I came in here looking for a good hot breakfast and was not disappointed. I ordered the wicked skillet and my wife the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich had some heft to it with lots of eggs and sausage on a properly grilled sour dough toast. She said the sandwich was delicious but couldn't finish it. It came with a side of hash browns. At most places the hash browns are a throw away item but here they were fresh and crispy. The toast seemed higher quality than the typical white bread that most places use. The skillet had everything but the kitchen sink, with green chilis. Everything in the skillet had color like it was cooked on the grill fresh and was properly seasoned. Oh, even the drip coffee was delicious, kudos. It seems like this place elevates the standard diner fare in almost every category. My criticisms: 1. Love ordering from the counter to avoid the huge expense of paying a waiter / waitress. However counter service is hard to get right. It needs to be fast. However here it seemed like person taking my order needed to ask too many questions. Coffee? With cream? What kind of cream? How many? With sugar? What kind? Just put cream and sugar on the table, lol. Also do not like the system where you have to click through mandatory tip screens. Tips should not be requested for someone taking the order without table service. If people feel generous they can add one but don't make everyone have to click past a 25% tip box in front of the person. 2. Eggs were cooked over hard when we ordered over easy Overall minor criticisms. This is a five star breakfast joint all day. read more

Cross between a sit down place and quick service. Was expecting more diner style but I dig the concept. Place was super clean and people were friendly. Me and my Daughter tried this place out for the first time today and it was Delicious! We couldn't decide on what to get because everything sounded great. I got the Denver omelet and my Daughter got the Chile verde (smothered) burrito. Both were really good and freshly made to order. The portions were just right and not overly much. Worst possible/slow service in Layton. Upon arrival to pick up food that was already ordered I was told it would be ready in a minute.... 15 minutes later I woke up another waiting customer and asked how long have they been waiting for. She looked at her phone and told me 25 minutes! I returned to my vehicle to let my wife know of the delay and smoke a cigarette in the parking lot. When I returned inside I asked for an updated time frame and was told they were bagging it up. Five more minutes later the woman who had been waiting over 30 minutes got her order. I continued to watch more and more people become frustrated. Another person showed up and took a seat. The staff offered him a beverage while he waited, huh? If you order your breakfast here it will be ready for brunch. read more

Sadly Scrambled did not make it on our list for a weekly get together breakfast group location. A group of us with many children went into the restaurant. Immediately we saw a table open that was big enough for our group and seated the kids. The table was dirty and I had approached a staff member and asked for it to be cleaned off. She didn't even talk to me when I asked and walked away. She went to get cleaned and came back to clean up. She had asked if we ordered and I told her no we have not but going to right now. I explained we had a lot of kids and needed to get them seated. She let me know we can't claim this table and we have to move until we order our food. We had stated how hard it is to bring all the kids up there and order and then try to find a seat after. She was very rude. The demographics up here in Davis county is alot of stay at home moms with children. I wish this was more friendly to families with children and let the tables be first come first serve. We ended up leaving and taking our business to Ramblin Roads not far and had great service and will continue our local group get together there. I had called and let management know about this. She was very nice and took all my concerns with consideration. However, I do not recommend anyone with children to come to this establishment since it will be hard to get seating for families. The owner needs to make a change. So many cafes are just as small and it's first come first serve. read more

Hmmmmmm, I really wanted to like this place, but it was just not that great. I ordered the B&G breakfast. The sausage gravy was good, the "buttermilk biscuits" were like no biscuits I've ever seen. They were more like small pancakes, I wasn't impressed with those. The egg was cooked as ordered (over easy). I ordered crispy bacon, I got the opposite of crispy bacon. The portions of food I got were very small. My wife ordered the blueberry pancakes and said they were very big and tasty. She ordered an egg over easy, but her egg was WAY over-cooked! Yolk had the consistency of a hard boiled egg. She also got turkey sausage links that she said seemed like they were pre cooked and heated in a microwave. We gave Scrambled 3 stars, but actually more in the 2 1/2 star range. May try them again someday. read more

The pricing is egg-cellent. (B'dum tssss) My husband ordered the breakfast burrito. Price: 8.95. Served with choice of hash browns or Cajun potatoes. He also had a choice of meat for inside the burrito- ham, bacon, or sausage. He chose ham. The burrito is HUGE! It was cooked very well and tasted very good. The hash browns were good, but definitely needed salt/pepper. Cheese woulda been awesome on them too. I got my go-to old faithful breakfast- Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast. (Called B & G Breakfast on their menu) Price: 7.95. Served with an egg and choice of sausage, bacon, or ham. I requested my egg be cooked over-medium and chose bacon. Now let me preface this with, I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama; by parents also born and raised in the Deep South. Biscuits and Gravy are a lifestyle down here. I have found places outside of the Deep South that serve decent B & G, but not any in Utah yet. So many places advertise Southern Style biscuits and gravy and they just leave something to be desired. Scrambled, however, is different. They serve Biscuits and Gravy, but they are not advertise them as Southern Style. That doesn't always mean anything though. When mine showed up at our table, it was blatantly obvious that these biscuits and gravy were not even attempting to be southern style. It was refreshing. When I took the first bite, I looked at my husband and said- "they're surprisingly good. The only reason I like them though, is because they are their own kind of Biscuits and Gravy. They're not trying to be something they aren't." The gravy had green onions atop it and kind of a hint of a hollandaise taste to it. It was good in way I have never had biscuits and gravy to be before. The biscuit- was also not a buttermilk fluffy style biscuit you would think of in Southern Style B & G, but something more like the love child of a biscuit and an English muffin. Very tasty, very unique. The bacon- was THICK breakfast bacon and cooked to perfection. The egg, while definitely just barely over-medium, was great. The outside was fried to a perfect golden crispiness while the yolk was still perfect for dipping the bacon into. We will definitely be back. We are dying to try their scones- each one that came out of the kitchen looked enticing. Lastly, to touch on the service. Employees were happy and helpful. What more could we need?! They all appeared to be working hard and loving what they were doing. I don't know if the coffee was burnt, or one of the ingredients were off.. but I can't even drink a sip of it. "Raw vs Caramelized Onions" Menu says Caramelized Onions, but I raw onions in every bite. Chopped/minced so small, it is too difficult to pick out the Raw Onions. Too add to a great order. French Toast tastes like a dirty grill . Plus extremely dark brown Scrambled eggs. Best thing when I call to mention the Raw Onions, I get interrupted by, "we will make sure the next time to fix that".
