Wow! Now bad for beach food!! Usually the kind of food you'll find by the beach are crappy food. I've been here a couple of times and lunch does not disappoint. It seems like it would just be a mediocre food, but it's actually not bad and it's amazing for beach food and they take their time to cook it today. I had chicken teriyaki bowl. I gave it an eight out of 10 amazing!! So glad we have this kind of place by the beach now hoping that it will stay open for a long ha

I love the beach, and while Long Beach isn't the beach that I usually go to, I'm so glad I did today. This little gem is right on the beach, just steps from the water. The menu is pretty big and had quite a variety, especially for a place with a walk up order window. There are sandwiches and wraps, salads, breakfast, burritos, ice cream and Italian iced, and even a puppy patty for your dog. Even better, they serve beers, hard seltzers, wine, cocktails, and even champagne. Grab a table in the sun, or, like us, under the shade of a palm tree. The area is corded of with an orange rope, and there is axe throwing (no worries--plastic access) and cornhole. We ordered antipasto salad, a white cheddar cheeseburger with chips, and, of course, the Labubu mocktail. We enjoyed all!

Was so happy to see that they had vegan options available. Their menu is quite varied and I liked that there was something for everyone. I even noticed that they were quite thoughtful like a water-bowl for dogs, etc. This place is a nice place to hangout by the beach and the playground is just next to it. We ordered two vegan burritos and an oat milk coffee. The burrito was very delicious, beyond my expectations. Polite staff. We are definitely visiting them again!!

The burrito I went for vs. The burrito I got
Nancy V.

When we got there, there were only two other parties seated. The guy at the window told us he'd be right with us to take our order -- no big deal, he came back about 7 minutes later. We placed our order, paid for parking (45 minutes), and got settled in thinking breakfast would be out soon. Big mistake. It took almost 50 minutes for two breakfast burritos to come out. I know because I had to add another 25 minutes to my parking just waiting for the food. When the burritos finally arrived, they looked nothing like the ones promoted on their social media. They were small, flat, and looked like they were missing half the ingredients. Considering they only have one breakfast burrito and a vegan version on the menu, it's not like we ordered the wrong thing. Overall, the experience was just bad from start to finish -- painfully slow service, underwhelming food, and definitely not worth the time or money. I left feeling disappointed and honestly ripped off. (I'm sharing pix of what I went for vs what I got)

Great space, accessible prices. Can't beat the view! Love what the owners are doing for the community.

Me sitting with injury leg thinking I was going to get food I paid for... but no.

Worst experience ever. I just bought a bought two beers and a burger (that comes with chips) I waited over an hour and did not receive my food. And for the record I just started walking again last week! When I placed my order I asked if the burger was quick being I just started walking. This man said yes. I then asked for fries and he said that "takes longer" I asked how long he say 15 mins. I said nah I'll just take my burger and chips with two beers. ONE HOUR LATER NOTHING. Just the two beers. When I asked him what happened this man said it was my fault???? I will never come here again. And I tipped him to rob me! Make it make sense! Sad that an establishment can function on the beach like this! 100's thumbs down! And I've never left a review!

Love this spot! It's a perfect blend of scenic views, hearty and freshly cooked food, and a spot for a casual drink after a nice walk on the beach. It is a bit pricey but that's not surprising given that it's literally on the sand (warning: chairs and tables are indeed on the sand, dress appropriately) and since it's freshly made it takes about 15 minutes to get your food (so get a drink while you wait or read a book). Perfectly between Gaucho and Belmont Brew if you want to do a beach walking beer/food tour!

Been here a couple times when they 1st opened and they're still here. This is my distraction place since I jog along the beach and this is at either my 1.9mils or 4.9mils - tempting to stop by for a cup of joe or some breakfast sandwiches...the joint is right on the sand and on the beach plus next to parking lot, restrooms, rental place and kid's playground. Also it is tiny distance away from the LB museum. The seating is on the sand and got several games and the view of the Pacific Ocean and under palm trees. Also you can see the Queen Mary plus any cruise ship that dock right next to it. Service is great & friendly, and if you expecting fast service, this wouldn't be the place since it's more of the layback, chill, relax type of place. There is a sign that said "we don't make fast food, we make great food as fast as we can." Quality wise, not bad at all. Price

We had a beach day with a friend recently and she grabbed us coffees from this spot when we first arrived. Their iced coffee is SO GOOD!! And silly me forgot to pack lunch. At around 2pm me and my daughter were getting hangry. So I walked over to this spot to pick up some food. I got my daughter a cheese quesadilla and I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Their little patio seating area is so nice. Great location. The service was fairly quick and the gal at the order window was nice.

Decided to stop by here for lunch after dropping some friends off in Long Beach. This is a small and casual restaurant right on the beach. Food was good overall. Really enjoyed the quesadilla with the spicy sauce that came with it. The cheese steaks were good but not great. My friend felt the chicken one missed the mark and could have been seasoned better. The chips that came with the cheese steaks were crispy and not oily. Service was quick and friendly. There's a large metered parking lot right next to the spot. Overall, this is a good spot for a casual lunch during a day at the beach.

Love this place so much! The locations is beautiful and sits right on the beach. Always great music they often play thievery corporation and bob marley! The service is great, prices are right and love the food! My personal fave is the beef bowl it's fresh and served over rice with steamed veggies.

There is a large parking lot for Junipero Beach, if you turn on Junipero from Ocean.

Do they cook with canola oil?

Do they accept Apple Pay? Would be very helpful with everyone exercising that doesn't have a wallet handy

Yes we do!!

Currently they are closed Mondays and Wednesdays, open all other days. HOWEVER, they are frequently closed on days they're supposed to be open, so I usually call ahead and confirm if they're open. (Today, a Sunday, the website showed open and I…

Do they have WiFi?

Unfortunately no wifi. A lot of people come to work and use the hotspot on their phones.

If you're looking for a spot with great atmosphere, a trendy vibe, and beautiful décor, this is definitely it. My favorite time to go is on the weekends for breakfast. I think they have some of the best breakfast options you'll find on 2nd Street. It's definitely a trendy, people-watching kind of place where you can enjoy the scene as much as the food. It's centrally located right in the heart of 2nd Street, directly across from Nick's. Between the stylish décor, lively atmosphere, and great location, it's just one of those places that has a really fun vibe.

I've gotten fish and chips a bunch of times; sometimes the fish great--but sometimes it is slightly under-fried. Today I tried their fried chicken sandwich and it was not great. The menu described the sandwiches coming with pickled vegetables, but it was very plain. The brioche bun was great, but it's not the selling point. The fries oddly also always come with a teaspoon of ketchup. My biggest gripe is the service. I stopped by to have lunch with my mom. I ordered a soda before we placed our food order. While we looked over the menu, I took a few sips of the soda and finished it. My mom drank her water, and finished it. The server came back and took the order, the drinks were empty and never refilled. Whatever, NBD. However, 10 more minutes passed and I flagged down a different server and asked for a refill. (My server had disappeared). The food came out eventually, my drink was nearly empty again--no refill. The runner asked if I needed anything else after setting the food down and I again asked if I could grab a refill (the server still has not come back to the table). I looked around and he was chatting it up with a bartender leaning against the wall and giggling. Super annoying-- I'm glad the culture here means that the employees are friends and can talk and joke around. I don't need constant engagement, but you can't let drinks stay empty for lengthy periods of time. Half way done with the food, we still had empty drinks. Server never came back, runner never came back. Finished the food and sat for ten mins. Flagged down yet again another server and asked for the check. My server made his was over with the check--tips START at 25%, then 23%, then 20% Our lunch was about $70 (without the tip). This isn't McDonald's. The food was meh and the service was terrible. The cost did not make me feel like there was any value given the lack of attentiveness and quality of the meal.

I've been about 2-3 times now, and the food has consistently been really good. That being said, I would definitely recommend a little more customer service training for the servers. Everyone I've encountered has been very nice, but sometimes it's the simple things, like showing that you're happy to serve your paying customers and making sure they feel taken care of. Each time I've visited, we've found ourselves waiting close to 30 minutes for our server to come by for refills, a to-go box, or even the check. I completely understand that mistakes happen and that things can get busy. I've worked in the restaurant industry before, so I really do try my best to be understanding. However, during one of my recent visits, my order came out incorrectly. There was an item on my plate that I had specifically requested not to have. Of course, mistakes happen, and I had no issue communicating the mistake to my server. What bothered me was that instead of apologizing for the error, she looked at me and simply walked away with the plate. I assumed it was a minor mistake and that she would have the order corrected. I could have just removed the item myself, but at the same time, I shouldn't have to pick through my food after receiving an incorrect order when I'm paying for it. When she brought the plate back, she simply left it on the table without saying anything or acknowledging the mistake. I actually found myself apologizing to her for making her do the extra work, and she just walked away. Overall, I really do think Luna is a great restaurant with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. I'm sharing this feedback because I think with some improvement in customer service, communication, and wait times, Luna has the potential to be even better. I would definitely come back, and I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism rather than anything negative.

A New Job, A New Milestone & A Chance to Rewrite the Narrative…read more My best friend and I have a tradition of celebrating new jobs with a nice dinner. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed. My best friend got the celebration she wanted -- and a much better Bo-Beau experience this time around. Will definitely be returning!

Maybe the sign, maybe the name, but something about it just didn't call out to me. I'd see their Newport Beach location, always packed, and still think, "I'm going to spend a bunch of money, and the place is probably going to suck." Boy, was I wrong! We recently met someone who works there, and she encouraged us to give it a shot. So one evening, my girlfriend and I decided to check out the Long Beach location overlooking the marina. WOW. What an incredible surprise! First, the decor. Absolutely beautiful. Think Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons. That upscale, luxurious feeling you get when you walk into a really special place. A+. Haha. I guess that's why they call it A's! Looking for a date-night spot where you can impress someone? A+. This place absolutely delivers. The atmosphere? Another A+. There's a buzz in the air, an energy that's hard to describe. You immediately feel like you're somewhere special. And then there's the food. Outstanding! From the appetizer to the main course to dessert, everything was fantastic. A+ But here's something I wasn't expecting. The chairs! I'm not kidding when I say I sat in one of the most comfortable restaurant chairs I've ever experienced. It felt more like a luxurious lounge chair than typical restaurant seating. I could've sat there all night, overlooking the beautiful marina, enjoying the atmosphere. The service was outstanding, too. And the people-watching? Fantastic! As people walked in, you couldn't help but look around. It's that kind of scene. Great energy, interesting people, beautiful surroundings. The whole experience just feels special. By the time we left, I was thinking, "We absolutely have to come back!" And here's what really impressed me. This isn't just a restaurant I'd return to because the food was good. It's a restaurant I'd actually crave. Craving amazing food? I'd think of A Restaurant. Craving a beautiful atmosphere, great energy, and a little luxury? I'd think of A Restaurant. Craving beautiful people? A's. That's rare. Usually, restaurants are great at one thing or another. This place checks practically every box. And now I'm kicking myself for waiting more than four years to try it! All because I judged a restaurant by its sign and name. How ridiculous is that? It really reminded me of that old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I had absolutely no reason to believe the restaurant wouldn't be good. I'd never eaten there! Yet somehow, I'd convinced myself it wasn't worth trying. Meanwhile, I was missing out on one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Long Beach. Now I can't wait to check out their Newport Beach location. Every time I've driven past, that place has been packed. And knowing what I know now, I can only imagine the energy and atmosphere there. Plus, who doesn't love Newport Beach? Oh, and one more thing. Apparently, they serve chicken pot pie on certain days. I haven't figured out exactly which days yet, but you better believe I'm going back to try it. If it's anything like the rest of their food, I'm in for a treat! Here's what I'll say about A Restaurant. Whether you're looking for an impressive date night, incredible food, beautiful waterfront views, outstanding service, or just a fun, upscale atmosphere, I genuinely can't imagine walking away disappointed. There's really nothing I can complain about. And I actually think this restaurant deserves even more attention than it's getting. Maybe there are other people like me who drive past, make assumptions, and never give it a chance. If that's you, stop doing that! You're missing out. A's restaurant should absolutely be considered one of the top go-to dining destinations in Long Beach. We're lucky to have a place like this because, quite frankly, Long Beach needs more bougieness! Bring on the luxury. Bring on the beautiful decor. Bring on that Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons kind of experience. Long Beach could use more of it, and A's is delivering exactly that. Four years of driving past this place, and now I can't wait to go back. Lesson learned. Don't judge a book by its cover. A Restaurant, you won me over. Oh, yeah! F**** A. Haha

It is pet friendly which is also nice. Layout of the restaurant is, majority of the seating is outdoor which is covered. There's the dining area inside the restaurant which is pretty small, another patio to the side of that as well as the private room to the side for more of an intimate experience. Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.

The food here exceeded my expectations. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a great sear and was…read moreincredibly tender and flavorful. We also ordered the ube Basque cheesecake, and it was easily one of the best desserts I've had recently--rich, creamy, and not too sweet. Our server, Sergio, made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations without making us feel rushed. The restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere that's great for date night or dinner with friends. I'll definitely be back, and the cheesecake alone is worth another visit.

DINING While Black…read more The 908 Restaurant Environment 1-5: 5 I really appreciated the ambiance and decor of the space. After enduring weeks of record breaking heat in Long Beach, this was the perfect place to land as the Summer Breeze... Makes Me Feel Fineeee again. A very well but gently lit space that still feels cozy and spacious. The outside gives no indication of how well the inside has been designed. Great for lunch or dinner dates. Noise level was low and there's no feeling of a chaotic restaurant environment. Food/Service 1-5: 4.8 I order the shrimp and lobsters fettuccine, bone marrow as an appetizer. My company ordered the lamb burger. All dishes we beautifully plated; true works of art. Neither of us had any complaints about presentation and creativity. As far as taste and as excited as we were to dig in to our food, the ONLY setback was the lack of seasoning mainly salt. I'm aware that a Chef does their best to meet the expectations of their guest. I'm also aware that meeting everyone's expectations is impossible. To confirm my advice of needing some salt in the food I patrons the restaurant twice, two days in a row. The food needs more salt and I stand solid on that opinion. The service was great and I thanked Mel for taking such great care of us. Mel is a rockstar! Diversity score 1-5: 4 The restaurant definitely appeals to diverse crowds. It reminded of the days I frequented Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster in Harlem, NY. Go again score 1-5: 5, Absolutely. I do hope I don't have to keep bothering the server for salt and pepper.
