I was moving from Irvine, California to Indio, California, and it was on a Saturday and traffic was very fast and smooth. I made it in less than two hours going the speed limit. When I got the bill, they told me it took them three hours to get here. I know they were late and I actually called them to see where they were and they said they were on their way. Later I checked my tracker I had in one of the boxes and they make it a 30 minute stop. I guess to get drinks or whatever. I knew the three hours was way over the top with the traffic being the way it was. Even with a large truck, going less than the speed limit, 2.5 hours would have been the max additional time, but I was charged for three hours of travel time for a total of six hours. In addition, they moved so slow, it was obvious they were dragging out the time. wondering about, talking to themselves and acting odd. I do not recommend this company. If you do use them, make sure you put a tracker in your boxes so you can prove the over billing. This job should've been done in less than 10.75 hours given I had everything ready to go. They only had to wrap the washer and dryer. Unbelievable. read more

i don't usually take the time to write reviews - though i always read them, so i wanted to make sure to leave one this time. i was really nervous about my move - had lived in my place for 23+ years and was going through the process solo and really needed an easy and safe experience. it was all daunting, to say the least. i did a LOT of research on moving companies and eventually ended up going with Qshark b/c of their fabulous phone / customer service rep Jennifer. she was WONDERFUL and answered all of my questions and felt supportive, authentic, and honest. (i called another company right after talking to her and it was the complete opposite which caused me to call her back and book immediately.) then the moving day came - i went with 3 movers for my 1 bedroom across town to help expedite the process. i'm so glad i did as what i thought would be a few quick hours ended up being 5 hours. 5 hours where the guys - Ryan, Juan, and Daniel - worked and sweated their asses off! i have never seen people work harder - and with SUCH great attitudes and kindness and huge smiles. they were honestly so delightful from the second i met them to the 5 very sweaty, very hard earned hours later. they went ABOVE and BEYOND and my move was seamless and so "easy" - as easy as a move can be! Yesterday I used Q-Shark moving for a local move. I've used them before many years ago and it was unremarkable. Yesterday however warrants a positive review. I had Ryan C as the driver and Josh as the helper. They were neither fast nor slow, but they were deliberate and worked very well together. They came in and each person had a plan of attack and it was immediately carried out. Ryan C went to the bedroom and Josh handled the living space. There was never a time where they did not know what to do and they rarely asked me or each other any questions. It was clear they knew exactly what to do and I greatly appreciate it. I have had many moves over the past ten years and have used many different moving companies. This is the first one that warranted a review and it is well deserved. Loading was fast and efficient, truck was basically packed end to end, top to bottom. They got everything into the truck and it made it to the new house intact. I've used this company 3 times in the last 4 years for each of my moves. Every time they are highly professional, easy to work with, and provide the best quality service. This last time, Tim and another person helped me move. They texted me 15 minutes out to tell me they were approaching and were on time within the window they gave. Upon arriving they assessed what I was moving aligned with what they were prepared for and offered additional services if needed. They come ready to go the extra mile where possible. (Last time I forgot to include that I needed help moving my clothes and they had wardrobe boxes for me to use already, just in case.) It was unexpectedly raining (another rarity in SoCal) and they had additional blankets to help cover my furniture between my apartment and the truck. They brought protective covers and shrink wrap to make sure all of my furniture was transported properly. I had a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment moving from Costa Mesa to Irvine. They had my furniture and boxes that I wanted to be moved on the truck within 2hrs. They were extremely polite and worked around my dog and cat. Unloading took 30-45minutes. I paid by card and the rate was exactly as stated and fair/ comparable to other movers. Will always work with this company when possible. read more

He was energetic, beyond kind and enthusiastic and went the extra mile to ensure my husband and I were happy. This is now the 4th time we have used Qshark and we will never use anyone else. I moved from California to Michigan and rented a 26-foot truck for my 3-bedroom condo. I needed movers to load the vehicle for me and I read a lot of horror stories and saw a lot of damaged furniture photos. I was more than a bit hesitant about scheduling the right movers! So, do yourself a huge favor and schedule with this company and ask for Octavio and Francisco to move your stuff. Not only did they bust butt to get my truck loaded quickly (all without a lunch break), but they loaded it carefully making sure to strap sections so there was no shifting. I provided my own blankets and Francisco wrapped all the furniture with plastic. Octavio was a genius at loading and strapping sections to ensure there was no shifting for my 2600-mile journey. Together they made a great team! You guys rocked, and I'm thankful you were there to help me. Moving is stressful, thank you Octavio and Francisco for helping me during a very stressful time. Not a fan of moving as I'm sure you're not if you're reading this. All I can say is I had a good experience with this company. Fair in value. But I'll say the crew we got was a blessing. Donovan, Angel and Travis helped me move all my families things. From boxes to furniture. They went above the job description and truly took care of us. Wasn't an easy job. We tipped them. They said it was the largest they've ever received which for us was shocking because we felt we weren't generous but we're also not rich. After a $1800 moving bill. Overall the value was there only and I truly say this genuinely only because of these three guys. Otherwise I'm sure I would have complained about something along the way. However, I was contacted immediately afterwards from Wes trying to fix the situation. An effort being made to make things right when things initially went wrong is something I appreciate and value. He sent over a check to reimburse me on the damages and to cover the purchase of an entirely new TV stand. He also ensured to me that further teasing would be provided to their associates to prevent this from happening to future customers. Honestly if I am paying almost 500 or any money for movers I expect to not have to be working with my back issues and lifting my boxes and doing the work that's why we are paying for movers to not deal with that. One they gave us a 4hr window of arrival and the we called after 2.5hrs asking for a smaller window or eta and we were told we can't give you that only to receive a call back a few minutes later saying it will be at the end of the window meaning 5 which most storage companies close at that time. My wife and I had unloaded our entire storage unit putting tubs and boxes out so all these guys had to do was hookup and load that's it. So we literally paid 500 for us to be the moving company and do most of there work. They finally arrive and while my wife is doing paperwork you would expect no one does or touches anything until the paperwork is handled and the one guy younger guy I think starts and grabs a load of tubs we have breaking a award that was on top that took me 8yrs of work to achieve I actually had to take a walk I was so pissed off and still am. This is before the other guy doing paperwork is asking about insurance in like he already broke something just ugh. Anyways after they load the elevator take it down one guy seems to be working way harder and doing most the work than the other guy. We're in a rush because the gate to storage locks at 5 and you can't get out. We finally get everything done while they bang our stuff on the walls it seems like there is just a rush and no incentive to give a crap at how many dings and scratches they put on things. We get to the apartment finally mind you we did most of the work short of them putting it in the truck which we also did handing stuff up to them unloading and loading the elevator. For me hiring movers I should have paid myself at the rate we had to help them. We get to apartment and at one point my wife asks if I'm ok I said I just want it done she knows I am in a lot of pain with my herniated disc in my back but the second you don't actively help or work next to these guys they stopped working and are chatting and doing nothing outside as soon as I go grab a box the handicap guy starts working these guys get going like oh crap. I was so done when they finally left I said thank god. Good to know that they have a great rating but I have seen reviews of people saying they had issues then going and deleting the issues they had so no one else can see them. I would and will not ever hire this company again truly they are terrible and made a already stressful experience of moving even worse. Do your research on companies but these guys are horrible. First of all, we had a difficult move to take on. We have lived in our home since 2003 and we have a lot of stuff. Although I do not have a lot of experience with moving companies, I have to say that these guys were amazing. They were so sweet when dealing with a difficult neighbor who was upset with the truck being in "her way." They communicate so well to ensure that they put things in the correct place. And, they have the best manners, always friendly & responsive. I don't think I could be as kind and friendly hauling such heavy furniture up and down the stairs etc. Anyways, because I do not move often, I look to yelp to give me suggestions on moving companies. This company has five stars for a reason, they are amazing. They might be slightly priced higher than some of the other moving companies in orange county but I guarantee you, it's worth it. In the long run, having a good workforce is way more financially practical than hiring the company charges less and takes more time and has less quality. The other reason why I hired this company is because I noticed that when there was a problem reported on yelp, Q Shark Always responds and handles the issue amicably and fair. Their other top competitors do not do that. They ignore the yelp review. Although I do not anticipate to move again soon, I would definitely use their services again. We had such a great experience with this company. The crew was amazing - they really cared about our wishes and were very informative and helpful. We had them move most of the truck to our new home and take the rest to storage. We also had a baby grand piano delivered. We had a miscommunication in the beginning, but they quickly corrected things. It's easy to do good when there are no issues, but I really appreciate a company that handles obstacles quickly with care. Customers Beware ... my aunt recently moved and went through Qshark because of the highly rated reviews. The move itself went smoothly and on time. Shrink wrapped and padded everything properly. However once it came down to the bill the movers automatically added in a $300 gratuity and only explained the bill when asked for it to be itemized. Her English isn't very good to begin with and being a single mom she wasn't about to argue with them over the bill and just paid it. I reached out to the office and spoke to 2 different office managers both saying they would reach back out and resolve this issue after looking into it and it's been half an hour since my call as I write this review and still no call back. If it wasn't for the movers taking advantage of her and adding in their own gratuity this would have been 5 stars instead it turned into a disappointing day. Evan and Doug were so helpful in helping me move! The arrival window was set from 8-9am; however, due to traffic they arrived about 2 hours later but were very communicative of the time changes along the way. Despite this, I was not charged for their additional traveling time which I deeply appreciate. As for the move itself, they were very careful in handling my fragile items and overall were wonderful with communication. Of note, the base weight of my lamp had broken en route (it was an old lamp), but Doug was kind enough to repair it with no extra charge to the time. QShark indeed does provide wardrobe boxes, additional empty boxes, and furniture wrapping, and DOES serve the Riverside County area! I shortlisted and booked QShark as they could accommodate our date, I was pleasantly surprised at the responsiveness via phone, the scheduling process, the call day-before the move and the courtesy call prior to arrival of our 3-man crew. Josh, Cody and Jake arrived on schedule and were awesome! They got straight to work, asked questions when needed, and worked well as a team. They disassembled (and later reassembled) bedroom sets, wrapped living room furniture and took care to not damage floors or walls. There are so many delicate items, & we had been so concerned that someone would take care of all of it the way we would. They did nothing short of that! Have moved a few times, this is my worst moving experience... - Thought it would be quick - for a studio, it took 5+ hours, with less than 10 minutes drive. - Have specifically asked to dissemble a bed frame - movers come with no equipment at all (not even a screwdriver) - Was told movers will help finalize some of the packing - Did not help at all, and, just throw everything together without asking... even with bags full of garbage... - need to constantly remind them to wrap things and not damage things... One shelf broken, one TV cabinet damaged, everything put in a mess... and WORST is, I specifically asked movers to help throw away my bed frame, which they promised to take care and "properly dispose".
