Our initial experience with Closet & Garage Remedy was actually when I decided we needed to get all the junk off the floor of our garages. They had become a dump zone, and I thought I just needed overhead rack storage. So I contacted a few overhead storage people, they came out, and - long story short - it turned out not to be the solution for us. I ended up researching wall-based storage systems, and CGR was the first company to schedule a visit. Jeff came out to measure up and show us options. As we talked it through, we saw that we had other needs that could be addressed: putting the freezer somewhere sensible, getting rid of the mish mash of plastic shelves, cabinets, and shoe racks we'd amassed over the years, and getting even more shelving so we could move seasonal decoration to the garage too. We then noticed that CGR does epoxy flooring, something we have been curious about for decades. So we decided Why The Heck Not - and we went for the whole package: epoxy flooring, shelving, and built in cabinets with a workspace. For the first time in 8 houses, we'd have a Grown Up Garage! Top tip for my fellow Yelpers though: plan for more shoe storage than you think. Thank me later! Jeff sketched out the design then and there, and gave us excellent pricing with absolutely no pressure, which was awesome. In short order, Sylvia called us to schedule the work and the installation began: first the epoxy flooring, then the slatwall, cabinets, and shelving. The installation team were super efficient and kept everything clean as they worked and when they finished each day. If there were any issues that we found, they either fixed it the same day or returned to address it without any questions. We were so pleased with the result that we decided to do a second round to add more slatwall and shelving - because there is never too much space for organizing! We have now used up almost all of the shelving and we're still noodling through all the possibilities with the slatwall, but already we feel so much relief and zen from having a neat garage. Not only can we find everything we need without an archaeological expedition, we were able to move a ton of lesser-used items out of our master closet so we could more aesthetically organize that too. So don't think the benefits of garage storage only improve the garage! If you would like to experience the same kind of relief and zen in your garage, I can't recommend CGR enough. You may, like me, also find yourself tempted to extend the zen beyond your garage, like I did with the pantry (my previous review). No matter what you choose, you won't regret it!

Trevor came out for our initial quote, and we were immediately impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. He was straightforward about what could and couldn't be done and offered solutions to help bring our vision to life. A few days later, he drew up the plans for the cabinets. We requested a few changes to the original design, and he was incredibly understanding, accommodating, and just as excited as we were to see the finished product. The installation process was quick and professional, and the team was punctual on the scheduled installation dates. During the installation, they noticed that one of the cabinet doors had been scratched, and they returned the following week to replace it and make sure everything was right. We are so happy with how our garage turned out! The quality of their work, professionalism, and knowledge really stood out throughout the entire process. Measurements were taken multiple times over a long scheduling delay, yet the installation still did not match the approved drawings. Cabinets installed in one room were incorrect and had to be removed and redone, causing further delays. Issues known before installation were not addressed and later treated as "change orders" instead of corrective work. Scheduling to fix problems was slow, and completion was conditioned on additional paperwork rather than compliance with the approved design. Most concerning was the willingness to rely on lien procedures while the work remained incomplete. Taking this approach on a ~$30,000 project is disarming. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this company. Who puts a clothes rod over a water pipeline? Where's common sense?

After years and years of hanging on to "things" I never used, sold or donated and thus making our garage a messy, unsightly and unusable place, I changed my mindset, thanks to Ariane and Shannon and couldn't be happier AND healthier. It feels much better to live in the present than to hang on to things from my past. These are things I decided someone else could much better use and enjoy, and the adage, if you haven't used it in a year, you don't "need" it, is so true. Ariane and Shannon helped me and my husband to sort, donate, toss or keep so many things we had saved for 20 or more years. They also offer to take items to donate as well. I learned about my city's (Fullerton) numerous opportunities for large item pick ups and extra trash pick ups (for an added fee) in the process. I became a familiar face at our local disposal place, which I (don't laugh) was kinda nervous about going to before, and that's why so many things didn't get "dumped." Our garage now has useable totes and shelves and designated spaces for items we truly need and use for our home and life. Big pluses for "The Clutter Nanny" are that both Ariane and Shannon are punctual, hard working, organized, great communicators and schedulers, conscientious, creative, and fantastic problem solvers. Now, and for our future, we have our two-car garage back and I look FORWARD to doing my laundry, storing and easily getting outdoor accessories and decor, easily finding camping items and tools to use indoors and outdoors. All our garage clutter is gone, and with this mindset, which Ariane and Shannon fostered in me, which feels and IS healthy, I am positive, I will not go back to clutter again. Marla assured me they were trained and could do this seamlessly without having me manage the job or interfere with their work. It was all clear and agreed prior to hiring Marla. I am a busy, professional single mom so I had no issue paying for and hiring a professional to make my life easier. **I wasn't seeking a cheap solution rather a much needed professional service. I have no problem paying for quality. If I was looking for budget I would of hired the desperate men in front of Home Depot! Basically unpacking consisted of just opening boxes putting items alla wherever, and leaving piles of boxes and trash in front of the home. I had to re-do the unpacking and organizing that was done. Even a simple linen closet is linens taken straight from the box, not refolded. Looked like they were flung onto the shelves. My kitchen was unpacked by the nicest girl but items were not well thought out as they were put away so the flow of the kitchen is totally off. Things were unpacked without any thought. No order. The crew claims they worked hard and the house didn't have enough space however this is a much larger home then from where I moved- double in size in an upscale gated community. My prior home was not cluttered and was a much smaller space. I had very little stored in garage so the excuses were not adding up. I understand moving is challenging but this was a job going downhill quickly. The unpacking and organizing was not high quality at all. My new home was left with boxes still in the garage pilled high and furniture never made it to the correct rooms. After 2 days of unpacking with Marla's company I decided to cancel the rest of the work. I just wanted them out! I feel after nearly $2000. That this was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional and I was being duped. Over promised, over sold and under delivered. I didn't want to continue paying them for sloppy work although would have continued to pay them to finish the job if they were worth it. We redid the primary bedroom closet and added a miscellaneous pantry-style closet to our 1970's San Clemente beach condo which was crying for storage space. We added an outlet to the closet and Jaye gave me exact location measurements for our electrician to work with. Spot on perfect. The installation was done in one day. Because we chose backless closets, we chose to have our contractor prep the areas first to have the wall paint match the rest of the room. Pricing on the entire closet system was a pleasant surprise as we have worked with other closet system companies on other projects. I loved the hardware choices, too!
