Ok, so I'm always the one reading reviews on Yelp and never leaving a review myself. But I was very pleasantly surprised by this cute little place! The food and service was excellent! I went with a friend for lunch and we were skeptical because they did not look busy at all. Go here!!!! We ordered the seafood combination platter for two, half fried, half blackened. It was delicious!! The seafood was fresh and the sides were that of your typical seafood type restaurant. If good seafood is what you're after, I highly recommend this over the local touristy trap restaurants. read more

I loved this place! I loved it so much that my family and I ate here 2 days in a row. Over our two days we tried the fried gator tail, local clam chowder, seafood platter, fried fish sandwich (flounder) and hushpuppies. It really seems like a place that locals go to and I like that. Having travelled throughout United States and the world. I've eaten in many places including third world countries and restaurants. I've found the worst food I've ever been served at the Seafood Kitchen in St Augustine. After two hours my stomach is still upset after eating only a portion of what I was served. Get the seafood combo half blackened and half fried. The scallops, shrimp, and oysters are excellent. Start with the broccoli salad (delicious). Everything is fairly priced and great portion sizes. This place it all going on, great food, great friendly staff, but their butter sucks. They have little plastic containers on the table with fake butter that does not even melt. If they would serve real butter especially with a baked potato, I would give this place 5 stars. So, take some butter with you, and you will have a wonderful meal. read more

We're visiting from out of town. In the past we have eaten here many times and have raved about the food. Unfortunately tonight's experience means we will never return and never recommend again. We were met at the door by a rude jerk who said our service dog was not allowed. We showed him our certification and he said that could have been bought off the internet. This is my 85 year old mother's dog who she depends on for hearing. He claimed the dog was an emotional support dog and not a service dog. He was so rude to us that my mom left in tears. We understand Florida law and know our rights. Hope his one customer thinks he's a big man for being an ass to an old woman. We have eaten at several restaurants and stayed at hotels that have been very accommodating. Ended up going to Conch House and had a wonderful experience and very welcomed. Seafood Kitchen violated ADA laws as well as Florida law concerning service dogs. read more

Been a while since my last visit. I once again found the seafood kitchen bright and welcoming. Service was quick and friendly. Food arrived in good time and was above average portions. I can't say I was over excited by the food, but I did not leave hungry or disappointed. It's a great family restaurant with reasonable prices. I'll stop by again when in town. read more

Very laid back low key local seafood place. Food is very cheap compared to some of the other local places. The blackened talapia was great. The I ly huge let down was the baked potatoe I had wasn't cooked long enough and was pretty awful . Worth a try ! read more

The Seafood Kitchen is usually our first stop when we come to St. Augustine Beach. It's usually the last place we eat too before heading home to KY. Great seafood at fair prices. I hate to do this but after today's visit I feel it's necessary. I had brought my service dog and decided to sit outside so I left her identification in the car. Florida and certain restaurants don't seem to understand the proper laws when it comes to service animals and how a verbal confirmation with the need of service is only required but I digress.... we ordered our food and it began to rain, no big deal but now it's pouring and I'm getting wet. Not great to eat in, so my friend and I decided to move inside. I was literally stopped at the door after explaining she was a service animal, her nature of service, and that I could provide proof. It wasn't enough, so I went to the car got soaked and showed her vest. My waitress still wouldn't let me inside. Not only is this illegal it's absolutely ridiculous. The bites of my calamari I did get to try weren't that great anyway and mostly tentacles. I didn't want to fight with the waitress any more (it's embarrassing) so we went over to Oasis where I was allowed to eat inside and not feel like an outcast because of my service animal. You guys need to inform your servers of the law before someone sues you or there's a more serious issue. read more

I was hoping for a good meal after a long day of travel. This restaurant was very close to our condo rental. We walk in and I ordered a lemonade. I sent it back because it was too tart, yuck, and got a diet cola. Then I ordered the crab burger for dinner. It was not very good, but I was hungry so I just tolerated it. Then I bit into a fish bone. Well, that was enough for me. I handed my wife our debit card and I took our grandson for a walk. Turns out he didn't like his food either. We got back to our condo, he then wanted a bowl of cereal, and I took a pill to keep from getting sick. And we went to this restaurant based on the good reviews it has. Delicious food! Great service ! Definitely recommend the Crab legs. The platter for two was very generous, four of us ate and were stuffed!

Food was very good, my wife and I both had the grouper. I had it as a blackened sandwich with the broccoli slaw as a side along with the rice and beans side. All sides were unique and delicious. My wife had the broiled groper entree with rice and beans and baked potato as her sides. The fish for both dishes was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Very happy with the meal overall. Only con to the experience was the staff and their ability to keep up with dinner rush. We sat for quite a whil, more than thirty minutes, and hoped the food would be worth the wait and it was. read more

The food was decent but there was a difference in the prices online and what we ended up paying. Fast service and a good atmosphere though!

Decent value but quality is still somewhat lacking, even though this is one of the cheapest seafood joints within miles. Fried items are ok. Early bird specials are a decent deal. Sides are acceptable but mac and cheese will gag you. Calamari is borderline edible. Stick with the lunch portions and save your big $$$ for better quality somewhere else. It's about value here, not quality per say. read more

The food is ok, nothing to rave about but its very well priced. We can eat there for around $20-25 dollars for a family of three. The place burned down a few years back and when they re-opened everyone seemed ecstatic. The cook in this kitchen is terrific. Had grouper that was perfectly fresh and perfectly cooked. One of us had broiled, the other fried ( had a light delicate coating). Entrees come with two sides, choice of potatoes or mac n cheese, broccoli salad or coleslaw, and three delicious small hushpuppies. I've never liked hush puppies, but these were delicious. All this and the prices are extremely reasonable. Absolute find of a place. Go without hesitation to this unpretentious, immaculate little kitchen. You won't be sorry. read more

Ordered the blackened mahi-mahi and shrimp-scallop place. It was a decent, basic seafood place. The seafood was fresh, which is a statement worth mentioning at places firther inland, but not neccesarily on the coast. Many of the side dishes were slathered with mayo. Food was good but service was horrible. We had a young girl as are waitress and she had ever excuse reason why she couldn't refill our tea, asking to bring sauce that comes with our food, get our soups, 2 out of three soups that was orderd was brought to the table upon asking for it and u remind her that I didn't get my soup. Her excuse was she couldn't bc I half to wait on other tables. Uhmm nooo if 3 ppl in our party orders soup u only bring 2 and u remind her that I didn't get my soup the excuse was half to wait on the other tables is not the right answer, correct answer was bring out all three soups, instead of making a excuse why couldn't bc u really forgot. When we finally got our tea refilled she poured one of the teas from the opposite side and instead of handing it back she sat it down on same side she poured tea and the left. List goes on we complained to manager and instead of I will talk to her or something he defends her and that she is a good waitress. Oh among other problems that we were having, it was my parents Anniversary and a couple in our party wanted to pay for their meal. I don't know if I just got a bad batch or the food is consistently this awful, but I left the restaurant feeling sick. I ordered sweet tea, gator tail, frog legs, fries, coleslaw and collared greens; I only liked the collared greens, but be prepared for extreme bacon flavor. The coleslaw was too heavy on the mayo, the alligator was more batter than meat and tasted strange, and the frog legs had the consistency and taste of raw chicken that had been thrown into a pot of water and left there until it was starting to go bad, and then thrown in the fryer. I never got my fries, and the sweet tea was hardly sweet. I was so excited by the good reviews and I'm very disappointed that it wasn't as good for me. read more

this place is amazing. wholesome salads the best we tried. it restored the faith in restaurants for husband . a local recommended this place to us while visiting the area. we visited the restaurant twice. it was that good !! and the prices are very reasonable!! will definitely be back when visiting st augustine. read more
