Destroyed one of two kayaks and lost major equipment for 3 days. Insurance from Allied is a joke. Non existent. Most expensive quote I got to insure a perfect move and it was the worst experience ever. read more

We used Schick Allied, I would not recommend this company. Schick was our second choice because the other company could not accommodate our timeline. Chad went through our house, looked at everything we had and prepared a bid for what the cost would be for our move to Utah and 3 months storage. We were told if he were to estimate over the weight, the bid would go down to the actual weight, but if he under estimated there would be no adjustment. We received a call from Chad a few weeks later asking in an accusatory manner, if we had brought in extra items because our weight was over what he estimated. He was told no, what he saw in the house was what was packed. Chad told us when we needed our belongings to give him two weeks notice. We called on June 16th requesting our belongings and were told they were having trouble with manpower and drivers. We received our belongings on July 16th after being charged an extra month's storage. In the final contract, the storage fee had been increased by $40.00 per month. Stay away from this company, they don't honor their contract or deliver as promised. read more

This is the best company you can find for a long-distance move - hands down. I move residences quite often and find there are pros and cons with every mover I've used in the past. There are only pros with this one. Paul Arborn was my estimator, he is very experienced, accurate, professional and helpful. The moving team, John & Susan Holliday, brought professional helpers with them, not day laborers. My move took only 2-1/2 hours on each side (pack-up & delivery). I was very lucky to get John & Susan as my mover team, they cover the west coast area - let's hope you get them for your move, too. They made the whole moving process much easier and less stressful. It makes a big difference when the movers know their job well and are organized - I just can not say enough good things about them! read more

Over all it was a great moving experience that was made possible by Chad Scott! The movers were timely, friendly and efficient. Nothing was lost, nothing was damaged and no detail was left incomplete. During the quote that Chad came and provided, the cost for a shuttle was quoted to move the contents of the house to the 18-wheeler moving van due to the tight neighborhood street. As it turned out the operating company was able to complete the move without the shuttle. However, the operating company went ahead and charged the full amount of the quote, including the shuttle. Initially they were unwilling to refund the charged shuttle cost, but after one phone call to Chad, all was resolved and he remedied the situation in a timely and professional manner! With that level of customer service in place, I would be happy to recommend Chad and the team at Schick any day of the week! read more

Chad came out a gave an estimate. Showed up on time and the move to Virginia Beach went smoothly. The truck even arrived in Virginia earlier than expected which was great since we were eagerly awaiting it. They moved everything into our new house protecting our wood floors and walls. Same truck and driver loaded our stuff in CA brought our stuff to VA and kept us updated along the way. From the estimate to delivery everything went smoothly and for a fair price. read more

Great movers. Highly recommended, but would deduct a half star because a couple cheaper items were damaged in the move and they forgot one of my hose reels at the old house. They took care of everything that we needed packed, and were very flexible and understanding during the entire process. At one point we realized that some items had been packed that we did not want to have shipped. We called Chad and he contacted the packers. They were able to tell us exactly which box it was in and how it was packed. We found it easily, and are very grateful that they knew where it was. The packing crews showed up exactly on time, and started knocking out the load. They were friendly, professional, and great guys to work with. Since our stuff is going to storage for a while it was nice to see that they took care with every item. We moved from Aliso Viejo to San Diego last week. We got our original quote from Kevin, and had a couple revisions, destination changes and finally booked 10 days out. The mover crew showed up on time, started promptly, worked tirelessly until 2 trucks were loaded. They all were extremely careful with all our items. When they arrived in San Diego, they asked to see new house and general plan before starting. Did I say they worked well as a team, especially in our much smaller hallway. Not one complaint about asking to move items back into another area. They dismantled and put back together our large master bed. When done they asked us to walk through and explained in detail how to file a damage report. Add to all this, it was $400 under the quoted price! read more

This company did an outstanding job helping me move from Orange County to Florida. Kevin Schick himself came over to give me an estimate, I saved hundreds over moving myself with a rental like Penske or U Haul, plus they did all the loading and driving! Everything arrived at it's destination earlier than promised and all was well taken care of. No hidden charges, no failure to show up or with inadequate supplies, just a n excellent performance by this company. When I move back to Orange County, and I will, I am hoping Kevin and his crew can coordinate it from there, I never want to use a different moving company again! read more

This is not the best company.....it awful. We just moved from placentia to Washington and one of our boxes full of DVD's collector editions worth a lot of money went missing, we didnt realize it until 3 days later. We put a claim in and they denied it because I had signed that we recieved everything but it was impossible for me to track inventory when 4 different guys were taking the boxes off the truck including the guy who was supposed to be taking inventory. The driver told me he was exhausted because he had to bust ass to drive up here because the shipment he was supposed to get after ours was delayed so he only had a day to get to washington. He was supposed to have given me an inventory list before they started unloading but he didnt so my husband did the best he could to do their job...he asked the movers where his dvd box was and they just kept saying its here its here. Finally at the end i was presented with two things to sign, one which was the inventory list he was supposed to have given me at the beginning which he apparently filled out himself and told me it was HIS inventory list so I signed it besides what was i going to do after the fact, make them sit there for 3 more hours while i tracked down every box? I was sympathetic to the driver and even gave him 40$ tip. Well now they denied our claim because i signed that CUSTOMER inventory list saying that i had everything......I didnt even realize what it was until after the box was missing. Now they say the are not responsible, the box went on their truck and didnt come off....thats what i know, and on top of that i paid an extra 500 for insurance...... they screwed us and they will screw you too. The drivers name was Jamie( spanish pronounciation)had very bad english, and he hired day laborers that had nothing to do with the company. Im disgusted and appalled by their "investigation" of the whole issue and Allied should be held responsible as well as "Schick" They are probably going to have this comment erased so not to tarnish their reputation thats how corruption works. I cannot covey how much I owe these guys(and Ladies). We were moving to Austin TX from Orange County and I had interviewed Allied.. Chad cam over and created a fully computerized estimate based on my homes contents, the need for two trucks and storage in their climate controlled warehouse in Tustin on the 5 frwy. It was a very big house with more stuff than I can imagine how we accumulated, and with a mult-thousand mile trip, it was expensive... Well my wife has Atlantic Moving from Anaheim come in , the were not computerized and I thought they were not as professional(man was I right). They were a little cheaper and so my wife insisted. well the day cam and we had to be out because of the home closing... Atlantic shows of with one small truck, three puny guys and no packing materials! I WAS SCREWED!! I blew up at them and called the office, they were no help and after barking at the people once more.. THEY WALKED OUT!!!! they would not come back and left me high and dry... Unprofessional and bordering on fraudulent. What Could I do? I called Chad and begged him for his help. He was completely cool and understanding, he told me to hang in there and let me see what he could do. he told me it might be a few days before he got a crew and the trucks together.. I could do nothing but pray.. Sure enough I got a call three hours later and the crew leader was at my house telling me that he would have two trucks and a full crew here tomorrow at 8:)) AM!!!!! Thank you Thank you thank you. I wish I remembered the crews names, they were big, strong, fast and efficient, they had that home done in seven hours and it was done perfectly... not a problem... I used allied from san Antonio to OC. everything was fantastic, schick was contracted to deliver and that was fine. My move out using Tustin allied aka schick began as expected. until the move in, it was a nightmare. Too much detail to write here, but the electronics were the worse. 1 of cable boxes were returned, our 30K dollar plasma system was in 9 pieces piled in a box with no protection and left in the box. I had 6 boxes just dumped and not unpacked. remotes and cords were not wrapped together and some missing. I called the company to ask about the missing electronics, three times and never received a return call. they insisted we pay BEFORE they left the house load of furniture and I can see why, they took away my bargaining tool. I chalked it up to a lesson learned. But you can learn from my mistake of choosing this company. I would go with a national company and not an independent company. Be sure you insist on paying when the job is complete. give 50% down payment that should be satisfactory. Watch how they wrap and protect sensitive items such as electronics. Schick's quote for moving me from Orange County, CA to the Boston, MA area was competitive. Driver Clint Ramirez and local helpers packed and moved me out on the promised day. When there was no space to park the larger moving van at the Boston area destination, Clint rented a smaller transfer truck at no charge to me. Clint and different local helpers lugged my stuff up to the third floor at the Boston area destination. All the stuff arrived in good shape except one picture glass which was chipped. read more

Kevin Schick was very professional, helpful and willing to work with us on the date of the move since we didn't know exactly when our house would close. We were just moving across town, but moved from a large house to a smaller condo. We moved on 1/20/2017 during one of the strongest rain storms this winter. The crew of 4 workers was great, even in the rain. They wrapped and covered everything really well, even though they were getting soaked themselves. They worked very hard and were very polite and respectful. You could tell they knew what they were doing. Schick Moving AND Storage are the very BEST. I have made several moves in Orange County with them. Big houses, tons of book boxes. I have never had an issue with them. They are fast and only take a few breaks throughout the day. The crews are very respectful and very careful of all items. We are an older couple and they won't let us lift a finger during the moves. I would never even consider using another company. Oh, I have also stored with them for over a year in their place in Tustin. Very carefully packed into the vaults and detailed list of items. Schick Allied was highly recommended to us by some friends that had recently moved out of state. Indeed they were right! We moved from RSM, CA to Alto, NM. Upon first contacting the company, Kevin Schick set up an appointment and did a very detailed inventory and presented a competitive quote that we accepted. The schedule was set to first to package up a good portion of our belongs, followed by their truck the next day to pick everything up and start the journey. Moses and Patrick arrived as scheduled and did an excellent job of packing our belongings, many very fragile. The next day Ismael, the terrific driver, and his team worked very hard loading the truck. As scheduled we met Ismael at our new home in New Mexico 5 days later. Within 6 hours everything was unloaded and placed in the appropriate rooms. Beds and miscellaneous other furniture assembled etc. I cannot say enough about the terrific care taken in handling our belongs. Now, 3 weeks later, that we have pretty much unpacked most items, not one item has been found broken. Good job Team Schick! read more

It's very hard to find reviews or recommendations for good movers. I've moved a lot around the country and in-state - on my own, with expensive companies, with cheap companies. We hired Schick for our move from Southern California to Colorado. Best experience yet as far as the intangibles. There are ALWAYS going to be things that don't go great in a move. Nicks on furniture, things lost, scratches on floors. Please be careful about reading reviews and judging a moving company on these things, because it goes with the territory - the only way to prevent that is doing it yourself, and I promise the odds are you'll do a worse job. WHAT MATTERS most to me is that we dealt with friendly pros at Schick. 99% of our interaction was with Kevin Schick, who came to our home and gave us a fair, competitive estimate. He gave us his email and cell for any questions. He was easy to deal with throughout. And our quoted price went DOWN. We were underweight - the quote they give you is guaranteed not to go up, and it's nice that it went down. They work with Allied Moving so your truck driver and loaders are employees of a national company, trained, background checked and more. The Allied guys were great. Solid. Fast, on time, etc. But it was Schick moving that felt like our friendly, trusted partner. We didn't have many questions, but they helped with anything we asked. We looked for ways to save money, and Kevin was helpful in guiding us through that, honestly and graciously. They also provide FREE boxes (standard boxes mostly - TV boxes are on you, go to Home Depot for those at a great price). That's a perk to working with Schick and Allied. When we went to sign our contract (in their very nice and huge office), Kevin helped load in the boxes to our car himself, noting what he thought we needed and telling us to come back anytime for more. Very hands-on and great. NOTE TO MOVERS: besides assuming that you may lose some material things, there may be breakage, and so on, you also need to understand that unless you pay a huge price to a door to door mover where only your items are on the truck, there may be delays. Schick gave us the window and the Allied driver was in touch by phone - he gave us his cell too, btw. It took longer than we had hoped, but that's part of the business as the truck had a few other loads on it. All in all a great experience - highly recommend you use Schick. read more

This company was not the cheapest but I felt comfortable with the fact that they use their own employees not people recruited as day workers and given shirts as some of the other companies i talked to. The pick up and packing of my goods was quick and done as planned. I had my items stored for 30 days until my new place was ready. I have given 4 not 5 stars because on delivery they did not put my furniture back together as I was told they would because they do not unbox anything unless you pay extra. Rather than telling me this they just left and didn't really check out with me first...I called the main office and they did return quickly, I unpacked the mirror and they assembled it as previously promised. They also scratched my new wood floor which I did not see until after they left so just make sure to check everything as they leave. All in all I would use this company again. read more

Do not use Schick Moving and Storage. We used them to move us from Brea to Yorba Linda 4 weeks ago. They broke a foot from the base frame on our wine cabinet and they broke the cooling unit in the wine cabinet. They also damaged my brother-in-law's coffee table that he purchased in Japan. We paid for insurance. When I filled out the claim form they denied the entire claim based on the movers excuse that they "bent back" the broken foot so they considered it fixed. And they said the coffee table was previously damaged even though they never showed it to me before moving it from our house in Brea. They also wouldn't cover the cooling unit because it was one of those fine print items in the contract that isn't covered. Additionally, when I called Kevin Schick, who sold us on their quality and service to escalate the denied claim, he not only didn't have the decency to call me back (emailed me instead) but his response was that he "has no influence on claims." In this situation, it wasn't just poor service, but also a lack of responsibility, ownership and flat out disrespect that has prompted my goal to ensure no one ever uses Schick Moving and Storage. read more

They are experienced, profession, helpful, trustworthy and we would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a moving/storage company. I called Schick to schedule my move (end of Aug 2014). During the phone call, the representative explained hourly rates differences for weekdays and weekends. She explained the flat $40 gas charge and the 6 hour minimum. At NO time did she mentioned Schick would charge double time for driving NOR did she mention they would round to the nearest half hour THEN double the total. For example, if the drive time is 16 minutes, the time would be rounded to 30 minutes then doubled to 60 minutes. The total is then multiplied by hourly rate (weekend or weekday/2 or 3 movers etc). Surprisingly, the driver of the truck did not write down the start time or end time of the driving (it would have been 14 minutes except the driver mysteriously detoured off-route to stop at Schick headquarters). The confirmation letter mentions doubling driving time but does NOT mention rounding to 30 minutes then doubling - "Final charges are calculated by adding the actual loading time, double the driving time, and actual unloading time." When I called to complain about the drive time, the representative said she would pull the file then call me back (which she didn't). The next day, I called her back and she advised she spoke with the owner of the company Gordon and he declined to adjust the rate or discuss the issue with me directly.
