What a great little breakfast spot in Layton that's locally owned! The price point is comparable with other National franchises, but whenever I can, I support local. Their coffee is from Daily Rise, a local coffee shop and distributor as well. My favorite items from this spot is actually the Chili Verde (I added extra pork - so worth it - we fed 2 people) and the Nutella Delight. We took that home and tore it up! In any case, I feel like they do the best job with their scones. Their hash could be a little crispier. But my husband liked his seasoned potatoes and my son loved how cheesy the grilled cheese was. Be aware that they have super limited seating and a long wait line with the drive through. Both not a bad thing for me - just proves they're a hit. Just be prepared though, not a place you should attempt if in a rush. Enjoy! read more

Stoped by for breakfast after spending an evening on Antelope Island. The coffee was spectacular. I got an americano with a splash of almond milk. Thr flavor was mild and nutty, not super acidic. I ordered the waffles on waffles for my meal. The waffle was fluffy and topped with the perfect amount of whipped cream and butter. The strawberries were a nice touch as well. I almost didn't need syrup. I took off one star because my eggs and sausage were a bit dry. Other than that, everything was delicious and I would definitely go again if I was ever back in the area. read more

Delicious! We were skeptical when we saw the drive through thinking this would be fast food-like. It wasn't! We ordered the skillet, pancakes, waffles, and French toast. Everything was perfection! I tried my first ever Utah "scone." It's called a sopapilla or fry bread where I'm from. It was pretty tasty! Was looking up nearby places that still serve breakfast in the afternoon and thought I'd check this place out. I was mostly excited for the waffles on waffles and French toast. Ordered 1 waffles on waffles, 1 breakfast sandwich, 1 side order of French toast. The waffles on waffles were just false advertising almost. The waffles looked nothing like the picture on yelp and had no flavor. The French toast had no flavor either and seemed drenched in egg. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good and the hash browns were nice. They gave us lots of whipped cream and strawberries, both were delicious. Overall, disappointed with my order and wouldn't recommend it at this time. read more

Loved this small locals place when I was on the road in Ogden, UT. Searched for a small independent breakfast place with an interesting fare and found it here! Restaurant sits at the end of a small strip mall but is new, clean, and has a nice seating arrangement of tables and benches. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the eggs (poached) with Chile verde and pork served on a bed of hash browns. Delicious! Chili could have been much hotter for my liking -- Utah is not New Mexico). The real star was the "scone" which was really like fry-bread you might get at a fair except no powered sugar but a delicious honey butter. Great stuff all around. Best breakfast spot in the area. I love the pork chile verde *chefs kiss* haven't had a single bad thing ever. Also have some unique and delicious coffee options. They used to use paper plates, but the move to glass definitely elevated the experience. Service is always great too, only issue you can run into is lack of seating, which is just a testament to how good it is. Try the utah scone instead of toast if you've never had one! read more

My favorite part of this little strip mall breakfast joint is that they have a full menu of daily rise coffee and options. Their breakfast menu also has lots of variety. I ordered the huevos con Chile verde and added pork. It wasn't the best I've had, but it was still tasty and worth ordering. The scone that came with it was delicious. I have had breakfast and had the coffee on a separate occasion, and I can say the food and the coffee is very good and fresh. I had the caramel fusion and their drip. Having Starbucks and Dunkin I have to say I prefer scrambled. It doesn't leave the slight after taste I get from the other places. Sadly Scrambled did not make it on our list for a weekly get together breakfast group location. A group of us with many children went into the restaurant. Immediately we saw a table open that was big enough for our group and seated the kids. The table was dirty and I had approached a staff member and asked for it to be cleaned off. She didn't even talk to me when I asked and walked away. She went to get cleaned and came back to clean up. She had asked if we ordered and I told her no we have not but going to right now. I explained we had a lot of kids and needed to get them seated. She let me know we can't claim this table and we have to move until we order our food. We had stated how hard it is to bring all the kids up there and order and then try to find a seat after. She was very rude. The demographics up here in Davis county is alot of stay at home moms with children. I wish this was more friendly to families with children and let the tables be first come first serve. We ended up leaving and taking our business to Ramblin Roads not far and had great service and will continue our local group get together there. I had called and let management know about this. She was very nice and took all my concerns with consideration. However, I do not recommend anyone with children to come to this establishment since it will be hard to get seating for families. The owner needs to make a change. So many cafes are just as small and it's first come first serve. read more

Scrambled is a great option when you're craving a hearty breakfast. We loved the French Toast, sausage links, and scones. My favorite dish always is Oscar's Wicked Skillet. So yummy with delicious sausage, crisp bacon, and fresh peppers. The only miss was the Huevos con Chili Verde which was almost soupy. My fave brunch spot, worth the drive from Ogden to Layton! The lattes & mochas are wonderful, as are the scones (with honey butter or cinnamon butter... YUM!) The food is delicious, but the establishment is too small. There were no tables so we asked for our food to go. Then a table opened up so we sat down. We let an employee know the plates left from the previous guests weren't ours so we could get help clearing the table, just in case they thought it was our plates. The employee came over and asked us to leave because we didn't request a table. I asked if we could switch it since there were no tables previously and then it opened up and she said no. Poor customer service. Not sure if she was annoyed since we asked for help but either way, not cool. Our experience has gotten worse each time we've come. I came in here looking for a good hot breakfast and was not disappointed. I ordered the wicked skillet and my wife the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich had some heft to it with lots of eggs and sausage on a properly grilled sour dough toast. She said the sandwich was delicious but couldn't finish it. It came with a side of hash browns. At most places the hash browns are a throw away item but here they were fresh and crispy. The toast seemed higher quality than the typical white bread that most places use. The skillet had everything but the kitchen sink, with green chilis. Everything in the skillet had color like it was cooked on the grill fresh and was properly seasoned. Oh, even the drip coffee was delicious, kudos. It seems like this place elevates the standard diner fare in almost every category. My criticisms: 1. Love ordering from the counter to avoid the huge expense of paying a waiter / waitress. However counter service is hard to get right. It needs to be fast. However here it seemed like person taking my order needed to ask too many questions. Coffee? With cream? What kind of cream? How many? With sugar? What kind? Just put cream and sugar on the table, lol. Also do not like the system where you have to click through mandatory tip screens. Tips should not be requested for someone taking the order without table service. If people feel generous they can add one but don't make everyone have to click past a 25% tip box in front of the person. 2. Eggs were cooked over hard when we ordered over easy Overall minor criticisms. This is a five star breakfast joint all day. read more

So excited about this new location...just a few blocks from home! The grand opening was crazy! Line going out the door and down the sidewalk past Firehouse subs. I was hoping this would be a secret spot for awhile. I guess not! Despite the never ending line, the staff was super friendly and enthusiastic. The food is great! I had the chili verde burrito with hash browns - and they were happy to put some tasty white gravy on the hash browns at my request. Nice heat from the chili verde! Not overpowering, but a nice warm glow. The scones are killer! Cooked perfectly golden brown, with lots of goodies to go on top, in case you're craving something besides honey butter. Full Disclosure: I DID break one of the Ten Commandments...I coveted my neighbor's grilled breakfast sandwich...and my other neighbor's omelette. I'll be getting one of those the next time I come. Me and my Daughter tried this place out for the first time today and it was Delicious! We couldn't decide on what to get because everything sounded great. I got the Denver omelet and my Daughter got the Chile verde (smothered) burrito. Both were really good and freshly made to order. The portions were just right and not overly much. Worst possible/slow service in Layton. Upon arrival to pick up food that was already ordered I was told it would be ready in a minute.... 15 minutes later I woke up another waiting customer and asked how long have they been waiting for. She looked at her phone and told me 25 minutes! I returned to my vehicle to let my wife know of the delay and smoke a cigarette in the parking lot. When I returned inside I asked for an updated time frame and was told they were bagging it up. Five more minutes later the woman who had been waiting over 30 minutes got her order. I continued to watch more and more people become frustrated. Another person showed up and took a seat. The staff offered him a beverage while he waited, huh?
