I moved from SoCal to NorCal, with next day delivery. The day of the loading was fine, with 3 guys sent for loading and all appeared to be with the company. The next day at drop off, only one of the guys was the same from the day before. The other 2 movers arrived 30+ minutes later and we were then told by one of them that he was hired off of Craigslist and being paid under the table. One of the 2 Craigslist movers left 1 hour into the move. The 2nd guy was hired off of Craigslist for only 3 hours, so he stopped working at the 3 hour mark while all of our boxes were still in the truck waiting for unloading. What really made the experience even worse was that their unvetted, Craigslist mover started demanding payment from Busy Bee over the phone, and Busy Bee refused to pay him. The mover then started cursing and yelling over the phone, threatening to slash the truck's tires and break the windshields. He even grabbed a hammer to go over to the windshield. This created quite a commotion on our new street and we feared for our items that were still in the truck. Busy Bee didn't have enough money to pay him, so they had to ask US for cash to pay the guy. There was only one mover left for the rest of the move. My fiance had to help the guy move our items. If we had to do the move ourselves, we wouldn't have hired anyone! I talked to Mike over the phone who said the guys worked for them and they wouldn't be hiring them again, which was a clear lie considering the mover told us he had a full time job lined up for the day after. Mike kept saying they hired additional guys to make our experience better, which clearly did the opposite. It seemed like Mike was getting lost in his own lies, saying the movers worked for him and then saying he wouldn't hire them again. Only positive was that we were refunded for 2 items the movers broke. They gave us a small percentage off for the unloading day too, but not enough to make up for what they did. If you want a mover that will give random, unvetted individuals off of the internet access to your home and all your belongings, go ahead and hire them. Maybe they work for short distance moves, but they clearly take cost-cutting shortcuts with the long distance ones.

We did not use any packing services, but Jason helped me put a big flat screen TV into its original box in the very specific way I wanted to do it. The move cost was purely hourly (double time during the 1-1.5 hr drive from pickup to dropoff) with the addition of a heavy item fee for a large old china cabinet. The grand total was just under $1200. The only damage was a bent knob on my TV stand cabinet, which turned out to just be a bent screw. I didn't bother to report this to them, I just got a replacement screw at Home Depot. I would definitely contact them again if I need to move locally!

After years and years of hanging on to "things" I never used, sold or donated and thus making our garage a messy, unsightly and unusable place, I changed my mindset, thanks to Ariane and Shannon and couldn't be happier AND healthier. It feels much better to live in the present than to hang on to things from my past. These are things I decided someone else could much better use and enjoy, and the adage, if you haven't used it in a year, you don't "need" it, is so true. Ariane and Shannon helped me and my husband to sort, donate, toss or keep so many things we had saved for 20 or more years. They also offer to take items to donate as well. I learned about my city's (Fullerton) numerous opportunities for large item pick ups and extra trash pick ups (for an added fee) in the process. I became a familiar face at our local disposal place, which I (don't laugh) was kinda nervous about going to before, and that's why so many things didn't get "dumped." Our garage now has useable totes and shelves and designated spaces for items we truly need and use for our home and life. Big pluses for "The Clutter Nanny" are that both Ariane and Shannon are punctual, hard working, organized, great communicators and schedulers, conscientious, creative, and fantastic problem solvers. Now, and for our future, we have our two-car garage back and I look FORWARD to doing my laundry, storing and easily getting outdoor accessories and decor, easily finding camping items and tools to use indoors and outdoors.
