We were informed that the crew became lost for approximately 30 minutes and mistakenly arrived at a church before locating our new residence. Although the distance between the properties did not justify such a lengthy travel time, the movers did not arrive until approximately 3:56 p.m. Upon arrival, the crew immediately requested another break. One mover stated that they were legally entitled to a break, which further delayed unloading. More concerning, despite hiring a four-person crew, only one individual appeared capable of properly reassembling furniture. During the move, substantial damage occurred. Our baby's crib was broken, our Tempur-Pedic mattress valued at approximately $10,000 was damaged, and our brand-new flooring was scratched. In addition, the movers left shrink wrap, food waste, and other debris in our green waste bin before leaving the property. We immediately contacted the owner, Vas, regarding the damaged crib and expressed concern about where our baby would sleep that night. His response was that an insurance claim could be filed, but that the process would take time. At approximately 7:30 p.m., the crew was still at our home, yet little meaningful progress was being made. The owner then presented two options: (1) receive a 30% discount and have the shed assembled (remind you that this was the plan before scheduling), or (2) pursue compensation through the company's insurance process. Based on those representations, we chose the 30% discount and expected the shed assembly to be completed as promised. Ultimately, we paid approximately $2,000 in cash. Despite the agreement, the crew later informed us that they would not be assembling the shed after all. They departed around 9:30 p.m., leaving us with damaged property, an unfinished project, and a moving experience that fell far below reasonable expectations.
