This was something I was actually going back and forth on for a really long time, and I had so many people telling me not to do it and how it would look weird or there wouldn't be enough space in the kitchen, etc. After renovations, I'm so glad we got an island because it's functional and it really elevates the space, I love it. All her measurements and recommendations are spot on. Ammie took a lot of stress and weight off my shoulders because I knew whatever she recommended was in my best interest and aesthetic. In the past, they generally did…read moregreat work and I was impressed with their staging style, professionalism, availability, and pricing. That said, my most recent experience was disappointing. I had them stage a modern townhouse in Costa Mesa near the beach. Unfortunately, the staging style they chose did not match the aesthetic of the property at all. I am not a designer, so I typically trust their vision and let them take the lead. This time, I reached out to their team and simply asked if we could swap out a few items to make the space feel more modern or beachy. I was told I would need to pay a restocking fee. That response was frustrating. I had referred them many jobs and clients in the past, and while the fee itself was not a large amount, it felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. They did eventually waive the fee, which I appreciated, but the situation already felt mishandled. Fast forward a bit. The property did not sell, and I requested that it be de-staged. Their team came out a few days later and removed the furniture. A few months after that, they emailed both me and my client, who was the actual party to the staging contract, claiming there was a prorated balance due for a few extra days the furniture remained in the home. The amount was under $400. The contract was between my client and 1st Stage, not me, so I was confused as to why I was included. Shortly after, Mark Sutton emailed me directly asking if I could take care of the payment by the next day. I found that extremely unprofessional. Agents are the ones who bring them business, and asking me to personally pay an invoice that had nothing to do with me showed a real lack of business judgment. I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, and the only response I received was a payment link. If you are looking for a stager who truly feels like a partner and values long-term relationships, I would think twice before using this company. In my experience, once an issue arises, you are treated like just another number, and preserving relationships does not seem to be a priority.

Joe did an excellent job -- A+ -- on my shower replacement and I am very pleased with the result…read more Joe came to estimate the work, providing good suggestions (enlarging size, adding bench, angled glass enclosure). He gave me a reasonable price with no pressure. The job involved removing the old tub/shower, replacing the plumbing, building a bench, wet-mopping, adding cement-backing, installing porcelain tile, replacing the flooring, adding drywall (including re-stucco-ing, and repainting). Each team - demolition, plumber, framing, wet-mop, tiler, dry-wall/painter - was professional, competent, hardworking, and clean-minded. Keep in mind that this is not a one day job --- mine took 1 1/2 weeks. Joe was always responsive to my calls and kept the job moving. Also, his quote does not include the glass enclosure. Joe sent me a good glass enclosure contractor and he added an additional week - 1 day for estimate, 5 days to cut/temper the glass, and one day to install. I enjoyed watching them work. To get the job done right, there is a lot of expertise involved. My wife was so grateful that she always provided snacks and water for the crews.

My experience with Joe, the manager who handled most of the communication, was terrible. In my opinion, he did not have enough hands-on construction knowledge to properly manage a remodel. He seemed to rely almost entirely on what his employees or subcontractors told him, even when they were wrong. When I pointed out mistakes, he often pushed back, blamed me, or tried to make me pay to fix issues caused by his own crew. A few examples: -We specified grout colors, and they used them on the wrong tiles and areas. -The wrong sinks were ordered. -The wrong faucets were ordered. -The wrong tiles were ordered. -The wrong counter top was delivered. -Kitchen cabinets were faulty and installed improperly. -They promised one type of flooring, then delivered something completely different, including a different color, and installed it incorrectly. -They tried to conceal faulty piping inside my walls. Had I not walked in unexpectedly, I would never have seen it. -They poured a foundation for a small extension without making it deep enough or installing a moisture barrier. We now have tiles showing signs of moisture damage. -They did not repaint several rooms. They cleaned the walls and then claimed the rooms had been painted. -The electrician made serious mistakes, including issues that almost caused a fire in my house. The overall pattern was simple: -They made mistakes. -I had to catch the mistakes. -Joe often tried to shift blame. -They tried to charge me to fix problems they caused. I also felt like Joe tried to take advantage of me financially. He handwrote the quote and invoice, and I trusted that the items we discussed would be handled as agreed. Later, he tried to back away from what had been discussed and claimed certain items were not included. Only after I involved the owner did Joe back down and admit he had made a mistake. There were also major management and communication problems: -Joe is not the contractor who owns the business. -From what I saw, there was no professional contractor consistently supervising the crew. -Joe would come by occasionally, look around, speak with the crew, and leave. -The crew often seemed confused about what needed to be done. -Communication between Joe and the crew appeared poor, which caused constant errors. The crew was also a revolving door. Different people came on different days. One person would start the flooring, and others would come later to finish it. The same thing happened with tile, plumbing, electrical work, and other parts of the project. Each time someone new showed up, they seemed to have little or no idea what had been agreed to. Joe also asked personal questions that made us uncomfortable, including: -Where are you from? -What do you do? -Can I see your cars? -"Wow, you went to that restaurant? It's very expensive." -"This was an expensive house. You must be very rich." That felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. Overall, this was a nightmare experience. Never again. The only reason I am giving two stars is that they finished quickly, and by the end, I was simply relieved to have them gone.

They were professional - Will gave me a call when they were 20 minutes away and texted me when their ETA got pushed back a little. It actually took a full day and then a couple of hours the next day to finish our house, but Will and Kyle had no qualms coming back the next day and made sure our yard and house (including our outdoor furniture) were spotless of debris from the roof and the house was cleaned to my satisfaction. Nothing was broken! It was very easy to schedule with Brett. He even called to check on how things were going at our house from out-of-town. We had our closet and pantry redone and this company listened to all my requests and went above and beyond! Classy Closets were able to mount directly onto our wall as we requested, whereas other companies turned us down for that. Their prices are very reasonable and their designer, Marlise, was super friendly and beyond amazing throughout the entire process. Her suggestions excelled the project and she was super responsive to all my detailed questions. The installers were also really professional and amazing. While they were mounting a final piece, they were so nice to double-check a measurement with me before mounting it and their thoughtful consideration helped us move the piece and make the final result look even better. A designer named Michelle (if I remember her name correctly) came to our home to take measurements. Our closets are unusually deep--about 25 inches--and I specifically emphasized that I wanted the full depth to be used. She assured me that wouldn't be a problem, so I trusted her. After approving the design, I signed the contract, assuming it reflected what we had discussed. Fortunately, I happened to review the plans again before installation and discovered that the shelves had been designed with a standard depth of only 8 inches instead of using the full depth of our custom closets. When I brought this to their attention, I expected them to correct what I believed was a clear misunderstanding. Instead, I was told that the materials had already been ordered and that 99% of their customers use standard-depth shelves. That completely misses the point--we hired them to build custom closets, not standard ones. We tried multiple times to work out a reasonable solution, but the company was unwilling to take responsibility or meaningfully discuss alternatives. Their communication was frustrating, and the customer service throughout the process was extremely disappointing. My advice is to review every single measurement and detail before signing anything, even if you've discussed everything in person. Don't assume the design reflects what was agreed upon. Based on my experience, this company did not deliver the level of customization or customer service I expected. This is a very shade company stay away.

This company has been around for more than two decades and the whole team is awesome to work with. Over the years, Cabinet's Plus has designed, built and installed cabinets for my brother-in-law, mother-in-law, a good friend and a neighbor. Now, it was my turn! Greg Baird, Master Designer, came out to discuss my proposed layout. He actually talked me out of installing additional cabinets because he had the foresight that it would be too cramped and crowded. And boy, was he right. I am so glad I took his direction. I decided to kick it up a notch and chose the Storm Grey Laminate. It really came out great and looks even better than I was expecting. The quality of the material, the hinges and the overall workmanship is best-in-class. The guys that install it are really good too. George (30+ year employee) and Allen arrived on time, worked as a team and installed all the parts flawlessly. They are real installation professionals and take great pride in their work. Cabinets Plus should be your "Go To" place for garage and closet cabinetry. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

She took extra time to understand what we wanted and asked so many good questions on how we use the space . The price was in the middle compared to the other bids we got. We picked her and her team because she suggested a way of designing the closet we were having a hard time with in a totally different way no one thought about and it came out amazing. The installers Javi and Juan are very detail oriented and hard workers. They made sure all the details like scribe and trim were all done perfect. Pictures don't do it justice. We have so much more space now!
