I don't usually re-review places, but this spot more than deserves the extra credit. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and book a resy--you'll see why it has all the hype. They've even added weekend brunch, which I cannot wait to try next visit! Pro tip: if you spot something new on the menu, go for it. I did, and every bite was a win. The Japanese-inspired ceviche was a knockout--layered with flavors and textures that I could honestly eat this dish every single day. dessert? Game changer. I've never been big on tres leches, but their white chocolate version completely won me over. Dare I say, I may have liked it even more than my former go-to, the s'mores on fire. Both are must-trys, so definitely save room for dessert! Remember there are only so many tables in the restaurant so if you are looking to book peak weekend time slots, please reserve well in advance. Llama's instagram page has all of their latest updates on brunch, new menu items, etc. I usually glance at their insta for a heads up of any new items I want to try. Keep an eye out for yourself.

My first time visit the wonderful Llama Restaurant was such an amazing time! The interior was ever so relaxing, comfortable and the dining area was filled with happy customers. From my passion fruit mocktail, to the appetizers then the entree followed by the dessert trio extravaganza...Ohhhh Myyyyy...Deliciosostyle...Up, down and all around! The amazing staff were extremely attentive and welcoming from my arrival all the way to my departure. Making me feel right at home and wanting to return again very soon. Special shoutout to our server extraordinaire, Kendall for your hospitality and helping make our dining experience a truly memorable one. When visiting Saint Augustine, don't hesitate to make reservations and visit this one of a kind restaurant. Hopefully we'll see eachother there!

We came to this restaurant on our last night in St Augustine, the restaurant is a small quaint feeling, with room enough room between tables. The host took us to our seat and gave us the menu, very cute soft leather looking book. Then we were greeted by the waitress which ask if we had been there before, our friends had already been and they had gotten a good experience. We started with the drinks, I had the maracuya mismosa which had a great tart taste mixed with mango and the crisp of the prosecco. On the table there was baked sweet potato crisp chips with chanca which are Peruvian corn like chips. We ordered the appetizers and the entree at the same time as they take all orders at the time since everything is prepared fresh. For the appetizers we had the Pulpo which is octopus it came in a form of a gazpacho thinly sliced, very tender that melted in your mouth along with a little purple sauce that kicked it up a notch to perfection . After our appetizers our waitress came by and drop off a delicious palate cleanser to sip on before your entree comes out. Note that each dish has a wonderful presentation. We ordered the Mar y Tierra (surf and turf). This is a tender hanger steak with shrimp, pasta, and fresh vegetables. We also ordered Ceviche Classico this is a traditional serving of Ceviche with sweet potatoes, crispy chulpe corn, giant Andean corn, Leche de Tigre, topped with purple onions. My husband got the Tallarines Verdes a hanger steak which was super tender and a pappardelle pasta in a pesto cream finished with their limo pepper soy glaze it was delicious. Reservations are highly recommended. Pricing is a bit higher than normal but the overall experience is worth it. This is a must try if you are ever in St. Augustine.

Chocolate dessert part of the 4 course chef special

Incredible experience for foodies! We did the 4 course chef special and every bite was as memorable as the next. The chef sourced ingredients all over the world. Kendall was so kind and gave us great recommendations for our vacation. They also offer wine pairing for the special but we did not alcoholic drinks that were just as tasty. The portions were large so we had plenty of leftovers. Keep in mind there are 10 ish tables so make sure to make a reservation. The cherry on top was the bidets in the bathroom. Make sure you come here on your last night of vacation otherwise everywhere else will disappoint ;)

Eating at Llama was a great experience. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The service was exceptional, I wish I remembered the girls name to give her a personal shoutout, but she was very helpful in ordering. Ambiance is intimate and cozy, which was great for our double date to be able to catch up and hear each other.

Mar Y Tierra Surf & Turf Tagliatelle Pasta (without shrimp)

I had a wonderful experience. We arrived slightly early for our reservation and got to wait at the bar and order a drink. I got the Passion Mimosa, it was a very balanced and elevated version of a passion fruit mimosa that I really enjoyed. When we sat we were given a nice snack of roasted Peruvian nuts of some sort and plantains. Gabriel, our server, recommended the Ceviche Lima. It was really fun hearing the story behind the dish and it was incredibley fresh, I personally loved the sweet potato in this dish as well as the slight heat from the peppers. Before our entrees, a small pour of their sangria was given to us as a pallet cleanser, which was a nice touch. I ordered the Tallarines Verdes with the Pork Belly and it was one of my favorite dishes in a long time, the best pork belly i've ever personally had. I enjoyed my dish with a glass of their delicious tempranillo. My boyfriend got the Mar Y Tierra without shrimp (allergy), and the chef subbed in an extra piece of hangar steak which was delicious as well. We then went with the S'mores dessert as our finisher and it had a big flame! The dessert itself was good but simple for my taste, should've went with Gabriel's recommendation to try the tres leches! Overall had a great experience from staff, to ambiance, to the food. Definitely recommend as my favorite spot in St. Augustine.

Date night on Anastasia Island, enjoying Peruvian Cuisine at Llama feels like you are magically transported to a mini vacation to Peru. Artful presentations of Peruvian food featured in a charming setting with an intimate feel. Owner and chef Marcel Vizcarra is young, ambitious and talented. Add his talent to the attentive, friendly service and pair it with creative plating We started with the bowl of warm crunchy roasted purple corn and yucca chips as appetizer so addicting + unexpectedly delicious! Delight your taste buds with an explosion of flavors with the mango ceviche, a fresh contrast of sweetness, citrus and spicy heat topped with an edible Passion flower so sweet + succulent. Palate cleansers with tamarind, lime and mint.

Everything was awesome from drinks, appetizer, Mains, and dessert. Service was on point. Food was amazingly delicious! Beautiful presentation too. Appetizer -- Anticuchos - marinated chargrilled beef heart skewers. So good you wouldn't think it's beef hearts. Mains -- Mar Y Tierra - surf and turf of the most iconic cuisine dish of Peru. -- Cordero Cusqueño(roasted rack of lamb marinated with Andean herbs and spices. Dessert -- Sacred Valley - Quillabamba cacao mousse, Lucuma fruit puree drizzled with spiced chocolate sauce. Drinks - Peruvian IPA and Yerba Mate I Highly recommend this place. Reservation is required.

This restaurant was my friend's choice, a they have good taste. The ambiance was beautiful, elegant and modern. The service and the staff really attentive. The food was an experience out of this world. We tried a couple of appetizers like the beef hearts( anticuchos) , chicharones(pork belly) ceviche Llama, all the dishes were presented gracefully and the flavor took you to a whole other place. The wine it was Devine. Dessert did not disappoint. Everything about this experience it was just wonderful. I will be coming back with my family. Thank you Marcel for everything.

Me and a friend were going to be in the area and we had read some reviews and articles about this place. So we made a reservation and did the tasting menu . First off the place is small with about 10 tables but it is so cozy and has a great vibe. Gabriel took care of us and he was amazing . He recommended we do our dinner family style so we could try a bit of everything . The food was absolutely outstanding. The presentation and experience was top notch . This was one of the best food experiences I have ever had .

Yahoo may need to add an additional star so I can click it for this restaurant. I had the Chicharron Sandwich and may be the best sandwich I have ever had. The crazy part is I don't even like sweet potatoes! (Menu attached) This place is flat doing it. Beg, borrow, steal a reservation.

We found out about this place when we had coffee at Marakuya by Llama Restaurant. We enjoyed their coffee and decided to celebrate my husband's birthday here. First of all, the place is small and I counted like maybe less than 10 tables. So, it is a must to make a reservation! We started off with Anticuchos. It's a marinated chargrilled beef heart. Oh my goodness, it tasted like steak! So tasty and tender! For the main entree I got the Mar Y Tierra which is their version of Lomo Saltado, It has stir-fry hangar steak, onions and tomatoes over a shrimp tagliatelle pasta. This was so delicious and great portion too! I also get to try my husband's rack of lamb, it was fantastic as well. And yes, you get what you paid for, which is a high quality food bursting with flavors, not to mention the exquisite presentation! Service was fast and our server was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all our questions. Worth every penny!

From start to finish this was one of the best dining experiences in St Augustine, and honestly probably one of the best hidden gems on the east coast. A small, intimate dining room made from what may have been a former store front, transports you to a vibrant and earthy space with llama pictures adorning all walls. There are limited tables - reservations ARE required and honestly you should look to book a minimum of four weeks out as there are limited spaces the closer to your day of interest. The food, service and space was phenomenal. We heard nothing but great things from locals as well (thanks Ice Plant & Old Coast bartenders!) and the food lived up to the hype. We split three entrees, two apps and had some phenomenal wine. I'm not sure how often they change specials, but they had a group over coconut rice on special and it was delicious. The lamb as well as the surf and turf were great, and one of my favorites were the beef hearts. So tender, and the sauce they serve along side was incredible. Don't miss the opportunity to dine at a place like this if you're in town or local and want to add what will become a staple to your rotation.

Patarashca: Grouper wrapped in plantain leaves, cooked over hot coals served with: yucca, plantains, hearts of palm, and sweet peppers.

How far in advance should you make reservations? How likely is it that there will be cancellations?

I make reservations weeks in advance. The restaurant is a small, quaint atmosphere.

While I have been there on a date in jacket and tie, Llama is casual, neat, and fun. Smartly dressed is the key to honoring such a cool place.

The atmosphere felt inviting and our server was attentive, but the dishes themselves were underwhelming for the price point. The Arancini, crab cakes, and bolognese all lacked depth of flavor and seasoning, and none offered the layered, memorable taste you would expect from a restaurant in this price range. Presentation could also be improved to better match the upscale positioning. Based on the overall lack of flavor in the meal, we decided to skip the $12 dessert. The check was difficult to justify considering the disappointing food quality. Here is what we ordered: 2 glasses of prosecco - $12 ea Still bottled water - $9 Arancini - $16 Beet Salad - $18 Crab cakes with Orzo, kale and squash - $48 Bolognese with pancetta and prosciutto - $38 Total with tip: $200! The ambiance and service show potential, and we truly hope the food quality improves so this restaurant can reach the same level as the many wonderful dining options nearby: The Purple Olive, Llama, Blackfly, Bea's, and The Black Molly Grill.

The service was pretty good, I can admit, however even that could've been better. We got started with our evening with a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. The house arancini was chicken stuffed, which we were only told about after we ordered the dish. Sadly, the chicken pieces were large and there was just not enough cheese to really make this dish work - nor enough sauce. I even got a piece of bone in my arancini, which just ruined my appetite. We then had decided on the chicken parm for the main course (which later we realized was rather similar to the arancini). The first chicken parm piece that was got was rather large in size, however as we cut into the dish we noticed that half of the meat was still pink and cold to the touch. We showed our waiter, and instead of treating us with some empathy, we were told that "well its not our fault, but I've been trying to tell the guys in the back to pound the meat before cooking it." We were given another piece of chicken, and it was only slightly better than the first piece, but we ate a few bites and called it an evening. It's too bad, I'd be willing to try this place out for other dishes but I don't know if I'll choose this place again, knowing there are other options nearby. The best part of the evening was the ambiance and the wine, so maybe a happy hour in the future is in order.

I personally just had the sides as I hate onion and I could not get a vegetarian pasta without onion. The pros are everyone on the staff was wonderful! Bartenders, our server Jonny, hostess, valet guys, etc. The cons are the chairs are cheap and uncomfortable, the space is dressed up a bit for a hotel but still a hotel restaurant, some of the patrons had on shorts and ball caps.
