Short version: I must say, this place is legit. It was actually really good so I would recommend to anyone in the area. The longer: This place is right across the street from Syracuse High School, I stopped by because I was nearby and the good reviews seemed positive. The location is a little small, but the inside was pretty cute. Service was good but it was a little slow, I will attribute it to everything being fresh though, because it didn't have that flavor or lack thereof to being stale ingredients. As for the food itself, I was massively impressed. I got the burger with the egg on top(I forgot what it was called) and I was extremely satisfied, so much so that I'd probably put it in my top 3 for burger joints in Utah. The fries were great as well, and the fry sauce was as good as you could expect. The Oreo shake was good as well but i probably should've asked for a spoon because the chunks were too big for the straw, not a complaint but just letting you be aware of what may happen. All in all, I'd definitely come back and suggest others would as well. I couldn't quite give it a five star but it's close 4.75/5 read more

Update on my review from last year- highly disappointed. I buy gift cards for people here and now I'm at odds with it. The service is awful. They had Father's Day deals for gift cards, so we bought dinner and gift cards. The girl completely forgot to give my son the $30 gift cards. When I drove back to tell her, she said he left before she could give it to him- uhm he was sitting there 15 mins waiting for our food order, on top of that they got the order wrong. The cook was upset that my son told him it was a to go order, he begrudgingly put it in boxes. My son asked if the order was complete, to which he gave my teenager a begrudged nod- guess what, the kids meal was missing. This staff is not attentive to detail and my son who works in fast food customer service, says they appear to dislike their job. The kids nuggets were way too crisp. I'm all for local and whatnot but treat your customers like family because we are all in this community and love our city hospitality. read more

Came here for a work lunch and enjoyed myself though could have been better. When you walk in you're greeted by a cool patio setting to sit and eat , though there isn't much shade or light protected seating for your eyes. Then you come in and see the menu. I like that everything had picture visuals. Though there are no words describing what's actually in it. The cashier brought us over a menu to look at with more details which was helpful. We placed our order and the girl who helped us was very nice. She made sure all customizations were heard and taken care of. Then told us they will call us when our food is ready. Turns out they delivered it to us outside. The food came out hot and fresh but my meal came out incorrectly. They forgot the egg and burger on my meal. When I shared that the gal immediately apologized and said she will get that fixed. Within 3 minutes my burger and egg made it out fully cooked. Sweet pita fries tasted like fresh sweet potatoes. Food overall was great and so was the service. Though I wish it came out the right way the first time. Id give this place another chance! read more

On the first day of 2026, my wife and I decided to venture out and try something new. A random recommendation from YELP popped up on her phone. Keeping with a couple criteria, an untried venue, check! Food, (most importantly) check! and nearby, check! We decided to throw on some foot covers and head out the door. A quick jaunt and we'd arrived. Super easy to find even though it isn't street facing. Expecting it to be bustling with NYE recovery folks, we were surprised to find a quiet establishment that had two other patrons. Quickly I grabbed up a menu and we were immediately greeted with a friendly "Good Morning" from a very energetic and enjoyable young man. We sat and perused the menu. Talking over what we wanted vs what we should have. It took less time to make our decision for our order than most food stops in our past. I ordered the Mortician with Pepper Jack instead of the American Cheese it was paired with. Our order taker guy, (also the energetic greeter) inquired if I wanted to make it a double. I answered to the affirmative, (with a sheepish smile on my face). My wife conservatively ordered the Thursday Special, consisting of the Morty's Iconic Cheeseburger and fries. After paying and sitting down, our once greeter/order taker now waiter guy appeared with a large bottle of pour-it-yourself Fry Sauce and a handful of napkins. I looked over the sauce and quickly realized I hadn't ordered the Onion Rings that I wanted to try. I quickly mentioned to our greeter/order taker/waiter guy before he disappeared behind the kitchen doors that I needed the onion rings. With a smile and a thumbs up he said, I gotchu. I asked if there was a separate charge and stood up to pay. He quickly interrupted my advancement with an outstretched hand and a more pronounced, I Got You. This, of course was not my intention to get free stuffs but I was pleased just the same. My wife quickly grabbed some loose cash from her purse and added it to their tip jar. Thanks Babe! Once again you show me one of the many reasons for my affection toward you! We sat and did some chit-chat, continuing conversations from earlier that day. Sooner than expected, our food shows up, piled high and filling the plates with our side orders, (see photos). I literally had to take off the onion rings that were part of the sandwich makeup to even consider the possibility of moving the Mortician into my mouth, (TWSS! ...if you know, you know). Im finding this experience difficult to put into words. So, I'll sum it up. Delicious and juicy and fantastic! For once, outside of a homegrown burger, I'm able to enjoy the separate flavorings of Bacon, Beef, (which I think is marinated), the jalapeño and the pastrami as well as the aioli. After a quick drink to cleanse my palette, I grabbed up an Onion Ring. I paused to reflect on my existence and quietly muttered, this is really good! Crispy beyond any previous onion ring order from any of the, what could be hundreds of orders of rings during my 59 years, and delicious. I savored every bite, licked my fingers, and made happy "mmm mmm" sounds as I partook of this fine deliciousness. We finished everything! Talked about how this particular Morty's has now been labeled a family staple. Our experience is not just made up from the delicious food, friendly atmosphere, free onion rings, and did I mention the delicious food?, no. It's all of these as a whole, bigger experience, making it a unique and favorite beginning to a new year. Thanks to you, Morty's and our favorite greeter/order taker/waiter/I gotchu guy, we both are still smiling from our visit. Thank you for the excellent experience. Morty's opened up in Syracuse, and had good reviews elsewhere, so we thought we'd give them a try. When we showed up at 12:30 pm on a Friday it was packed, had to wait for a table to open up. Good sign. They offer burgers, salads, sandwiches and burritos. You come in and are filtered to the counter to order. The staff was helpful and friendly. My son tried the Iconic Burger add bacon, ($3 add), with fries for $3.50. Burger was fresh and tasty, the bun was so fresh it kind of melted away. Bacon was thick and cooked well. I ordered from the Bavarian menu Das Frik'n Burger, 50/50 beef and pork patty, topped with sweet red cabbage cheese, sweet and spicy sauce and creamy aioli sauce on a toasted brioche bun. It was so flavorful and good, almost a sweet bbq flavor with a small kick. Kind of messy and the bun didn't hold up throughout the meal. Get lots of napkins. Not your typical burger but very good and I would recommend. The fries look like a twice fried fries and were awesome, crispy and yummy with bottles of fry sauce. Great fries! I tried a bottle of Bundaburg Root Beer. Tastes like grandma's home made. I would recommend trying Morty's and will be back. read more

This review is mostly based on their DoorDash service due to the fact I haven't been inside yet!! But I am so impressed, I had to share. I DoorDash regularly for lunch and I was in the mood to order a burger so I decided to try Morty's. I picked their #2 best rated burger, some fries and went about my day. When it arrived, it was the biggest burger I have ever seen!! The ingredients in the burger were stuffed to the brim and the entire container was full. I was so impressed! I saw a review on TT and thought we'd try a new place that's local. 1st with ppl standing around you still had to ring a bell to get service. We waited for 35 minutes for 2 burgers and an order of scone bites. My friends and I had lunch today at Morty's and loved it! I ordered the Iconic burger (a standard cheeseburger) with fries and some scone fries to share. One of my friends ordered the Sunny Side (cheese, fried egg, bacon, spinach, tomato and honey mustard) and the other ordered the Philly (1/3 lb. patty topped with cheddar, philly style ribeye, onions, peppers and provolone). We all agreed everything was amazing and we all plan on going back soon. I was happy to see they have my favorite soda, Stubborn Pineapple Cream soda, it's so good. My husband and I went there tonight with our family. We waited for over an hour for our food. Our son in law had to go back to work so we had to end up getting our food to go after both he and my husband went back up to the counter and waited patiently several times hoping that they would hurry. When we finally got our food they were told that there was some sort of a mix up with the online orders... We didn't place an online order. We ordered and paid for in person and we still were there for more than an hour waiting. Once we were finally able to eat, the food tasted good, but not good enough for two overpriced burgers, some cold fries and onion rings and a small shake that cost almost $50 for the two of us and a not great customer service experience. I'm hoping this is an isolated experience as I like to support local businesses and would like to give them another chance sometime but not sure when. read more

Went to Morty's Café last weekend with my sister, her boyfriend, & my dad. I wasn't super hungry so I just ordered a side of fries. These fries were some of the best fries I've ever had though!!! My dad ordered a patty melt. The marbled rye bread looked really good. My sister ordered the chicken cali sandwich & her boyfriend ordered the mortician burger. My sister said she loved the chicken cali sandwich, she said the chili sauce was a nice twist & an upgrade to the sandwich. Portion size was decent too! It took a little bit to receive our food, but once we received it we all inhaled it & really liked it! I also thought it was cool that they offered a student deal since it's really close to Syracuse High School & I also liked how they give you your own bottle of fry sauce. Sometimes asking for packets or more fry sauce can be such a pain at places. I would definitely go back. Excited to try one of their veggie burgers next time! read more

A lunch at Morty's Cafe was a treat. Customers order at the counter for takeout or eat-in in their industrial style dining space. I ordered a Sunrise burger that had a perfectly cooked patty with crispy edges, crisp bacon, spinach and egg and dressing. Unfortunately, the egg wasn't runny, but the over-all flavor and protein quality was superior. Meals come with fries, but I opted for onion rings. Great choice. The breading remained intact and was anointed with a light sprinkle of sea salt, giving it a tasty pop of savor. Prices were pretty comparable with other cafes. I really enjoyed having Morty's Cafe in Syracuse. The decor is simple, yet inviting and nice. I think it works best as a fast food lunch place but I didn't mind going here for dinner. The food was very good, there were several burgers that looked amazing like the Mortician and the Sunny Side burger. I had the Yucatán burger because it stood out to me as a relatively healthy burger. The burger was absolutely excellent. I thought the service was good too. We went in with a very large group (16 people) and they brought everything out within about a half hour which I find reasonable for a group that large. Let's start with the only good, the onion rings were delicious. After that it went down hill really fast. The service if you want to call it that consisted of 1 employee taking our order then disappearing back in the "kitchen." We ordered a Hawaiin Burger, Italian Burger, sweet potato fries and onion rings. The food came out within 5 min and that's when I knew we were in trouble. Turns out this place is a glorified Mcdonalds with a bigger price tag and half the taste. The hawaiin burger was inedible, greesy, and had a big tough cube of pineapple in it. My wife's Italian burger tasted like windex. The Atmosphere is dead silence with filth everywhere, tables, floor, and staff. I don't need to come back. Stopped in the other night for dinner with a group of friends. The line was fairly long and there were a lot of people at the tables, but they were able to move through orders quickly and with a smile the entire time. Great customer service from this group! We were so excited to hear that one of our favorite places in Logan had opened a location nearer to home! We went on a Saturday, mid afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner and it was all delicious! We ordered a Rueben, the German melt, regular fries, scone fries with raspberry cheesecake dipping sauce and a German chocolate shake. My husband likes pastrami but usually doesn't like the thousand island dressing type sauce on them, so he asked if they had a different type of sauce. The manager overhead and asked if he'd like to try their homemade "Russian" sauce that they use and then brought a sample for him to taste before we finished our order. He loved it and loved it on the sandwich as well. Service was quick and friendly. The large signs that had prices didn't have a ton of other details besides the names and price but they did have smaller flyers with descriptions of all the food.
