Delicious seafood. Large portions. This is not a fancy restaurant but the service and food Is exceptional. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed read more

Very good seafood and fast service!!! Walking distance from condo made it very convenient

Staff didn't wear masks and no social distancing. Ruined what would have been a good blackened grouper!

The food is decent but the service is poor. We were there a couple years ago and had bad service but tried it again today. It was just as bad. Everyone is running around chaotically, yet getting drinks and food took forever. Then the waitress kept complaining about how busy she was to us. We won't go back again. read more

Love their broccoli salad! Great seafood and great prices. We always plan to eat with them a couple of times while on vacation.

Excellent! My lady and I shared the platter for one and it was plenty. We had it all fried. They did a great job, lightly fried and the batter was not to heavy. We will be back. read more

Looks are deceiving for this place. It looks like a very basic kitchen restaurant but the food was delicious! We ordered the shrimp and scallops. They served a good portion of both the shrimp and scallops with a choice of 2 sides. The scallops were large and very tender. The shrimp were medium size and very tasty! Definitely recommend this place! read more

This restaurant doesn't look special but looks really can be deceiving. First let me recognize that the staff was outstandingly friendly and welcoming. So how about the food? Outstandingly delicious, as well. Yes, it is simple food but done really well. The seafood was fresh and tasty. My brother started with oysters and thought they were tasty. He moved on the to fried shrimp and and calm strips. His wife had broiled fish and scallops which she announced was delicious. I had fried shrimp and steak. All of the fried seafood was lightly battered and quickly fried, not greasy at all. My steak was simply prepared and done to order. Mom had a whole fried snapper that reminded her of home (Panama) and brought tears to her eyes, it was that good. We will return! read more

This is a great place for takeout! The fried shrimp was on point and the sides were Southern style and spectacular on their own! They even made some special requests happen for us. Thank you Seafood Kitchen for a delicious quarantine meal! read more

I am local, Everything at Seafood Kitchen is fresh. Quality, quantity, taste & price is the best in town. The restaurant is clean but not fancy, the staff is friendly, & you can't go wrong with this choice. read more

Boiled shrimp! Also had fresh grouper and excellent broccoli salad! While not anything extraordinary in the setting, the food and service is superb! Our friendly waitress, Sissy, was helpful and quick! read more

Seafood Kitchen - Seafood Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

After our first visit to Seafood Kitchen last year, we added it to our go-to list of restaurants in St. Augustine. The food is always good- I enjoyed a blackened tilapia and fried shrimp combo for the "early bird special" price of just $10. My biggest complaint is that I had to ask twice to get one of the sides I had ordered. By the time I got it, I had already finished my meal. Overall, though, it was a good experience with tasty food and friendly service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a casual and affordable place to eat. read more

Seafood Kitchen - Blackened tilapia and fried shrimp with sweet potato and hush puppies - Seafood Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

No alcohol license? No beer or wine. Food was overpriced and just not that great. Salad was limp. Fish tastes strange. No explanation that sides cost extra. We were originally charged more than our meal cost. read more

Staff were all pleasant and blackened (locally caught) flounder was delicious. We'll be going back.

The service was great. Very friendly staff. We were definitely misguided on the quality. Nothing that we ordered appeared as what we've had in the past. The taste was bland and if you're familiar with crab cakes or crab meat in general prepare to have a thawed out lump of cold meat on your plate when you order the crab platter. I have a strong feeling that the swordfish might not have been as advertised. I'm very fond of the said cold blooded creature of the sea. It was unlike any that I've had in the past. I can see why others rate this establishment slightly higher. It just didn't par with my group. read more

It says there's take out but we have called about. 50 times. Maybe they'll answer eventually.

Neat place but doesn't look like much on outside. We love their cooked to order hush puppy's and peel & eat shrimp but have never had anything that wasn't good. read more

Ok, so this is where the locals eat, and if you visit the Seafood Kitchen, you'll know why. This is St Augustine's best kept secret. It puzzles me why someone would wait 2+ hours for frozen seafood at the place up the road when you can have fresh seafood right here. Any of the items on the menu can be ordered blackened, broiled, or fried. Both of us ordered the combo platter, mine fried, hers blackened. Everything on the plate was delicious (even the hush puppies). read more

Slowly going a bit downhill. The clam chowder was extremely watery compared to what it normally used to be. The green beans was a large serving but overcooked and Limp not crispy like they should be. The baked potato with good and a nice size and of course the waitstaff there is always friendly and very attentive to your needs. My partners seafood platter seem to be a smaller portion than what we have had the past few times we have been in there. read more

This was the best seafood of the trip. Fried shrimp are all you can eat and wonderfully juicy. I got a combo plate with fried oysters and scallops. they were good but not as good as the shrimp. Seafood options are fresh fish, they had Mahi Mahi, Flounder and Tilapia? when I was there. Shrimp, oysters, scallops and maybe another option or 2. You can get anything fried, blackened our broiled. All the fired food comes from peanut oil. They have chilled jug red and white wine and Bud on tap as well a a few other mainstream beers in bottles. Incredible deal for fresh (not frozen) seafood. read more

Love this place. We come here at least once every vacation. We've tried the smoked fish dip, peel and eat shrimp, crab legs, broccoli salad, crab stew, and the crab burger. Have loved it all. read more

Loved the food and prices at this restaurant. We had the seafood platter for two. It was a lot of food. We brought some home, but we might eat less than others since we are seniors. read more

Seafood Kitchen - Broccoli salad - Seafood Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

This is basically a diner specializing in fried seafood, popular with seniors. We last visited (under protest) a few years ago, in their old location. The new one is still completely lacking in atmosphere, but is clean and tidy. Last time, all the fried food, including chicken strips, tasted like fish; not anymore. After reading the other reviews, I ordered the broiled shrip and flounder, with a sweet potato instead of fries. It was really good. My husband tried the fried shrimp, which also seemed quite fresh. We will no longer fight it if Grandma wants us to return. Both the food and dining room have improved. It's true you cannot beat the prices; I would prefer to pay a little more to dine in a place with more atmosphere. read more

Came here on a vacation trip to St. Augustine. Very impresses at how fresh the seafood is. Deep fried seafood might mot be the highest level of "gourmet", but it's delicious all the same. Service was not the best, our food didn't all arrive at the same time, we actually had to pick at the side dish for a while before the actual entree arrived. It didn't really matter tho, great food all the same read more

We had a party of eleven. Decor is roadside acceptable. Bathrooms were acceptable. Dining room was clean and locals were present, always a good sign. First the bad; the sides are all southern classic, nothing to write home about, but there were no complaints. The green beans have a heavy pork flavor and pork pieces. The good: Prompt and reasonable arrival of all of our food for a table of eleven. Baked potatoes were firm and well cooked. Tartar Sauce and cocktail sauce were home made and delicious. I think our entire party ordered everything fried, so I can't speak to their broiled technique. Fish was firm and fresh. The shrimp was tender, juicy and well seasoned. The frog legs were fresh and tender, breaded-bone on. The cheese sticks were not home made, but they were delicious The hush puppies were fresh and to die for. The onion rings were homemade, large and delicious. Various members of our party went back. read more

We were in Jacksonville Beach for a family reunion. Based on the recommendation of a family member who lives there, we gave the Seafood Kitchen a try. We were not disappointed. It is slightly hidden on the back side of a small strip mall. It is the kind of place frequented by locals. The server was friendly and joked and kidded with us and the rest of the patrons. This is not a large place, maybe a dozen tables total. I had the lump crab cakes which were outstanding. I could actually taste the crab and not just breading. And if you don't like everything fried you could follow my wife's example and try the crab salad. This was a generous serving of crab meat on a bed of lettuce. My son, who had joined us, had the fish and chips, This was an enormous piece of fish and a large serving of fries. They even offer burgers and hotdogs for people, like may granddaughter, who don't like fish. Get out your GPS and give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

We had the seafood platter for 2. Very good but only 4 oysters, lots of fried clams, and mostly fried shrimp. The fried fish was Talipia which had an ok flavor. I really was hoping for catfish. The hush puppies are amazing. The food is good but bland meaning no seasoning which is great if you are a cardiac patient. I'm not so I would have loved some seasoning. All that being said, would I go back? Absolutely! I would not order the calamari though. It was way too bland and would have been much better with chili sauce and not marinara. Service was great and waitress was friendly but she didn't tell us they had a lobster special. read more

Most everybody knows whenever you see a lot of seniors in a restaurant it's because they're the locals that know the good spots. The seafood is great and there is a surprising number of options with great deals and even a giant seafood platter for two which me and my wife loved. Didn't even come close to finishing it and the price was so good we couldn't believe the portion size. Friendly staff and crosswords on the tables make it a great atmosphere and you don't even feel the wait. Been here a few times and will be back. read more

Went there for lunch based on a recommendation. If you want fresh seafood and love fried foods, this is the place to be. We had the flounder and shrimp which was lightly battered served with cole slaw, fries and hush puppies. The shrimp was soooo tender and sweet and not chewy like how some fried places cook them. The flounder was delicate and flaky. The scallops were just ok. The least favorite was the conch fritter, which only had very very little pieces of conch buried within the breading. Retrospect it was a lot of fried food and should have opted for broiled (not a huge fan of fried). It was good none the less. I can't say this enough, at least get shrimp with whatever you order. read more

I was surprised to see this place doesn't have 5 stars! My aunt took me here for lunch, and they have the most reasonably priced lunch and dinner options. I got the deviled crab, and it was awesome! We also got some raw oysters, and they were HUGE. If they have the seafood gumbo that day, GET IT. No frills but great service! We had the nicest waitress. read more

Walked in on vacation to celebrate my birthday with a great sounding seafood restaurant. After being looked up and down with a sneer, was told to sit anywhere and was then promptly ignored! Sat there several minutes being ignored. We then left. Very disappointed! read more

Good food for a great price. The inside was nothing fancy but it was clean and nicely decorated. It's a local favorite. Fried shrimp was excellent with coleslaw and green beans. The food was more than enough and the hush puppies were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going again. read more

Went here because pretty much every place had long lines. Walked in and the waitress instead of seating us told us curtly to go to the lady at the cash register and she would help us. The lady at the cash register mumbled something to the effect she couldn't understand why the waitress couldn't seat us. We finally got seated. Floor was filthy. The tables had grooves in them and when the condensation on the water glasses ran off it ran down the grooves and dripped on our shoes. We were served quickly. Anything we got that was fried was tasty but if it wasn't fried it had no flavor. Fried crab appetizers were good. Hubby got steak and blackened shrimp. He said it tasted good although the steak was supposed to be medium well and half was medium well and the other half was rare. My son and I got shrimp scampi which consisted of way overdone tasteless rubbery shrimp in a pool of watery-butter noodles. The fried hush puppies were good. On top of this all our plates were cracked or chipped. All in all I'd say $73 for diner food was way overpriced and disappointing. Check out the fish sandwich at McDonalds down the street. I can guarantee you it has more flavor and probably better/cleaner service. read more

I was so satisfied with my meal. Fried shrimp, broccoli salad, hush puppies and sweet potato were perfect. My husband has fried clams strips, broccoli salad and French fries. Also couldn't ask for a better meal. read more

Good find on a whim during a family trip. This is a family-run, no frills, non-fuss, reasonable hole in the wall spot with fresh seafood and friendly service. Can get your seafood broiled, friend, or blackened. Sides are okay but the seafood definitely is the star of the plate. Had the broiled shrimp and scallops platter with two sides and hush puppies. Seafood was cooked perfect, hush puppies were good with a onion flavor. Wife had the Grouper sandwich which was huge and disappeared quick. Son 1 had a steak, again a large piece, cooked to order. Would definitely stop back again while in town. read more

Looked for something close and reasonable. Strip mall location.. Server was great, not just good..Almost 5 pm, ordering from lunch menu was allowed.. I got the fried oysters sweet potatoe and coleslaw. Was 10.99. My better half got fried shrimp.. she could have had blackened . Good was very good. We were early so was quiet.
