Ate at the new location of Purple Olive. Had yo sit at the bar but the bartender was good. We ordered the roasted olives, a shrimp curry soup and the shirt ribs. The olives were great as was the short rib. The soup was a tad too fishy.

Super! Super! Super! Why? It was a wonderful experience. I had a party of eleven and anticipated all kinds of issues. We did not have one. Our waitress was patient, friendly and awesome. Our drinks were creative, fun, and yummy. I am an ole Gypsy customer and I loved the homage it paid to both Gypsy and Pape! Tip: MAKE RESERVATIONS. It's a hopping place.

OUTSTANDING!!!! Inside was like a house full of family, just my cup of tea. Our waitress was EXCELLENT big shout out to 'Charyl B'. We started with drinks I ordered a Carpineto Rosso, Coconut Cocktail, Shirley Temple. Everything was great! Dishes ordered were a kids mac n cheese (homemade ) it was the best mac n cheese ever!! Best we have tried anywhere it was so buttery. Next dish was a kids chicken parmesan noodles looked to be pappardelle noodles. The chicken was cooked to perfection, suoer juicey. Perfect crust up top, sauce was delicious, not salty just super yummy. Noodles were wonderful. Lastly I got the sesame crusted tofu; it was perfect and had a crunch not soggy. It came on top of a bed of jasmine rice and onions. That was delicious. We ordered a creme brulee and I was happy they had coffee. Now for prices it was great! For food quality, portion size, only $75 with cash $78 with card. I love the cash method. Here are my scorings of everything: Carpineto Rosso 9/10 Coconut Mocktail 8/10 Shirley Temple 10/10 Kids Mac n Cheese 10/10 Kids Chicken Parmesan 10/10 Sesame Crusted Tofu 10/10 Creme Brulee 6/10 Coffee 10/10 Amazing spot I'll be back fo try some other menu items like the short rib over mashed potatoes I also love the kids menu it is priced well for portion and quality. Excellent job, Purple Olive we enjoyed ourselves.

Spent the weekend in St Augustine area with some family and she likes this place so we went for dinner, It was more of a higher end nice for a date night or first date kind of place. Great service. Nice portions nice looking place in a strip mall. Next our to a pizza place and a Hurricanes grill, We went with the Ahi Tuna dinner with was tasty and fresh Also went with the Paella seafood with chicken and sausage. Unfortunately they were out of clams so non in the meal only muscles and shrimp. chicken and fish. and Chopped up sausage. Could not tell what kind. Not much flavor in the pallela but the Ahi Tuna was great! We started with a shrimp bisque just ok needed more shrimp but tasty and a nice salad.

Yummy drink. Sorry, don't remember the name.

Food was good. Party of four and we all liked our dinners. Think the eggplant was the favorite. Big portions. Service was attentive and friendly. We will be back.

They moved to a free-standing building, atmosphere wasn't that great, not enough parking and their food was nothing yo write home about.

Vegan review: Things…read moreare clearly labeled, there are a few options, environment is lovely. I had maybe the most bibimbap of my life here, and that includes contenders from a number of restaurants in the Atlanta area. It was truly perfect. $8 for adding tofu (maybe 1/4 block lmao) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen financially, but hey it's a tourist area and it was absolutely made with skill & care, so I wasn't even mad. Seriously, I wanted to hug whoever cooked it. It is so worth it. Everyone else at my table was thrilled with what they got - burrata sandwiches and a fish sandwich. Not a good beer selection, it's very cocktail focused. Not my thing but yeah I will absolutely be back anytime I am in this wonderful city. This is not one to skip

I wanted to love Forgotten Tonic because the menu looked unique, but unfortunately this was one of…read morethe most disappointing dining experiences we've had in St. Augustine. First, the seating. The tables are unusually tall, making us feel like little kids trying to sit at the adults' table. It wasn't comfortable for anyone in our group. Then there were the lights. They continuously blinked above our table, and it was so distracting that we asked to move. Unfortunately, the second table had the same issue. I know St. Augustine is famous for its ghosts, but I wasn't expecting them to be playing with the lights at 7:00 p.m. while the sun was still shining! The biggest frustration was ordering. We were told menu items could be modified, but after placing our order the server kept returning one item at a time to tell us they actually couldn't make the requested changes. It would have been much better to know that before ordering. The pickle appetizer was another disappointment. Based on the description, I expected a pickle-forward appetizer. Instead, it was mostly kimchi, pickled onions, and other pickled vegetables with only five slices of actual pickles. I honestly don't have the words to describe how disappointing that dish was. I was also excited to try the tzatziki green beans, but the crisp pickled green beans tasted more like fermented green sticks than an enjoyable side dish. The baked Brie arrived with what I initially thought was melted cheese inside the croissant, but it turned out to be undercooked raw dough. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had just taken a bite of raw dough. I actually started feeling sick before we even left the restaurant. My younger son ordered the house root beer, which tasted extremely watered down. He also had the pasta with added grilled chicken, but the chicken was dark meat, overly shiny, and completely unappetizing to him. I ordered the non-alcoholic Velvet Slippers mocktail. One sip was enough--I honestly can't find the words to describe how unpleasant it tasted. My friend ordered the steak sandwich and requested the peppers be left off. After ordering, she was told they couldn't accommodate that request, so she had to pick the peppers off herself and still didn't enjoy the sandwich. My older son ordered the lamb sirloin. Even though lamb is often served medium-rare, this was so rare it looked like it was still bleating. We paid our bill before dessert because my stomach was already upset. I ended up making one last stop in the restroom before catching up with my family, who were already halfway down the street, ready to forget Forgotten Tonic. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. Between the uncomfortable seating, blinking lights, inability to accommodate simple modifications, disappointing food, and getting sick before leaving the restaurant, we won't be returning.

It saddens me to write this review of a restaurant with so many positive reviews, but sadly this…read morerestaurant missed on just about all of the food that we got. The service was pretty good, I can admit, however even that could've been better. We got started with our evening with a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. The house arancini was chicken stuffed, which we were only told about after we ordered the dish. Sadly, the chicken pieces were large and there was just not enough cheese to really make this dish work - nor enough sauce. I even got a piece of bone in my arancini, which just ruined my appetite. We then had decided on the chicken parm for the main course (which later we realized was rather similar to the arancini). The first chicken parm piece that was got was rather large in size, however as we cut into the dish we noticed that half of the meat was still pink and cold to the touch. We showed our waiter, and instead of treating us with some empathy, we were told that "well its not our fault, but I've been trying to tell the guys in the back to pound the meat before cooking it." We were given another piece of chicken, and it was only slightly better than the first piece, but we ate a few bites and called it an evening. It's too bad, I'd be willing to try this place out for other dishes but I don't know if I'll choose this place again, knowing there are other options nearby. The best part of the evening was the ambiance and the wine, so maybe a happy hour in the future is in order.

We had a reservation and they sat us right away. Reservations are usually required since they get full real quick. The server was kind and explained the menu and meal service to us. We started with specialty cocktails. Everything is hand made and fresh. You can taste the difference. We got some appetizers. Personally, my favorite was the yucca with the trio of dipping sauces. Each sauce was better than the last, and I wanted to continue eating each one long after it was done. The octopus was delicate and melted in your mouth. The flavor combos in the volcano dish were so wonderful. It was like chips and dip. I was most excited for my meal. The pesto pasta with the hanger steak. EVERY.THING.WAS.AMAZING in this dish. I was savoring each bite. Getting sad when I was reaching the end. The pesto was packed with flavor. Creamy and aromatic. The hanger steak?! Oh boy... perfectly cooked. Juicy. Melted in your mouth. I wanted a lot more of that. What a great piece of meat. I was reallllly looking forward to dessert. And it did not disappoint! I got the s'mores dessert. I love s'mores everything. And this was an elevated s'mores like I never had before. The presentation was WOW. The smore was in a bag that they lit on fire at the table. The fire charred the marshmallow on top perfectly. The Carmel on top of the delegate shortbeard was melt in your mouth. Those shortbeard cookies were incredible. Buttery and crumbly. Perfect. The strawberry compote to mix with it was fresh and bursting with flavor. All the flavors melding together to light your taste buds on fire! I would LOVE to return and try some more items. We had a wonderful experience!

Unfortunately the weather decided otherwise. The weather was terrible and the rooftop closed. We opted to continue with our evening as one of our friends lives in Vilano. I had visited the original restaurant many moons ago but was looking forward to the new location despite it being in a hotel. I am a vegetarian and the options for those are very limited. And I get it. It's a steakhouse. My friends all love steaks. Between the four in our party we had the bread which was out of this world and we ended up ordering a second order, the goat cheese terrine which was tasty, chopped Salad minus the bacon was delicious,Caesar salad for one lady, the mashed potatoes and they were not great, the seasonal vegetables and those were awesome, the Brussel sprouts which were very good but a skimpy portion, a filet steak review was it was ok, steak mofongo and review was ok, and lastly the vegetable pasta and again review was ok. I personally just had the sides as I hate onion and I could not get a vegetarian pasta without onion. The pros are everyone on the staff was wonderful! Bartenders, our server Jonny, hostess, valet guys, etc. The cons are the chairs are cheap and uncomfortable, the space is dressed up a bit for a hotel but still a hotel restaurant, some of the patrons had on shorts and ball caps. For the menu prices a dress code should be enforced and more comfortable seating available. I still want to check out the sunset rooftop and the bread is worth another trip. Other than that, I have other places in SA I lean toward.
