We just returned from what should have been a nice dinner and are still trying to wash the taste…read moreout of our mouths. From bow to stern (nautical theme here) this was just a bad experience across the board! Our waiter had zero personality and acted as if he really didn't want to be there, the food was bad, and the cost was far more than the value provided. A rainy Sunday night and not very crowded - maybe 4 - 5 tables, but somehow our food managed to get lost in the kitchen and we waited way too long for food that was (in my case) completely inedible. My wife ordered the fresh catch halibut dinner grilled, and I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich. Both entrees were heavily salted; my wife tried to wipe the seasoning off her filet, which was at least decent sized. My sandwich contained the thinnest, saltiest piece of fish I'd ever been served, and I only managed a couple bites before giving up. My wife's filet wasn't fully cooked, and since we weren't eating sushi-grade fish, my wife was concerned about that. When she told our waiter he barely glanced at her plate and his response was "That's cooked. Some people are just finicky about the texture." "Finicky??" Are you sh**ing me?? How about saying "I'm sorry, would you like me to have it cooked more?" She also pointed at my sandwich and said that it was so salty I couldn't eat it, and all he said was "I'll be back." At least he didn't tell me I was being "finicky". The manager came over shortly after and explained that our server told him we weren't pleased with our meal. My wife explained the issues and his response "Too salty? I know who that is. One of our guys over-salts a lot. I'll talk to him." He then apologized and offered to get us something else, but I declined and said I was done. He vaguely pointed at our food and said he would "discount it". While we waited for the bill my wife took what was left of her fish to the house cat sitting on the patio, and the cat wouldn't even eat it! I'm sorry Mr manager, but if you know that one of your employees has issues with preparing food correctly... either educate them or replace them! Don't apologize and admit you're aware of bad food coming out of your kitchen! And then the topper - our bill came and a whopping $13.50 was discounted from almost $90! He didn't even take off the full cost of my sandwich which was still sitting on my plate! We usually try to give benefit of the doubt to restaurants, but this experience was bad enough that we both agreed we will NOT return. This is a prime example of why zero stars should be allowed!

We chose…read morethe outdoor seating which is self seated, first come first served, because the inside was super loud (in a fun, vibrant way) but I wanted a quieter area. The deck is covered and there are fans and windows so it did not get hot. The food was great! Bang bang shrimp wasn't spicy at all, had a nice tangy flavor, and the shrimp was tasted super fresh. The crab bisque fries were crispy and the bisque tasty. The lobster ravioli was SO good. I usually do not like cheese with seafood but this worked perfectly. It was creamy, savory, slightly sweet from the crab and shrimp cheese sauce it comes in which perfectly complemented the very stuffed lobster ravioli. The fish and wedges were really good too. Fish was meaty and crispy, wedges tasted roasted instead of fried and the coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and sweet. As a bonus, the tartar sauce was good too. Our server (Josh?) was very attentive, polite, friendly and quick. The menu isn't huge but I would come back if I'm in the area again. There are some coupons available as well for lunch in those travel pamphlets at the hotels.

Now that we've officially moved here, we've been back about three more times, and somehow I love it more every time. If you enjoy seafood and New Orleans-style food, this is definitely a place to put on your St. Augustine list! The service has always been good, the drinks are great, and yes, there's usually a wait, but honestly, it goes by pretty quickly. We typically grab a drink and hang outside while we wait for our buzzer to go off, which makes the wait feel much more enjoyable. I have a few favorites here that I find myself coming back to: Redfish Alexandria, absolutely delicious and one of my favorites. Andouille Crusted Grouper , another standout if you're looking for something flavorful and seafood-focused. My first choice now that the low country pasta isn't available Crab Cakes, always a good choice for appetizer. Low Country Pasta, this was a special during their Mardi Gras menu, and I was SO SAD to find out it wasn't a regular menu item because I would order this all the time! My first choice And please save room for dessert because the fried Oreos are a MUST-TRY! For drinks, you really can't go wrong, we've had a few of their signature drinks, but the Cucumber Martini was one of my favorites. Refreshing, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering! The restrooms are conveniently located both upstairs and downstairs. Parking in this part of St. Augustine can be a little difficult, but that's pretty typical for the area and definitely wouldn't stop me from coming here. Overall, Harry's has become one of those places we're happy to keep coming back to. Great food, fun atmosphere, good drinks, and plenty of New Orleans-inspired seafood dishes to choose from. We appreciated the old-school St. Augustine Southern hospitality that has been lost since the inevitable growth of the area. You definitely can't go wrong with their Fried Shrimp and Chicken Wings (loved the flavors of that buttery Garlic Parm)! Both seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ample outside seating steps away from the beach, feeling the breeze off of the Atlantic Ocean, a truly laid-back atmosphere, sunburnt tourist watching and counting all the Jeeps heading out to brave the soft sand while enjoying an ice cold beer or sweet tea...so priceless.

She started us out with baked oysters and they were good, but it was too much bacon and cheese for me personally. It overwhelmed the oyster flavor, but if you're trying oysters for the first time or wanna please a picky group then these are good. My daughter got the stuffed flounder with corn casserole as we called it, as her side. It was delicious! Probably the best thing ordered! Tacos and kids grilled fish was great too! Definitely a solid amount of fish nuggets in the taco. The fries were some of the best ive ever had. For the seafood feast, we ordered scampi style and it was good, but it reminded me of a clam sauce style, not really buttery and garlicky. It was still good, but what disappointed me was the melted plastic bag served at the table. It was difficult to open, even our server had trouble opening. Idk why everyone loves serving food in plastic bags. It's sooo hot from the steam that plastic leaches into the food. I don't get the infatuation with this, unless you're ordering to go. The fans upstairs are a nice and necessary touch and not too hot up there, despite being summer in July. I would go back and order the stuffed flounder again! Seriously, that was the best thing we ordered. Ashley was johnny on the spot too!

Started with the New England clam chowder. Really good. Not thick, which I actually liked, but very tasty and loaded with clams. They farm their own clams, so that tracks. I had the blackened mahi sandwich with fries. Cooked nice. My only complaint is it could have used more blackening seasoning. Still good though. The house made pickles were tasty and the bread was good, which matters more on a fish sandwich than people think. Deb had the lobster scampi, also blackened. She said it was okay but needed more spice too. So that was a pattern, not a one-off. Worth knowing before you go: a lot of the menu is market price, including the boils and the fresh catch, so ask. There is also a chalkboard with the catches of the day that is worth looking at before you order off the printed menu. Rock lobster was on it the day we were there. Good stop. The chowder alone is worth pulling in for. Just ask them to go a little heavier on the blackening.
