I recently used OC Moving Services for a local move within the same apartment complex. Jessica, who coordinated the move, was professional, patient, and kind throughout the entire setup process. The crew--Juan, Joshua, and Joel--were incredibly professional and hardworking. What I thought would be a simple 5-hour move ended up taking over 9 hours. While the duration was unexpected, I attribute it to the long walks from my four storage closets to the elevator. Even though the day grew long and the physical toll was evident, the guys stayed honest and worked the entire time. The Good: Only one minor damaged item out of an entire household. Zero damage to the walls/floors of either apartment. The team was incredibly kind, making it impossible to stay frustrated. They offer flexible payment options (Credit Card, Zelle, Cash). Room for Improvement: I would love to see moving companies offer more "flat-rate" structures or do "mid-way time checks." I had budgeted for 5 hours, and suddenly needing an extra $1,000 at the end of the day was incredibly stressful. Thankfully, their Zelle option saved the day! I definitely recommend them. My only critique would be to please make sure the movers wrap every cushion of the couches. They wrapped almost everything.The mattresses were all wrapped up but my largest couch cushion arrived to our new apartment wet and stained with grease/dirt. I used this service again because I had a really positive experience the first time. I didn't get the discount through the Mod24 trial this time, but I think their prices are reasonably competitive if paid in cash, though I wish they didn't require a $200 deposit by card, which has a 5% transaction fee... I reserved a morning spot (9-10 AM arrival) because they told me the window for arrival would be smaller than an evening appointment. They did arrive just past 10 due to understaffing around the holidays, which is understandable, but I wish I had not been advised to be ready for them to contact me any time between 7-9. Just expect that they will arrive generally on time. Juan and Jonathan moved my studio apartment into storage. Juan was especially friendly, with lots of jokes and helpful expertise that somehow fit all my things into the fairly tight storage unit. He also accommodated my concerns about stacking heavy items on delicate furniture and flimsier containers. Overall, some things could've been better, but I would still use this service again. read more
