TLDR: Don't waste your time, because you will get mistakes (and now gaslighting) and be ghosted. **UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE BUSINESS' REPLY: First, this job was from 2024, not 2021. I have posted the entire text chain and an image of an email clearly showing this. The date you're referring to says "Oct 21" as in Oct 21, 2024. Not 2021. It's very telling that you don't even remember a job from only a year ago that was over a week long. You couldn't even be bothered to look up the old invoice to see when this job was? Second of all, the messages in the text photos saying "following up on this" and "following up again" are from ME, not you. That was ME following up with YOU after I said I wanted to go ahead with the repair, and you not answering. So your statement that you have not heard from me is patently untrue. That was ME who hadn't heard from YOU. The text chain clearly shows this. Third, the damage was caused by a complete lack of caulk on the cabinet, not "debris in constant contact." There is no "standing water" and no debris in "constant contact." You're making that up, it simply is not the case. The other side is caulked and is still fine, as I pointed out in my texts. I am aware that paint and caulk can only do so much - but guess what? It can do nothing if you don't actually do it in the first place. I am aware of how wood reacts with water (and it's not wood, because you use mdf, which is far worse). The fact remains that the area was not caulked AT ALL and also that I followed up with you multiple times and received no answer. Do not gaslight me by acting like you "never heard back." I clearly stated that I wanted you to do the repairs and you never got back to me. It's all right there in the texts. **ORIGINAL REVIEW** Sadly, I have to echo the other reviews on here about the owner ghosting people. I hired OC Kitchen Designs to reface our kitchen cabinets. They weren't the cheapest but they had good reviews. We experienced problems from the beginning. The job was quoted as going to take 3 days - it took more than a week. The painter took far longer than the 1 day it was supposed to take. He brought his whole family on a Saturday and had his wife and young kids helping - the young kids did not do a great job (they aren't pros and should not have been there). He should have come by himself. I found VERY obvious drips and runs on the main cabinet that gets used the most, right at eye level. Glenn said he would fix it. I asked him if he would spray it so it would look even with the rest and he said yes. When he came, he simply brushed over it, leaving very obvious brush marks and color difference. I could have done that myself!! There were so many issues, in fact, that Glenn ended up giving me $250 off, which was the price of the custom wine rack he put in, "because of all the problems." So I will give him credit for that. But... A while later we discovered that the painter had not caulked a major area right next to the stove. A whole corner hadn't been caulked at all, so moisture and liquid had gotten under it and it started to swell. Since he uses mdf and not actual wood, the swelling was pretty severe. I texted Glenn about it and he tried to indicate that it wasn't his fault because "there was probably caulk there, but it's a kitchen and we aren't responsible for water damage." I build furniture and have a woodworking shop and CNC machine. I know what I'm talking about. I've done major repairs to my home. I hired OC Kitchen Designs because I have two young kids and no time, not because I'm an idiot. I know when something has been caulked and when it hasn't. I told him if he came to see it he would clearly see that his painter screwed this up and didn't caulk it (and I have photos and videos). He said he could fix it for $200. I wasn't happy since I believe you should stand by your work, but I agreed to it. He said he could probably come out the next week, he just had to check on this other job (in line with the excuses he's given other people according to these reviews). I texted to follow up several times and no response. He ghosted me rather than come fix his company's mistake. He's a nice enough guy I guess, but I think he's overscheduled. In any event the ghosting is crazy unprofessional. Now I have to hire somebody else to come fix it. read more

We had a most peculiar interaction with Glenn. He came out to our house. Measured the kitchen and sent a quote within a couple days. The quote seemed reasonable, and his reviews were great, so we decided to use him. He seemed like a nice guy. He even offered to work up a sample cabinet door to our specifications. Then we never heard from him. When I called, he said he tore a ligament in his arm (or something like that) and wouldn't be able to do the job. Somehow, I could tell this was not the truth and when I reminded him the job wouldn't be until next year, I received no response. He just ghosted us. We just completed our kitchen refacing with Glenn and his crew. In short they did a phenomenal job! In more detail they were nearly perfectionists in lining up the cabinets, ensuring everything was exactly as we envisioned it. I really want to highlight a few things about the experience that I feel are important when selecting a cabinet refacing company. Typically when we start a project, we are given a timeline and I always.... always overestimate that timeline as they never come true. With Glenn, he is the first contractor I have worked with in our house that actually followed through on commitments and got our kitchen done from signature to completion in less than 6 weeks (not 6 weeks of install! But 6 weeks all in from ordering materials to completion). The process begins at signature and we selected our cabinet design. We didn't want the cracks that occur between the edges of the center panel and the outer panels of a shaker cabinet. To remedy this Glenn recommended a routed MDF door which shaved some $ off as well as looks amazing now that they are up. Don't be afraid of MDF, it feels heavier than the real wood product and it's durable. Also you can get the MDF doors painted ANY color you want if you go this route, in lieu of thermafoil. From there we waited... Glenn got us scheduled once the doors were back from the finisher and the process began. It was a total of 7 business days to complete the project and our kitchen is large. TLDR: If you're considering hiring OC Kitchen Designs for your project, this is your sign! I cannot recommend Glenn and his whole team enough. From our first call to finishing the very last detail, they were incredible. We hired OC Kitchen Designs to refinish our kitchen that probably dates back to the 80s. I was hesitant as I didn't know much about the refacing process, but Glenn assured me it would look brand new - and he was right! Although our kitchen layout remained the same, Glenn was super helpful in identifying opportunities for potential improvement. He really "got" my vision and had great ideas too. Some of the custom changes we made included: building a custom cabinet with pocket doors to house small appliances out of sight on the countertop, and moving an outlet to accommodate those appliances; creating a new pull-out drawer for trash and recycling; building a deeper cabinet above the fridge and added a side panel for a built-in look; adding an extra drawer for silverware; and installing a small drawer on tilt-out hinges in front of the kitchen sink. He also installed a wood beam where our kitchen and dining area meet. The process only took a few days and the guys were very nice, clean and efficient. I'm probably more particular than many clients and I absolutely love the result. All hinges are soft-close, drawers are brand new and the color looks fantastic. I also worked with a partner of Glenn's to have new countertops, a sink and backsplash installed. Everyone I encountered through the whole process was terrific. I don't get it. Glenn came out to our house and took measurements on a Saturday morning. We spoke about the project and he even gave me a ballpark figure. This was a project we were ready to do. He said he would have the estimate over to me on Monday. I didn't receive anything, so I waited a few more days and sent him a message on Thursday. No response. I know life happens - I was thinking maybe something happened? I waited a week and called. Glenn answered the phone and I let him know I had not received the estimate yet and I was really looking forward to having him do the job. He said he was on a job site at the moment and would check and see what happened when he got back to the office. I guess he never got back to the office. Never heard from him. Against my better judgement, I called him again a week later and got a voicemail. I let him know I had not received anything from him and asked him if he would please let me know if he was no longer interested in the job so I could find someone else. Never heard a word. If he died, then I apologize for this one star review. If he's still alive, then you would think he would be professional enough to return a message and not completely flake out and ghost his customers. I wanted to say how pleased I am with my new kitchen and bathrooms done by OC Kitchen Designs. A few months ago I wanted to refresh my bathroom and kitchens and started looking at refacing companies. I shopped a big company that did lots of advertising and then I also got a quote from OC Kitchen Design. The latter quote was substantially cheaper and I saw that they had good reviews.
