My wife and I reached out to multiple remodeling companies to remodel our kitchen, three bathrooms, and wood flooring. We ultimately decided to go with Apex KBF after meeting with Tony. His quoted price was reasonable not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive compared to other companies. We could not be happier with how everything turned out. Their flexibility, professionalism, and most importantly the quality of work exceeded our expectations. Any remodeling process can be overwhelming but Tony simplified things for us. As soon as construction started, the foreman, and his team, were on site every morning, Monday through Friday (and sometimes Saturday!), 8am-5pm, like clockwork, until the job was done. Who is one of the worst customers to be faced with? An engineer, because we want to know and look at every single detail of the job before, during, and after. Ben has the patience of a saint in dealing with his customers. He is ALWAYS friendly and stays on top of the job, big or small, with frequent updates on the work and the schedule. I wanted my kitchen cabinets either painted, refaced, or replaced. When Ben came out to give me an estimate he told me he was a replace-only business. I told him my upper budget limit and was surprised when I got an estimate 15% under, with all new cabinets and countertops included. These aren't contractor grade cabinets either (though the Jarlin cabinets aren't perfect on the interior, but I'm very picky). I was really surprised to find out that I was getting a corner cabinet with lazy susans included, how cool is that! I also had Ben's tile guy install a new kitchen floor, bringing me right to my budget limit for cabinets and counters only, and had his crew install laminate I already purchased through the rest of the house. Of the three installers that did the different jobs, the laminate installers totally blew me away. The flooring really is perfect. For the other work, I had only minor cosmetic issues and those were taken care of quickly with no complaints from Ben to my satisfaction. In my case each of the three jobs went over the original time estimate by one or two days, and each of the installers came in on Saturdays to try to finish quicker. As far as the money budget, the costs were exactly what was quoted with the exception of a couple pattern changes and material upgrades I requested after they started. The plumbing materials for the drain on the new kitchen sink were also not included but I knew that in advance and even with a couple of surprises it was under $100 - less than 1% of the total job. The work is done, my interior is close to spotless in the aftermath, and best of all my condo looks fabulous in part due to Ben's suggestion for colors and patterns. I wish I weren't moving so far away, I'd love to use Apex for projects in my new house. read more

After reviewing the positive comments here on yelp, I called this place because it was close to where I live. Ben came out same day which was nice, took measurements and I thought I'd get a quote right there and then. But he left and I never heard back from him again. Left VM, no return call! Very competitive price and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Replaced tile in kitchen and dining room and work was completed ahead of schedule. Being very used to having to clean up after a contractor leaves, I was pleasantly surprised to find no evidence of them having been there other than the new tile. Especially impressed with the straightforward discussion regarding one wall which was not true - throwing a row of tiles very slightly off kilter relative to the wall well into the project, with offer to tear it out and do it again. Ben was great! We had a massive insurance loss at our new home. All of our laminate and ceramic tile needed to be replaced. We visited his show room in Lake Forest and selected our floor, brought home the samples and got great pricing. Once the work began, his guys were great. Had no issues getting the flooring and baseboards installed. Everything looks great and about a month later we are still happy with the materials we selected and the work. He also even had his guys come back a fix a few things that we forgot to make sure were done at the end of the job. I'm going to use him again for our master bathroom remodel later on! read more

I want to start out by saying the tile work they did on our bathroom floors and in our shower is great. I would recommend them for strictly tile work only. However, my husband asked them if they could also do a bath & shower install, and that's why I cannot give them 5 stars. I am happy with our tile work, but our bath is not level (water pools in the front right corner), I don't think the correct piping was used in the drain, and gas comes back up and makes the bathroom smell. There is a 3/4" gap between the shower head and the wall, and the faucet and the wall. The back panel behind the water handle wasn't glued down so it spins. For the amount of money we spent, I was hoping to be happier with my shower. read more
