moved to the seafood feast for 2. Great service, timely food, and everything tasted great. We tried to get back for a second visit but just couldn't fit it into our schedule. I'm typing this with a full belly...all fat and happy. We were one of the only customers when we walked in around noon but it quickly filled up. Looked like a healthy crowd of regulars returning. Will definitely visit again the next time we're in town. Yelpers, make this a stop! read more

We've been eating here for years when we come to town (my parents now live down here so we frequent here more often). This restaurant is definitely not the greatest seafood I've ever had but it is delicious. If you're looking for affordable prices THIS is your go to. We enjoy this whole in the wall's blackened seafood. We usually get the seafood platters and it's a plethora of seafood either blackened or fried. We've tried a lot from their menu. One of my favorites is the tilapia salad which comes with a side. Their blue cheese dressing is to die for (it's homemade). The servers are the sweetest. This is a little gem myself and my family love to go to. Definitely worth trying if you're in town and not looking to pay an arm and a leg for seafood. read more

I took a group of 13 people to this restaurant on a Wednesday. The waitress service was great and the food was plentiful and delicious. Will definitely return when in the area. Had the combination platter and it was very tasty, Had leftovers and all 13 of us loved our food. read more

Outstanding food and great value! Shrimp boiled and fried were outstanding! Grilled salmon was more than excellent! King Crab Legs were outstanding! Salads, hush puppies were outrageously good and cabbage was excellent. The hush puppies were the best we've ever had. Overall a solid 4.5 out of 5.0 for our group of seven. We all voted to go back during our week of vacation at St Augustine Beach. Memo: Just FYI, the other poor reviews were totaling misrepresenting the food and value at this restaurant. Shame on you! Also the service was great 9/23/19 read more

We came here tonight and our waitress was her first day and she has been here since 10 this morning. My husbands seafood pasta was good but my grouper was 20 dollars and it was the tail and very thin. It tasted old and it took us 25 minutes to get our food. I said something to our waitress and she went back and talked to the owner. No allowance just said the grouper was small today Very disappointed won't be back. read more

One of my favorites, the coconut shrimp is wonderful here. Their hamburger is very nice, fish sandwiches, early bird specials, are very good and combination seafood platters are great as well. Waitresses have always been accommodating and friendly, even for large parties. read more

We were recommended this place as we are from out of town. We show up and said party of 9 and the older lady waitress said "you should have called first" then proceeded to the bar area where she dropped cups and broke glasses. Horrible customer service! Not where we spent our money! Walked to Hurricane instead and the waitress there was much nicer! read more

SUPER underwhelming. The food is absolutely mediocre. The New England clam chowder is obviously Campbell's, (you can basically taste the can in the soup) and the crab is also canned. I get the same crap at Winn-Dixie. The coleslaw is shredded lettuce in tartar sauce. Every seafood item is previously frozen, nothing is fresh and it is easy to tell by the taste. Went there twice. The first time the waitress was absolutely ridiculous, she forgot everything and was super weird. Was hoping this was just a bad first time. Went there last night and our waitress was good but the food was just trash. I'm not paying $70 for canned seafood at the beach ever again. read more

This place isn't fancy, they won't make you call ahead months in advance for a table in the back or give you portions the size of baby food and call it "trendy." No frills, just honestly good seafood with very reasonable prices; not to mention a very friendly staff. A bit out of the way location wise but worth it. I've had the popcorn shrimp platter every time I've gone and have always been pleased, served with hush puppies and two sides (I chose a sweet potato and French fries). You won't find a list of vegetarian/vegan options, that's not what this place is. They are just great at seafood, so why mess with anything else? read more

My family loved the Seafood Kitchen. We had the blacken Snapper, the crab legs, the fried shrimp and the soft shell crab along with a variety of sides. Everything was perfectly seasoned and so very delicious. I am so happy that we found this place. The service was as good as the food. This was my family's first visit to St. Augustine but it will not be our last. I am looking forward to visiting the Seafood Kitchen again! read more

Ordered take away. Flounder was delicious, but everything was floating in collard green juice. Hush puppies were ruined. Luckily, I ordered a baked potato which was wrapped in foil so it wasn't ruined, too. Very disappointed. read more

This was our first visit. The waitresses were very nice and knowledgeable. They happened to have a gumbo. They said its not something they usually do but they should consider putting it on the menu or doing it more often. It was pretty good. I was impressed. My husband and I also had the smoked fish dip. It was average but fine. We enjoyed it. We got the chilled seafood platter to share as well. There was shell in the oysters and crab meat. Which can kind of turn off your appetite some times. The corn was overcooked. But overall everything was good. read more

This place is amazing is all I can say. The red snapper sandwich is fantastic 10/10. I also had the red snapper dinner here and broccoli salad both very good. We tried the crab bites and hush puppies are great . I would highly recommend this place to anyone near it. read more

DELICIOUS. Both the blackened and fried shrimp here were awesome. Also the hushpuppies were very tasty. They seemed a little short staffed, but we were sat immediately and all of the food was correct and hot. I highly recommend. read more

We shared a combo for two (fried) and it was delicious! About $30. There were scallops, oysters, clams, shrimp, stuffed crabs, and fish! Everything was so good. It even comes w 4 sides. We got sweet potatoes and broccoli salad. We had a few shrimp and clams left over-We couldn't even eat the sides! We had leftovers to take home. Those were some of the best scallops I've ever had. The menus and table were slightly sticky and the service is kinda mom-n-pop. But if you want basic service with delicious inexpensive food-this is your spot! Not fancy but satisfying (This is the kind of place you're not afraid to take the kids! Or go in casual clothes!) read more

Always excellent. Better than the more famous more expensive seafood restaurants around. Never disappointed.

Just got into town late today and we tried this restaurant. I was disappointed on a few fronts, like no beer or wine, no balsamic vinegar for my salad, and soggy corn on the cob. The good news was that the prices were very reasonable and our server was nice. But with the plethora of great restaurants in St. Augustine I won't return to this one. read more

We've been in the Daytona Beach area with friends for several days, & the seafood has been phenomenal. So, today we're driving the Ormond Beach Loop & on up to St. Augustine. After looking @ reviews on Yelp, we decided to try Seafood Kitchen for lunch. This is exactly the kind of unassuming place with great food that we were looking for. They have an extensive menu, & our server Jenny was helpful with our choices & was an excellent server. We ordered onion rings to share. Oh, my: lightly breaded, crispy...best ever! SK has homemade sauces, & the pink one was perfect, with a little bite to it. Our meals included shrimp, crab legs, hush puppies, coleslaw, fries, clam chowder--without going into details, trust me that all of it was tasty & perfectly done. We were too full to have dessert--will definitely return when we're back here. read more

The food here is very disappointing. Tastes like it was frozen in a packaged and pulled out, put on a plate and warmed up. Not fresh at all! The waitress didn't ask how we liked it, probably because she could tell and knows the food is terrible. Wouldn't waste your money here. read more

Missy took great care of us and the food was equally as great. My better half had the clam strips and he's quite the clam critic but they exceeded his expectations...crispy and delish! Seafood kitchen also has some of the best fried oysters I've ever had. The shrimp is also very good. Fresh and delicious....love the fish decor here too (classic seafood kitchen style). Although they don't sell alcohol, you can bring your own and they furnish the cups....Go here...you won't regret it! read more

Seafood Kitchen - Fried shrimp/oyster combo with a sweet potato - Seafood Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

My wife and I ate Seafood Kitchen tonight and we were frankly underwhelmed. I wasn't looking for fancy - just was expecting with so many reviewers seem to agree on - good service, food and value. I feel like they fell short in every category. The waitress never introduced herself, welcomed us, or asked if we had been there before. Aren't we in the South? I didn't see the drink menu so I just ordered a glass of water with a lime (and it came with a lemon - not a big deal but it was a common theme throughout the meal). I started with the crab stew, which I was told was an awful lot like clam chowder...just with crab instead of clams. I was given a cup of clam chowder - that tasted like it came out of a can. For dinner I ordered the combo blackened chicken and broiled shrimp plate, with baked potato and macaroni and cheese. After a really long wait I got blackened chicken and shrimp which was very good (but not what I ordered) the potato was excellent (she never brought butter for my wife and I and no it wasn't on the table) and the macaroni and cheese tasted like Sysco pre made, not homemade. The waitress came over after we finished and brought the check, but I asked if we could have a slice of Key lime pie...it had more of a meringue consistency and very little flavor (probably Publix brand with cool whip) - one of the worst key lime pies I've had. Gosh I really wanted to love this place, but they really fell short in too many categories for me to give them more than 2 stars. read more

WOW! INCREDIBLE! "TREASURED GEM WORTH SEARCHING FOR". My mother-in-law, husband and myself had located this resturaunt on our iphones and decided to give it a try. We were driving in from Disney World (we are from Alabama) and had arrived to St. Augustine, Fl rather late that night. When we stopped the resturaunt had actually already closed. However, the owner happen to be outside and gave us some direction as to where to eat so late. His opinion was very unbiased and honest towards his local competition. Due to his direct and honest perspective I sensed real character and honesty. This particular encounter prompted me to tell my husband that we would return for lunch the next day solely based on the owner's help and obvious character. We returned to Seafood Kitchen around lunchtime the next day and man were we glad we did!! Our waitress, Brenda, was so friendly and helpful! She had a genuwine concern to make sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. She was also very patient while we asked tons of questions about the location as well as how food was prepared and her personal favorites. We felt we had found a little bit of Alabama's well-known southern hospitality in this resturaunt. It had such a homey and welcoming feel to the atmosphere and clearly reflected the owner, Brian's character. Even the owner made several points in coming out to ask our opinions as well as how our vacation was going. Did I mention he is also a great cook? The seafood has just the right amount of seasonings and the portions are HUGE!! Tender, hot baked potatoes! Large juicy shrimp! I personally enjoyed the broiled shrimp. They also have the BEST broccoli salad ever!! I have never had anything like it (the recipe is a secret so no you cannot make it yourself). The owner actually allowed me to try several varieties of seafood that I had some uncertainty about -ON THE HOUSE!!! I could go on and on about this place but honestly you just have to try it!! It is hard to find that kind of hospitality and genuwine care for people anywhere anymore, let alone people who go over and above to achieve satisfaction in their customers. Needless to say, we did not eat anywhere else our entire vacation!!! THANK YOU SEAFOOD KITCHEN, BRIAN, AND BRENDA!!! For not only being the highlight of our vacation, but a little peice of home out of state as well!!!! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for exceptional service, excellent food and at a price anyone could afford (especially considering the LARGE portions). WE WILL BE BACK!! THANKS GUYS!! Very Truly, Charyti read more

A friend and I were at the beach, and on the spur of the moment decided we wanted seafood. A quick phone search turned up "Seafood Kitchen" about a mile away. The restaurant was listed as being 'okay,' and one "$", so we went for it. It's not a very big establishment, nor very impressive from the outside. However, it's cute and clean inside, and the staff are friendly. The price was a bit more than we were expecting (I would say it's $$ rather than $), but the portions were generous. I was particularly impressed by the fact that you could chose whether your seafood would be grilled, blackened or fried. (Lots of seafood places fry the vast majority of their food.) I got the stuffed crab lunch (which you can order at night), which was great! The hush puppies were just right, the stuffing in the crab moist and delicious. The fries were perfect (I like very little salt). My friend got the coconut shrimp, which she also very much enjoyed. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who's looking for seafood. read more

Best seafood I've ever had!! Honestly I've only eat here twice. First time was 8 years ago while I was in town working and I loved it. Second time was a couple months ago when I came for a college softball game so I looked them up and went for supper. No restaurant is consistent anymore so I figured it might be different (different cooks make different food). I got the same thing that I got the first time the seafood pasta. I could not believe it was exactly the same. The pasta was cooked perfect, seafood cooked perfect and a light sauce. I will go here anytime I'm in town. read more

The servers of this restaurant do NOT wear face masks. I guess the kitchen staff does not either. I find it hard to understand why an independent owner would not want to protect their employees and their community customers. Had a great meal elsewhere and will continue to do so. read more

Amazing seafood, great sides. We have been camping next door for four days and have eaten there five times.

Being a visitor, After doing much research on where to eat, my girlfriend and I came here, disregarding all the negative reviews about service, boy was that a bad idea. There was a party of 3 in front of us. a 6 top was available and a booth. I suggested to the server who refused to sit us or the party in front at the 6 top, to separate it so both us and the party in front of us could be accommodated, they refused to help and left us standing while there were TWO tables available and one which could be easily separated. As a server we are trained to accommodate the needs of guests for the best possible experience so they can recommend the restaurant to people and so they can become regulars. Not here, I see why all the negative reviews are on there first hand unfortunately. Will never be back. read more

We were seated quickly, but there was quite a wait for a server. When asked the waitress bluntly told the hostess, "I'm not taking any more tables, I'm done". There was a girl cleaning the whole time we were there, but cleanliness was not a strong point. The table was not clean, and neither were the condiment holders. The waitress proceeded to malinger in the back and appeared to be counting her tips, a very friendly older woman approached us from the kitchen and took our order. The blue crab chowder was more like a soup, very thin, and had a vinegary aftertaste. The calamari was undercooked and rubbery. We shared the fried seafood platter for one, The crab cake was four stars both in presentation and taste, the shrimp was excellent, the oysters and scallops were undercooked and inedible. The fish and baked sweet potato with cinnamon butter were very good. The French fries were not over cooked. Might be better to visit for lunch. A later diner might want to reconsider. Next time we'll order just crab cakes. read more

Just ate at Seafood Kitchen again tonight. I grew up in Florida and live in Texas, and deliberately came here multiple times while on vacation because it beats any seafood I can get in central texas. I had the fresh flounder, grits and broccoli salad. You have a choice of fried, broiled or blackened and I had the flounder fried. It was some of the best fish I've had - because it was fresh it was flaky as you would expect. It was cooked just right and the breading was just right. In fact - though I usually like to use tartar sauce, I didn't use any sauce on this fish because I did not want to risk masking any of the good flavor. Grits go good with fish - in this case as a side. The broccoli salad had raisins and a sweet dressing and was very good. Normally I would not eat brocolli that was cold in this sort of a dish, but this tasted quite good - good enough to order again. read more

We have been regulars at Seafood Kitchen for almost 20 years! And do you know why? Their seafood and side dishes are consistently delicious, all delivered at a bargain price. Brian and his staff have provided great seafood for many years, ie, their fried shrimp and fried oysters are two of our favorites. People always talk about Osteen's shrimp, but I'm here to tell you that Seafood Kitchen's fried shrimp is every bit as good. My wife and I like our fried oysters and French fries cooked a little on the extra crispy side and Brian never fails to deliver it as ordered. I highly recommend going to Seafood Kitchen if you've never tried it. It is well worth it. Outstanding! read more

Came here for lunch today. The Minorcan clam chowder was delicious and iced tea was generously poured. I had the swordfish, my husband had the grouper. Both were fresh and delicious. I wish they had more healthy side options, the broccoli salad comes in a creamy sauce so it's high cal. Otherwise, this is a great option for a healthy meal and we will be back! read more

I love fried seafood! This place has the best. Take out or dine in. Oysters on the half shell aren't bad either.
